Welcome to Arshi Fiesta!
Phati-sari's aur Sanka Devis, hum tumka forgetyay naahi gaye hain! Hum toh ee lobhbirds ko surprisewa deve ke khatir tumka bulawat hai! Samjheev? Ab ee ka baat padho, e khoon bhari taang kaa introductionwa likh ke gayi hai dekho to jara👀
Theme Introduction: Colours of Love!
If you didn't know already, "Satrangi Re" is a song from the movie Dil Se which is based on the concept of seven stages of love depicted in Arabic Literature. Each stage is denoted by a color so let's look at Arshi's story through these colours!
1. Black for Attraction (hub)
The song starts with a hauntingly energetic tune (spooky!) and we weave through a maze of passages till we finally meet our protagonists. Quite like how Arshi started out as strangers who didn't look like a compatible match initially until all the pieces of puzzles fell into its place.
The beautiful lyrics captures the essence of their dhak-dhaks, their initial attraction that exists from their very first meet. They've hated each other, loved each other but have never ever stopped being attracted to one another. As if a magical magnetic force has kept bringing them together over and over again (guess who? Devi Maiyya of course!) 🖤
2. Violet for Infatuation (uns)
Uff, Infatuation inke jaisa toh aur kisi couple me nahi hai, right? The subtle yet lingering touches, intense gaze, impulsive kiss games and everything about their chemistry is absolutely electrifying! No one does infatuation like them 💜
3. Blue for Love (ishq)
Love love love. Love took so long to blossom between them, like a long drawn out fire. Was it blazing or were there only a few embers alight? One could barely tell. Love started from care first. But they could only care once they hurt each other, right? Oh and hurt they did, they hurt each other really bad. But, isn't it only the people you care about who could hurt you? 💙
4. Green for Trust (akidat)
Trust is tricky. Trust takes longer than love. Because you can only trust someone blindly when you love them. From the chain of broken pearls to the soft and patient unwinding of fairy lights... somewhere between that Arshi started trusting each other. And it strengthened when Arnav stepped up to dance with Khushi, strengthened again when despite all evidence against Khushi and Shyam, Arnav decided to confess his love to her... as if it was the last thing he had left to do. And later when he came to know about Garima's past, he trusted Khushi again. Because things aren't always as black and white as they look. Sometimes they're green 😉💚
5. Yellow for Worship (ibaadat)
What is love or partnership without worship? From strangers to enemies to lovers, at each stage Arnav has worshipped Khushi. Taken care of her in ways that she needed, in ways that people around her couldn't. Tangled feelings and arms entwined in one another's. A shower of gifts, a series of intoxicated confessions. Arnav may be an atheist but if he has worshipped someone apart from his family, that's Khushi. Khushi is as good as any religion to him.
6. Red for Madness (junoon)
The first thing when you think of Red is probably danger or hell-fire. And that's right too because the fierce fire they have isn't like any other. It burns and scathes. It leaves scars. It is a mad love. They hurt and insult each other, they shout at each other. Their egos are too big for one another. And when they're done hurting, they love each other just as fiercely too. ❤️
As Aakash ji has nicely put it, "Khushi ji thodi pagal hai na?". Arey Aakash ji, aapke bhai bhi thodi kam pagal hai? (Don't tell him I said that 🫢)
7. White for Death (maut)
Death is not always about dying. Well sometimes it is... like the time when Khushi nearly dies at the cliff and Arnav fin-fucking-ally kisses her but only for CPR 😒. Or when they both pretend to die on stage as star crossed lovers Heer & Ranjha.
But death is also about other things like the death of hierarchy between them when Khushi was no longer Arnav's employee. The end of anger between them during holi after days of fooling each other with farq nahi padta post contract marriage. The end of difficulties in their path (almost) when they were about to get married again, for reals. The death of distance between them, not just physically but emotionally too, when they spend the night at the hut after running away from the goons. Like they literally met at a grave (dargah) for their second encounter, no? 😌🤍
Accha toh tum padh li ho kaa? Haan, toh e par se tumka kachu toh banave ka pade, aage tumko khoon bhari taang hi samjhayegi okayyy?
Ab jao, thoda paani piyo aur humka bhi pila diyo haiin... Bahutay garmi hai aaj🔥 Hello hi bye bye!
Never mind sasuma, you guys! We're here to celebrate toh let's wish the couple first! A very very Happy 13th Anniversary to these two AND every single one of you who has loved them, adored and cherished them at some point!

Hi, Jalebi! When Arnav broke up with Lavenya she, though broken hearted, acted with grace and maturity. Given that it was he that ended things and given his dominance in their relationship do you think she could have manipulated it to get him to marry her anyway? I think the impression was given that it was a mutual decision. But, I watched the show as a non Hindi speaker so only got bits of the dialogue and analysis from blogs such as yours and Phati Sari’s among others. What are your thoughts?
Hey!
Arnav is really good at recognizing people and unlike male leads nowadays - he is extremely hard to manipulate.
Yes, at times he gives in to what his sister wants but that's out of love. He will happily construct a temple for his family in his house (despite him being an atheist) and he will accompany his family to go to a temple because he feels it is his personal responsibility to care for them.
He will happily have religious events and festivities in his house, he won't mind Akash marrying young nor mind multiple marriage rituals for Khushi because he's trying to fulfill her vision of a dream marriage.
Doing something you typically won't do for love is different from getting manipulated.
His family pressurizes and attempts to manipulate Arnav MULTIPLE times to get married. He doesn't. And it doesn't even wear him down.
Lavanya's inital secretary tries to catch Arnav's attention - he doesn't bat an eyelid.
Khushi tries to influence his mind about Lavanya and his relationship with her several times and he ONLY responds in anger, cuts off the conversation - and is never influenced by what she does/says.
His own perception of goodness, his own emotions might make him act in a behavior more aligned to what his family/Khushi expects and it might appear they're influencing him.
In fact, Arnav even uses Khushi's line of elders forgiving their younger ones to Khushi not because he's influenced by Khushi, he knows Khushi has a better vocabulary when it comes to things like this. He's well aware his blank one worded apology or him feeling bad does not even acknowledge the extent of which he has hurt his sister.
And I'm saying all of this because Lavanya is good human being, hence Arnav feels the guilt of breaking things off. However, the minute Lavanya changed intent, no matter how twisted things were, no matter if Arnav was responsible for Lavanya going bitter - he WOULDN'T be manipulated into getting married. He'd straight up call things off and show her the door.
Then the question is why was Shyam able to manipulate Arnav? One, Arnav's past trauma resurfaced that clouded his judgement. Shyam is extremely intelligent - he's a villain who is matched up to Arnav on every level. Three, Shyam played into Arnav's viewpoint as opposed to challenging it.
Had Shyam said anything ludicrous, anything out of Arnav's existing skepticism - then Arnav would've seen through Shyam (and Shyam was in Arnav's blindspot - Anjali).
Nobody can actually manipulate Arnav. He's too set in his ways.
Sometimes for the good.
And sometimes for the bad.
Best,
Jalebi

any ipk fic recs? i loved devi works!
hey! so i have this post where i've asked people to share arshi fics, incase you want to go through that. i've personally not read a lot of arshi fics (being new to the fandom myself!), however these are some that i enjoyed reading:
• sheesh mahal by @jalebi-weds-bluetooth
• rapture (veritas) by @phati-sari
i've also read the following but haven't finished them yet:
• khushi by jalebijane (a very well-known writer from the first generation fandom, good story-weaving but can contain mature themes like non-con)
• mohabat door jane na de by doe-eyes- (recommended by @featheredclover — checkout their blog for loads more of arshi ff recs!! this particular fic is very descriptive and canon-divergent, if you're into that)
• serendipity by zee (contains an original character; don't remember if there's cheating in that or not? i don't really like reading that trope)
• ek nayi zindagi by palaayan (an au where khushi is a psychologist and arnav is her patient)
• to love or not to love by shrattila (beware, manipulative!arnav in this story)
the last one was recommended by @msbhagirathi on the ipkknd discord server where we have a dedicated channel for fic-recs! (maybe you can ask someone on there who has read devi's works and understands the kind of fics you prefer! i personally haven't but you can definitely share a link below)
p.s. if anyone reading this wants to join the discord channel— the link expires in 7 days! please reach out in case you've missed out on the limit and are still interested in joining! edit: this is the never expire link to our discord server!
p.p.s i'm writing an arshi fic myself, so self advertising to banta hai ;)
• stitch by phuljari (ongoing fic, arnav and khushi reunite in a strange land after a decade, redemption fic, mind the tags!)

IPKKND Enneagram: Arnav Singh Raizada
Enneagram Type: 8 (The Challenger)
The Powerful, Dominating Type: Self-Confident, Decisive, Willful, and Confrontational
Arnav is strongly influenced by his basic type, with minimal wing influences from 7 and 9. Hence, I classify him as a pure Type 8, also called The Challenger or The Protector.
All gifs in this post are NOT by me, they're made by the these amazing people - @loveubarunsobti @phati-sari @jalebi-weds-bluetooth @arziaisfrench (also individually credited below each gif)
(if any of the folks above wish to have their gifs taken off this post, pls let me know, I'll do that!)
Here are some fun facts about type 8s. Tell me if it sounds familiar.
Basic Fear: Being controlled or harmed by others
Basic Desire: To protect themselves (to be in control of their own destiny)
At their best: Self- mastering, they use their strength to improve others' lives, becoming heroic, magnanimous, and inspiring. Caring, generous, and highly competent.
At their worst: Vengeful, ruthless, dictatorial, destructive, emotionally shut off. Use any means, including blackmail or violence, to get obedience from those around them, and recklessly over extend themselves in pursuit of their goals.
(Sidenote: I didn't paraphrase any of this...its taken verbatim from various sites...did the IPK makers refer to Enneagram type 8 when writing Arnav??? lol)
Understanding Arnav's Core Personality as an 8
As their name suggests, 8s love challenges. This is where they shine, this is what they enjoy. Arnav completely embodies this - he thrives when he is fighting to prove himself, loves setting challenges for others, and admires those who manage to compete at his level. I mean, this is basically the entirety of Arshi's courtship lmao.
Another one of Arnav's most 8-esque qualities is that he is a tremendously charismatic leader with a natural tendency towards taking charge and the innate ability to inspire people to follow him. 8s act quickly and decisively in stressful situations, seeking out logical, practical solutions, and taking charge of dealing with troubles. Hence, they often become the rock to cling on to in tough times. They are willing to take the heat for unpopular decisions that they judge to be right. Full of natural confidence, resourceful thinking and common sense, they strive to use their abilities to take care of everyone dependent on them. If they are the head of a family, fairly looking after everyone's needs is important to them. All of this is why he is the Raizada HBIC when he has like 5 elders in line before him. It's not just about the fact that he is AR Designs CEO/billionaire. The Raizadas implicitly trust him to take the right decisions for them because he has proved to be a worthy leader in crisis periods.
At the same time, a source of great annoyance for his family is another of his classic type 8 qualities - 8s do not fear public opinions and can easily defy disapproval if necessary. They will refuse to give in to social conventions that do not suit them, with zero shame or fear of consequences, which can seem inspiring, intimidating, or even infuriating, depending on where you stand lol.
Also like a typical 8, he is extremely ambitious and has impressive willpower which drives him to set, and usually achieve, big goals for himself. Be it his professional ambitions (successful) or his idiotic commitment to fighting his feelings for Khushi (vv unsuccesful; try again next time).
Arnav's shares both of the core fears of an 8. First, he fears being harmed by others. This doesn't imply Arnav is a coward who runs from a physical fight...the opposite. In fact, 8s have tremendous physical endurance, to the point where they are often harmfully negligent of their own health. Arnav has shown this trait repeatedly - the hot tea incident, the multiple times he fainted due to neglect etc etc. So Arnav's fear of harm is not about physical blows but more to do with emotional harm, specifically betrayal or abandonment. 8s absolutely hate the idea of being emotionally dependent on any one and often construct strong emotional armours to push people away and hide their paradoxical inner emotional vulnerability. Ummm...yeah. The turning his head away to hide his face any time a conversation with Anjali (or later Khushi) enters remotely emotional territory. How he makes it a point of pride that Arnav Singh Raizada NEVER says "sorry" or "happy birthday". And of course, the MANY times the extent of his passion towards Khushi freaks him out and he responds by pushing her away by any means possible.
Their second fear is that 8s are terrified of giving any one any power over them - be it social, psychological, sexual or physical. No matter what their sphere of life, retaining and increasing their power is extremely important to them. And Arnav is absolutely obsessed with power and control especially in the romantic/sexual/emotional realm. The most obvious example of this, of course, is how he seeks out romantic relationships that allow him to be minimally emotionally engaged, and where he has much of the control. After the first break up with Lavanya, his indifferent reaction may seem cold and almost cruel to us (and Khushi lol) but from his perspective, that's exactly his ideal relationship - where he remains totally unaffected by being dumped and his heart isn't involved at all. And then OF COURSE his entire relationship with Khushi is defined by this fear. So many of his actions in the show are motivated by a deep fear of the sheer intensity of what Khushi, the girl he is supposed to look down on/ignore/hate, makes him feel.
He is triggered as all hell whenever Khushi proves her totally unconscious power over him (physical or emotional). Such as Diwali when the feelings he has for her almost made him cheat, an action that is abhorrent to him and he is staggered, HORRIFIED by this fact. How does he react? By doing his DAMNDEST to re-exert a measure of control over the situation. The tremendous anger he feels there comes from a place of absolute fear at his loss of control because of the Khushi feelings. Her questions about the poolside moment and the payal highlight to him just how much power she has over him and how close she is to discovering it. And he launches his campaign of trying to "win" over those feelings, trying to erase them and revert to a position of absolute indifference to her and control over himself and his surroundings. Trying to double down on his commitment to the "safe" relationship with Lavanya, one that doesn't threaten his emotional safety one bit, that keeps his heart safe and sound locked away in a dungeon somewhere. Its an absolutely classic type 8 move to pursue a course of action that is not only harmful to others, but also to your own self and in opposition to your other priorities, just so you can prove a point to yourself about control control control. He does NOT believe in marriage or want to be married, certainly not to Lavanya; he doesn't want to be rude to and hurt Khushi and doing so hurts him also; he feels pain when she thinks badly of him or cries due to him - YET - he commits to this very course. He chooses to prioritize his ego, his need for control, over all other considerations, including his own happiness and peace of mind. While on this trip, the utmost need in his mind is to prove that those feelings for Khushi DO NOT control him, even if that means he keeps making choices that are deeply emotionally painful for him and everyone around him.
And if he can't erase or control the feelings, well, at the very least, NO ONE, least of all Khushi, the dangerous wielder of that scary power, should know any thing about them. That's why he does everything to push her away, down to hurling at her that IT DIDN'T MEAN ANYTHING. The gentleman doth protest too much.
This reading can be applied to so many of Arnav's actions, especially some of the cruellest ways he lashes out at Khushi when she has done nothing (at that moment) to really earn it. Like during the contract marriage, he is tortured by the fact that no matter how hard he tries, how much he intellectually loathes her, emotionally, he still feels concern for her. She betrayed him! The worst happened - his worst fear came true - he gave someone power over him and they used it to hurt him emotionally - and he can't even escape the cycle of pain, he has to live in it, every day he has to content with the fact that he harbours intense feelings that keep growing against his will for this traitorous person. It is a nightmare situation for an 8.
The more she starts affecting his mental, emotional and physical reactions in ways that shock him, the more triggered he gets and the more he either pushes her away or pulls her into toxic power games. This is his classic pattern from early on in their whatever-ship, from the increasingly unhinged office challenges post the red sari scene, to the farak padta hai games, to forcing her to marry him, to the entirety of the contract marriage.
It's also because of these core fears that 8s dislike any type of manipulative or lying behaviour. They do not appreciate being made a fool of or being emotionally blackmailed and will immediately be extremely suspicious of any outsider who attempts such things with them. The reason is that they ARE very vulnerable to emotional manipulation from loved ones - so they want to ensure they don't let people in who would take advantage of this weakness.
Arnav as a Stressed/Unhealthy 8
After the first Lavanya break up, Khushi hits a little too close to the truth when she asks Arnav "did you ever even love her at all? are you that heartless?" and Arnav's responds (in essence) "yes, I am heartless, and everything that has happened proved me right. love is a stupid illision and causes nothing but pain, we're better off without it". This is a CLASSIC unhealthy 8 that is totally blocked in his ability to love. Because love requires vulnerability and giving the other person power over you, which contradicts their basic drive for emotional autonomy. An unhealthy 8 is dominated by their core fears and that stops them from experiencing or expressing love in a healthy way.
An 8's hard working and ambitious nature, combined with their emotionally distant tendencies makes them prone to being workaholics and emotionally negligent. This can lead to dissatisfaction and complaints of neglect amongst loved ones. We saw Anjali complain about this multiple times, but it really hits home with Khushi post the kidnapping. After calling her the biggest mistake of his life, all he had to do was say sorry, I love you, I want to stay married to you forever, and Khushi would have forgiven and forgotten everything in an instant. His silence on the matter combined with his emotionally distant/volatile actions fans her insecurities to the point that she first attempts to, and then leaves. This breach is eventually healed only when they are able to have an honest, emotionally vulnerable communication about the nature of his feelings for her and their marriage (this is what the pearl necklace scene is supposed to be - there wasn't much verbal conversation but you know what I mean lol).
The funny thing is, underneath all that emotional coldness, 8s have a potent fear of rejection and abandonment. Subsequently, they are sensitive to any such indicators of dissatisfaction in loved ones. They hate to feel that a loved one is dissatisfied with them or misunderstanding them. This kicks in their fear that they have lost control of the situation - they may be about to be rejected and can do nothing about it. When in an unhealthy space, where they are still ruled by their core fears, they often react by resorting to bullying behaviours to assert their dominance and control over the situation. Even once Arnav, to a degree, accepts his feelings for Khushi, he still choses to woo her through "challenges" (the 24 hour track), blackmail (Buaji's house rent) and threats (I'll pick you up and take you with me if needed Khushi!). It's still extremely difficult for him to be emotionally vulnerable and communicative and leave himself open to being rejected. He prefers power games and challenges. He wants all the cards to always be in his hands.
Stressed 8s often become secretive, fearful, and guarded in their behaviours. The most terrifying thing an 8 can imagine is not merely to be cheated in love - it's to be cheated in love and then have that loved one mockingly laugh at their "victory" over them. I think Arnav does fear confronting Khushi about Shyam because, among other reasons, he can't face it if she also does a turn face like Shyam and starts a villain monologue laughing at him. He definitely knows they had some kind of flirtationship during the Payash wedding and he now believes that was her manipulating him in order to distract him - and it would be torturous to hear this confirmed from her mouth.
It's not just in the love/romance arena that Arnav's unhealthy 8 traits manifest. The Arnav we see in the beginning might be tremendously successful but he isn't exactly a mature, evolved professional. His extreme egoistic behaviour is proof of this. 8s often build up their ego as a defence against the world, becoming extremely sensitive to "slights" to their authority or self-respect. Combative and intimidating to anyone they perceive as a threat, they can become increasingly hard-hearted and cruel in a quest to retain power and "win" against threats. This is ASR at his worst.
Arnav's Journey to a Healthy 8
Khushi's love for him AND his love for her, plays a huge role in Arnav's journey to healing. 8s feel most content and secure when a loved one knows them, and accepts them unconditionally, as they are, no qualification or complaints; they are happiest with a partner, and a family, that has an instinctive understanding of their actions, their feelings, their motivations, without them having to say any of it out loud.
This is why Khushi's words "I know (that you love me) (you don't have to say it)" - both after he apologizes and before they consummate their relationship - hold so much meaning, and affect him so deeply. This is the assurance that he craves, someone who innately just gets him.
Arnav's decision making process on his second wedding day truly embody the moves of a healing 8. Healthy 8s who have overcome their deepest fears, can recognize their paranoia for what it is. They move towards devaluing the importance of "power" and "control" especially in their personal life and make a conscious choice to prioritize real needs (their own and others) over their ego or their fears. Arnav choses love over hatred, hope over fear, and that's an 8 stepping into their best self.
Evolved 8s are open-hearted and caring; they channel the best of their abilities to become passionate yet generous, resourceful yet empathetic, and authoritative yet honourable; a true leader worth following.
Wings - 7 or 9?
Like I said earlier, I classify Arnav as a purer type 8 with minimal influence of his wings. However, between the two, I would say he has a greater influence of his "9" wing than "7" wing.
The 7 wing adds a taste for experiencing life to the fullest and a gregarious, extroverted, risk-taking side to an 8s personality. I considered 8w7 for Arnav because I do think he has a taste for the finer things in life, he has a powerful charismatic aura, and is comfortable with taking risks; but ultimately I discounted it because I don't think any one in their right mind could call him "extroverted" or "gregarious" in the slightest. I also don't think he is experience-oriented like a 8w7 would be, his ambitions are more concerned with his own business, his family, and his power, not with "living life to the fullest".
The 9 wing too does not appear to be a great fit at first glance - 9s are pretty much the opposite of 8s, being peaceful, conflict-avoidant and complacent. These aren't words I associate with ASR lol. Yet, this is what I chose ultimately. The 9 wing supposedly adds a soothing, family-oriented effect to the dominating and wilful 8 personality. Arnav is definitely very family-oriented. Additionally unhealthy 8w9s often exhibit an almost scary duality - a calm, gentle nature with loved ones and then an aggressive mode when faced with threats, at work, etc. ASR/Chotte/Arnavji. Rakshas/Rajkumar. And remember Khushi's comically shocked face when she saw ASR-at-home avatar for the first time?
Early days office Arnav reminds me a lot of 8w9s. 8w9s often combine indifference with aggression, often employing cold, depersonalized violence to exert control over others. Behind their calm and seemingly emotionless demeanour hides an explosive and unpredictable temper. Check and check.
Consider the name of the 8w9: The Bear. Aggressive and scary to outsiders, cuddly with their loved ones. Firm and decisive, but also measured and cooperative. Isn't that Arnav? Especially the Arnav we are left with at the end of the show? I believe Arnav started out a strong 8 with a slight 9 wing influence, but as he matured over time, his natural tendency for the 9 wing also developed in a healthy manner, and he became calmer, more accommodating, more openly loving.
#ipkknd#enneagram#arnav singh raizada#fun to do but post turned out much longer than i though it would!#Arnav was so easy to type. both bc he is so well written and bc he fits the most stereotypical 8 template so well lol

Phati-Sari, Happy Diwali! I spent a lot of time on your episode analysis of 110-111-112 this Diwali—just because ’tis the season. How do you get into Arnav's headspace so well? It's almost like you have a mirror to his soul. I keep revisiting your blog; thank you so much for the wonderful content. I hope you return someday.
Happy (belated) Diwali @chaiandtakkar :)
LOL on Diwali itself, I caught myself thinking 'Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai' is a perfect Diwali song and then had to stop and remind myself that no one in the world except an IPKKND fan would think that.
Thank you very very much for the compliment, I super appreciate it!
Not sure about returning. I mean, I will ... one day. But right now life is just chaotic and sad and sometimes happy but often grey, and I'm not where I need to be to interact with people and to enjoy the experience of being in fandom (even though ours is wonderful).
Thank you thank you, and take loads of care!

A Note On Arnav & Cravats
In the show, initially, we had Arnav wearing cravats. Yeah. That's what they are called. The cloth worn around the neck. Even I didn't know until I read about it. Thanks to Phati Sari's recaps.
So in the first episode itself, we see, Arnav, changing outfits twice. One is the intro sequence and the other the fashion show look.
Although they got rid of the cravats after a few episodes. The tie looks kinda looked neat, I think that's why they swapped it with the cravat. But, those actually did look nice. Coz everything he wears is droolworthy. Coz Sobti himself is droolworthy.
*Ahem* *Ahem*
What?
I just said that Sobti looks good in everything he wears, that's it.
By the way, here's a short video I made (my first!) of my favorite cravat look of Arnav.
I don't exactly know what did I like about this look apart from the cravat. Maybe, it's the color combination of the shirt, jacket and the cravat itself or the coloring in this frame. It's just a treat to my eyes.
Btw, I liked that top. Sonia where did you buy it from?
Also, Sonia's look was perfect. It's just if the heels instead of being red could have been of the same color as the top.
Also, after seeing this scene my immediate thought- "La's a bitch."
So much so that I had actually started hating her.

amazing analysis op! i think even phati-sari mentioned something about this sequence being a shared hallucination which makes sense because:
a. not only is arnav in his sherwani during the real sequences
b. but even khushi's hairstyle is that from before the dance
i mean, the writing was top-notch but something went awry with the editing because it was never addressed :(
A confession of love in form of a dance performance. But it's the change of costume which is in question here. was that a production mistake? or was that intentional? we might never know. But we can analysis it to death.😎
Let me consider this.
Then when he stepped into the dance floor,he was Arnav, devoid of all of his facades. And he danced with her without any resistance, he put his heart out in that dance floor to her. When the main dance performance ended, there was some flashbacks with rabbaves. The first one is their first meeting. He was still Arnav.
Then they flashbacked to a time when the line between Arnav and ASR was almost blurred.
Then with the memory of mannat ka chabi, khushi somehow reminded of the duality in him. The dichotomy of Arnav Singh Raizada, who despite not believing in God,went to the dargah. With that memory, he was back to his ASR avatar.
Then they recalled the moments when khushi was punished by ASR for making a dent in his sheild. she was punished by ASR for the weakness Arnav showed.
Then they came across a very intimate moment between them, where it didn't matter whether he was Arnav or ASR,what mattered was their emotion toward each other and with that memory he was again her Arnav ji.
That Arnav ji, in whose arm,she could come undone, that Arnav ji, who prevented her fall when she fainted due to fasting, that Arnav ji,who helped her find her way in the circle of diyas and almost kissed her in dewali. And Arnav singh raizada realized that despite denying and resisting so much, despite ASR's fighting tooth and nail against Arnav,he could not help but fall madly in love with her.
Arnav singh raizada stepped on the dance floor as Arnav but stepped down as ASR. Meanwhile the family and guests might had seen him only wearing the sherwani, but to khushi and to the audience and to himself also, he showed the vulnerable side of him. Khushi was loved not only by Arnav but also by ASR. Every version of Arnav singh raizada loved that 'pagal but cute' girl, who became his heartbeat without his awareness.
And with that came a realization that he could be both Arnav and ASR with her, without suppressing the other. There was no need of any push of pull or any fighting of dominance between Arnav and ASR. Finally he found someone with whom he could be both,he could be himself.
My Scattered thoughts (7/?)

Hey Jalebi. How are you? I discovered your blog last year while rewatching IPKKND. Your and Phati-Sari's blogs are my favorite. Both of your blogs were really helpful in clearing some of my confusions that I always had regarding the show.
As you recently answered a question regarding Lavanya. I wanted to ask you a question about Lavanya's track. You don't have to answer if you have already answered it before. I couldn't find anything regarding this in the blog so I am asking. I recently re watched those episode where La n Arnav had their first break up and then he brought her back. I couldn't understand what Arnav was thinking bringing her back to his house. Cause from their previous argument it was obvious their relationship has changed. Even though when they started the relationship they were both on the same page. Now they both want different things from the relationship. Lavanya wouldn't have settled for anything less than marriage and Arnav wouldn't marry her. So they did the right thing by breaking up. But when he brought her back, I am sure it only raised La's hope and his family's too. La and his family thought that he must have changed his decision about marraige. But that wasn't the case. His and Lavanya's relationship was stuck in a loop, there was no going forward unless he wants to marry her. So why did he even brought her back when he clearly wasn't thinking about marraige? What was he planning to do exactly?
Btw I am glad to find someone who has same opinion as me about BD. I thought I was the only one who didn't enjoy the show. It's really sad though because I loved Barun n Ridhi in Asur and was really excited to watch them in a romantic show. But I felt they had more chemistry in Asur than this show. How did you find Kohrra?
Hello Anon!
Thank you for the love <3 <3 <3
Regarding Arnav and Lavanya; Arnav brought her back for two reasons - for Khushi and his family. The wonderful thing about IPK is that it's never direct, it's not going to spoon-feed you what every character is feeling so the audience gets a lot of room to interpret everything.
In my opinion, bringing back La showed Khushi that Arnav does have a heart
and his family was distressed without La. Apart from Nani - whose opinion Arnav doesn't really care about - everyone loves La and Arnav is actually content seeing his family at piece as now La and his family have become a unit.
Anjali comes up to Arnav and tells him one thing - "I'm so happy you did this Chote," and that means everything for Arnav - his Di's happiness.
But he is incredibly conflicted with Khushi's tears because he did what she wanted and she's still hurt, and yes - Arnav and La's relationship had irreparable damage and you can see from this point onwards Arnav has no commitment - nothing - towards La. Also this is the point where he actively begins to emotionally cheat on her.
He's more concerned about Khushi, his world starts revolving around her. La just doesn't exist. Up until this point La was an active person in his life. Even in their argument they're fighting like a couple and post the breakup everything disappears between Arnav and La.
They don't talk. They don't fight. They don't laugh... nothing.
And Lavanya panics, she knows everything has changed - she panics further when Khushi decides to leave because Khushi being here is a reminder that Lavanya is being 'groomed' to be a bahu - without Khushi, La needs to face the reality of being a part of this family without a buffer and actually being Mrs. Arnav Singh Raizada. Which is a cold, empty identity of being a man's wife who is invested in... nothing.
But still, love makes one choose the worst decisions and she decided to still come back because at least she's in Arnav's house. It's a sad decision.
For Arnav, marriage with Lavanya is a practical decision and it would've ultimately been that. Lavanya truly loves the family and vice versa (he's genuinely happy seeing both parties care for each other) and it puts Nani away from his back and Lavanya is someone who understands Arnav (even though he no longer understands himself).
So it's a perfect compromise (he doesn't realize how shitty he is as a partner until it's too late - he jolts into reality when during Satyanarayan Puja La was happy because he didn't yell at her and it's a slap on his face on wtf is he as a partner).
And yeah, Kohrra was fab! Just really some solid storytelling tbh.
Best,
Jalebi

I'm back at home with some free time these days and (obviously) also re-watching IPK and it is as always inspiring many thoughts! Thinking of applying my lifelong obsession with ahem totally casual and not at all crazy interest in various personality sorting models to IPK but theres too many options and I don't know where to start.
Currently mulling: Enneagram types, love languages, detailed zodiac sun/moon/rising, and SHC style primary/secondary house sorting.
But yeah shout out to @phati-sari @jalebi-weds-bluetooth @honeybellexox who have all done some amazing posts on some of these topics. I'm too lazy to search the links but if interested, you can use the search function on their blogs to find house sorting, MBTI and zodiac types (among others!).
#ipkknd#im sorry if i missed anybody out i have actually read many amazing posts on these topics#these are the ones i read most recently so they spring to mind#i love these kinds of posts so I'd love recommendations too if you've got any!
