He noticed his lips hurt too, and felt a small gash on them. His arms were covered in scratches and cuts, and as he moved to sit up, he winced at a pain coming from his waist. “What the hell happened to me?” Harry sighed. “Niall… can get a bit… excited.” “Was he excited about hitting me on the head?” “No!” Harry said. “Niall just got away with himself.” “Does he do that often? Get away with himself, I mean?” Louis asked wryly. “Only when an idea gets stuck in his head that he can’t get out.”

For being the God of Death, Niall has a habit of acting on ideas without thinking them through. It's probably why Harry ends up with an unexpected but entirely welcome visitor in his bed the day after a Mount Olympus party.

Last Line(s) Love After the End of the World

Thank you @so-why-let-your-voice-be-tamed @harrystinyshorts and @reminiscingintherain for the tags. I finally got the first words from my favorite scene and in my opinion the most important and insane scene in the whole fic and I’m absolutely 🐝buzzing🐝.

Thank you to everyone who helped me on Sunday to give my very last fuck about not sharing my work. I’m a writer. I love writing. And I’m damn proud of it in all it’s unedited glory.

Here’s three sentences for three beautiful souls.

He understood then that you don't really feel like you're floating until you realize you still have room to fall.

The rushing sound in Louis’s ears—the careening screech of shattered accidents spurred on by blazing adrenaline bursts of terror—drove him full force back to consciousness and he collided with the blistering black that was the inside of his eyelids. Every organ floating around the hollows of his body suddenly locked back into gravity by defying it, lurching up and jamming into his throat so that in the split instant his lungs spasmed and he recognized he was still breathing, his body forgot how to breathe.

1) Three Days in February: Could I truly pick any other? This wee sleeper cell  (yes, the pun is intended) Larry brought the most amazing people into my life and made it onto four top fics of 2020 lists despite being my first fic. I spent two days sobbing my eyes out about that one. I’m quite terrible at trying to sum up my own stuff, but @hadestyles ranted at me about this one:

“The plot is so unique and the fandom has always been ginger with toying with rare tropes but you crashed in with an out of the box fic with a slow burn, hitting head to a wall angst, I will strangle you idiots level of pining, please stfu before I die laughing banter, god they’re fucking ridiculous and relatable characters and then the mystery!!! There’s also the stifling sexual tension...at one point I had the urge to just throw them in a room and make them fuck it out. And YOU COULD WRITE IT BUT STEPHEN KING COULDN’T WRITE CH 13.”

I’m also still finding out that half the things I put in here as part of the story have actually happened in some form or another!? I’m mildly concerned about that.

Everyone who has given this beautiful darling a chance, you have my undying gratitude and likely a lot of tears and snot on your shoulder now from my overwhelmed wailing. But with luck, you were also too busy snorting out so much laughter to notice!

B) Event Horizon: This one is my writing style at it’s most unrestrained. It’s only 4k because it’s so intense even I couldn’t handle more than that. Not only that, but I put a massive plot twist in this one that as far as I know got everyone!!! \o/

I love magical realism and messing with tropes, so this one flips the soulmate trope on its head while still having a happy ending. I’m quite proud of that. As @harryanthus described it: “Along with a soulmate you gain powers that you have no control over and no one teaches you how because it’s different for everyone and when you find someone who is supposed to stay by your side and help you face it, you just depend on them. In the thrill of being in a relationship healthy boundaries get blurred and it is hard to admit that you need HELP, so H and L admitting that they cannot do it alone and need help is brave.”

I’d love to see the idea turned into a full feature-length fic too. Not necessarily my universe, but the idea! Any takers? 👀

III) Christmas Idiots : Wrote this one on a whim for the 1DChristmasFest and almost scrapped it too! It has my brand of action in it, but it’s also the softest and fluffiest thing I’ve written to date. My favorite about this one is that I wanted to create a fic you could curl up with in front of a fire all cozy and just enjoy the winter feelz. From what I can tell, I’ve succeeded in that! I also absolutely love that everyone calls it Christmas Idiots, because that isn’t even the official title! 🤣

Then) Fractured: Officially the first fest for me, ToT! Only 666 words, if you’ve read and seen the word count on TDIF, you’ll see why that’s such an accomplishment. It was my first foray into Louis’s POV and I managed to pack so many clues and emotions into this one and I’m just super proud of how it turned out.

Finally) Interlude: One Night In March : This is the closest to a complete PWP I’ve come. All my fics straddle fine lines ( 😉 ) and this one is no different. Even this one has clues and twists because all is not what it seems and that makes me so happy!

Seven-Sentence Sunday

Loved reading your brilliant snips, @evilovesyou​ @dehydratedpoolfics​ @cyantific​ and @zannithinks​​ !! 60k into mine, pretty slow for ten days of work, but here’s seven unedited sentences that don’t give too much away!

The floor is solid, the windows unbroken, but Harry’s certain the ground is crumbling beneath the weight of everything Louis is telling him. 

Louis finally turns to face him, but the last rays of sunlight have already lost their grip on the horizon. The golden hues have tumbled over the edge, dragging Louis back into the cool tones of stark shadows and distant moonlight. They highlight the determined agony suddenly carving into the grim lines of his face.

“Lou…” Harry doesn’t know how to control his voice as well as Louis does, but he tries, because something is flaring up in his stomach. He can’t tell if it’s hope, hysteria, or horror slowly dawning on him with the dying of the light. “What’re you saying.” ********

Life-Size Snippet Sunday!

Is it Sunday again already!? Well, in honour of the official reveal that Zanni and I are co-writing Take Me Everywhere, the Life Size/Barbie AU, here is our first sneak peek that isn’t one of the two snippets we both posted on the prompt post! Fingers crossed we’re hoping to have this out mid-January! (And also yes, @hadestyles tagged me (thanks, love!!!) and @makethebestofwhatyouget and @harryanthus both requested a snippet from this fic, so here you go loves!)

Harry isn’t seven inches tall anymore, so this snippet isn’t just seven sentences.

“You’re a doll.”

Harry blinks, glances down at himself. Curls so springy-soft they should only be possible after a trip to a bloody stylist tickle Louis’s forehead. Louis forces himself not to follow Harry’s gaze down.

“No I’m not.”

“Not right now you aren’t, but you are a doll. You’re my sister’s fucking doll and—“ Thudding his head back into the closet door hiding them in the dark, Louis forces in a deep breath when his voice starts to rise, strained with hysteria. He can’t fucking think with Harry this close. 

This time Louis presses his hand to Harry’s chest. 

Beneath warm muscles, a heart beats into his palm. 

Harry looks down at his hand, then back up to him. Louis can see it out of the corner of his eye but he can’t look away from his hand, trying to reconcile all over again the steady, solid heat beneath his hand with ‘doll’.

“Louis…”

The low drawl washes over Louis’s senses, quiet and curious and confused and Louis’s inhale is perfectly normal and even. His fingers curl into his own hoodie and he pushes until Harry finally takes a step back.

Mind clearing because he can breathe again, Louis finally looks up to green eyes that are too clear, too candid, too genuine.

Seven Sentence Sunday !!!

no one tagged me and it is not seven sentences but i’m excited about this so !!! have a snippet from my continuation/longer version of and it gets colder and colder

Louis’ arms wind up around his neck, tipping forward until their noses brush, gentle and warm.

Harry inhales the scent of vanilla and baby powder, cupping his cheeks and stroking the soft skin.

The kiss is tentative and to Harry it feels like coming home.

Louis whines trying to fight for control, then slowly he gives in, turning pliant under him.

He tangles his cold fingers at the base of his nape, tugging at the baby curls, stealing warmth and hot breaths and ash from Harry’s mouth.

Harry is the first to pull away.

“Kiss me more and everyone’ll think you sucked a dick,” he teases, watching Louis and his lidded eyes and kissed mouth and the red sitting high on his freckled cheeks.

Fuck if he’s not the prettiest boy ever.

“I’d suck you off right now without hesitation,” he shoots back, dipping for another kiss.

A moan is stuck in his throat. The mouth on his boy is filthy.

His boy.

it's already monday but shhh. i've been tagged by @vellichorthing @defencelesst @falsegoodnight @mercurial-madhouse @princelouisau @outropeace @thepolourryexpress and @theisolatedlily for both sss and last line. mixed up both and dropped a fic but since i need validation, here is a little sth from a wip

“It’s not stupid of you, love,” Louis murmurs, kissing her bare shoulder, rubbing her sides.

Harry sighs, plush lips pulled into a pout, leaning on her chest. “I know, it’s sort of stupid — just I’ve never had this, you know. No one has ever wanted to —” She cuts himself off with a strangled noise in her throat, hands waving aimlessly, snuggling closer.

“Wanted to listen?” Louis tries, filling in the gap, tightening her hold around her waist, thumb rubbing over the laurels inked low on her tummy.

She hums, twisting to bury her face in Louis’ neck. “Yeah, it’s always been me listening and never talking.”

“I’m willing to listen and no, this is not out of duty or anything, H. I want to listen to what you have to say because we’ve promised ourselves to each other, yeah, and I don’t ever want to make you feel like you don’t have a voice. So, you can talk to me. I promise I will listen,” she promises, palm sliding up her stomach.

“I love you. I’ve always hated talking and I justified it by giving in to my internalised misogyny, y’know. Women aren’t supposed to be outspoken anyway. I thought I was doing my part to fit in.”

“Fit in a box made by a patriarchal society?”

“When you are young and spend a lot of time with women who have been told a husband and a house is all they are born for, shitty things get ingrained into your head.”

ahhh thank you @falsegoodnight & @allwaswell16 for tagging me! this is so hard because i barely put things out (art & fics) but fjdkd i managed to grab 5 lolol so here we go!

1. through the wheatfields and the coastlines — my baby. so far, my favorite thing i’ve ever written. i don’t know if i’m ever going to move on from these dorks. cowboy harry has my heart and will continue to have my heart. it’s the longest thing i’ve ever written and if you would’ve told me it was going to be 50k+ words, i would’ve not believed you lolol. it was only supposed to be 15k-20k long! i love her sm

2. louis’ 29th birthday — i’ve been so busy with school that i haven’t gotten to drawn much, but i really wanted to do something for both louis’ 29th and the lovely livestream concert that i’m still watching daily! it’s one of my favorite pictures ever and i just really wanted to capture pop punk princess louis!

3. bang bang (my baby shot me down) — hehe i’m proud of the humor in this, honestly. i really love canon compliant fics and i’ve been itching to write one myself! i’ve had all these ideas but the blff really kicked me into shape hehe i love it! i was scared that the ending would be too silly for everyone, but so far people seem to be enjoying it.

4. ttwatc christmas art — honestly i just love drawing these cuties!!! i could draw harry, louis, & winnie all day long if i could. maybe if i had the motivation lolol but yeah, i’m really proud of this one because i put so much time into it :’)

5. (you’re gonna see me in a) new light — my first blff and my first fic ever !!! it came out last year and i’m thankful that it led me to participating again & meeting a bunch of new lovely people.

He sometimes wonders how well he is pretending, how well the mask fits over his features that he hides the overwhelming fear from pouring out of him, dripped from his clothes like rain water.

It’s so funny, the way everyone is so scared and yet they pretend and play and play and pretend, lost in a dizzying routine, eyes blurry and movements brisk, running away from their fears.

Fears follow like shadows.

He thinks about the tears and the lost feeling, his body in white, his hands with rings, nails trimmed and palms pink, looking at the reflection, trying to smile and smile and smile.

Sometimes he is brave and takes the label off his back and sticks it on the glass. A question.

1) and it gets colder and colder — this means to world to me. what started out as another 600 word drabble became a mini monster with flawed characters and pain. the ending is my favourite. i don’t remember where i read it but it said something along the lines of sex being something we have in order to feel. it shouldn’t always have to be good or end in an orgasm and it stuck to me.

2) a broken prayer on repeat — this is a poem/drabble that wrote itself. there is a whole world waiting to be explored in it and i always feel happy when i see it – it is baffling to me that i wrote it. i adore it with all of me.

3) there’s happiness because of you — i love my established relationship, utterly domestic, sappy, i want to wake up to your ugly mug forever little fics. it was also written for one of the best people here @falsegoodnight. i’m very very proud of the softness that runs throughout the fic.

4) spirit meets the bones — again another one i impulsively wrote for the above mentioned friend’s birthday. it holds something raw and healing in itself. it also pushed and prodded at my boundaries and the end result is gorgeous.
