Vim panfletar mais uma série favorita: Jane the Virgin!

Confesso que minha única expectativa em relação a essa série era que provavelmente seria uma narrativa besta e que não ia me prender de jeito nenhum. Como eu disse no início, é uma favorita, então vocês já podem ver que fui surpreendida!

Jane Gloriana Villanueva é uma jovem cheia de sonhos, romântica e extremamente criativa (nunca me identifiquei tanto com uma personagem na vida). Ela tem 23 anos, é americana, de origem latina, e católica, neta de uma religiosa fervorosa, nossa Alba Villanueva. Logo no primeiro episódio é mostrado como sua abuela frisa a importância de se casar virgem, fazendo uma analogia com uma flor, e logo, essa ideia fica enraizada na cabeça da nossa Jane.

Pois bem, Jane está prestes a se casar com seu noivo, Michael Cordero, quando acontece um acidente totalmente inesperado – ela é inseminada artificialmente por engano!!! – e quem é o pai? Rafael Solano, uma antiga paixão de verão da Jane, lindo, riquíssimo e dono do hotel em que ela trabalha! Sua mãe, Xiomara Villanueva, e seu pai – sem citar nomes, é um spoiler! – somam-se ao elenco maravilhoso, juntando com risadas inevitáveis, romances adoráveis, e muitos dramas que, aliás, apesar de muito exagerados, deixa tudo muito melhor. O mais importante, que me prendeu à série: OS PLOTS TWISTS (reviravoltas), eles acontecem o tempo todo!

Outro fato que amei na série é sua representatividade. A família Villanueva é representada por três mulheres fortes e não estereotipadas: Jane, Xiomara e nossa abuela, Alba. Trata de muitos assuntos importantes como aceitação de imigrantes e preconceito, maternidade (na vida real), entre muitos outros.

E por fim, mas não menos importante, Rogelio de La Vega. Vale a pena assistir a essa série apenas por ele! O Rogelio é tudo. Extremamente engraçado, dramático, vaidoso, nem todos os melhores adjetivos do mundo poderiam definir esse personagem.

É uma boa distração para quem quer rir, chorar, se emocionar, e amar a família Villanueva e seus agregados. Todas as cinco temporadas da série estão disponíveis na Netflix! Corram para maratonar!

things jane the virgin needs to sort out, somehow in the next few episodes:

• I'm assuming we're done with milos' storyline now that the shares are in petra's name

• raf's depression: barely touched on, bit ridiculous as to why they haven't discussed besides the mention of "my meds" and "I have depression" etc

• petra and j.r need some closure if they don't get back together

• michael needs to return for his final moment, without an insult to his character, montana can't surely be the last ep with him??

• rogelio's 'this is mars', will it be successful, is his feud with river over. what about baby? And esteban and darci???

•someone dies as well, spoiler, so who the heck is that gonna be??

• rose apparently has this mastermind plan but we've seen none of it? So that's interesting, and bad writing

• jane's second novel, if it gets published etc

• does xo get into nursing school???

• and who is the narrator???? so many theories have been made my fans so I'm curious to see if they actually mention that

I love that Petra finally got a girlfriend, but I really can't stand J.R. I've tried to like her since her first appearance but she just keeps letting Petra down and I hate it. I am not a fan of their relationship at all.
