personally i think katara is completely within in her right to be angry at and never forgive the man that killed her mother and in turn zuko is also within his right to be angry at and never forgive his abusers who gaslit manipulated scapegoated maimed banished and tried to kill him multiple times and neither of those things would make katara and/or zuko lesser than or bad people

I think some people don’t realize homestuck is a story about storytelling.
I was thinking about people insisting the Epilogues, hs^2, or Beyond Canon aren’t canon. And like. Yeah, that’s the point.
What does it mean to be canon anyway? Stories that get tied up in neat little bows are hard to expand upon. What happens after the happily ever after?
You can take it the direction of mundane day to day fluff (candy) or send them on another world shattering adventure (meat) but neither one is really real because… it’s a story. Homestuck was never really real. They’re both real. None of them are real.
This is all so clearly spelled out in the post canon material that I’m forced to assume they just. Have not engaged in it and / or ignore it on principle.

been seeing a lot of people upset that fable's ending and yeah, it's gonna be a very bittersweet moment, but i feel like it's important to remind y'all that where a story ends is just as important as where it begins. if it kept going forever, it wouldn't be special anymore. it wouldn't be good anymore. trust me, i watched supernatural.
but also just because something is ending doesn't mean you have to stop loving it! if drawing the characters or writing fable fics or making silly fable memes makes you happy, the show itself ending doesn't mean you can't do that anymore. keep on writing! keep on drawing! have a great time! nothing out there is stopping you!
enjoy the ending of fable, but remember, it doesn't have to be the end of fable. :)

a lot of people found it really helpful the last time i provided some context for LU Legend’s games (this post!!), so i’m gonna do that again!! this time specifically about A Link Between Worlds. if you have any questions, please feel free to send an ask, and i will answer to the best of my ability! please keep in mind that i am only speaking on the english translation <3
also, i will only refer to this game’s Link as Link instead of Legend. while i’m writing this primarily to help the Linked Universe fandom, these details are only from the canonical game and can be applied to any interpretation of this game’s Link. it is not exclusive to Linked Universe whatsoever!!!!!
anyhow, in this game, Link has a family: the blacksmiths. while never overtly stated, it is so heavily implied that assuming the author’s intent is a relatively safe course of action.
for those unaware, the Blacksmith family includes three people: the unnamed blacksmith, his unnamed wife, and their little boy Gulley. also, prior to the start of A Link Between Worlds, Link worked as an apprentice at the forge!!
the Blacksmith is pretty tough on Link throughout the beginning of the game, berating him for oversleeping and not working hard enough to become a proper Blacksmith. this seems relatively mean at first, but then it becomes clear that he really just wants the best for Link. he’s a very successful man who wants Link to be just as prosperous. later on, there’s a really nice moment between the two after Link rescues Gulley (who was kidnapped by the game’s main villain, Yuga) where the Blacksmith says “I’m real proud of how you’re shaping up here, Link.” it’s a brief, heartwarming exchange between the two, and it really highlights their relationship dynamic.
his wife, on the other hand, is much more overtly caring towards our hero. in the description of Link’s green tunic, it’s said that the wife is the one who sewed it for him. more than that, she’s also the one who made the adventure pouches for Link’s belt, telling him “I made it for you so you could carry more items…. But please—you should use that pouch so I won’t have to worry about YOU quite as much!” once he receives them. she’s a very kind and caring figure in his life, who often takes time out of her day just to help Link out and make sure he’s okay.
Gulley is arguably the closest to Link out of all of them. For starters, A Link Between Worlds opens with Gulley waking Link up from a prophetic dream and mentioning that Link oversleeps too much, meaning that (a) Gulley has the key to Link’s home, and (b) this happens often. Gulley was also said to have insisted on being the one to give Link the adventure pouches his mom made! the entire reason Link originally goes on his hero’s journey is to save the boy after he was kidnapped, and when Link passes out and ends up in the middle of the road in Lorule, he’s said to have been mumbling Gulley’s name over and over again (furthermore, it was the blacksmith family’s Lorulian counterparts that had found and saved Link when he passed out.)
i don’t think Link is genetically related to the blacksmiths, even though they do share similar hair and eye colors. if that were the case, they’d simply be labeled as Mom as Dad. my interpretation of it is that Link is unofficially adopted :)
tl;dr: the Link in A Link Between Worlds isn’t alone. he has a family that loves and cares for him deeply. and this post doesn’t even include the countless close friends he made in ALBW alone. please guys acknowledge them im begging you
as always, i’m not saying that you have to take this post as gospel or even be influenced by it at all. i just want to open up new avenues to explore these characters through for people without access to the games <3

I feel as though we as a community don't talk about Reaver's fear of death enough. This man was so afraid of getting old and dying that he went out seeking, (or at the very least stumbled upon and chose to interact with), an ancient demon cult that could grant him the immortality he so desperately wished for. He had no way of knowing the real consequence of his actions, says so himself in his diary that he had no intentions of Oakvale paying the price for his choice, but they still did. And he has to live with that.
He chooses to live with that regret, and continues to choose suffering from nightmares every night, constantly looking over his shoulder, being scared of every shadow and non-lit room, and playing an annual game of chess with a court of shadows where he repeats the same choice that got him into this mess in the first place over and over again instead of just accepting that he's human and can die like everyone else. Why is he so damn afraid of dying? Obviously, death is a common fear, but to the extent that it is for Reaver? No, there's more there. Did he lose someone as a kid? A parent? A grandparent? A sibling? Did he have to sit by someone's bedside, watching as they slowly slipped away? Did he have to watch someone he cared for bleed out and take their last breaths, choosing to carry it all with him for the rest of his too-long life? Or did he just simply want to live for as long as possible, scared of missing out on a future he already gave away, and uneasy over the fact that death is so unknown and permanent? And ofc the mess with Oakvale only served to solidify that fear in both his heart and mind after the fact, as if it wasn't already bad enough. What a vicious cycle.
There is truly so much we don't know about Reaver, especially in regards to his younger days in Oakvale, and it's something I wish was explored more. Though I do think keeping it all lock and key is very on brand for Reaver, and I appreciate the mystery around it. Getting info outta that man must have been like pulling teeth, but more painful...and probably way deadlier. Lmfao.

i feel like this is worth mentioning as the finale is in a few days but go everyone that is going to miss seeing the Fable SMP Finale live, for whatever reason, your viewing experience will not be less valuable or worse than those that catch it live. Whether because of school, graduation, time zones, work, or any thing else, you are still going to get to see the end of the fablesmp even if it is just later. Don't let anyone tell you that your experience is going to be 'so much worse' or anything of that nature because at the end of the day, sometimes life comes before a minecraft server and that's just how it is.

being inspired by dungeon meshi to think about bugs is valid because thinking about fictional food is always fun.
like i always thought it was vaguely funny that Bugarians don't eat meat, but there is also a decently large population of living plants. like, is their herbivorism a moral, cultural, or biological thing? like is zasp aware that he's a carnivore, for example, because wasp?
would Bugarians eat mosscreeps? would they be ok with it if they did not know that mosscreeps are like, little animals?
are seedlings and their like partially bugs or are they more like ambulatory plants?
and then theres the Hallownest folks, who seem to have little qualms about eating even sentient bugs- altho sometimes I wonder if that little "cannibalism" thing is a little overstated since a.) the hunter's journal may not be the best representation of Hallownest atittudes about sentient bug consumption, and b.) the dire situation of the City of Tears during the infection might have lead them to drastic measures.
then again, Willoh considered eating Ghost (and the corpse above her alcove was afraid of being eaten too), Deepnest absolutely eats basically any bug they kill, sentient or not, I doubt the Mantis tribes would have any problem eating sentients either... the leaf and mushroom tribes wouldn't even consider it canniablism cuz they're not made of meat, etc.
I just love the vibes that Hallownest bugs, while sentient, are still closer to an insect's mindset than ours. with how much of their roads, homes, and equipment are made of old dead bugs or bug parts, it certainly isn't a stretch to imagine they eat their dead, too. Why not? then again they do have graveyards. hm.
anyway sorry for the long post. i love the implications of fictional races and their food culture. I have similar thoughts about pokemon consumption.
I also believe its a matter of circumstance; Bugaria has a surplus of food so massive that they literally use it as currency. They have farms and livestock and a sort of economy. They can afford to be picky.
Hallownest is all about survival. There are no farms, no livestock. There's only plants you can gather and prey you must kill. Until Ghost stopped the infection, you were on your own, so to speak.
