Kukui had taken in a border, Ash . Ever since he took him in, there's been rumors floating around the town that Kukui's got a son. At first he brushed them off, but now even his colleagues are calling him "papa Kukui". Hell, he took Ash to a restaurant and the waiter asked Kukui "and for your son?".

Kukui, being the stubborn man he is, always says; "No, he's just my border and student." But now? Watching him play with his pokemon on all fours, baby voice and all, he comes to the horrifying realization that not only has he gotten incredibly attached to the kid, he's walked into fatherhood completely blind.

This wasn't how this was supposed to go, he was supposed to house and feed him for maybe a month and then say his goodbyes, never to think of the kid again. But here he is, casserole in his oven mitts, his pikachu apron that Ash bought for him because "I thought you'd like it!" on, smiling fondly at the boy without even realizing it, coming to the conclusion that; Molayne was right, I've become such a dad.

@funky-yellow-rat 's new fic about Ash and Lei traveling together is so lovely I had to make some fanart! Anyways, this is the first scene of the fic. Featuring Lei eating straight mud. Pikachu wasn't mentioned in the scene, but I like to think he would've wanted to get in on the fun.

I based Ash's outfit on the one he has in the power of us movie. But I left out the red and yellow collar. It looks a lot like his original outfit without it, huh? And I just made up Lei's fit.

On another note, I haven't really been drawing a lot. This is the first fully rendered art I've done in a whileee, and I really like it! I owe it to the fic for motivation haha.

i love NarKik, how awesome is it that the man who wishes to kill her, and actually have killed her, held also the dearest despicable desire to protect/keep-her-alive her? (or more like his desire has protected her...)

not into inukag vs inukik topic ( i ship both )

reincarnation concept is very close to me, as physical body is just a facade . so to me inukag is a successful representation of the love inukik once had, a prove that bond between two longing souls is eternal .

there was also no competition between kikyo and kagome. the choice was very obvious.

kikyo chose to travel alone, she didn't want inuyasha's love anymore, she wanted revenge on him(when she didn't know it was naraku all along) . kikyo knew she died and she count her days on earth only for revenge (stopping naraku). remember how she killed a monk once for interfering her plan and tried to kill inuyasha? well that ended once she knew it was naraku all along.

kikyo's tale is not of love but revenge.

and inuyasha actively chose to travel with Kagome.

How I draw clouds since they’re my favorite thing to draw! Literally nobody asked for a tutorial but I’m making one anyways! Note, I am looking at a reference photo I took which is always recommended in my opinion, but once you get clouds down more you can pretty easily freestyle them. Want to go from a solid sheet of color on your canvas to having trees and shit? this is for you. 

Step 1: put a solid sheet of color down. maybe an ombre, airbrush tool is probably the best here. Try to have a canvas size with at least 1k on either end, be it horizontal or vertical. We’re going to want it to look really smooth, not pilexated. 

Step 2: I personally never start with white or the lightest color of the clouds. Clouds are pretty white usually, but there’s a lot of grey and blue generally-I like to start with the middle-leaning-darkest shade, like this. Use a waterfolor-y brush or something similar if you can! Just makes your life easier.

Absol getting its scythe/horn stuck in things and needing to be rescued. Holding a torchic and moving it, seeing its head do the chicken thing. Furret being an absolute menace to society and stealing your socks to nest. Mr. Mime putting barriers around its food as a form of food guarding. Ninetales sleeping with its head tucked under its tails. Zigzagoon snuffling through the trash.

Whoo 🙌 salt on! Glad it was cathartic! The concept of “clean blame/no nuance villains” seems to be pretty universal. You pick your favorite blorbo, you make him the whumpe because it’s easier than acknowledging the other side, or accepting the complexity and errors of your personal fav. I’ve seen it often, and hell, I am a guilty party, sometimes I just wanna give a guy a strained relationship with his dad when it’s not that bad in canon, it’s just for fun writing so I can found family him with his co-workers. Or you know, Rose and Leon in Pokeani, that’s another frequent cited example. The people have spoken and they wanna go 🥺 noo poor baby, and have the villain hurt people so you can get more concerned protective fury in there. Just the media enjoyers experience, but I get the oversaturation of it for those who really see into the balance of everyone’s characters, rights and wrongs and perspective, it feels cheap and incredibly misunderstanding the full scope of what makes them who they are to be the characters you recognize and enjoy. Oof, that feels like the DabiHawks writer experience. This is so universal ngl just based off character design stereotypes, I would’ve thought Zhongli would’ve been the fandom fav. Reading all that, I can 100% agree with you, that sounds aggravating as hell. I hope you know some writers who don’t do that. Salting in a group chat about fandom takes is also very cathartic esp when there’s that one person who salts with hilarious energy and phrasing. I think you’re probably that person XD someone out there is reading your post and chugging apple juice in solidarity and pointing going “PREACH!!! EXACTLY”

I like exploring tensions between characters too (I have a series with Childe and Zhongli specifically doing this) however I find that often people don't really care for the nuance of the situation and only like to focus on the feelings of one character. Often it ends up being the one who doesn't often show emotion that is ignored too...

It makes me feel icky when people do that T-T Just because you're not expressive doesn't mean you don't feel, you know? And when a character reacts with anger and hurt, that doesn't mean that they're right! We like to sympathise with characters and their emotions to the point that we often don't realise that sometimes they're being pretty irrational.

I don't think I'd have an issue with this if it was an offshoot of fandom who enjoys doing this but it seems like the whole fandom barring a few will make Zhongli the "villain" and have to make it up to Childe rather than being "both did pretty hurtful things to one another".

I'm always someone who likes to look at both sides though instead of just saying one person is at fault because a lot of the time, they're not the only one whose wrong and or they're reacting to others and how they're reacting might not be the best it doesn't mean the blame can solely fall on them, you know?

I have a real-life example of this even, a friend got pretty drunk the other day and was doing stupid stuff that were annoying my other friends, however I was sober and saw everything go down, while the friend doing dumb stuff was going too far, our other friends had been egging him on. However when people sobered up, they were soley annoyed with that friend doing dumb stuff and weren't thinking why he had done it.

It's easy to pin blame on one person, it's harder to look back at the event and think "actually all sides have a role to play in this". And I find fandom also falls into the same trap when analysing media.

I try not to be salty too often so, because I'd rather not be negative all the time (it's why I slowed down on answering asks at first too, as I know people were venting however I was afraid I was becoming way to cynical as a response). But doing it from time to time is good.

I just learned that Bonnie and Clemont’s return episode will air on April 1st and I’m very excited about that (as is @piplupsbubbles with whom I was just screaming about it)! Perfect for the 25th anniversary, tbh.

okay and the pikachu shirts. there’s so many. and i just imagine kukui taking ash and being like “we’re buying you CLOTHES you need clothes” and then ash gets, like, excited about a pikachu shirt. so then kukui just continually buys pikachu shirts for him because he knows it makes ash happy.

Ash having multiple pijamas in Alola will never stop being funny to me. Like??? We know the green with the first gen sprint one was something he brought with him from Pallet Town but the others?? Especially the ones with the Alola starters??

This just reeks as a certain professor wanting to spoil the living the crap out of the child he just adopted and that makes me happy.

Me at any opportunity until the day I die: Paul was an amazing rival, an outstandingly created character with both strengths and weaknesses along with morals/philosophy that went against Ash’s yet weren’t presented as ultimately wrong - something that wasn’t present in the anime before. His personality wasn’t reduced to one or two traits and despite starting off as a rather cold and cruel trainer, throughout the series we could see how he made an effort to turn into something better. Complexity is what makes him such an iconic character and that’s exactly why-

your fav pkmn anime ships and why!!

Aaaa the problem with me is that I have so many ships that I love x,D So please bear with me!

Not so long ago, I made a list of my top 5 pokeani ships and why I love them. I feel like I explained very well then and can’t write it better, so here is the link 

And then there is my other fave pokeani ship (in no particular order):

-Eldershipping (Delia and Prof Oak.): Ok, I know it sounds weird (this was so weird for me when I was a kid). But please listen, I learn to find this ship sweet in the context that their relationship starts way after Ash and Gary leave home. Like I don’t believe Prof Oak is Ash’s dad or that Delia was dating Oak at the start of the anime. I prefer to think that once Ash and Gary left on their journey, both Delia and Oak missed them so much and felt lonely at home. So they kept each other company. And no, they didn’t start dating right away, it was something that came gradually with time. They simply helped each other or had some coffee together, talk about their missing son/grandson, just to feel the void of Ash and Gary. And with time learned to really appreciate each other’s company. That’s the scenario that I feel in love with ;;

-Diodeshipping (Ash x Clemont): I feel like from all the people Ash met in Kalos, it’s interaction with Clemont were the most sweet and interesting. Their personality merged so greatly and it was so nice how Clemont learned to be more confident thanks to Ash ;;

-Pearlshipping (Ash x Dawn): Believe it or not, this was my notp for a long time when I was a kid lol x,D The only reason was because I thought the shippers in the forum I spent time on at the time were really obnoxious and I lost a friend over it because I said I didn’t really ship it (it was my first pokefriend ever and she was so important to me at the time. I was heartbroken and grew bitter over this ship because of that). But recently I rethink about it and realised that it is a very good and cute ship. I think from all the pokegirls, Ash’s interaction with Dawn is the most precious and cute??? Like I never cared about Ash’s ships, so if I would choose a ship I would go by default to Misty because to me it was the most dynamic and original interaction, but Dawn’s is really up there too. These two really complimented each other and were really cute together.

-Pokeshipping (Ash x Misty): I feel like their interaction are too funny and interesting to not ship them together. Like I said, I never really cared about Ash’s ships, but I can’t help but to find all his moments with Misty priceless!! I love how they bicker, yet care about each other a lot. I don’t know it it was an accident, but I feel like they wrote that type of relationship so well. 

-Snowpointshipping (Candice x Zoey): I just thought their interactions were cute and they had a wonderful chemistry. I wish we could have more moments of these two together.

-Appealshipping (Zoey x Dawn): They are so cute and I love all their interaction from beginning to end and how much Zoey cares about Dawn.

-Sourgrapeshipping(Burgundy x Georgia): I can’t believe this ship is not popular ;; They would make a wonderful couple. They have such a great personality and I feel like they would have a wonderful chemistry together. Seriously, this ship needs more love.

-Brunet x Kukui : Have you seen how cute they are together? Seriously don’t know what to say. It’s just absolutely cute! They can almost be like a Disney couple, don’t @ me.

-Meowth x Litten: I am a sucker for Black cats & White cats aesthetic (prob because of Sailor Moon). Besides, Meowth and Litten’s interaction in the anime are really cute and interesting.

-Mallow x Lillie : They are in love! The writers just can’t put it officially in the anime because of the censors, I am sure! They are always together and they are just so cute!

-Calendarshipping (Barry x May): I just adore crack ships, okay x,D And I know it’s so out there, but they both have friendly and warm personalities that I feel like they could make an interesting pair, no matter if it’s platonic or romantic.

I am probably missing some, but like this list is so long already, so I need to stop lol

hi!! thank you for these questions, i didn’t expect this at all haha! let’s see...

fave pokeani character: ash! to no surprise, he’s my favorite! i actually originally made this blog to be specifically an ash fan-blog, but i realized it would’ve really have much content, so i made it a full on pokemon-only blog instead (while also being an ash fan-blog lol). i really love ash’s relationship with pikachu, the way he interacts with pokemon - whether they’re his own or just wild - and i really love his current personality! the way he acts in XY(Z)/SM is so much more mature while still retaining his kid-like goofiness in the latter series

fave rival: i have 2 actually! paul & sawyer. i like paul for the same reasons as everyone else; he had a conflicting personality and training method to ash which was an interesting contrast. it made for some nice interactions and really pushed ash to his limits! i also like sawyer but it was really cool to see a rival of ash look up to him, since XY/Z tended to focus on ash’s friends/rivals being inspired by him, i really enjoyed their interactions and their league battle is one of my all-time favorite battles in the series!

fave traveling companion: my faves are misty, brock, & serena! im an OG person w/ the original trio. can’t say i’ve watched every series, including the first, all the way through like i did w/ XY/Z and am doing with SM but i loved their dynamic and im also kind of a pokeshipper lol. i also like amourshipping though, and serena’s development as a character was amazing! also seeing her design change mid-season was such a nice touch
