Name: rai
Pronouns: it's complicated so she/he take ur pick
Birthday (no year): may 17
Where are you from? What is your time zone? the states, east coast beast coast. (not rly its swampy here)
How long is your roleplay experience? i regularly lose count. 17 years now i think?
How were you introduced to roleplaying as a whole? neopets, p sure. at least i can't remember rping before that. warrior cats and gifteds rps on neopets were the one-night stands of my heart
How were you introduced to TOA? according to legend, ree was reported famously to have said "we could do it tho" and then i answered "yeah ig we could huh"
Do you have any pets? nah i've come to realize that im not very good at taking care of living things (including myself) and no lifeform should be subjected to that
What is your favorite time of year and why? i'm an autumn girlie, complete with the pumpkin spice. november specifically is my favorite time of year
What is your IRL occupation? i work at a community college writing center ob it's really rewarding to make a direct impact on other people's experiences
Some interests and things you like/enjoy? gacha games, reading, poetry, hearing the dank beat drop in a song and imagining some dramatic rp scene to go along with it
What non-Fire Emblem games do you play? honkai: star rail, granblue fantasy, pokemon, jrpgs, otomes, vn's in general, whatever games my friends want to stream for me while i grind granblue fantasy
Favorite Pokemon type & Pokemon: raichu, and flying types
Tell us some fun facts and trivia about yourself! 3 stuffed animals have pride of place on my bed and they are a fennec fox named luhan, a red panda named shizi (persimmon in mandarin), and whale tartaglia
How did you get into Fire Emblem? was browsing the nearby gamestop in college shortly after fates came out, decided to pick it up on a whim because it looked up my alley. got hooked and blasted through the rest of the series in short order afterward
What Fire Emblem games have you played? everything except jugdral, but i've studied jugdral like i did ff7 back in the day in order to rp it
First & Favorite Fire Emblem games: fates as mentioned above. favorite depends on the metric jsdjgsk but, simplified, binding blade remains near and dear to my heart
List your 5 favorite Fire Emblem characters across the series! i cannot do this i do not hold enough characters in my working memory at a time
Who was the first character ever to make you go “ooh I like this one in particular” and why? Can be any context and reason! i think tsubaki. he was pretty and a pegasus knight, and i only liked him more as i actually saw more of his character HAHA
Any Fire Emblem crushes? huh. surprisingly, not really? was definitely expecting to have some for this one
If you’ve played (or are familiar with) the following games, who was your first S support? Who would you S support nowadays? Awakening: lucina. and yes. always always Fates: tsubaki, nishiki, and leo. and yes. Three Houses: felix bc i liked his character and i always tend to s-support my faves just to see their lines. ambivalent now tbh im kinda roulette w 3h s-supports Engage: gregory, mostly bc i'm also roulette w engage s-supports rather than any overt favoritism for gregory. maybe fogado?
Favorite Fire Emblem class? nomad ranger / bow knight
If you were a Fire Emblem character, what would be your class and stats? Would you be playable? i've been told i'd be mage into mage knight but wielding dark magic. magic nuke but kind of whatever everything else. lysithea but mounted i guess. if i'm somehow playable the circumstances must be EXTRAORDINARY because good luck peeling me away from my nice quiet life for your continental justice war no thanks
If you were a Three Houses character, what would be your affiliation? black eagles probably and i'd cringe abt it
If you were an Officers Academy student, what would be your boons, banes and potential budding talent? reason and authority boon. gauntlet, heavy armor, flying bane. i don't rly think i'd have a budding talent in any of the rest
If you were an Engage character, which nation would you originate from? tbh i'd probably be from elusia
How do you pronounce TOA? individual letters
Current TOA muses: felix, caeldori, rosado
Past TOA muses? too fucking many yall. ugh lemme see. volug, sety, idunn, leif, yuri, kurthnaga, ephraim, lucius, etzel, nel, citrinne, nishiki
Who was your first TOA muse? If you no longer have them, can you see yourself picking them up again? will smith gestures at the grumpycat
Do you believe you have a type of character you gravitate towards writing? reckless boys with hearts of gold (felix, leif, zeiss, ephraim); perfectionistic dreamers (caeldori), charismatic cunning extroverts concealing a boatload of issues, somber cerebral sages (sety, etzel, kurthnaga arguably)
Do you have characters or types of characters you don’t think you can handle writing, but wish you could? there's plenty of archetypes i don't gravitate toward, but i don't really wish i did either. so not really
What kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? i like dramatic, fast-paced action scenes. i also like anything that explores complex topics and reveals how subjective the world really is, situations that challenge a character's views and beliefs and force them to reflect on what makes right or wrong
Do you have any scenario in mind for your muse(s) that gets you thinking “man I hope I get to write this one day”? not really right now. i don't usually have rp wishlists like this because my enjoyment of a scene depends more on how effectively i feel it's being executed rather than just getting to do the specific scene by itself
Favorite TOA-related memories? probably running team mercy in lock&key? that was a really fulfilling experience
Present or past tense? present tense
Normal size text, small text, no preference? small text but idc what my partner uses
Got any potential muse delusions to share? i have muses falling out my pockets. lately i've been fistfighting the ilios in my head constantly. sometimes you just want to play a loser

Whats your favourite thing about every sees member !!
ermagerd let me think… ummmmm. i’ve posted long ass posts before but this one feels especially long for some reason so i’m gonna crop it but. it’s hard to pick just one favorite thing about everyone but i tried my best 😭😭😭 press on ahead if u dare to read some of my sees yapping…
minato - this technically could go for kotone in the social links they share, but i’ll count it for him in the sense that he’s the original protagonist. the small ways minato shows he cares for others even when the game has just begun and his care for life can be seen as indifferent, he still goes out of his way to do such nice things for others. i’m mainly thinking about the old couple, where minato gets them something from the persimmon tree when he definitely, from character perspective not game perspective, didn’t have to
kotone - HER AGGRESSION !!!!!! her violent tendencies. her protectiveness over her female friends. i’ll bring this up everyday idgaf ..!!!!! i’ve gone on abt this too many times now so i won’t bore yall but … Violent kotone… if i had to pick something else then i’d say how joyous she is, or how joyous she fronts being
yukari - her selflessness … i’m not sure if this is so obvious that that’s why people don’t often point it out, but i love how in every instance of someone being injured in game, yukari is consistently immediately at their side. i would call it subtle in the way that you’d likely be so wrapped up in the plot u wouldn’t immediately notice, but when u notice it it’s like … god.. yukari… i love u..
junpei - when he’s vulnerable with the protag… i am inclined to goofy junpei 99.9% of the time, but i very much enjoy his serious moments. i like when he is open with the protagonists, mainly kotone, and puts his silly down … tbh i also love when he snaps at them in december(?) and is just completely raw n emotional for once…
fuuka - i think what first comes to mind is just how nice fuuka is to others. like natsuki, despite being unforgivably bullied by her (imo ts was unforgivable… but no shade natsuki). yet she’s very forgiving … and she’s very silly. i love fuukas determination to keep trying something even when she’s horrifically bad at it 😭
aigis - holyyyyyyyy i could go on forever abt aigis oh my word. i suppose ill shorten it to i love how much aigis values life … not even just her own, but every living thing she comes across. i could fkn cry thinking about the cat in her social link rn… not even just the cat either, but the old woman as well. aigis … GAHHH
mitsuru - when she speaks french. her attempt to look like a super genius despite already being one through speaking french is so funny to me. love when a typically serious character like her has quirks like that. especially ones like randomly speaking french sometimes
akihiko - i want to say both how smart he is (bc too many ppl think he’s dumb) & also how silly he is (bc i enjoy when he gets a little dumb) 😭 he’s my favorite character im tweaking out trying to pick just one thing LMFAOO ummm. his autism is my favorite thing… ummm
shinjiro - hrmmmmm i quite like how much he enjoys cooking as a hobby and the very obvious subversion it is to the kind of character he presents as under a first impression… & i love how he uses cooking/food as his own way to show he cares about everyone bc he’s too grumpy all the time to actually say anything
ken - him training alone in his room w a broom lmfaoo it’s a cute little thing... i know ken’s whole thing is that he wants to be seen as mature and an “adult”, so i just love when he gets to be a kid/does childish things. like yes plz act your age you deserve to be a child god damn ur just a baby. SMILE!! BE HAPPY!!
koromaru - hard to say with a guy who’s just a little dog. but i enjoy when he’s fighting that shadow by himself around the time he joins the team and it proves how determined n courageous he is … what a good little guy…

130 Prompts #124 - This Is a Box - Read on AO3

3/4: What's your favorite line of narration? [+ dialogue]
For a piece that's 5.5 years old, I think most of the story holds up nicely. I think I did a good job setting the scene and playing into the canon cartoon quirkiness. I can't pick just one, so here's a few moments I like. I think I nailed the cartoon vibes here:
"Not so fast, Timmy Turner!" crowed a young British voice. This was followed by the horrifying stomp of a very large animal's heavy feet. Chloe set down the clock. In slow motion, she and Timmy turned towards the other end of the aisle. Then they grabbed each other's arms and screamed. "Ahhhhh!" Poof's eyes bulged. "How and when did you get that inside?" "Yes! Yes!" Cackling like a madder man than he probably actually was, Foop flew above the shelves, heels kicked up behind him and fists thrust in the air. "Bow down to me, you pathetic human idiots! Or else I shall be forced to crush you under the heels of my mighty persimmon amphibious wrecking ball of chaotic doom! Ahahahaha!" Chloe threw Timmy a jagged look. "You just couldn't resist the giant hippo wish, could you?" He crossed his arms. "Hey, you didn't argue then. Did you have a better way to block the portal door without destroying it and upsetting Poof?" "Fingerprint scanners! Always go for the fingerprint scanners!" "But that's so overplayed."
I think the visuals work well in this scene and don't bog it down. Plus, I love Foop... It's nice. It also balances that "Timmy likes to have fun and Chloe tends to be more practical" vibe without painting Timmy as dumb. Timmy and Chloe are both smart, but Chloe would probably go for a "more effective" solution here while Timmy went for a creative one- which is, of course, a huge part of his character.
This got cut and changed in the final episode, but in the original script for "Fairy, Fairy, Quite Contrary," Remy didn't have cell service in Fairy World and started freaking out because he couldn't come up with anything creative on the spot and he'd never had to be without signal before. Timmy won the duel with his creativity (the most amazing animal ever).
In the final episode, this was changed so that Timmy blurted out the first thing he thought of (a crab with two heads) while Remy did have cell service. We got closure to the Cosmo vs. Juandissimo drama that had been building by having Cosmo taunt Juan until he snapped and lashed out instead of helping Remy.
Anyway, I just think that original script had some cool stuff in it. It's not the only episode to cite Timmy's creativity. Off the top of my head, we also get "The Big Bash," where Cupid specifically tells Timmy that he was invited to a huge Fairy World party because Cupid values his imagination. There are so many things going on with Timmy's character throughout the series, but his imagination is consistently what gets him both into and out of trouble. That is one of the core parts of Timmy's character, and when you strip away his imagination, you lose what makes Timmy "Timmy."
We know that in Season 10, a lot of Chloe's wishes go wrong because she doesn't think before she speaks or she just straight-up makes terrible choices (like wishing that "everyone in Dimmsdale would share everything" which led to absolute anarchy). Chloe has her skills and logic, but Timmy has his experience and imagination.
Like. Timmy has so much experience with wishing that he literally spends the first two episodes mentally face-palming at Chloe's terrible choices, which I still think is hilarious and underrated. He heard Chloe's wording and said, "Oh, that can't end well" even before he'd seen the chaos outside his window. His wishing experience is so underrated - and Chloe straight-up just tells him that he's being rude, even while the city is in chaos around her - and I would have loved to see more of him taking her under his wing. Season 10's got its faults, but the core step-sibling drama is so good...
Since the tail end of the show is especially rough on Timmy's character, I think it's really important in my writing to show how Chloe and Timmy can complement each other without one of them necessarily being "better" than the other.
Yeah, Chloe gets stereotyped as "the perfect kid," and she does have some skills. But you know what she'll sacrifice for that "perfect" image she values? She'll out Mark as an alien and almost get him dissected just so she can get extra credit.
Yes, she's supposedly this certified super sitter who gets along well with little kids, but she struggles to have appropriate expectations for her peers to the point that (with no warning) she ripped away Timmy's ability to talk and screamed that he was the worst friend in the entire universe, "including black holes," because he wasn't walking to school fast enough and was going to make her late.
Yes, she's incredibly patient with "Angel" when Foop is trying to ruin her life, but she's also a pathological liar who will straight-up lie to adults for no reason beyond earning their trust and praise.
Like. That's such a fascinating part of her character and I wish we'd actually talked about how problematic that is for her, but she is literally on-screen lying regularly and there's no getting around that. I know you didn't complete your babysitting certificate within the 2 seconds it took for you to do a front flip, Chloe. I know you didn't bike to Fiji this morning. Mr. Crocker might humor you, but I know.
Chloe means well, but she'll make choices she believes are "objectively good" regardless of the pain it causes others in the process. She'll shut down and deny when things go wrong, while Timmy has a better understanding of consequences and how to work through emotional pain. He's the guy who will go to space to rescue his cruel babysitter from aliens. He'll travel the galaxy to help a rival fight invaders on his home planet. Honestly, his relationship with Mark is so good and pure, and he spent so much of his free time helping Mark get settled on Earth and even helped him celebrate his alien traditions.
Timmy's made his share of mistakes, but the contrast between "Timmy spends 10 seasons keeping Mark's existence secret, to the point that he yells to Cosmo and Wanda to freeze time even though Crocker is literally standing right there and could see him, just to keep Mark safe, and meanwhile Chloe outs him the day after she meets him and almost gets him killed" is SO good... I hate the execution of "Marked Man" with a passion, but Chloe's characterization in it is /chef's kiss. Yes queen, you go face the consequences of your actions. Get freakin' wrecked.
Anyway, I really like this one scene because I think it embodies the characterizations of Timmy and Chloe really well. They're not the same character, and it's important to give them both scenes where they can fail as well as thrive.
[Cnt'd under the cut]
-- Here are some more scenes:
Timmy's reaction here I think was pretty spot-on, and I like Chloe's reminder that they're both abused children and get jealous and hurt easily:
"Ohh yeah." Timmy patted his flashlight against his hand and rolled his eyes. "We used to only have to deal with them on Black Friday, but ever since they started going digital, we have to deal with them on Cyber Monday too. And Gray Tuesday, which is basically the same thing as Black Friday, but for magical creatures all over the universe." "Why on a Tuesday?" "Don't know, don't care. But we have to go to Pixie World tonight. We're running out of time. Do you know whose name I have for the Fairy Reunion gift exchange this year? Jorgen von Strangle's!" Timmy upturned his hands to claws. "If I don't get him an impressive gift, he might grab my throat and crush me into oblivion. Or take my fairies! Or crush me and then take my fairies!" He began to hyperventilate at the thought, twitching his hands and neck about. "Hang on. There's a Fairy Reunion gift exchange? And I wasn't invited?" "Not the part of that sentence I need you to focus on right now, Chloe." "Well, yeah," she muttered, "but I didn't get invited."
The scene where Timmy shines a flashlight in Chloe's eyes is one of my favorite for a quick snippet; I feel like it's a totally realistic thing for a cartoon 11-year-old to do to his friend.
A lone hand snaked out from behind the mattress and jerked her underneath. "Hey!" Before she knew it, Chloe found herself squinting directly into the beam of a stuttering flashlight. Behind it, she could make out two over-sized buck teeth, a battered pink hat, and scruffy brown bangs that fell over a pair of grim blue eyes. Was that striped shirt part of his pajamas? He wore his hat even with his pajamas? "Timmy? Where are Cosmo and Wanda?" As Poof crawled beneath the mattress to join them, she lifted her hand to shield her face. "Hey, can you cut it out? My future self really will need an eye patch at this rate." Timmy switched the flashlight off. "You've got pupils. You're real. I guess I can tell you."
Also... Crockermichael fluff, my beloved...
Chloe looked at her own dance partner, sashaying still. "I hate to do this to you, Kevin." "No, no, please. I would hate to interrupt." His face fell into total deadpan, brows drawn down. If his feet were skittering about any faster, he'd probably have set them on fire. "Really, I understand. It's the Crocker way. Just get it over with." Chloe swept her leg behind his and flipped him over onto his back. Kevin crashed to the floor with a grunt, curling his legs like a squashed beetle ready to die.
Kevin is so dead inside, but I love him.
Overall, I really do like how I wrote Chloe in this story. I think I struck the right balance of Chloe feeling lonely, Chloe being a nice person, and Chloe being skilled at many things. The scene where she kicks H.P. in the jaw "on total instinct" and then it causes a chain reaction of problems is just great.
Also one of my favorite dialogue moments would be the introduction to H.P. (after he's calmed down):
"Look at us." Once the anti-fairy landed, H.P. threw his other arm around his shoulders and pulled him in. "We're all together, celebrating the holidays for another year. Does it get any better than this?" He withdrew then, sniffling and flapping his mittened hands at his eyes. "I won't cry. I told myself I wouldn't cry." Poof floated behind Chloe's shoulder with a repulsed look twisting up his pudgy face. "Whoa. What's up with him?" "Jolly spirits," the anti-fairy grumbled as H.P. caught him in another group hug. This one knocked his monocle out of place. It bobbed on its cord. The anti-fairy rolled his eyes as H.P. mashed their cheeks together. The microphone of H.P.'s headset scraped and stuttered. "He's always like this on Gray Tuesday. One of these years, I shall succeed in reeling him in." The young fairy tapped his cheek. "I will make a note of that for my fanfics and purposely use this information totally out of context just for a laugh at your expense."
H.P. jacked up on Christmas magic to the point that he's giddy and useless for most the story is good fun.
Poof writing fanfics had actually been part of my canon for ages before I wrote this piece... I have an unfinished one-shot I've been sitting on for like 6 years that's about Foop getting obsessed with all the Ninja Cowboy fanfics Poof wrote and then gave up on because they're opposites, and Foop can't bring it up with him without outing himself. It makes me laugh and this line makes me think about that story and I think it's funny.
My favorite one-liner in this piece is probably Timmy shushing Chloe by telling her "not to tell Cosmo and Wanda." I love when the fairy step-siblings act like siblings...
5: What part was hardest to write?
Definitely the scene where the gang is searching for Finley and Finley gets magical overload. I've never liked it and I fought with it so long before I gave up. It's... fine? I'm not even sure how I would make it better now, so it certainly is a thing that happened.
I do love that Timmy and Chloe carry the exploded paper-mâché and glittery goop remains of a pixie while they shop, because that's really funny and again ties into the wacky magical back-up canon. Plus, exploding a character when that IS part of their canon and the audience knows (I presume) that he'll be fine is great.
Although I probably should have made him explode into paperwork... Ah, well.
9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
Yes, I shared the alt ending in a post about Longwood a few years ago. It's number 16.
It got cut for several reasons, like Cosmo and Wanda not being around. It would've been an acceptable ending, but it wasn't as fun or dramatic or as "relieving" as dropping into bed at home after a wild evening of being unsupervised kids.
14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?
Mostly just some thoughts on my characterization of Chloe and Timmy, as depicted above. Also the brotherly relationship between Timmy and Poof. I genuinely love my take on Poof's personality and I love how he plays off Timmy. He's kind of an instigator and kind of a yes man and he's goofy and inexperienced and I like him.
15: What did you learn from writing this fic?
Probably not to include songs in my stories... I think it's kinda cute, but in a sort of affectionately cringey way that can tip a little far. There's another 130 Prompt I've been working on for a few years which was about a song at a high school dance that Foop takes offense to, but writing lyrics and wondering how they come across is more nerve-wracking than it needs to be.

tracked u down bc i can't just. leave this comment in the open on ao3. sweetie. that's not how tomatoes work. /o\ you're thinking of apples or maybe persimmons. the whole core of a tomato would be 75% of the size of the fruit. that's not a scrap. the outer layer is not going to be that much softer than the core. and if it's a hard woody core from being heat-stressed or certain varieties - no one can eat that core. it's a piece of wood. he'd leave a stem behind - and again, nobody eats the green stem.
i could be wrong because there are hundreds of varieties of tomatoes but still if he *is* eating a tomato that size ratio? for certain that boy has an entire front shirt covered in tomato juice - i dont care how good of a ninja he is, unless it's some kind of uchiha magic. sasuke could murder someone and have less red juice on him. no one eats the large 'steak' tomatoes or the sauce-making ones whole in their hands. they slice them first. on a plate or a slab or a board. usually some oil or dressing on it, or even a pinch of salt. and they eat the core. the cherry varieties are eaten whole, like popcorn, and they do not have large cores.
and slices imply a very, very sharp knife. nobody knows how ninja wire works but even if that does - even if a jutsu does - mikoto would slice it like normal with an actual kitchen knife. if sasuke shows up with sliced tomatoes itachi will be looking for the blade. unless of course the uchiha have a tomato-slicing jutsu.
your best bet for what you want to accomplish is a bunch of cherry tomatoes and leaving their branching stems. i'm sorry about losing your apple metaphor but tomatoes are simply not apples.
i know this is a typo but there's a reason why i can't pass this over. none of your commenters is saying anything. and there's a percentage of them who *don't* get any fresh fruit _who'll believe you_. with the rates of poverty worldwide that's not a reach. are you kids eating your vegetables
Okay, so, first of all: it's absolutely wild you tracked me down on tumblr over a tomato. Did I ever even mention having a tumblr? Insane.
Second of all: I regularly eat tomatoes like apples. Not the big steak tomatoes (although if I could get them where I live I would probably eat them too), just normal globe tomatoes. They are delicious. I do not not need to augment them with anything. Since Sasuke's favorite food is known to be tomatoes, I figured that'd be a fun little quirk to add.
Third of all: yes, I probably could have worded it better but it was a crack fic i wrote in like an hour. By 'tough inner core' (or whatever my exact wordage was), I meant the tough, kind of weirdly stringy columella (and placenta, maybe), which is my least favorite part of a tomato because of it's difference in texture. Having eaten a tomato out of my hand (without making a mess) in exactly this way, i know from personal experience that what's left behind very much resembles what's left behind when someone else eats an apple.
I used the apple metaphor for the tomato because it was an apt way to describe it, it was funny, and it was a way to put a piece of myself into the story without making it terribly, horribly obvious. Also i just don't really like cherry tomatos. Too sweet.

How to Enjoy Winter (Even Though You’re an Adult and It’s Been a Terrible Year)
Surely most people can remember a time when they didn’t hate winter? When, even after the holidays, winter was one of the most exciting seasons? It meant playing in the snow with your friends, getting surprise day-offs from school, and drinking hot cocoa with teeny tiny marshmallows.
I still love winter, but every other person in my life hates it. To them it means waking up an hour early to shovel driveways in freezing temperatures and scrape ice off their cars, or shotgunning vitamin D in an attempt to stave off Seasonal Affective Disorder. And this year’s winter is being met with an extra dose of dread for obvious reasons.
So how do you enjoy winter like you did as a child? Obviously some things you can’t get back, especially this year, but.... most, you can, actually. Gatherings or no gatherings, you can still find the cozy sense of wonder that marked your childhood winters if you’re willing to try.
1. Go outside. Children aren’t afraid to go outside in the snow, and you shouldn’t be either. What exactly happens between childhood and adulthood that makes being slightly cold and playing in snow taboo?? Truly, I’d like to know. Even if it’s for a quick walk, being outside will make your house feel all the more welcoming, warm, and cozy. And if snow is falling, catch some on your tongue or on your hand, marvel at nature’s beautiful extremes and take a minute to appreciate snow for once instead of demonizing it. If you’ve got more time: _____a. Go for a longer winter hike and find some color (yes, there is still color out there!) and keep a look out for animal tracks, too. _____b. Bird watching is a great winter activity as well! There are plenty of birds around in the winter, and the backdrop of snow makes it easier to spot them, plus adds an extra elegance. _____c. Maybe you feel too old for snowmen or snow angels, but swedish snowball lanterns are easy to make and super pretty. _____d. PSA: Obviously if it’s blizzarding, don’t go outside, but a light snowfall is no reason to put off a walk. In fact, my favorite time to hike is when it’s snowing, because it means there are fewer people outside and the world becomes so clean and peaceful and soft.
2. Allow yourself days-off. Give yourself the gift of returning to that childhood joy of waking up and being told school is canceled. Whether that’s negotiating with your boss to allow you to work from home when it’s snowing/has snowed, or having the courage to call work and explain that you can’t make it in, or saving PTO for winter days when you wake up and look outside at your snow-covered car and just don’t want. I realize these are all privileges that not everyone has or can afford, but it’s also true that people (especially Americans) force themselves to work way harder than they need to. So really think about whether you can’t do these things, or whether you’ve been conditioned by society to believe you need to work yourself to the bone 24/7 and don’t deserve these things.
3. Lights! Warm lighting is so important in the winter, both because it makes up for the lack of sun, and because it’s a necessity in curating that cozy feel. Buy candles, or a string of lights / lanterns. If you’ve got the money, many electrical heaters have a realistic fireplace look! This one is only $60. Sitting next to a warm fire (real or fake!) with your favorite book or choice of hot drink is the exact formula for contentedness.
4. Eat your C. Oranges, tangerines, pomegranates, and persimmons are not only in season, they should be mainstays in your winter diet to give you that boost of vitamin C. They’re sweet and colorful, giving both your eyes and your taste buds something to enjoy, and they’re packing important nutrients into your body at the same time.
5. Bake. Nothing brings back happy winter thoughts like the spice of gingerbread cookies or the aroma of snickerdoodles. If ever there was a time to throw calorie counting to the wind, it’s in winter! You need those extra calories to stay warm, after all!
6. Or merrymake. Baking not your thing? You can still make hot cocoa, and add those teeny tiny marshmallows because why not! If you don’t like chocolate, you can warm up and spice (or spike) your own cider. Of course, tea or coffee is always an option, but you want to indulge, so if you always drink it, maybe consider breaking out the expensive stuff.
7. Winter activities. You don’t have to travel or pay resort fees to enjoy a sporty winter (or even be sporty!). Do you have a pool tube? Throw that sucker on a snowy hill and jump on! Don’t have a sled? Use a cardboard box! Layer duct tape over the bottom and sides (inside and out) to make it more water-proof. A large plastic laundry bin works, too. Speeding recklessly down a hill on your butt does not have to be a child-only activity. It’s still fun in adulthood, I promise.
8. Craft. Yes, the extra indoor time in winter is a good chance to pick up knitting or crochet, but there are plenty of other options if that’s not your style. Make your own snow globe or other ornaments, a pinecone wreath or any other number of DIY wreaths. Heck, if all of that sounds like too much work, go preschool and grab some paper and scissors and make paper snowflakes to tape to your windows. Nothing livens the home like homemade decorations, and nothing livens the spirit like creativity.
9. Create atmosphere. Embrace winter and bring it fully into your life. There are plenty of winter-ambience videos on youtube, or you can find/make a playlist of winter music. I personally love listening to snowstorm + crackling fire sounds while I’m falling asleep, but you can play your preferred winter sounds while reading, cleaning, baking, etc., to enjoy peak winter coziness.
In addition to all this, I have an entire post with various mori activities one can enjoy in the winter.
In general, if winter gets you down, take some pointers from Scandinavians and remember that a good or bad winter is all about mindset. Thinking of winter as dark and frigid will of course make you hate it, but all seasons have their downsides and you don’t focus on those to be miserable all year, do you? If you think of winter as cozy, beautiful, and full of treats, the good will begin to outweigh the bad and you can make every winter a time to look forward to instead of dreading.

Tag game from @findswoman -- thank you! The original rules said you're supposed to tag nine other people but I always find that sort of thing stressful, and prefer to pass on to anyone who feels like doing it :)
Favorite color: umber/sienna/dusty persimmon with gold shimmers
Currently reading: Moby Dick. Slowly.
Last song: According to Spotify, it was Wave of Mutilation by the Pixies. I worry this makes me sound cooler than I am, because I don't usually listen to the Pixies. But this one's on my mermaid playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3a42DAKXWNJdRUR7Bfiwyq?si=7c437fac56694207
Last series: Back on my Star Wars Rebels bullshit
Last movie: So, I think it was Starship Troopers? I'm kinda stuck on my WIP on a chapter that's supposed to feature space marines so I wanted to get refreshed on the genre classics. I also did Aliens 2, a vastly better movie, pour one out for Vasquez amirite? And I finally got around to watching Avatar for the first time. Not a bad movie though it's still weird to realize how ENORMOUSLY successful it was, like enormously, like from a box office perspective this is still the best movie of all time. This is our Shakespeare! And it's fun/easy to dissect from a narrative gears-turning "how does this movie get all its pieces into play and maximize the emotional impact from each one" kind of perspective. But sadly I watched both Avatar and Aliens 2 before Starship Troopers, so now I have to talk about Starship Troopers instead.
It sure was ballsy of the team to put Doogie Howser in an actual Space Nazi uniform, huh? Also, this movie has soooooo many titties! (Enthusiastic/complimentary.) I did feel real bad for the brain bug at the end. "It's afraid! Yayyyyy!" (To be clear I think this was absolutely intentional on the part of the filmmakers--like yes you're supposed to root for Rico and his team, but it's also very clear that humans are the aggressors in this war and their society is fascist. It's all carried off with a degree of smarmy, cartoonish self-satire that is a little bit confusing, especially given that the space-marine parts of it actually work really well.)
Sweet, savory, or spicy: Savory. Not much beats a really good crab rangoon. Unless it's a really good latke with sour cream. The perfect food is definitely fried and cheesy, I'm at least sure of that much.
Currently working on: Original space pirate novel, hung up on the bits where the space navy gets deployed to respond

Bleach - Name Games
Not a family by name or blood, but a kind of found family. (at least the way they were originally presented)  This time I’m tackling the Visored! And while I’m at it I want to address some of the broader thematic elements going on with their original character designs.  Buckle up, this is a long one...
Hirako(平子) Shinji(真子)
Tumblr media
Shinji’s name is actually kinda of a false start to this one.  His names read as “Flat-Child“ and “Real-Child“ but that’s keeping in mind that -ko(子) for “child” is actually just a really common suffix for names, and not one generally used to ascribe literal meaning.  (Typically because of its diminutive implications it denotes a female given name, but it applies neutrally to family names, and even generally is not uncommon in male names.)  So his name kind reads as “Flat Reality“ or “Flat Truth.“
But this one isn’t actually about the meaning of the words, it’s a different kind of name game.  As we all remember, when Hirako introduces himself to Ichigo’s class at Karakura High during his original entrance at the start of the Arrancar Arc, he writes his name on the board mirrored and mentions how he’s “good at doing things backwards.”  At the time it was a reference to him being a hollow (Remember that when Ichigo’s inner hollow was given a chapter cover, his “name” was Ichigo’s but written mirrored) and would later influence his zanpakutou, Sakanade(逆撫)
Tumblr media
As an aside here, Sakanade(逆撫) has been kind of erroneously translated as “counter stroke” in English, which is technically accurate as a literal translation but is kind of needlessly vague; For one the word “Stroke” here specifically refers to the act of stroking as in petting, patting, or smoothing over, and not something like a sword stroke; secondly the “counter” here should read more obviously as “reverse,” “opposite,” or “inverted.”
Moreover, Sakanade(逆撫で) is an actual verb already, so it doesn’t actually need to be broken down in the first place.  The word actually means exactly what it sounds like as well as having a colloquial use as, “rub the wrong way.”  Yes, other than just meaning to literally “pet in the opposite direction” (as with petting a cat or dog from tail to head) it means “to irritate” or “to annoy,” (which the former action invariably does) and that is an apt description of Sakanade’s powers.
Anyway...  About Hirako’s name not being about the meaning: the joke is that whether you write the name forward or backwards 平子真子 -vs-  子真子平, you still get Shinji(真子) out of it.  As in, his name is still legible both forwards and backwards.  Plus both kanji, 平 and 真 have horizontal symmetry, so they don’t change when mirrored..
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
Okay... let’s do an easier one...
Sarugaki(猿柿) Hiyori(ひよ里)
Tumblr media
My personal favorite Visored, has a nice straight forward name Saru(猿) as I’m sure anyone amply familiar with anime knows means “Monkey” and the Gaki(柿) is the word for the fruit “Persimmon.”  The image of a monkey in a persimmon tree references an old folktale present in various east-asian cultures about a greedy monkey who cheats other animals before eventually receiving its comeuppance at the hands of the animals it has wronged.  In this case it’s reflective of Hiyori’s general image, sandles, track suit, decidedly tomboyish and unladylike; the “mountain monkey” is a poor, rural character type in Japan, not dissimilar to the American hillbilly of the Appalachia.
In that same vein, the name Hiyori(ひよ里) has a peculiar rural slant to it, in that it uses hiragana in place of the first component.  The ri(里) is a common place indicator in surnames meaning “village” or “hamlet” but like many Japanese surnames that reference landmarks like -kawa(川)“-river,” “-yama”(山)-mountain,” and “-da”(田)”-field,” the important part isn’t actually the locale but the descriptor preceding it; Which mountain?  Which river?  Which field?  Which village?  In the case of Hiyori, it’s not clear...  The fact that the village she appears to be named after doesn’t have a kanji again lends to this impression that, like the peasants of Soul Society’s Rukongai, the person who named her didn’t know how to read or write kanji.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
Muguruma(六車) Kensei(拳西)
Tumblr media
I think this one has gotten pretty good visibility in the fandom already because of the relation with Hisagi Shuuhei.  The eventual explanation of Hisagi’s 69 tattoo would be that it was copied directly from Kensei’s, and that Kensei’s comes from a mix of his name Muguruma, and the fact that he was captain of the Gotei 13’s 9th squad. (Personally I don’t like this explanation, and I think there’s pretty reasonable cause to assume this was a later decision and not a part of Kensei’s original conception or design.)  But the reason behind that being Muguruma(六車) Mu(六) which is the Japanese numeral “6″ and Guruma(車) meaning “wagon” and later updated to mean “car.”  In the Turn Back the Pendulum sidestory, this name is played upon in how Kubo styled Kensei’s 9th squad as a Bousouzoku(暴走族) the term for a Japanese biker gang (although they often include sports cars), where the “Six Car” reading becomes emblematic of his gang.
There’s a lot about the Bousouzoku that is culturally specific to Japan, but much of the familiar American cliches do actually carry over.  One distinct aspect of how the Bousouzoku opperate however, is that they are predominantly a youth culture phenomenon, as any wide spread, organized criminal activity among adults quickly steps on the toes of the much better established Yakuza scene.  For this reason it is very rare for Bousouzoku to persist in direct group activity into their adult years, although often bikers become easy recruitment targets for Yakuza.
Kensei(拳西) is actually an odd one for me.  It’s both super straight forward yet somehow together really obtuse.  Ken(拳) for “Fist” and sei(西) for “West;“ both are pretty singular in their meaning, so it’s not like there’s any uncertainty to what each one means, but I can’t make heads or tails of the two together.  For one,  Ken(拳) is usually something you’d see put on the end of a compound, and when it’s used that way it tends to denote a kind of martial arts style or technique.  It might still be meant to read as “Western Fist” or essentially “Western [style] Fist” and Kubo just liked the sound of Kensei over Seiken.  It might be a reference to the fact that Kensei’s original design was largely reminiscent of a kind of military look and feel, with a combat knife for a zanpakutou, short hair, combat boots, and pants that look like they could be part of military fatigues. (the tank top sorta throws the look off, though.)  But this was a theme that was dropped by the time the Visored got reincorporated into the story after their long absence.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
Yadoumaru(矢胴丸) Risa(リサ)
Tumblr media
...is another odd one.  Her surname, Yadoumaru(矢胴丸)  has pretty clear implications, Ya(矢) means “arrow” and dou(胴) means “hull” as in the part of a ship, and maru(丸) doesn’t actually have an explicit meaning.  The kanji does generally mean “round” or “whole” both in reference to a circle, but it is most notably a suffix used in naming both naval ships, and frequently boys.  Given the rest of the name the imagery seems clear, Yadoumaru(矢胴丸) is meant to read as “Arrow-Hull Ship.“*  And although the uniform has heavy ties to school girl aesthetics and fetishism (which in turn link to her preoccupation with adult books) the tie here actually seems to be to the origins of the Japanese school girl uniform as a modification of the European naval uniforms introduced to Japan in the 1800s.
*edit: I’m an idiot.  A Yadou(胴丸) is the sleeveless chest plate and skirt piece in traditional samurai armor, which also carries over into kendo sports armor.
Adding to this, the name RISA (sometimes romanized as LISA) being written in katakana and not kanji or even hiragana works together with the naval associations would seem to imply she’s of mixed birth?  Possibly the daughter of a foreign naval officer stationed in Japan, hence a Western name and a ship as a surname?  In fact, most Japanese ships would be named after some mythical figure or indeed named like a person, so the literal descriptor of “Arrow-hull” actually sounds like what someone would call a ship they didn’t know the name of, tacking “-maru” on to the end.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
Let me also take a moment here to complain about the fact that Kubo originally wrote Rabu(ラヴ) and Roozu(ローズ) as katakana, pretty clearly denoting them as the English words LOVE and ROSE and while those seem pretty implicitly like nicknames it also implied in conjunction with their designs that they were both foreigners.  So the fact that he retconned them to being nicknames based on more conventionally Japanese when he decided to make them previously SoulSociety shinigami names bugs me...  But that being said
Aikawa(愛川) Rabu(羅武)
Tumblr media
Man, what is it with Kubo and black people and “love” gimmicks?  Zomarri’s Amor, and PePe’s The Love, Love’s whole thing...  The name Aikawa(愛川) means “Love River,” and Kubo’s clever shorehorning of kanji into the phonetics for Rabu that he’d already used for the nickname Love use  Ra(羅) for “silk,” but specifically a thin or sheer kind, and bu(武) for “warrior”/”soldier.“  The associations with sheer silk and negligee seem very intentional, so his name really is basically “flowing love, [sexy] silk soldier.“  And that’s it, it’s actually super straight forward.  I dunno why he looks like an unemployed slacker, in a tracksuit and sneakers, lounging around reading manga, though.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
Otouribashi(鳳橋) Roujuurou(楼十郎)
Tumblr media
This might be my favorite as far as name games within the Visored.  The given name Roujuurou(楼十郎) means “Watchertower 10 Son;” Rou(郎) being an exceedingly common suffix in boys names meaning “son.” (this is incidentally how anyone with a rudimentary familiarity with Japanese knew for certain Yuushirou(四楓院) was a boy at first glance, where as a bunch of other people thought he was a girl.  In case any of you were around certain fandom circles for that whole drama...  More on him later though, because he’s got a fun name too.)  It’s not super clear if the arrangement here denotes the “Son of the 10th Watchtower [family],” or the “10th Son of the Watchtower [family].”
The surname Otouribashi(鳳橋) is a great little work of poeticism, where Outouri(鳳) is the Japanese name of the Chinese Feng(鳳) which in the most colloquial sense could be translated as “Phoenix,” but there’s a little more to it than that...
See, the Feng is itself the male half of the mated pair of mythical birds together called the Feng-Huang(鳳凰).  The Japanese pronunciation Outori is actually directly taken from Ou(王) meaning “King” and Tori(鳥) meaning “bird.”  The mythical Feng-huang is in fact king of birds, but more broadly represents a union of yin and yang, and is a common visual element of Chinese weddings evoking harmony.  As a part of this theme of unity it is said to share features of many different birds, and also of the 5 fundamentally opposed colors associated with Chinese daoism and fengshui: Red, Blue/Green, Black, White, and Yellow.  This particular feature has been tweaked over time to depict the Feng-huang as more broadly multicolored, and associated with the rainbow.  (it’s also the basis of the Pokemon Ho-oh, if that wasn’t apparent)  For a number of different mythological similarities, the Feng-huang have become erroneously thought of as “the Chinese phoenix,” but I’m not going to get into all that here...
So, getting back to the name, Bashi(橋) means “Bridge.”  The, again false equivalence based, but more easily understood translation of Otouribashi(鳳橋) thus being “Phoenix Bridge.”  But what is shaped like a bridge and directly associated with the Feng?  A rainbow.  His family name is just a really fanciful and kind of poetic reference to a rainbow.  In conjunction with the “Watchtower” referenced in the name Roujuurou(楼十郎) I’m tempted to take to the meaning of “10th [Floor of the] Watchtower Son” as it implies a high floor, and in the common mythological motif of rainbows as actual physical structures, a high tower would be the sensible entry point to a rainbow bridge.
Also this is why he has a bird mask.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
Kuna(久南) Mashiro(白)
Tumblr media
Let me just come right out and say that I haven’t got a damn clue on this one.  Mashiro(白) means “White.” Ku(久) means “long time,” na(南) means “South.”  She dresses like a super sentai character, specifically one of the original Himitsu Sentei Goranger team, and her mask is a nod to Kamen Rider, with its antenna and big round bug-eyes.  I don’t really see a connection with the name and the tokusatsu theme though.
Small aside, Tokusatsu is a genre of Japanese TV and film that was originally named for its emphasis on special effects like camera tricks and editing in post, used most noticeably in children’s shows like Super Sentai and Kamen Rider.  That distinction became less and less relevant as special effects became more widespread, and so it is now used mostly to refer to live-action costumed super hero shows.
Super Sentai is btw the source material for the American franchise, Power Rangers, from which Saban Entertainment originally bought the footage that they would cut together with their own original footage, and later from which they would buy the costumes in order to shoot their own shows from scratch.
Also of note is that Ishinomori Shoutarou, author of the original Cyborg 009, was also the original show creator of Kamen Rider and Super Sentai.  His work created the transforming(henshin) hero, the body suit and helmet aesthetic, and the heroic billowing scarf, effectively inventing the Japanese superhero almost single-handed.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
Ushouda(有昭田) Hachigen(鉢玄)
Tumblr media
Another funky one...  “[To] Exist [in] a Shining Field” might be the best way to read Ushouda(有昭田)?  Its really the U(有) that gives me trouble here, as it just means “Exist”/”Existance.”  And Hachigen(鉢玄) seems to read Hachi(鉢) meaning “bowl” and Gen(玄) meaning “deep,” “mysterious” and in certain contexts “occult.”  I’m not sure if that “deep” is really a physical deepness or just a sort of “profoundness” that would fall more in line with “mysterious” and “occult.”
Either way I think the general meaning is actually pretty clear, “bowls of rice from a shining field” evoke an image of kind of mythical field of magical produce, eating from which grants a kind of magical quality and sustenance.  In other words, his name is saying that Hachi is such a huge guy and so gifted at magic because he ate a lot of food that grants magic power.
I have no idea why he has the tux or the shaved hair though.  Stage magician?  Fancy gourmand?  But again then why the shaved head and the cross bones?  And Kubo did eventually come up with for him is strangely Balinese looking?  It seems reminiscent of Barong, king of spirits; A benevolent lion/bear monster that defends mankind from Rangda, the demon queen and master of blackmagic.  But apart from the superficial appearance and broad ties to magic, there’s not a lot really tying the two together.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
It’s hard not to just go off on all the weird little design choices, and loose ends, dropped plot points, and retcon’d details that surround the Visored in Bleach.  They really were just such a great concept utterly wasted by terrible pacing and some truly confusing priorities as far as publication goes, eithe ron Kubo’s part, editorial, or both...  But that’s a story for another time...

do you wear perfume? if you do what are your favorites?
Yes, I love perfume, haha. The ones I wear currently are Marina de Bourbon cristal royal, which smells AMAZING! I bought it at Versailles but you can find it online! (I’ll have to buy another bottle soon) the other kind I commonly wear is one I actually made at a Galimard perfume class! I called it “September” (my birth month). But, a more common one I wear and love I actually got from bath and body! It’s called “Vanilla Bean Noelle” (Yes, unfortunately it is a Christmas scent) but it smells sooooo good.
There is another kind that I don’t currently own, but it smells incredible. Voluspa Saijo Persimmon perfume. It smells just like fresh cute persimmons and peaches on a summers day, it’s so dreamyyyy.

𝙲𝙷𝙰𝚁𝙰𝙲𝚃𝙴𝚁 𝙸𝙽𝚃𝙴𝚁𝚅𝙸𝙴𝚆.
( repost, don’t reblog )
Tumblr media
BASICS
NAME:  Hello, I’m Rita Spencer.
NICKNAME: My Papa (grandfather), Mayor Domino, likes to call me ‘Mouse’...
AGE:  [verse dependent, but in canon] I’m on the cusp of 30 and coming on a decade of working with Director Tuesti.
SPECIES: I’m human (though as a girl I dreamed of being something magical, like in the books I read).
PERSONAL
MORALITY:  LAWFUL / NEUTRAL / CHAOTIC / GOOD / GREY / EVIL
I like to think I’m a good person. Though, lately, I admit that simply by showing up at work everyday, I’m actually doing more long-term harm than good...
RELIGION: I wouldn’t say I’m particularly religious.
SINS:  greed  /  gluttony  /  sloth  /  lust  /  pride  /  envy /   wrath
VIRTUES:  chastity  /  charity  /  diligence  /  humility  /  kindness / patience  / justice
PRIMARY GOALS IN LIFE: I’ve always wanted to help support the people I care about, but also achieve something amazing. I joined the ShinRa Company largely influenced by my grandfather. I thought I’d be part of a working toward a space launch, or pioneering new sustainable technologies, maybe even finding a partner who shared my vision and goals. But, it hasn’t entirely worked out quite like I thought it would...
KNOWN  LANGUAGES: Standard Midgar, though I practiced Wutainese for a few semesters - not enough for fluency, but enough to know some key phrases...
PHYSICAL BUILD: scrawny  / bony  /  slender /  fit /  athletic  /  curvy  /  herculean  /  pudgy  /  average
HEIGHT:  I’m pretty average height for a woman, though I’m taller in my heels.
WEIGHT:  That’s not the most polite thing to ask about, you know... but I like to consider myself a healthy person with an active lifestyle (running up HQ stairs counts, right?), and that’s what’s important to me.
SCARS  /  BIRTHMARKS: I have the faintest scar on my right leg from a burn I got dismounting from a motorcycle on a disastrous first date. Needless to say, we didn’t work out. I also have many freckles.
ABILITIES  / POWERS:
Data analysis is one of my specialties. And I’m a definite policy wonk. I love seeing how data shows the intersection between so many seemingly disparate ideas and topics.
I’m a very organized, and DIrector Tuesti calls this my not-so-secret superpower. I also have a deep love for office supplies.
I consider myself pretty fit. I bike and exercise often. Could I be the most useful fighter on a team? Perhaps not. Would I be pretty good at running away? Yes.
I do love art. As a child I especially practiced drawing and painting mediums. It’s something I still do in my spare time. Some of my favorite pieces are silhouettes of people I know and care about.
RESTRICTIONS
I do consider myself a fairly guarded person. That’s not to say I won’t be open or kind to you, but it’s not always easy for me to talk about myself.
I grew up learning about politics and diplomacy, not fighting. I have a lot to learn in that arena before I’m useful to anyone there.
FAVORITES
FOOD: Dried fruit makes the best on-the-go work snack. I am particularly fond of apricots and persimmons. Waffles are my guilty pleasure.
DRINK: Usually tea or water. If it’s alcohol, I do enjoy dark beers or a glass of red wine.
PIZZA TOPPING:  arugula-prosciutto
COLOR: Hmmm, I’m going to have to say teal.
MUSIC GENRE: I don’t really keep up with contemporary music, but I enjoy soothing acoustic instrumental music like pianos or guitars in the background while I do work.
BOOK GENRE: I love reading all sorts of books. I try to vary my genres between nonfiction and fiction, but find myself loving the escape of romance novels the most.
MOVIE GENRE: I don’t watch many movies, but when I do, I love comedies.
SEASON: Autumn is one of my favorite times. I’m not sure I could even say why, but there’s something about the quietude of Midgar nights in autumn...
CURSE WORD: I have been known to say “shit” in really dire circumstances.
SCENTS: rich, warm scents - bread baking, incense and candles of amber or sandalwood, coffee
FUN STUFF
BOTTOM OR TOP: Well...that’s personal. But since you asked, I consider myself a very open minded person who enjoys switching things up. That said, honestly, some days a girl just needs to lay down a be taken care of.
SINGS IN THE SHOWER: I am very guilty of doing this, but I live alone and my neighbors haven’t complained yet...

Names I Like: Pilar, Pippa, Paulette, Patrice, Portia, Pia. And now, onto the random questions! 1. Do you prefer pens or pencils? Pens, for sure. I don’t like how pencil writing can be erased and that you have to keep sharpening them. 2. Pretzels, popcorn, or potato chips? I’d go with the chips. I always felt like pretzels were too salty for my liking and I just hate chewing popcorn. 3. What do you like on your pizza? Four kinds of cheese ;) Hahaha I also love me a good barbecue pizza with barbecue chicken and sauce. 4. When was the last time you felt puzzled? Earlier when my mom was asking me and my dad for help making a Facebook caption but was rejecting all of our suggestions. 5. Parrots, parakeets, pelicans, peacocks, penguins, pigeons, or puffins? Ooh I love these birds but I’ll have to go with penguins. Have y’all seen that penguin documentary narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch where he kept saying the word ‘penguin’ wrong every time? Penglings, pengwings, penwangs...it’s so hilarious and so so adorable lmao. Anyway, this is a very long way to just say penguins lol. 6. Favorite way to eat potatoes? (potato salad, scalloped, baked, etc) French fries and mojos. 7. Would you ever like to meet the Pope? I’d love to meet the current one; he actually already paid the Philippines a trip around four years ago. He seems much more accepting of taboo topics than the past popes. 8. Have you ever felt like punching, pushing, or pinching someone before? I’ve felt like doing all three to different people, yes. 9. Which parades have you been to? Pride March, most recently. When I was a kid my mom and grandma also made me a part of a parade that my local community was having for Holy Week. 10. Did you ever collect pine cones as a kid? No, I don’t think we have those here. 11. Do you believe that pennies on the ground are good luck? I wouldn’t be able to relate; we don’t have pennies. 12. How many pillows do you sleep with? Two. I lay my head on one and I cuddle with one. If I don’t have a cuddle pillow it’s like 3x harder for me to fall asleep. 13. Do you have any plants in your room? Hell no, haha. I’ve tried before, but I’m just awful at looking out for them. 14. Pink or purple? Pink, though purple was my childhood favorite because it had been my great-grandma’s favorite. 15. Favorite kind of pie? I don’t like pie as a whole but I will eat the shit out of pie crusts. 16. What’s the last package that you received? My dad bought a pack of those thingies that you stick to your car so that you can stick your phone on them so that it’s eazier to use GPS apps. 17. Do you like Peeps at Easter? Tried Peeps once. Wasn’t a fan. Probably won’t enjoy it at Easter either. 18. Peanuts, pine nuts, pistachios, or pecans? Pistachios. 19. Pears, peaches, plums, papayas, pomegranates, or persimmons? Heh, it’s a pass forme. 20. Pumpkins, peppers, peas, or parsnip? Peppers. 21. Do you like to paint? What? I like paint-by-number kits, but I’m definitely not an artist who can paint stuff from scratch on a blank canvas. 22. When’s the last time you felt puzzled? What about? Earlier tonight; I explained it a while ago. 23. Have you ever been called a prude before? Nope. 24. Have you ever been on a plane before? Where did you go? Yes, many times. Overseas-wise it was me headed to China, Singapore, and Indonesia. It’s a longer list if I also did local but I’ll try – Batanes, Bohol, Palawan, Cebu, Aklan, Bicol, Camarines Sur...and I’m sure there’s a couple more that I’m missing. 25. How often do you use paper clips? Not often. I prefer staplers. [a-zebra-is-a-striped-horse]

𝖒 𝖆 𝖌 𝖎 𝖈
ALUMNI HOUSE: Hufflepuff WAND (length, flexibility, wood, & core):  9 ¼ inches, ash, phoenix feather core, slightly springy.  The saying goes that ash wands are stubborn but it isn’t the arrogant or crass type of stubborn that attracts this wood.  It is drawn to a person whose beliefs are held strongly in their mind and deeply in their heart.  Combined with a core of phoenix feather and it’s slightly springy nature, Emmeline’s wand is particularly loyal and becomes finnicky in the hands of anyone other than it’s owner. MORAL ALIGNMENT: Neutral Good MBTI: ENFJ-A (Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging, Assertive) MBTI ROLE: The Protaganist ENNEAGRAM: Type 2 ENNEAGRAM ROLE: The Helper TEMPERAMENT: Sanguine WESTERN ZODIAC: Virgo
Virgos are always paying attention to the smallest details and their deep sense of humanity makes them one of the most careful signs of the zodiac. This will lead to a strong character, but one that prefers conservative, well-organized things and a lot of practicality in their everyday life. These individuals have an organized life, and even when they let go to chaos, their goals and dreams still have strictly defined borders in their mind. Their need to serve others makes them feel good as caregivers, on a clear mission to help.
CHINESE ZODIAC: Rooster
Roosters are smart, charming, witty, honest, blunt, capable, talented, brave, and self-reliant. They are known for their ability to do astounding things with extremely limited resources. Their way is always right (in their mind, at least), and they love to debate their stance. Roosters are extremely sociable and bask in attention and praise.
PRIMAL SIGN: Corgi
Loyal, observant, and analytical, those born under the Primal Zodiac sign of the Corgi are devoted friends and family members who take on the role of caretaker with great passion. Few others are as eager to jump in and help a friend in need, and Corgis take great pride in this. More so than other signs, members of this sign like to fill a very specific role in the lives of other people, thus getting the majority of their own personal fulfillment through their service to others.
TAROT CARD: Justice
The Justice Tarot card has to do with moral sensitivity and that which gives rise to empathy, compassion, and a sense of fairness. Since the time of Solomon, this image has represented a standard for the humane and fair-minded treatment of other beings.  This card reminds us to be careful to attend to important details. It's a mistake to overlook or minimize anything where this card is concerned.
SONGS: coming soon, i suck at this
IDEOLOGIES: Doesn’t believe in wallowing or living in the past.  Mistakes get made and bad things happen and the only way to get past it all is to pick yourself up and keep on walking.
Tea over coffee.  Fight her about it.  Get yourself some black tea if you need the caffeine.
There is exactly nothing that can’t be made better by a dance party around the flat with the music so loud that you can’t hear your own thoughts anymore.
There is no excuse for inequality.  People are people and the only way to get through this life is to care about the people inhabiting the world around you.  Most common thought - “I don’t know how to explain to you that you should care about other people.”

14. WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL ARE YOU?
“Good grief, well.. I have heard crane, before, I suppose that is somewhat fitting.”
