Cass flicked through the records, giving a sigh as he searched through the new collections that had been brought in over the school term. His head bopped along to his own music as he seached, but was abruptly interrupted by someone tapping his shoulder. Cass blinked, pulling his headphones off and turning his head, fingers still resting over the records so he didn’t lose his place. “Sorry? Didn’t catch that, what did you say?”

Piper mouthed a sorry to the person standing in front of her, hastily wrapping up her phone call before hanging up and pocketing her cell. “Sorry…” she reiterated aloud with an apologetic smile, “…I’m playing Errand Girl for the radio station today—though I guess that’s kind of what I do every day! Fancy bumping into you here, though…how are you?”

"So what I'm saying is, in this very long winded way, is that I would rather attend Spectrum with a friend than have to go alone and get all scared when I can't see anyone! Not a date, but not not a date. You could come to mine and we could get all glittered?"

It was about time the outside world caught up with his house. It had been Christmas since November in Isaac’s house. A few days after Halloween he’d awoke to find the house decked from head to toe in holiday decorations, as per usual everything was colour coordinated (white with silver and gold, this year) and before he’d even woken up they’d had someone else come in and meticulously place everything. It was bizarre, something he’d missed while at the castle, like being slingshot straight back into his childhood. Not that Isaac disliked Christmas, he was fond of all the food and decorations were pretty, also all the hideous jumpers making an appearance- which were, without a doubt, one of his favourite things about the season. Not to mention that December came with a day which was well and truly all about him so that was a fairly nice thing too. Isaac had spent the entire morning trying cake samples that had been flown over from Paris, there was something rather pleasant about lounging in his mother’s studio while he ate bites of cake and she scribbled down his thoughts and sent the order off for the cake to be ready for his birthday. Stepping back out into London, after all that sweetness he needed something bitter, and headed to the nearest coffee shop to set his taste-buds back in order. Cakes and coffee for breakfast- a fairly perfect way to start the day. It could get better though. Spying a familiar face browsing the festive shop-fronts, Isaac stepped up beside them and mused aloud, “Please tell me you’re in the market for that hideous ensemble over there, 3D knitted baubles may not be practical but perhaps you can pull it off?”

It was New Years Eve and Tyler was... working. It wasn’t his day to work and technically he had volunteered to take on the extra shift but it was something of a choice he had to make rather than one he wanted to- much like Christmas. This wasn’t how he pictured the night being. There was just no other choice, he knew Jeremy was dealing with a lot and when he all but vanished- save his vague texts about being ok and not needing to be found- Tyler realised fairly quickly that requesting his company tonight was just not going to happen. He had saved himself the actual rejection by simply not asking, deciding it was easier to deal with things this way instead, by just busying himself as a distraction from what had been a rather awful end to the year. In true Spectrum fashion, Tyler had arrived at work and been immediately made up, rainbow glitter stripes across both cheeks and little red hearts painted carefully on his lips, hair twisted up in a messy bun with tiny star clips holding it together. Whoever said you had to look better to feel better was a rotten liar. Still, Tyler was nothing if not dedicated to what he did, and the bar was busy tonight with the New Year soon to be rung in. He collected the payment from another customer with a flash of a smile at his tips, secured the money away and then shifted along to greet the next patron, “What can I get you?”

“Why is this drink so pretty? It just... The swirls and the... The smoke at the top? It’s so pink.” Xi wept into her drink after admiring it, then looked up as the multiple empty cocktail glasses floated back to the bar. She looked up at the person sitting opposite her in the booth. “I will never be as pretty as this drink.”

Willa missed her time in France; and while France had its own problems and she knew she could always go back to France tomorrow, she felt she was needed here. For what, she wasn’t sure yet. Didn’t have much of a plan either but the first step might be to settle in for the small battles. She was strolling some wizarding neighborhoods for a flat. The next step would be finding a steady job but that would mean opening the Prophet again and seeing all the strife happening in her community. “I gotta be honest, the UK’s weather doesn’t do this bleak and dreary atmosphere any favors. See anything nice yet?”Â

“Would you like to donate to the orphanage? I’m collecting toys starting now so we can give the kids a great holiday season.” Meredith volunteered for the ministry orphanage and she had never asked for donations but she hoped people would be generous.

“Shhhh....this is a library.” He whispered before turning back to his Herbology assignment. “Can you believe that? No wonder they’re not gonna get kicked out, they’re flirting with Xiao.”

“Would you mind doing Step 4? I can take notes.” Cass suggested, using his sweater to turn the stone handle of the silver knife towards his potions partner. He turned to skim through the rest of the steps of the potion, gulping when he realised the silver knife would be used for pretty much every other step involved.

“Oh this is River! I actually found him in a river and I’m fostering him for now. Though I don’t know how I’m ever going to let him go. I might have to just keep him he’s my little buddy. The vet says he’s gonna be a big dog though.” Jeremy have a small pat to River’s head as he snoozed on Jer’s lap.

"So I decided to stop being sad and start being hot." He finished with an ironic smirk. He was still sad of course, but that morning Sonder had awoken to a need to put on a full face of makeup. "People think my migrant parents must be so disgusted but my dad asked if I can do his eyes sometimes! He's very cute! Did you see him when you came in? He's around somewhere. Any way, what do you think of the shop? Charming, right?! I love it here! I feel so lucky dad employed me even though he's probably alright on his own." Sonder was standing at the counter of his father's muggle magic shop. It sold black wands with white tips, card trick manuals, and whoppie cushions. But it also stocked a range of crystals and books on how to harness your own energy. "My idea." He gloated proudly.

Isaac was glad to have a break from the fashion world, unbelievably. It was his first time attending all the fashion weeks, when he was young he didn’t used to go and they always fell in school time so until graduation he’d been busy attending to his studies. Isaac had always imagined it would be incredible, the runways and the parties, which were truly amazing... but his parents forgot to mention that fashion week, for their family, was also all about making positive business connections, seeking out information about new lines, attending pre-show conferences and generally being on a 24/7 parade of his own. He was actually fairly relieved when his family said he should stay behind in London, and miss the first two days in Paris, to attend the gala instead. While he still had to be on show, representing his family, at least he could avoid all the talk of business. Plus, the dinner really had been excellent. Now though, he was in the mood for dancing. The music was divine, it had changed to something jazzier, the sort of thing he just couldn’t resist. With a flourish, Isaac stepped up towards the edge of the dance floor and offered a hand to a familiar face, “Honour me?”
