In the course of my Tarot studies this week I learned a new word-Prestidigitation. A prestidigitator is defined as: "One who performs slight-of-hand tricks; a conjurer." J-M David uses it as a synonym for Le Bateleur/The Magician. Etymologically speaking, it comes from the Italian "presto" (quick) and Latin "digitus" (finger) It immediately reminded me of the character Little Finger from Game of Thrones. Such a perfect way to describe his personality! When happiness involves choosing between two attractions, Cupid lands with scales in hand to help weigh out my options. In the name of Justice she says: "If you offer your heart, there's room for growth in collaboration. However, it's wasteful to throw away energy invested in an old project in favor of something new and shiny." Three sixes (Wands, Lovers, Cups) all point to choices and parallel paths. Yet the Nine of Cups shows pleasures combined, then compartmentalized-revealing a middle path between the two. An alleyway for comprise and cross-pollination. The only "cuts" come from Justice, who's sword looks mostly ceremonial today; much like the "choice" poised between two already complimentary elements.
