CHAPTER 14: "The battle of New York"

A/N: I'm really sorry for the delay... I had work and school is starting soon i was to tired to post on monday. But at last here you have chapter 14.

2012.

My ears were ringing. Glass and metal rubble were gathered around me as I started to remember where I was I picked myself up off the ground. "Tony!" I yelled, looking around. I couldn't feel much of my legs. "Steve!" I yelled again and coughed. I limped to the door as I couldn't find anyone. "Natasha!" No answer. I leaned against the wall. So much for healing powers, I thought.

"I'm not Natasha but I can help" I looked up.

"Coulson" He walked up to me "Thank god" He held me up. "What happened?" I asked. The pain in my leg started disappearing slowly.

"Barton attacked the ship. Rogers and Stark are fixing the thrusters" I sighed in relief. I couldn't help but feel hurt that they just left me there.

"Good, they're alive," I said pushing that aside. It took a while but my leg finally healed and I let go of Coulson. "Are you okay?" I looked him over.

"Yeah, As good as can be" Phil had a soft smile on his face. He always looked like he was smiling. That's why I adored him.

"Here" Phil handed me a gun. I looked at it with a smirk.

"You know I can blow holes in people's chests right?" I said with a chuckle.

"I know. Just in case" I nodded and took it. I tucked it in the back of my jeans.

"Is Loki here?" I whispered. Phil shook his shoulder.

"We're about to find out" Coulson held his badge against the keypad and the door unlocked, showing his ID on the screen.

"Be careful, Loki is no joke" Coulson nodded. "Get behind me" I balled my fists making a shield in front of us.

"I didn't know you could do that" he whispered.

"Me either" The door swung open.

Loki was out of his cell fighting with Thor. My heart was beating a million beats per minute. He took out all of the guards. "Stand down Loki" I yelled. He turned around and grinned.

"Is that supposed to stop me?" his arms were crossed behind his back.

"I don't know. We can find out" I spit.

"Don't make him angry" Phill scream-whispered.

"I could never be angry at you princess," Loki said, winking. sending a shiver down my spine. My face revealed a look of utter disgust.

Phil stepped away from behind me and circled to attack Loki from behind. I couldn't help but notice the slight shimmer coming off him. "Phil get back here!" I yelled. Before I could do something I was thrown through the air. I hit the wall. It knocked the wind out of me.

Everything went blurry as I reached for my head, revealing blood on my fingers. "Ransom!" Phil dodged the fake Loki and ran up to me. "Are you okay?" Coulson crouched down.

"W-what happened?" my sight was still blurry

"No Idea" I tried to pick myself up from the ground but he pushed back. "Stay put" I shook my head.

"I can't" I fought against every instinct and got up. Phil propped me up. "You shouldn't be up, you're still bleeding" My eyesight finally returned.

Thor and Loki were in a fight. Thor launched himself at Loki and fell through him. Loki locked him inside the cell he previously vacated and he pushed a button that made a hole open in de plane, making the cell fall out.

Loki looked at me with a smug grin on his face. He appeared behind Coulson. Before I could do or say anything, he stabbed Coulson through the heart. I scrambled towards him and I caught him. "What did you do!" I said loudly, putting pressure on the wound. Tears were streaming down my face. Phill was gasping for air.

"I simply gave you a purpose, princess" I looked up at him, anger in my eyes. All I could do was blast him with my powers. It wasn't the real Loki, because after I hit him he immediately disappeared and the fireball hit the wall and short-circuited.

I put my finger on my comms and called for help. "We need a medic. Coulson is down" My hands were shaking. I tried to stop the bleeding but It didn't help. The paramedics arrived soon after I made the call, Fury on their tale. "Hold on Phil" Nick pulled me aside so the medics could do their job.

I was crying hysterically when Fury tried to comfort me by putting his hand on my shoulder. One of the medics looked up and shook their heads. I fell to the ground next to him. I took his hand in mine as he looked up at me. "You're bleeding" he whispered.

"I-I'll be fine" I sniffed. He smiled sweetly but it disappeared as fast as it came.

"Please stop him don't let him destroy the most beautiful city in the world" tears streamed down my face.

"I promise" I sighed caressing his cheek. Phil's eyes darted up as he drew his last breath. Fury pulled me off him again, so he could be taken away.

"Agent Coulson is down" Fury called in. My ears were ringing and I had no idea what I was supposed to do now. I decided to just follow and see where my feet were taking me. As I looked around, I found myself in the basement of the helicarrier.

Tony stood there watching his broken suit. Tony turned around when he heard me. His eyes were also red and puffy. "Come here" he spread his arms and pulled me in a tight hug. I let my head rest on his shoulder. "It's going to be okay," he said kissing at the side of my head.

"I could've saved him" I sighed.

"There's nothing any of us could've done. Phil did his job" Tony said holding me firmly. We stood there for a few minutes holding, each other tightly.

"The team is a mess" I stated. "Loki did something to Thor," I said, my voice soft. I felt defeated. While I was hugging Tony I felt some sense of peace. For the first time in what felt like forever.

It was cut short however when we were called back upstairs to the main room. I didn't want to let him go and by the way, he held me tight against him he didn't want to either. "We have to go back upstairs, sweetheart" he whispered in my ears. I let go of him and wiped the tears from my face. "C'mon," he grabbed my hand pulling me upstairs.

Steve and Natasha were the only ones left besides Tony and me. Nick's face looked like it was about to explode. Steve looked at me and he nudged me to come sit next to him. I didn't want to. I wanted to curl up into a ball and cry all day. And if it all wasn't bad enough I felt like a teenager again being called to the principal's office.

I sat down next to him. He had this sorry look in his eyes that made me go insane. Steve tried to reach for my hand but I ignored him. I knew it was well meant. But in his eyes, we're all soldiers, and sometimes soldiers die during war. But a soldier that's not what I am.

Fury was yelling, giving one of his speeches again. It was supposed to motivate us. Anger Boiled up when Nick threw Phil's Captain America trading cards on the table, plastered with blood. Fake blood. They weren't in his jacket. I saw him put it in his locker yesterday.

Tears sprung in my eyes again. It was time to avenge Coulson's death. It was called the Avengers Initiative for a reason. Fury walked out of the room, leaving us to simmer with these unresolved feelings.

The room was eerily silent and I found myself walking back to the basement again. I was happy that Banner didn't destroy all of it. However, I wasn't sure what I was doing there again and I knew we were about to do something.

Tony walked into the room. "I am so ready to rip this guy's head off" I spit.

"He's a God" Tony bargained.

"I don't care everyone has a weakness" Tony nodded.

"Well then, let me give this to you first" he stepped close to this locker and opened it, grabbing a suitcase. I looked at him, tilting my head.

"Open it up," he answered my question with a soft smile, pride radiating from him. I hesitated. What if it was something from my past? I wasn't in the mood for that right now. "Open it" Tony ushered me again. I put it down on a bench. When I opened the suit, I was lost for words. It revealed a brand new suit.

"Tony this is amazing," I said mesmerized as I took it out of the case, Inspecting it. He smiled as I hugged him.

"Try it on" he ushered me. I looked around and stepped behind some lockers. The fabric of the suit felt nice on my skin and it felt better than my ripped and burnt clothes.

"Fits like a glove," I said as I zipped up the top part.

"Let me see" I stepped from behind the lockers.

"You look amazing" Tony's mouth fell open, making me blush as he said it.

"Let's go blow up some aliens," Tony said, suiting up. He pushed a button on the closet his suit was standing in. His suit came out automatically. Tony stepped up some stairs, right into his suit. He was fully covered except for his head.

"I reconfigured your suit with J.A.R.V.I.S" he handed me another piece. It looked like a crown. It was similar to Loki's but less spectacular. I put it on my head and it locked behind my ears. I heard J.A.R.V.I.S greet me. "Hello, darling," I said smiling. I looked at Tony with a serious face. "Let's go," I said.

We went back upstairs. People were running around. It felt like the room stopped as everyone kept staring at me. I knew it wouldn't be the last time. "Are you guys ready?" Steve appeared behind us and we turned around. "As ready as can be," I said, trying to reassure myself. Steve ushered us out of this flying vacuum of disaster, onto a quinjet.

Natasha and Clint appeared behind him. I gave Clint a nod, he waved awkwardly.

We all made our way to the quinjet and soon enough we flew off to the Stark Tower. Clint and Natasha were in the front of the jet. "How'd you guys know where Loki is?" Steve looked amused.

"Let's just say he's more familiar than we thought" Steve's shoulders shook as he laughed. Tony rolled his eyes.

I smiled as they were bickering. Steve looked at me with a big smile. "I like your new suit" he whispered.

"Thank you, Tony made it" I whispered back. "It's snug" Steve chuckled, kissing my cheek.

We soon landed. Clint dropped us close to the building. We were already too late, however, as Loki had already opened a portal.

"We need to evacuate the city," Steve said any bit of emotion on his face was gone.

"I have an Idea" I looked at him as I put my finger to my ear. "J.A.R.V.I.S., can you access the city's evacuation system?" I asked.

"Yes, Ma'am. Do you need me to set off the alarms?"

"Yes, please" It took him seconds before the alarms went off. People went running outside. Police and emergency services arrived with screeching tires. Steve jumped up some cars and went up to police officers. He demanded they put up a perimeter as far up 35th Street.

They kept refusing until an alien ran up and Steve ripped its arm from its body and killed another with its gun. Once they saw that they all scrambled, calling in dispatch. The ground shook and buildings were collapsing. A feeling of Impending doom settled in my stomach. "Guys, you are all seeing this too right?" My voice was shaky.

Natasha appeared next to me. Her chest panting like she had been running. "Sadly, yeah" she cocked her head from left to right. "We're going to have to fight" I nodded.

"As long as I'm not alone" Natasha smiled

"Never" She turned her knives in her hands. I smiled back and balled my fists turning the flames on. We started fighting.

"Nothing is going to matter if we don't close that damn portal," Steve said loudly while throwing off a bunch of aliens.

"Tony! How is it looking from up there?" Natasha yelled. I squinted bc of the bright light radiation from it.

"The core is already self-sustaining. I can't access it" He said.

"And what if one of us accessed it remotely?" I asked when he landed beside me.

"You'll need the scepter. It'll burn your hand off if you try and do it by hand" he informed. "Even for you" he warned. I smirked. Good safe.

I looked up at the Tower and saw Loki standing on the platform. Anger boiled up in me again. I was about to run for the building. When Thor Landed in front of me. "Where is my brother?" he yelled, his accent thick.

"Right up there" I pointed at him. Thor looked up at the building and then back at me. "I gonna need a lift" I looked up at him. He didn't say anything. He nodded, grabbed me, and swung his hammer. We landed with a hard thud. It almost knocked the wind out of me.

"Sorry," he said, looking down on me. We made our way inside, softly not to tick him off yet. Thor looked at me. "We need to stop him" he whispered I ignored him. We were hiding behind the bar. Tony Flew up and confronted Loki first. Maybe his sweet tongue would be able to talk him out of it. Although I felt like the chances of that happening were small.

With my luck, he'd piss him off enough so I could make my move. Tony came and stood behind the bar, pouring a drink for himself. I rolled my eyes. Of course, he pours himself a drink in the middle of a battle.

They kept going back and forth until Loki pointed the scepter to Tony's chest. That was my opportunity to jump out and run for it. I managed to take it from him but not without Loki swinging his arm and throwing me across the room. With a loud thud, I came down against a pillar cracking it.

I grunted and picked myself up. "I am so tired of people throwing me around" I grabbed my shoulder popping it back into place. Thor gave me a worried look but I just gave him the Scepter. "Give this to Natasha" he nodded but he protested.

"My brother" I wiped the sweat from my forehead.

"I'll give him back when I'm done with him," I said firmly. Lucky for me he didn't protest anymore and flew off.

"Now" I found my balance and dusted my suit. "You little piece of shit" I ran up to him and grabbed him by the throat as I pulled him up against the wall. My eyes turned a bright orange color. Tony looked terrified. "You killed Phil!" My hand was wrapped so tightly around his neck that he started to gag. "You are destroying everything I love!" I threw him.

He laughed like the psychopath he is. He tried to get back up but I grabbed the collar of his suit. "You midgardians need a ruler. Who better than me" I rolled my eyes.

"Of course, you think that" I punched him in the face. "You have major daddy issues. Didn't Daddy give you enough love that you need to deflect?" Loki's smug grin disappeared. he was hanging on. If I dropped him now he'd fall on the ground.

I felt euphoric. I dropped him. He scrambled back up. "The god of mischief has daddy issues, How about that" I laughed. Tony appeared behind me. Probably trying to,literally, defusethe situation. "That's funny. Along with the performance issues you have a big problem, my friend" Loki scrambled back up.

"I'm not your friend and I don't have issues" he wiped the blood off his face. "Good, so I don't have to feel guilty" I ran and punched him, with my fists balled up. I kept punching and punching, slowly walking him to the edge of the building. "You are not a God. You are just an alien. You're an ugly beast" his eyes were full of fear once I was fully engulfed in flames.

He got to the edge and almost fell off the edge I grabbed him by the collar of his costume again. His headpiece fell off. "It would be sad to return in a bodybag wouldn't it" I taunted. I didn't want to kill him. I didn't want to risk a diplomatic war. But this needed to stop.

"Do your worst. I have nothing to lose, princess" he grinned.

"Me neither," I said as I jumped off the building.

In iron man 2 phill Coulson threatened to tase tony stark wouldn’t that kill tony though

His reactor runs on electricity so wouldn’t that fuck with it and potentially cause heart failure.

okay so, maybe I have a thing for actors who peck lips with their co-stars.

Like:

Robert Downey and Gwyneth Paltrow

(there's actually better picture in Iron Man 3 premier - this was in 2012 Iron Man 2 premiere)

and I KNOW they're friends, but it came to me, that some co-stars, mostly actor and actresses, do peck the lips of their colegues, like those they consider VERY MUCH, also the other person must be comfortable, OF COURSE!

Also, is super cute, they indeed are a couple in the movies <3

ALSO, do you guys remember when Gwyneth said RDJ was her worst kiss ever, cos it was like kissing a brother? LOL

okay, moving on...

Clark Gregg and Ming-Na Wen

Okay, Philinda is perfect, and we all already know that, BUT Clark and Ming would make a power couple too, right?

She's still happily married tho, and the moment this video was recorded, so was Gregg, so yeah...

they're also a couple - sorta - in the Agents of SHIELD series and yet another Marvel (okay what's with those Marvel ppl and their pecks?)

anyway, both Ming and Clark are philinda supporters, they even gave interviews saying so, you can google it if you wanna.

I love their dynamic, and in any way, I want them to run away together in real life, I'm just showing you guys that it's kinda natural, this chimestry they have.

I'll probably remember more ppl over the week and come edit this post, but PLEASE this us just for fun and cos I find curious those pair would greet each other like this, being married and all, I mean they're artists, and those are by definition, excentric... maybe is a culturl thing too

A lot like GP and RDJ, Marg and Billy are the "let's have lunch/ dinner together even if we're not working together anymore" kind of friendship!

there's LOTS of videos of them on youtube kissing in various occasions, even though in CSI they're good old friends!

even though, they're my ship in the series (I'm a sucker for friends to lovers cliche)
