Meredith rolled her eyes. “Are you fucking daft?” It made her more upset realizing he didn’t even see a problem with his behavior. “I barely get to see you, you keep secrets from me all the time. Then the few times we plan to see each other you either come late, leave early, or bail out all together.” She had been questioning breaking up with him since he obviously couldn’t be bothered to include her in his life. She understood being busy but she was also being made to feel like she wasn’t a priority in his life. She didn’t need to be number one but she wanted to be counted.

Meredith has meant to be home by now but she had needed to run errands that just couldn’t wait. Now she was just trying to make her way through the crowd that she didn’t want to be in. She worried about people seeing her and rumors spreading about her family when they weren’t exactly the most open about their veela status in the current climate. That was when she spotted Ares and she could feel a slow anger burning in her stomach. He had ditched her various times last minute without a decent explanation. She had been accepting at first but it was getting ridiculous with how often it was but she hadn’t even had a chance to talk to him about it before he would bail. “Ares!” She calles out. She wasn’t going to let him get away this time. She jogged through the crowd of people and grabbed onto his arm. “We need to talk.”
Ares stopped to lean against the side of a shop, breathing in the first breath of fresh air in what felt like weeks. He was supposed to be meeting with one of his dad’s clients outside Gringotts in a half-hour but came early to just bask in noise outside the Ministry. The suffocating pressure in his head and burning in his chest disappeared. It was such a relief.
But as he leaned against the cool building, the burning started like pins and needles and he heard his name called over the noise of the protestors. “Meredith? What are you doing here?” Then she grabbed his arm and he hissed as the pins and needles immediately moved from his chest to where she grabbed him. “You’re mad at me?”

It’s not enough to make a black woman a female lead of your show. You then have to write for that character. You have to make sure there are hair and make-up artists who know how to do black hair and make-up. You have to have producers that understand the black experience in Hollywood. Every department, you have to have diversity. So that these actors and these storylines are protected.

Ares stepped out of the Leaky Cauldron and onto the busy street filled with veela. The heat in his chest and pressure in his head instantly dissolved to the soothing numb feeling that always happened around someone like him and he almost forgot why he’d been avoiding the magic side of London.

Isaac had never really been without anything, his parents were not the most emotionally open of people but they weren’t absent either, plus he had close connections with his grandparents who were always eager to hang off his every word. He was privileged with a lot of things and had always been aware of it, giving back was important to him, while he cared very little for individuals it could be said he cared a fair amount for humanity in general. “Money isn’t really an issue but I’ll have to see.” His finances were not exactly free, he had an allowance that he could use for himself but if he needed more his parents expected him to work for it, a fair enough rule except he wasn’t really interested in carrying on the legacy… at least not in their way. “I can definitely do the clothes though and Lego and I’ll work on the dolls.” His parents would give him money if it was beneficial to them, as well as showing they were a charitable family (it never hurt to boost their reputation) there was one thing even dolls needed- clothes. He could see a deal in there somewhere, he just didn’t have all the details yet.
Meredith’s family were plenty well off. Not crazy wealthy but they always had plenty and even enough to splurge occasionally. As much as Meredith wanted to give the orphanage all of the money and things they could ever need she knew that wasn’t practical. “It’s still a lot to ask for. Please don’t feel obligated.” It would be really great for the kids though. “Sounds perfect. I can pick them up whenever is best for you just text me. Hopefully this is going to be a really great Christmas. Thank you so much Isaac, from myself and on behalf of the kids.”
