I know it's not in the spirit of genderless alien robots or letting people make whatever they want to make but sometimes it bothers me how often Pharma in particular get holoformed/humanized as a woman bc as one of the few/first canonically gay men in Transformers it kind of feels. like. kind of bad taste to do but I've never seen anyone talk about it except me in private convos w/ one or two friends sidnsjcjd

Decided to shake up the constant Gravity Falls asks on the blog (even though I adore them). What is your favorite transformers continuity? And what's your favorite character from that continuity?

Tough call, but probably IDW1. The comics had room to get expansive in ways the show-based continuities couldn't, and I like that feeling of bigness to the universe. It introduced a lot of my favorite Transformers lore: forged vs cold constructed bots, Functionism (especially as a critique of marrying religion to conservative politics), empurata, really creative uses of holoforms, conjunx endura & amica endura (and queer bots, let's give it up for queer bots!!), the complex network of lost colonies, the idea that the gods definitely officially existed BUT they were just guys, the DJD...

All the work that went into immediate pre-war culture with the turbulent corrupt senate and the corrupt Primes was terrific. LSOTW and SOTW are just so damn good, MTMTE up through Remain In Light was brilliant, and Getaway's coup was great. I'm thrilled we got a look at Cybertron's relationships with the rest of the galaxy and it turns out they're hated, because that makes perfect sense but we never really see that. The post-war politics on Cybertron were really fun. I was skeptical IDW could pull off writing about a post-war Cybertron—I assumed within a year they'd default back to restarting the war—and then that ended up being when the whole series really started to shine.

Introduced some characters I love—Drift, Tarn, Stardrive, Windblade, and Pharma stand out off the top of my head. Amazing artwork, especially whenever Milne had the pen. ABSOLUTELY LOVED seeing Starscream get to rule Cybertron. Even though they had trouble committing to it, I appreciate that they had the balls to make Optimus morph into a well-intentioned villain. Love the tragic former senator Shockwave characterization. Love the lonely logical Prowl who can see the Autobots' flaws too clearly for his own good and in his desperation to compensate for the rest of the army morally compromised his way into becoming the villain. Love horrible amoral Tarantulas with his small shining moments of love and tenderness.

Although by the end it was getting really bloated with other Hasbro property crossovers, I did like some of the crossovers they introduced: GI Joe slid in pretty seamlessly—probably helps that TF & GI Joe crossovers have an established history—and I was surprised a how much I liked Rom. And even though the sheer quantity of crossovers got tedious, the concept of going "they've all been dragged into this story because they were all affected by Cybertron's past colonialism" is GREAT.

Love that they ended the story by swinging from "yay look at all these fun new colonies for us to play with!" to "oh my god the Autobots are colonizers." LOVE that they ended with Unicron—every longform Transformers series could end with Unicron and I probably wouldn't complain—and that they let him eat some planets, let him eat half the cast, LET HIM EAT CYBERTRON... and characterized him not as some random bogeyman but specifically as the karmic vengeance for Cybertron's past colonial crimes. Love that the only way to stop him was not by killing him, but by acknowledging that Cybertron was wrong and showing him compassion.

IDW didn't always get things right with their attempted grand messages about politics and injustice and oppression and colonization—but, hell, even when they didn't quite hit the bullseye I love that they were playing with that dartboard.

Favorite character from IDW is Prowl (albeit not without stiff competition). I'm a gleeful Prowl apologist. Yeah he did those terrible things but he was right tho. I started picking up RID & MTMTE right when Prowl got Devastatored, and that was both the thing that made me go "oh hold on the comics are doing something interesting" and the thing that made me take notice of Prowl as a character for the first time in my life lmao. BIG fan of his messy lovelife. (Personally I go "he's too good for Chromedome" and then ship him with the Constructicons and Tarantulas, who are objectively far worse than Chromedome.) He's endlessly fascinating to me, one of my favorite characters to read and one of my favorite characters to write.

Right up there is Starscream—averaged out across all continuities, Starscream's probably my #1 favorite Transformers character, and IDW Starscream is my favorite Starscream, a perfect blend of the bombastic G1 campy villain and the wary, competent, resilient TFP schemer. And Tarantulas rounds out my top 3, I loved him in Beast Wars and then SOTW 3 happened and I had to stop at nearly every panel Tarantulas was in to go "oh my god, this is canon? They got away with that??" Read like a fanfic in the best possible way. "We were each the muse to the other" still has an iron grip on my heart. "I want YOU. I want US." God. SOTW 3 is a masterpiece of literature. Here, do you want a 130k no-war AU where Prowl and Tarantulas are paranormal investigators together? You can have it. For free.

I just spent a lot of time singing the praises of IDW but shoutout to Armada and Energon/Super Link (I preferred the fansub over the dub) for getting me into Transformers, wouldn't be in this fandom today if not for Starscream's beautifully melodramatic redemption arc in Armada. I'm not saying they're good. I'm saying I love them. Totally different thing.

Had people asking for some more of my headcanons for bots human holoform so here is Part 2.

First my two different favourites for Soundwave depending on continuation

Pharma and Tarn, wanted to keep Tarn with the faceless military man.

Swindle and Knockout: hehehe, stinky salesman and my favourite model man.

Swerve and Bumblebee these two just suit so well. Swerve looks so fizzed up and I love it.

Arachnid, Alita and Arcee: let them be buff woman!!!

Blaster and Nightbeat: this duo would slap so hard at the club.

Now we are down to the ocs I was asked to share what their holoforms look like and I decided to give you guys Shockwave and Tiny as well. So

Sure! I decided to keep this general :) Sorry if it's bad since I made it a general take.

Yandere! Optimus Prime vs Megatron

Human Darling - No Particular Version

Pairing: Romantic - Rivalry

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Dehumanization, Overprotective behavior, Violence, Kidnapping, Manipulation, Possessive behavior, Cybertronian/Human pairing, Dubious/Forced relationship, Sadism, Isolation.

Ah yes, the Autobot and Decepticon leader fighting each other once again over something.

This is a good time to explain what I mean when I say Autobots and Decepticons lean towards a certain yandere type.

I always picture Yandere Autobots falling towards the overprotective attribute while Yandere Decepticons tend to display a more sadistic yandere type.

Optimus Prime and Megatron are very good examples of this.

Autobots tends to want to protect those they hold dear.

While Decepticons tend to take what they want.

This rule doesn't apply to everyone (For example, Pharma from the IDW comics is technically Autobot but has Decepticon traits due to working with them), yet it's a default many Cybertronians display.

Optimus Prime and Megatron, being leaders of their respective factions, would be the pinnacle of this.

Optimus Prime's goal with a human, especially if they were human, would be to protect them at all costs.

Autobots would get along with human darlings the most, Prime is no exception.

Optimus Prime already feels responsible for a team of Autobots, who that is depends on the version.

They are like his family.

A human darling would be kept very safe with him.

For this concept I'd say you'd most likely be a supporter of the Autobots.

Most humans are.

As a result you are the closest to Optimus Prime.

Prime has no idea how to display his affection to you that would br acceptable between humans and Cybertronians.

To be fair many Cybertronians don't.

As a result he settles for simple things like holding/carrying and words.

If he has a holoform in this that would be a good way to communicate too.

The biggest issue is his size when it comes to showing you he cares.

He loves you and it is romantic yet you wouldn't be able to tell unless he told you.

Optimus Prime is considerate of how a relationship with you would affect you and actually listens to you for the most part.

You are one of the people he cares for the most.

Optimus Prime's softer and more protective affection is different from Megatron's intense and destructive affection.

Being the leader of the Decepticons he is less willing to work with humans.

Megatron would see his human darling as a lesser being to him.

Optimus Prime talks to you like you're an equal, an ally who fights alongside him.

Megatron treats you like a pet even if he feels romantic attraction towards you.

He feels powerful when he holds you, he likes the sadistic pleasure your fear gives him.

He loves the feeling of you being his.

With Megatron the relationship leans more towards what Megatron wants than you.

You most likely met Optimus Prime by being saved by the Autobots.

You most likely met Megatron by an attack that the Autobots saved you from or you were kidnapped from the Autobots after meeting them.

The power struggle between the two factions now has a new reason to push.

Their leaders happen to like a particular human... and one of them will have you in the end.

Optimus Prime is the one you have a higher chance of having a "normal" relationship with.

As normal as having a romantic relationship with an overprotective Autobot can go, at least.

Megatron likes the idea of owning you, plus having you and making you fall for him can hurt Optimus.

Which is what Megatron wants more than anything.

The two would definitely fight brutally with each other over you.

However, it's primarily Megatron who aims to kill.

Megatron is easily the worst yandere of the two.

Even a "relationship" with him still makes you feel inferior.

The dynamic is one wants to genuinely provide for you, while the other wants to own you.

Autobots are never the most intense yanderes but Optimus Prime would do whatever he can to keep you with him and safe.

I can't think of him killing or brutally harming someone but he would isolate you.

Megatron would kill and brutally harm others to have you.

Decepticons do have the potential to harm others to have what they want.

Megatron would do this more than anyone to have you, even if you are an organic.

It's no doubt you'd benefit the most from Optimus Prime, yet Megatron will always be a threat trying to take you from the Prime.

Their fighting over you will persist about as long as it takes for the war to end or you expire.

Two titans of immense power fighting for their own desires.

All with you caught in the middle.

The moment you're in the hand of one, the other plucks you from them.

If the war ends and you're somehow alive, perhaps they will compromise?

It's unlikely but that would be one of the only chances you experience peace... if not with one of them dead.

A rivalry between Optimus and Megatron is about as destructive as you think.

The two already fight each other enough as is.

Until the war ends, you'll never know peace...

As long as they're both alive, they'll search for you.... Regardless of who wins you fear for your future.

[ROUND ONE] Cybertronian Homesick Blues vs Remain in Light

A quick summary/refresher for each storyline is under the cut including TFWiki links:

Cybertronian Homesick Blues: the shore leave episode! Everyone goes to have a good time on Hedonia, holoforms are introduced, people make trouble, and Swerve narrates for us. Well, actually for his “friend” Blurr, but that doesn’t work out. TFWiki link.

Remain in Light: the “series one” finale, where the crew winds up arrested by Magnus’ boss Tyrest following Magnus being near-lethally injured, and they find out he’s lost his shit and is about to kill most of the Cybertronian population remotely. Pharma’s back! Getaway shows up! Minimus is revealed! Rodimus gets crucified! And, finally, Tailgate’s Cybercrosis is resolved when Cyclonus lovingly stabs him. TFWiki.

💊 headcanons: random info

Some random lil tidbits of info cuz im too lazy to add em all to my about page and such. But my Pharma does have a human holoform (may eventually make a human verse idk yet) but his human alias is Phineas!

Pharma does not have a T-Cog. His T-Cog was the first one he ever gave to Tarn, and even though I have him revived for my main verse, he is still missing that piece. He considers it a price for his revival. Pharma has NOT told anyone thusfar about the fact he gave away his own T-Cog, and it is not common knowledge unless he brings it up. But due to this he cannot transform.

My Pharma is also, sorry to all the fans out there, not a scrawny lil twink, but more so bulky. To put it to a human equivalent, he would be kind of center heavy. I see a lot of cool fanart for Pharma, but personally I think it would be neat to see a little more diversity in terms of "body types" and thus my pharma is more on the pudgy side. This does not in anyway mean his strength is any less. He is a large mech not just by width but also height, and has a lot of strength to him. Not necessarily enough to overpower people like Tarn or the like, but enough to take on individuals if necessary.

Not sure if the humanformers/holoforms episode will happen in The Wicked, but if it does Pharma's holoform is gonna look like a guy wearing a doctor's coat but underneath he's wearing inpatient facility pajamas w/ the grippy socks and everything, not even any shoes (bc it represents how Pharma is a doctor but feels deeply insecure about his diagnosis and being publicly seen as a weird mentally ill guy) with a face mask, sunglasses, and a hat/cap on (because he hides as many of his feelings as he can to look innocuous and normal and safe).

To be completely fair, the Joker was probably dead after the first hit. What idiot runs in front of an ambulance going full throttle with lights and sirens? Why the Joker crossed the road will go forever unanswered.

The Red Hood was bleeding out inside him while Ratchet's holoform worked on him. It was kind of hard not to notice the giant thunk. Never mind, Ratchet was busy freakin out, torn by the patient inside him and the one whose body had just been thrown behind him by the impact.

"What happened?" Hood slurred.

Ratchet peered out his own back windows. The face was a bit of a mess, but he knew that suit.

"I think we just hit the Joker," Ratchet said.

Ratchet caught sight of a huge grin beneath the cracked helmet. "Better hit him again, Doc."

Well, if First Aid could shoot Pharma...

Ratchet backed up with a squeal of tires, rolled over something squishy, and then peeled out toward Leslie's.

Whirl brought home the Joker's dead body like a cat, presenting a dead bird. He swore disappointedly that he'd found him like that, and Harley and Ivy sent Batman selfies of them posing with the body.

The Red Hood refuses to explain why Leslie's new medic friend is now his favorite person in the world. Ratchet has a sense of history repeating himself.

Some opinions down below on why I think these specific characters would be funny to see in this scenario;

-Nightbeat is a detective. Gotham is full of crime. See where I'm getting at? Also, it would be funny if he just casually figured out the batfams secret identities, went "neat" and then just moved on to the next mystery.

-Rodimus would 100% try to become a vigilante. Creates a heroic looking holoform (that looks way to flashy for anything in Gotham) and uses his alt mode as his own batmobile. Batman would find out about his true identity by the end of the week.

-I want to see Megatron accidentally create a criminal empire. Like, he tries so hard to appear like a normal human while trying to find a way home, maybe even opens a cafe or some shit as cover, but he keeps on attracting the attention of criminals. Suddenly he's got hundreds of goons devoted to him, following his every order. Call that warlord rizz.

-Whirl for the same reason as Megatron except he does it on purpose. He wanna do crime! Be a rogue (but one of those cool ones like Poison Ivy and Catwoman)! And punch the Joker. Fuck, he really hates the Joker.

-It would just be funny to see Prowl in this hellhole of a city. Gotham's crime rate is 100%, the cops are corrupt, the law is upheld by vigilantes. Look me in the eyes and tell me that he wouldn't have a fucking seizure. Would kill the Joker for stress relief.

-Look, Starscream would hate the city but he would make it work. He'd make his own place, forge connections, create his own criminal empire. And totally try and seduce Bruce Wayne. You know, for the money and power.

-Grimlock gets found by Robin. Robin sees giant, fire breathing, robot t-rex and goes "hmm, yes, you're mine now" and keeps him a secret from the rest of the batfam.

-Brainstorm would fucking thrive in Gotham. He's a mad scientist, he would have so much fun taking apart the weapons and equipment of Gotham's rogues and vigilantes. Not to mention creating his own. He'd steal the batmobile only to return it two days later, upgraded and decked out with the most insane tech.

-Soundwave has an adoption problem. Batman has an adoption probem. You see my vision? Also, I want him to adopt Robin. And Robin just accepts it because now he gets to hang out with Ravage, Buzzsaw, Laserbeak and Ratbat. Alternatively, just Ravage in Gotham because that would be funny too.

-Rewind thinks Gotham is fucking WILD and he's planning on getting it all on tape so he can show his friends later. He stalks the batfam on their patrols, sneaks into the secret bases of rogues, just to get those good action shots.

-Similar to Prowl, Ultra Magnus would be so fucking vexed by Gotham but while Prowl goes "I FUCKING HATE THIS CITY AND EVERYONE IN IT!", Ultra Magnus has a major case of "I can fix them".

Pharma is an Autobot who was manipulated by the D.J.D but I would not say he goes by all of their morals.

Sorry if I'm wrong but I don't think Pharma is all that against organics.

He isn't one to actively try to kill them off, so he's in the middle when it comes to humans.

He probably hasn't met many due to organics not usually being a Delphi.

The planet it resides on is a mining facility so organics don't typically stick around.

For this concept I'll say you are an exception, you're an organic that Pharma met around Delphi.

That or you can choose some other means, I'm not really focusing on how you met.

I'm more going to focus on how Pharma would act with a human.

I feel Pharma would be overall okay with a human if he met them around his time at Delphi.

Any time before the whole rust incident and Pharma making deals with Tarn he's decent to be around.

He's a control freak though and you being an organic probably still sparks that trait.

Probably even more, actually.

At first he thinks keeping a human around may be messy.

His jobs works with the Cybertronian medical field so he'd typically keep a human out of the way.

Others know you are technically Pharma's human companion.

Yet they never bother complaining or talking about it.

It's his business.

Pharma could take care of a human, ordering supplies is a bit difficult but he manages.

Plus, since you're around Autobots so often, you begin to learn their anatomy.

It's actually nice to help Pharma with his job.

Your relationship is a bit complicated.

You see him as a great doctor, a trusted individual who cares for you. A guardian. A protector.

Pharma originally sees you just as a companion, a small lab assistant that helps him and provides company when no one else will.

Then he soon begins to see you in the more romantic sense.

Pharma no doubt tries to figure out how you two can be compatible.

He isn't a sadistic doctor by thus point and genuinely wants to have a life with you.

You're rather isolated from other humans out here.

Maybe you took this job because of that, maybe you just wanted the chance to interact with a species not your own.

Either way, Pharma thinks you could use some companionship.

A more intimate kind of companionship.

Pharma doesn't have a holoform, not many Cybertronians do, but he considers one when it comes to speaking with you.

He could order the ability to do that if it meant being closer to you....

A pairing with a human is still somewhat of a foreign concept, yet he still finds himself thinking about it while you watch him work.

The moment someone says something negative about you, his glare could kill.

Pharma is protective about you.

He never lets you outside due to the cold, he keeps you beside him all the time, everyone knows he claims you.

It's when he makes deals with Tarn to give T-Cogs that he hides you.

The D.J.D hates organics.

Pharma is aware of this and keeps you deep in Delphi when he deals with them.

You most likely slowly watch as Pharma grows more sadistic and insane.

He appears too giddy to be covered in Energon, tearing T-Cogs out of patients when they die to give to Tarn.

Despite this he gets so soft with you.

He tries to tell you he's doing this deal to care for you, he wants to keep you safe like he always has.

He would say it's because he loves you but he isn't sure if you'd be ready for that.

He's still controlling with you, telling you what to do and how to act at times.

Although he keeps saying it's for your own good.

It hurts you to see Pharma grow more insane, going to the point of murdering patients just to use them for parts.

Pharma may even use the deal as an excuse to kill anyone who disrespects the bond between you.

He doesn't have to help the patients who call you degrading names as they walk in his doors.

They aren't useful alive anyways.

He uses his job as an excuse to get rid of rival.

No need to worry, dear... they were beyond saving.

Even when sadistic and insane, corrupted by the D.J.D, he is still addicted to you.

Just like a drug he can't seem to get enough of you.

There will come a time during his degrading mental state that he confesses.

He'll call you over in private, sitting at a desk.

Then he'll pick you up into his hands and pour his spark out.

He'll admit to having feelings for you for what feels like forever.

He watches you live around the station.

He loves to watch you... he can't get enough of you.

You stare at him with wide eyes as he raises you to his face, large blue optics looking at you with adoration.

He apologizes for making bad decisions but promises you it was to keep a future for the both of you.

He just loves you so much...

He never wants to let you go...

Pharma may even try to kiss you by this point, something small though as he doesn't want to crush you.

He doesn't understand why you resist?

To you it's obvious.

You see him as a murderer, a traitor, and a mad doctor.

Meanwhile Pharma feels not much has changed.

He still takes care of you.

You should love him.

Even if you don't, or you no longer do, Pharma will keep you right where he wants you.

You can't go anywhere without him anyways.

You'll freeze to death, or the D.J.D will get you.

It's just you and him....

Pharma knows you have nowhere to go.

He just strokes your cheek and tells you you'll be okay.

He'll love you just like a human partner, if not better.

You think anything between you is impossible, Pharma doesn't care.

He just cares that he has you, Tarn never even has to know.

The only time Pharma loses you is when Ratchet comes in to ruin everything in his eyes.

When Ratchet or any of his crew tries to come near you, Pharma scoops you up.

He hates the idea of another Cybertronian seeing or talking to you.

Ratchet may be a "good friend" of his, but that doesn't mean he's allowing him to speak with you.

It's after Ratchet fights with Pharma in the rust incident that Pharma lets you go.

Not willingly either.

It hurts the mad doctor to see you in the hands of Ratchet, the falling apart medic bot that tossed him over a cliff.

Yet... Pharma has a feeling he'll see you again some day.

That day will be the day he gets his revenge against Ratchet... and it will be the day he takes you back as his human.
