normal regency au where visander returns to the wrong universe, one where magic and the dark king remain forgotten, but doesn't realize it. he wakes up to the whole regency society thing and meets his (new) fiancé who looks too much like that bastard sarcean to be a coincidence and he's convinced that "phillip" is just sarcean ver2.0 and this is all just a sick farce designed to humiliate him and to keep him from the real war. meanwhile, phillip is literally just a regency dandy who's never worked a day in his life nor ever expected to do anything serious like inheriting his father's title and lands and now he suddenly has to do that on top of having a high-maintenance fiancé who seems to HATE him even though he's been trying to be very polite to her???

This is good, this is really really, good. Especially: "what normal looks like and how it must be maintained." 

But you can really see Phil’s agenda when it comes to young women who are "acting out" (see "cash me outside") and his solution basically amounts to "start being feminine." I mean, he may not say anything specifically about transgender people but he sure has some opinions about women and girls. Men and boys might do the same things (minor crime, starting shit, being loud), but Phil's "solutions" for them and his "solutions" for women and girls will be absolutely different. And it's distressing. Boys might get psychological help so they can understand why they’re doing these things. Girls get sent to The Ranch until they learn how to act like Girls. It’s enforced femininity. And I’m not the only one who’s noticed this--definitely not.

And it even goes down to how the guests are dressed and appear on the show--the "good" women are made to appear feminine to an almost peculiar degree (I’d call it “hyper-feminine” but it’s more like “fundie-feminine”), and the "bad" women are the ones who wear heels that are a little too high, who show a little too much skin, who are a little too loud, who have nails that are too long, who are a little too upfront about what they want, who are a little too ready to leave an abusive situation (and it's always the "good" family members determined to pull them back in). They’re not Normal in Philland and they need to be corrected. They need to be more like Mrs. Dr. Phil (notice how she dresses and acts).

There's seriously so much to unpack in Dr. Phil's hidden agenda. And once you notice it, you can't help but keep noticing it.

Carlton transitions to UMB from working for the Baltimore City Schools.  Carlton received his BS in Technical Management from Devry University, New York in 2010 and his MA in Urban Studies from Queens College, New York in 2013. Carlton loves soccer and grew up in the Caribbean. Carlton understands the importance of bringing cancer awareness to the community as he his family has been impacted by cancer. I've been saying cops are power hungry thugs for years now and I'm glad to see everyone else coming to that conclusion now too. For years cops would be unified against criticism when a colleague did some power hungry bullshit. Only now that we have collectively realized that cops that support criminals in uniform are also criminals that we see cops breaking the party line and talking about ending police brutality. Where was that shit with Ferguson? Baltimore? Eric Gardner? Phillande Castro? List goes on and on. They've only changed their mind now cause so many people are angry. Self-preservation.
