System of a Down? i like Orgy but theyve always struck me as club music n shit like Evanescence and Linkin Park hardly feel like they should count but they do. the reason Nu Metal is so deceive is bc it is really hard to classify and is a sub genera of Alt Metal which itself is already super hard to pin down so idk. ngl if you ever wanna start with a sub of Metal id just google "notable (x) Metal bands" and start there, slowly working your way through the Youtube/Spotify/Pandora related recommend list till you start hitting the real obscure shit- you get to discover on your own and you get familiar with the basics. you go deep enough youll start hitting mostly unknown bands like Jesus Loves Junkies and Snake River Conspiracy (neither of which are really nu metal imo but both of which serve the simile lol)
