Phantom Thief outfit breakdown: pt 5

This is a continuation of my previous post and series regarding my opinions on the phantom thieves' metaverse costumes, prompted by a poll by @waywardsalt. I will like all of these together as they're finished.

Next Up: Futaba! I actually like her design quite a bit but I do have elements I would change.

I think her costume is pretty on point with her vibe, and I love the incorporation of tron inspiration in the stripes and the way her mask looks a little like a frog. I do have a few minor tweaks I would make though.

Firstly, whatever belt thing they've got going on has got it go. I really don't understand why it wraps around her thighs; it doesn't do anything and it makes it take on the vaguest hints of bondage, which totally doesn't fit her character. I would eliminate the thigh loops altogether, and possibly make it resemble the gear straps of Star War's orange flight suits, which are iconic and based off of actual pilot's parachute straps.

Additionally, I would simplify the pants overall, and make them resemble the baggy, puffiness of the Apollo area astronaut suits; this looks more uniform than the mix of textures they currently have, and makes the pockets part of the pants instead of being stuck on the sides. This would also be a nice tie in with her persona, as its based off of a classic flying saucer! Definitely keep the knee pads and neon green, croc-esque shoes though.

Other than these minor tweaks, I would largely leave Futaba's outfit alone. It's surprising coherent and well done, considering she's a noncombatant and thus it isn't seen nearly as much as the other thieves' outfits. I rank her 6th out of 10 places and a solid 6/10 score as well!
