Fuck she's lightheaded. At first, Jacob's words don't register as they swim with the other half-formed thoughts in her head. She's got a nice slice, just below her ribcage on her left side that's bleeding like a sonofabitch and while she knows she needs to stay awake, it's starting to become harder and harder to do so. The shot of pain that rings through her as Jacob lifted her from her spot on the floor wakes her right up, however, and is accompanied by a whining yelp.
"I'm--I'm gonna slow you down." She pants through gritted teeth, her arm looping around his neck to at least try to help support her weight. "Jake, you gotta just--There's gotta be someplace you can stash me and then you gotta go." For his sake, she smiles as best she can, lashes fluttering over her partially unfocused gaze as she battles against the lightheadedness, "I'm gonna be okay." She doesn't believe that. She's starting to feel cold. "But we can't both get hurt. We're not gonna make it out if that happens."
Jacob knows that moving her wasn't ideal. That he should call for help- apply pressure. If there was a first aid kit, which there was- somewhere, he should get it, do his best to clean the wound, get it bandaged if he can.. but there isn't time for that. She's weak, and growing weaker. Luckily enough, he's used to carrying people what with his time back home spent as a volunteer firefighter. "I'm not gonna leave you." He stated stubbornly. For all he knew they were all that was left.
"Just.. stay with me, okay? I'm going to get us to the office. Once we're there I'm going to take care of you, okay?" He informs her of his plan, talking her through it while he moves hastily towards the building. He's pleading- if there is a God to plead to, that they make it there safe, that she can hold on just a little longer. He can feel her blood on him, and with it a tightness forms in his throat. The situation was truly fucked. "We're not far. It's going to be okay." He makes that promise as if he has any power to enforce it.

Jessica's hands are shaking. There's blood, sticky and turning dark, up her arms and her eyes are wide as she ambled into the main room of the dining hall from where she'd been hiding in the pantry. She'd heard Jacob's voice and at first, she'd thought it might've been a trick. The killer that'd murdered her roommate trying to bait her out of her hiding spot by sounding like Jacob, but that was insane. No more insane than the night they were all trapped in, but still. "I'm sorry--" She murmured, turning her attention up to Jacob's face, her bottom lip trembling as she allowed relief to wash through her. She wasn't alone.
"He--" Her voice cracked, "He killed Sarah right in front of me." The redhead had wanted to fight, had actually managed to pull her dying friend away from the killer for a brief moment before the other girl was tugged away from her. It was her blood that was smeared on Jessica's arms and clothes. "I didn't know what to do so I hid, I'm so sorry." Fat tears rolled down her cheeks as her breath hitched, "Why is this happenin'?!"
Jacob doesn't know what's happening; All he knows is that the camp has gone freakishly quiet. It was the weekend before camp, which the counselors always spent in preparation- though most of the time was spent partying, and enjoying the lack of responsibilities the outside world forced upon them. It was his home away from home, and suddenly he found that many of the people were missing. Some stupid prank amping up to its big crescendo he figures.
As he scanned her, taking in the scene he realized it was not just some sick prank. That the blood he'd seen on the docks was real, not some FX that one of the other counselors thought would make for a good stunt. "There.. was blood-" He shook his head. "Sarah's dead?" He repeats and the disbelief was apparent in his tone. "Fuck.. Uh.. We should get to the office." He states. In the office, there was a radio- if it hadn't already been sabatoged.

Jacob's brows pull together; maybe it wasn't that he thought she was never scared.. but she seemed to be able to pull from a place of keeping it together that he'd never really had within himself. It just wasn't in him to step up and lead; or at least, he doesn't think that it is.
He listens to her explain, and it does make sense; she was a leader whether she liked it or not. Unfortunately, they were very much in need of a leader. He watches as she bandages her leg, worry setting in deep. It's mixed with the guilt of this all being his fault- which, she hasn't called him on just yet.
"I wouldn't dare tell a soul." He replied, raising his hands as he peaked out the window for just a second. No giant monsters that he could see- before he moved further into the room. If he's going to be trapped in this impossible scenario, he's glad it's with her. They'd known each other the longest, and.. she was one hell of a shot. He felt safe with her in many ways. "Think this will be over when the sun comes up?"
“How is it you’re never scared?”
───── Kaitlyn arched a brow up at Jacob; she'd been bandaging her leg when her attention was drawn to her best friend like in a state of pure whiplash.
"You really think I never get scared? Like, seriously?" Maybe the lighting was just off enough that he couldn't see how pale she was from being in pain, the ridging in her brow from trying to maintain her composure. Sure, she was the type to keep up a brave face, full of noise and bravado, but....of all people, she thought Jacob had known her long enough to see through her bullshit.
"Of course I get scared. I just...I'm just so used to being "in charge", I guess. Doesn't do much good if everyone knows I'm shit-my-legging-scared when I'm supposed to be the one in control of the situation. Especially here, when the kids are around." Offering him a shaky little smirk, she pointed a finger at him. "I'm telling you this because no one will believe you~"

"You do?" Jacob questioned, surprised that he hadn't learned that already. Then again, he was often stuck in his head about school work- how he was going to manage to keep his grades up enough to play sports.. to keep his scholarship. Even with tutoring it was an uphill battle.
"You don't have to go." Jacob finds himself saying rather quickly. The library had been quiet, but it was almost too quiet. "It was kind of.. eerily silent in here." He stated. "Which also makes it hard for me to focus." He admits. "Which.. makes no sense but here we are."
There’s a little nod of his head. “Y-Yeah uh, I get it. I uhm. Kinda got-got used to it. I have a uh…. A bunch of siblings.” Which is true! Not a lie! Sometimes they were louder than the spirits who were constantly looking over his shoulder. So despite how much he hates noise, he usually just works through it, happily making use of the desks that came with their dorms.
"We-Well uhm, I can uhm. I can find a book, or something? Maybe like, sit somewhere else. I really don't want to like. Add to the distraction, or anything." Because he knows how much Jacob cares about his work, even if this might be the first time he's actually caught him studying. "You uh. You were here first, obviously."

There's something within Jacob that can sense the panic raising within them. That same something overwrote his own panic about the situation; before he processes it, he's standing in front of them, hands resting on their shoulders. "Hey," He states in a tone that's uncharacteristically serious but soft.
"We are going to get out of here, okay? Listen to me.." He doesn't know how, but he's going to make this right. He's going to get them to safety. "We just.. we have to stay inside." That's what Chris had wanted, right? It must be safe inside.. "As long as we're quiet, it'll be okay." But then.. there were the other counselors, and where were they?
"Yeah. It's fuckin'... this is...." They cannot even find the words for what they want to say. What is there to say? Aside from the fact that they were all going to die, and going through the lodge for some kind of weapon kind of felt like a joke. It feels kind of like they can't breathe actually. And-
Oh fuck, they're panicking, aren't they?
An attempt is made at a deep breath, but they just can't seem to do it right. "Fuck." They steady themselves with a nearby wall, but it only does so much. "Fuck, Jake, we're gonna fucking die, aren't we?"

Jacob doesn't know if this thing will go away when the night is over, or if the room they're in is even truly safe. Whatever it was, it was huge, and unlike anything he'd ever seen before. He asks the question, and truthfully he doesn't expect them to have an answer; how could they? While they search the drawers, he finds himself scanning the room for weak points, weapons- anything. If the Hackett's knew this was a thing, then there had to be something within the walls of the lodge... right? "Seems like we're in a damn movie." He stated, as the guilt truly started to dig into his gut. He had to get them out; he had to save everyone- it was all his fault.
