3. Everyone Is Fucking Crazy
4. Allemannia
Was nettes zum Hirn abschalten.
5. Tatort Saarbrü — *I am shot by a sniper before I can finish the sentence*

Hi Zimt! I adore your works. Do you think Mello works out a lot during his time in the Mafia? I still have to figure out whether he's muscular and sturdy or just a skinny twink...
I think the only time Mello has seen a gym from the inside was when he and Matt were homeless early in L.A. and got a membership to use the showers.
He knows his strengths and physical power is not one of them.
That's Mello.
#in which universe would mello be muscular??#look at the guy#in german we would call him a lauch (leek)#ask

Review #186 & #286: Blood Sugar Sex Magik & Californication, Red Hot Chili Peppers
I was starting to think I had nothing left to say here. And I don’t actually have much to say here, which is why this review is a twofer:
Anthony Kiedis is a 61 year old man who is currently dating a 19 year old girl. This is fucking disgusting.
This is the most recent of a pretty long list of disgusting behavior by him and his bandmates, much of which was self proclaimed in his autobiography, long before the #metoo movement and he’s been none too pleased about anyone having the audacity to bring up his own admissions to him to hold him accountable.
Truthfully, I was a fan as a teenager, but it all got a bit overdone and they got boring to me. But in this day and age we all have to have our own lines in the sand about when we are willing to continue to separate art from artist. For me, being a reprehensible pervert who takes advantage of young women crosses a line and I won’t listen to it and I won’t review it.
I’m sure all of the men who make the top 500 lists will feel differently, and they can go fuck themselves, frankly.
I’ll be interested to see just how many reviews I can refuse to do based on how abhorrent the behavior of the artists are. Looking at you, John Lennon, James Brown, Kanye West, Jerry Lee Lewis, Phil Spector (seriously????? clowns). Like, I’m not just talking people whose views I disagree with or who have said and done things I personally don’t approve of, I’m talking like, consistent verbal abuse, physical violence and assaults, rapes and murders, underage girls, and seriously demented shit. If you want to listen to it still, whatever, but must we laud it on some fucking list as something to look upto and revere? Jesus.

Hi! I've been a bit of a silent stalker of your page for a while, and wanted to say I really enjoy how you write and how you produce very introspective, character driven rpf.
Just wondered if you'd ever thought of Jude/Foden (I know you don't really like him, so sorry!)? I think the fact that they probably don't actually like each other would produce some pretty interesting thoughts on either side. I have no picture references, but I just sense rancid vibes between them and I love thinking about those sorts of relationships in sport.
Again, sorry for making you have to think about foden (I rather like him), and I hope you have a good day :)
Rancid vibes … oh man Phil as a member of a punk band Jude as a football player. Phil literally a greasy little oik and Jude with buckets of money. Oh fuck I want to read that.
He’s not even supposed to like that kind of music! The rest of the band hate Jude BTW. Phil’s the youngest.
I want to prefix this by saying Jude is a hell of a player. And I fully support him not living in the UK and being slandered by the press week one, redeemed in week two (nothing has changed) and lauded week three. Rinse repeat.
But there is something in his relentless drive that eats through the way he manages the press ( he’s polite and willing to speak and answer hard questions… and he so obviously still guards his actual personal life and thoughts. I appreciate that with all the access he’s still a bit unknowable.)
I mean he is captain in waiting (which might burn Declan Rice? He has made no secret he wants to be England captain after Kane - not that I think Kane is going anywhere) he is going to be whoever the midfield is built around.
And Phil. Has all the silky pretty skills. His family is not the “good guys” of the Bellingham’s (legit started typing Beckhams) you could build a team around him except they both play in the same spot so it was a disaster really.
But yeah… they have their own camps. Jude/TAA / older players
Phil has like Cole, mainly Wharton. There is this flinty “we are in this together” through gritted teeth.
Oggg there is something there. When the “old guard” go walker, Kane, tripps maybe stones, there are two warring sets of under 25’s.
Of there is much to think about.
(Also thinking about Phil in low slung jeans with a studded belt and tartan boxers showing, and showing off his skinny waist and it is NOT UNPLEASANT. It is not unpleasant at all)
#stalk away!#no need to be silent#I encourage all forms of nonsense#and non nonsense#it’s not that I dislike Foden#it’s just in the season I hate everyone not NUFC#and sometimes NUFC

The fall of Senator Bob Menendez
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy and Democratic leaders on Friday called on Sen. Bob Menendez to resign, hours after federal prosecutors indicted him on bribery charges.
“The allegations in the indictment against Senator Menendez and four other defendants are deeply disturbing. These are serious charges that implicate national security and the integrity of our criminal justice system,” Murphy said in a statement. “The alleged facts are so serious that they compromise the ability of Senator Menendez to effectively represent the people of our state. Therefore, I am calling for his immediate resignation.”
MORE..
In new statement, Sen. Bob Menendez pushed back on calls for him to resign from his seat following new corruption charges against him.
“Those who believe in justice believe in innocence until proven guilty. I intend to continue to fight for the people of New Jersey with the same success I’ve had for the past five decades. This is the same record of success these very same leaders have lauded all along. It is not lost on me how quickly some are rushing to judge a Latino and push him out of his seat. I am not going anywhere," Menendez' statement read.

Yep, it’s February 2nd, 2023, Groundhog Day! And I’d like to take this opportunity to share about one of my favorite movies of all time, Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell, on its 30-year(!) anniversary.
The film, known as an “existential comedy” by the great Harold Ramis, is now considered by most theologians to be one of the great depictions of a universal spiritual lesson - what the hell are we doing here, what is our purpose, and when do we achieve enlightenment? To Bill Murray’s character Phil Connors, it means having to live the same day over and over until he finally gets it right.
There's a popular phrase in 12-step rooms - "insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." There are innumerable ways and means in which I was the Phil Connors in my own life story, reliving the same experience over and over, furious and terrified and bewildered as hell, wondering why nothing was changing.
So, throughout my life as a creative, in order to pay rent and live, I would take these office jobs. It was the quintessential day job, trying to strike the perfect balance of little responsibility (entry level) and no demand (I'm not spending one fucking minute after 5PM at this bitch.) Because, I AM AN ARTIST. I don't have time for you people. I would look down my nose at the other workers, the interns, and of course the bosses, privilege and contempt dripping from my pores. You dare to ask me to wipe down the conference table or order lunch? I graduated magna cum laude! I studied Shakespeare, assholes! And, the years would pass and those interns would turn into my next bosses (meetings may be temporary but kale salad orders are forever.)
Sometimes I would try and pull a geographic - I'd quit the job in a dramatic fashion (oh, please, who am I kidding - I'd give a month's notice because I was sooooo indispensable), start looking at grad school applications in other states, or even move across the country. But somehow, no matter where I went, there I was - somehow with the same job, the same boss, the same misery and giant ol' chip on my shoulder getting ever heavier.
But what about your creative endeavors, you ask? Didn't you focus your energy and attention to working on your craft, using every possible free moment, each available cellular unit of energy, to create? That would be a giant fucking NOPE. Instead, I just became obsessed in the pursuit of it, much like Phil Connors' pursuit of Rita.
Just like Phil memorizing French poetry, I thought maybe if I KNEW all about the music industry, then I could finally break free of my self-imposed eternal prison. I turned into one of those annoying people you meet at cocktail parties, spouting expertise and blabbing about all the current trends in music, etc (I even made a podcast!). But to actually sit down at the keyboard and create??? Oh HELL no. My art was placed on such an insanely high pedestal, adrift in the waves of "if onlys" and "somedays" that it became the Moby Dick to my Captain Ahab, somewhere out there in mystical perfection, my hopes of ever finding it getting dimmer by the day.
Once Phil realizes that he can't escape this eternal day loop, the wheels come off and he starts acting out, in fun ways that eventually turn dark. For me, faced with my endless loop, It was far easier to "get busy dying," to quote my other favorite movie. Just stay in the shit, endlessly complain about this boss or that stupid-ass project, eat and drink away any notion of taking personal responsibility for my circumstances, and find whatever distraction I could* to relieve the anguish that I was a failure, a joke, a victim of life's cruel sense of humor. (*dive bars, Netflix binges and doom scrolling are a few favorites of mine)
So, what's the turning point, the solution, to all of this? For Phil, it's coming to terms with the fact that there is no solution. He's tried everything, including several creative ways to off himself, but he keeps waking up at the same time, in the same place, every day. He's had to let go of the illusion that he could control anything, least of all the possibility of a tomorrow.
He starts to poke around the walls of his self-imposed prison and starts taking a sincere interest in his fellow cell mates. He learns how to play piano (nice one, Phil!) He learns ice sculpture. In addition to self-improvement, he becomes a friend, a counselor, a comfort and a support to everyone in the town - a George Bailey of Punxsutawney, if you will. He learns to love without any expectation of return. And he tries to make each day, each "same" day, the best day of his life.
So, have I personally achieved Phil Connors' Nirvana? Um, no, because my life is not a movie. Have I been inspired and humbled by Groundhog Day? God, yes. When I stop and think about it, some of the coolest people, the smartest people, the most thoughtful and creative people I have ever met in La-la land were from these office jobs. Some of my most enduring friendships have come from office jobs. So much kindness and generosity came from the very people I resented - the bosses who asked about my music, came to a show, donated to my tip jar, championed me and protected me from far worse outcomes and possible destitution that I never realized until much later. Saved my ass, basically, and asked for nothing in return.
“Life is art. Art is life. I never separate it.” – Ai Weiwei Being an artist is tough. For whatever reason we have to support our art, sometimes over several lifetimes, until it can support us. However, the jewels of inspiration are in the fabric of the every day, the life we are living in this very moment. Sure, I'd rather be inspired by the whitewashed walls of Rick Rubin's studio than the gray matte fabric of an office cubicle, but life's what you make it, with the tools you've been given. To quote Phil Connors, "I think people place too much emphasis on their careers. I wish we could all live in the mountains at high altitude. That's where I see myself in five years. How about you?"

A really lovely new interview with Mimi in the New York Times today, part of their “Sunday Routine” series ❤️
Ms. O’Donnell, 55, lives with her three children: Willa, 14; Tallulah, 16; and Cooper, 19, who recently starred in the movie Licorice Pizza; and their French bulldog, Puddles, in Manhattan’s West Village.
Ms. O’Donnell was also the longtime partner of the lauded film actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, who died from a heroin overdose nine years ago this month.
Her work in audio has been informed by her grieving process. “I talk to Phil and he talks to me in my head all the time, which makes me feel closer to him,” she said. “Audio is very inclusive and intimate. You can’t touch it, but somehow it exists.”
“My kids joke with each other in a way that feels like siblings. Whatever armor we put on out in the world goes away. We are a little kinder. It fills me emotionally. I see Phil in all three of them. I miss him more on a Sunday because it’s a slower day, so I’m more aware he’s not here.”
#PUDDLES THE MVP 🐾#mimi o’donnell#words#*#I was thinking of her on my run this morning this is the nicest surprise#it fills my heart. I’m so glad

deal with a devil to save a soul
by sharksarewaterdogs
wilbur's parents aren't good people. he's known that from a young age; even as the kingdom lauds them as heroes, even as they provide for him and his brother the food and clothes and upbringing that keeps the boys alive with rarely a strike or a raised voice, even as they—his father captain of the king's guard, and his mother the king's chief champion—stand as the only wall between the kingdom, between their boys, and the cold death that broods in the faerie forest, wilbur knows, deep down: they are monsters themselves.
and if they have it their way, their children will grow up as the same.
wilbur will not have it their way.
so he makes a deal.
