Is there a point where Scarlett was Hawkeye but a turning point her her life that made her want to change her name and separate herself from Hawkeye

my god this is such a wonderful question thank you so much !! 😭

so—i believe scarlett started out as a hawkeye because it was easier and it fit her better when she was young and just starting this "vigilante" life—after all, she uses a bow like her father, loves purple and he was the first to let her tag along with him on some small missions and things like that. not to mention that there'd be 0 motives for scarlett to adopt her mother's name, so i think it was only natural.

and in the beginning, she was very honored and excited with that.

now, the turning point was easily civil war. this was a period that brought a lot changes in scarlett's life, when everything sort of turned upside down and she was thrown into new situations she had never been before. after arrest and after she fled to russia with her mother, she figured that still being hawkeye wasn’t the most appropriate at the time, so she ended up coming up with an alternative, which worked a lot better.  so she didn't quite choose to distance herself from the name, she was forced to, but over time, she realized that it was for the best.  it was also around this time that she met antonia, and learned more about her parents' past and that kind of was a wake up call of sorts for her to some things ( that's another headcanon lol ) so having her own identity was really important.

when she returned to the united states, she no longer felt like going back to being hawkeye anymore. a lot had changed, she had grown and more important that all that, they had kate now, who was a hawkeye infinitely better than she could ever be so scarlett felt really happy to see her using the name.

but being very honest, no matter the verse, despite loving to be able to share the same name as her father & kate, scarlett would never be hawkeye for long. first because she was afraid of doing something stupid that could take away the credibility of the name, and second—and even more important, because she’d never want to live in her parents' shadow forever.

it's hard enough for her already having to deal with the fact that she's the daughter of two avengers and that sometimes gets her into some sticky situations so i guess using her father's name was just an initiation but she’d change it anyway after a while. she also always wanted something that reminded her of both clint and natasha and not just one of them and strelka gave her that possibility.

LISTEN ! this would be so important to her because i’m sure that at first she’d a little worried about actually changing her name because she didn't want to upset clint or make him think that she didn't want to carry on his legacy or that she was trying to distance herself from him, because that was obviously not what she was trying to do ( she’d never do that ) so seeing that he'd support the idea would make her really happy :)

Dream birthday party?

as a kid, her dream birthday party would be a dinosaur themed one. or a lion king themed one because that was like 2 things she really loved as a kid and she’d have a lot of fun with those. 

right now, i guess she’d just want a calm day she could enjoy with both her parents at home and not in a mission ( bc i’m sure they’ve missed at least a few over the years and scarlett understands why, but still hurts a little. and she can also be sent in a mission so, there's that too ), and having her friends over to just spend the day with her and have lots of pizza, games, conversations, fun and all that normal stuff.  a birthday she could spend traveling to some place she chooses to be it’s also on the list

i don’t se her being a huge party girl, you know ? so since she was young she’d prefer to keep things small and just for people she loves rather than throwing big parties.

“he did used to, when i was younger and my parents didn't want to leave me all alone. i guess they trusted him more than the others for this and it was easier since i always liked uncle phill so, i didn’t gave him too much trouble. he was always pretty good at the job !”

What's it like having Hawkeye and Black widow for parents?

“well it’s—it’s something. i mean, yeah it’s hard sometimes because you know, we have a crazy life. they’re always pretty busy and i’m always worried when they’re on missions and stuff like that but i’ve learned how to managed that over the years. and in the end, they’re my parents. to me, that’s all they are. they’re mom and dad before they’re black widow and hawkeye so i guess it’s pretty normal to me. i don’t know anything else, anyways.”

WHAT is Scarlet's least favorite vegetable, and why?

interesting one…

she’s actually okay with pretty much all vegetables, she never really refused to eat much of them. Onions aren’t her favorites but are tolerable if mixed with other things. she doesn’t like, but she won’t complain either. the least of the least favorite for her are the eggplants. that’s the only vegetable that she’ll refuse to eat no matter what. she hates the taste—she tried it once and won’t give it a chance ever again.

Favorite arrow?

the dangerous ones—like the explosive arrow and the acid arrow 😈

nah, i’m just kidding ( even tho they’re somewhat in the list ) her favorite arrow is by far, the putty arrow because it’s the funny one. it’s the one that’s non lethal and glue people on the wall and on the floor and just causes a big mess whenever is used. she can use to immobilize her enemies without killing them so that’s her go-to arrow whenever she has a chance to use it.

its satisfying to her annoy the heck out of her enemies and i’m sure this arrow do the trick every time.
