calm and chaos.

today was overall a pretty produtive day, but it didn’t feel like it :/ I’m trying to get on track to finish the semester strong but classes moving online has been realy hard for me

rant: i feel so stupid in French. i’ve never done so poorly in a class ever. i can’t memorize any vocab, any pronounciations, any grammar rules. i think that i’m not smart enough to learn a foreign language. it feels so impossible and i’ve been spending two hours on it every night and crying over it every night. it’s taking over my life and not in a good way. i don’t know how i’m going to do two semesters of it.

I’ve been gone again for a little bit due to health and productivity waning, but today has been the best day I’ve had in a while so I though I’d pop on and I logged in to find 600 followers. Last time I was on I had less than 50 so this is pretty mad to me. Hello all of you!

As gad as my studies go, I’m still chipping away at the work I have to finish from the spring semester, but the incomplete deadline has been extended to October 5th so I have a lot less pressure. My two seven-week summer courses end in less than two weeks, so I have to stay on top of it. My university uses the +/- grade system, so in order to get a 4 in a class, you have to make a 94. Im in the 90s in both classes, but not at a 94 just yet :/

I think im finally at a place where I can get back on track which feels good, and have decided on a new system for getting these big papers done with a little bit more ease. I’m a pretty shit writer (not great when wanting to go to grad school) so it’s definitely hard for me. I feel like I run in circles a lot planning things out, but I’ve figured I have to write in bits of my outline as I go once I get to a certain point. If any of you are English majors and want to help me with proofing and revising, don’t be shy :)

I think tonight is going to be an all mightier kind of night. I’m further behind than I want to be and assignments are taking longer than I expect them to. I keep having to stop myself from thinking that I’m letter because I take more time, when in reality I’m more thorough.

I’m getting a slow start today, but wanted to get in a big breakfast. I’ve had so much trouble getting tasks done lately, so i’m trying to ease myself into it. My university is switching from Blackboard to Canvas and I’m still struggling to make my accounts, so there’s much to be busy with. I want to start planning out my time more...

i’m always hesitant to post pictures of my setup anywhere, because I know I’m very privileged to have the system i do. i tried to do the cute anoloug notes with all the colored pens and pencils and highlighters and spent so much time and money trying to make it work for me but at the end of the day, it’s not my learning style. now I work almost completely digitally, and i’m thriving! it’s taken me so long to get my system where it is, and i’ve had to save so much money, but to me, it’s so worth it.

don’t feel bad if you don’t have the perfect digital set up right out the gate. it’s literally taken me years so build mine from the ground up. apple products are so expensive, but apple definitely implements a planned obsolescence model, so you can find older stuff for less money readily.

if you’re trying to start a digital set up, my advice is to buy second hand! my macbook is the only bit of tech that i bought full price, and that was back in 2015 when i saved up for years so I could have a computer to edit on :) and my airpods that i bought with my 2017 tax return lol. my imac is a late-2013 model that i got off my local university buy, sell, trade for $200 (it came w the mouse and trackpad) and my ipad is from my senior year of highschool when my computer had to be sent in for repairs and i had to buy something to do my online classes on. my apple pencil was a gift from a really good friend, but i was using a genaric bluetooth pencil before and it worked just fine!

i finally got my cord organization under control today, so lmk if that’s something y’all would want to see!!

I’m back from the land of the dead! Besides being physically grueling, being sick for four weeks has destroyed any sense of a routine I had and now I’m frantically trying to figure out how to get it back. Please help if you have advice on getting back into a routine! All being said, I’m so greatful to have lived through this awful experiance especially as someone who’s immunosupressed. More productive content later, but for now, some pretty pictures of my morning and late night snack. I’m so happy to be back

i’ve had to give up on 100 days of productivity for the time being. i’m currently battling ilness which has been a total road block in my coursework. i have to take incompletes in all of my classes and finish them at a later date, as i begin to feel well enough to do so. i hate this. i know im being way too hard on myself, and that i should be happy im able to do anything, but 4 hours and 30 minutes of work in an entire day is unacceptable for me. i don’t know how i’m going to get on top of my assignments. i feel so lost and purposeless.

i hate this epidemic. i hate feeling sick. i hate that i have to be away from my support system and i have that my goals are inhibited. i hate that one of my professors is being impossibly difficult. i hate that im going to spend my birthday feeling awful, alone in quarantine.

i love school. i miss being in the classroom im so upset that my supper classes are all on line now, i miss seeing my classmates. i miss being productive. i want this all to be over :(

today wasn’t a great one. it was storming all morning, so that combined with the mild sun poisioning i got yesterday had me in bed, sound asleep for 18 hours, putting me up and adam at 3pm... I piddled around and squandered most of the day, so it’s shottily lit work space for today’s post. that being said, i’ve pretty much finalized my political philosophy outline and will have that essay for sure done for sunday. I had a pretty good work flow once i got going, so it’s two more pomorodo sessions, one on my theories of violence and revolution outline, one on an outline for my ancient philosophy paper that i HAVENT started, then its off to be for me. oof.

Hi y’all! I’m Kendall, a newbie here to join the sudyblr community! I used to be a part of a little studyblr bubble back in my sophomore year of high school, and fell out of it, but have decided to pick back up!  In light of the whole COVID-19 debacle, I’ve found it very hard to stay on motivated and with the semester coming to an end at the end of the month, I need to step up my game. I remember this community being incredibly welcoming and encouraging, which is something I could really use right now!
