i think the thing i love about Skizz in season ten the most is- so you know those jokes like "oh they should have one normal person competing in each sport at the olympic to show what a normal person can do"
skizz is the single normal person on this olympic server and the hermits are so concerned for him. like. nothing skizz is doing is That out of the ordinary for a regular builder hermit- but skizz isn't so the other hermits are extra aware of his limits.
from skizz's episode 3: grian: have you made this in creative at all Skizz: no i dont do stuff like that :D *worried grian silence*
Gem: it's a great idea! just dont burnout making giant things!
he's having such a great time with it but the hermits are so worried about him trying to keep up with them. i think its cute and it really shows just how aware the hermits are of how far from Normal this server is, which is hard for us, the viewers, to keep track of since we dont have non-hermits to compare the hermits against. and now we do and i love him so much

The thing about Paul is that he is legitimately kind of unhinged in his willingness to throw himself into physical danger and risk getting hurt or killed in a fight that matters to him.
The way he goes NYOOM the second he realizes that Duncan is about to fight a fuckton of Sardaukar. No shield no weapons no plan no hesitation, ready to take on the most fearsome soldiers in the known universe in his pajamas. And he would have if Duncan hadn't locked the door.
Fly through a sandstorm because it's the only escape route? Never done it before but sure. Crawl under a moving harvester the size of a building with chompy bits on the end? Worst plan ever, let's go. Bait the ornithopter gunship into shooting at him so his crush can blow it up? It was his goddamn idea. Hide quietly when the Harkonnen soldiers show up during the eclipse? Oh hell no, he is looking for a way to escalate that situation immediately. He just killed someone for the first time like yesterday and did not enjoy it. But as soon as the Harkonnens are there he is ready to throw down.
The absolute trapped raccoon energy of him just grabbing the knife blade when Feyd's trying to stab him the second time, because it's probably over but he's not gonna make it easy, and maybe that gives him the extra second he needs to pull his own knife out. That teeth-gritted look he gives Feyd when he is on his knees, beat to shit, two stab wounds, blood all over his face, and is still like bitch you THOUGHT you could out-crazy me.
Like many things about him, it's a double-edged blade. Because it's what wins him respect among the Fremen, that he's willing to go to the front lines and not afraid to take risks. It's the most potent expression of his fierce protective streak, that he'll jump into danger to defend those he loves. And it's also fucking terrifying. It just adds such a chaotic energy to all the other ways that he is scary, that he doesn't just command armies of fanatics and have the power to make the Emperor of the Known Universe bow at his feet, but that this blood-streaked feral little gremlin might show up personally at any moment and stab you in the neck.

Wwx: Has anyone seen my favorite top?
Long suffering Lan disciple: Hanguang-jun is in a meeting
Wwx: Okay thanks!

Obsessed with the way the passenger (2023) juxtaposes the incredibly serious with the comically absurd. And they exist simultaneously, never contradicting each other. I love how it manifests in the visual language of the movie, and is also at the core of the story! I think it's so important to the ethos of the movie that the genesis of Randy's life-altering trauma is sort of ridiculous. It being ridiculous does not change the emotional impact of it on Randy, and it's still treated with tenderness and gravity.
The sharpness of the juxtaposition feels sort of surreal or jarring at certain moments, but I think it's actually part of what makes the movie hit a real, emotional nerve. The thing that's been haunting you for years does not always seem so obvious out of context. Or sometimes the thing haunting you IS so obviously unspeakably bad that it's going to kill you, and the only way you can talk about it is to say something as trivial as, "I wanted to be a giraffe when I grew up."
A fuzzy yellow sweater and childhood sexual abuse. A lifetime of denying yourself agency or personhood, and a woman with a color-coordinated eyepatch for every outfit. A brutal workplace shooting and bedazzled stuffed animals.
Which speaking of, it's also why, in my opinion, the epilogue does work. It reverses the dynamic from serious with a side of comical to comical with a side of serious. Our focus is on the eraser game, the sillier part of Randy's traumatic story, while the lasting impact of violence lurks quietly in the background (Randy's still physically injured, he's still got the jacket). And then the last shot of the stuffed animals is the *chefs kiss* on top of the whole thing!

UNLIT CIGARETTE - You realise you don’t have your lighter on you, and you are sadly standing with an unlit cigarette.
SUGGESTION [Formidable: Failure] - This is so uncool of you. You’re being so uncool in front of Kim.
AUTHORITY [Legendary: Failure] - Demand the lieutenant lights your cigarette for you!
KIM KITSURAGI - The lieutenant leans towards you before you can even say anything, pressing the lit cigarette to your unlit one, breathing in deeply.
ELECTROCHEMISTRY [Easy: Success] - YEAH DISCO BABY FINALLY THIS IS WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT

Actually this is so true
dsmp characters' smash mains
c!Tommy: probably kirby or some shit but I saw this one video of cc!tommy playing Smash with Metaknight and he would literally only use NeutralB to attack and SideB to approach and that has such strong fucking c!tommy energy that I can't stop thinking about it
c!Tubbo: Minecraft Steve. I would fucking hate fighting against him he'd pull off like NIL uptilt-upair chains and kill me at 30 off a bad roll I'd fucking hate his stupid ass steve
c!Wilbur: He doesn't know what the hell he's doing he'd probably just be like "huh, Mario, I know that guy" and then write emo poetry after he falls off the stage three times and Tommy laughs at him for it
c!Dream: Joker (see this post)
c!Quackity: Loves King K. Rool and is actually pretty good but he never plays him because he's a tier whore and is trying desperately to convince people that his aegis has sauce (it doesn't he knows it doesn't he just wanted to play a top tier)
c!Foolish: Always picks Donkey Kong when messing around but if he gets pissed off he switches to this pocket fox he has and literally just wipes the floor with fucking anyone without even blinking it's fucking scary man
c!Purpled: Aeigis (he's also a tier whore but unlike quackity he's actually good at them) (he's also a controller smasher when he loses)
c!Ranboo: Jigglypuff cuz he thought she was cute, but he also has no idea what he's fucking doing (i'd fucking get his ass so hard with a tipper marth fsmash and he'd die at fucking 25% and then go and monologue sadly about it and it would be the best day of my life)

If you were to go up and say to a crowded room: "Committing acts of kindness for the simple sake of spreading more good in the world is great, actually" more than likely everyone would agree with you (unless someone in that crowd was a straight up asshole).
But for some reason, when the SW fandom hears about the rules of the Jedi Order a good portion just immediately jumps to the ridiculous conclusion that the Jedi were somehow "oppressive" and "controlling." When in reality, the Jedi Order was made up of canonically the most inclusive and kind people in the entire galaxy.
Do I really need to point out again that the Jedi were the first people (and in most cases the only people) to recognize the clones not just as living beings, but as individuals too? How about the fact that the most common and sure fire method the Inquisitors use to draw out Jedi survivors is by endangering the lives of others because they know it goes against everything a Jedi stands for to just not do something? Or what about the fact that the "no attachments" rule is actually a health way to view relationships? As in, it doesn't actually say you can't form friendships or find love, but that you simply shouldn't be possessive of your loved ones. Are we actually going to pretend like that's a bad thing????
But to the people who, for whatever reason, need the Jedi to be the "real bad guys," acts of selfless compassion and kindness suddenly no longer seem like an ideal worth living up to.
Suddenly, being kind simply for the sake of being kind is "manipulation." And being able to let a loved one go, especially when it's their decision to do so, is suddenly a form of "selfish abandonment" or a "sign" that that person never truly "cared" in the first place.
It's very concerning to me that a good portion of the SW fandom seems to enjoy running in these endless bad faith circles where the Jedi are portrayed as the "true evil" when literally the true enemy of every SW movie/show is straight up fascism.
The reality is, Anakin had multiple opportunities to make the morally right choice. He chose the most selfish one. Every. Single. Time.
Anakin literally had everyone in his corner. Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Rex, Padme, and the entire Jedi Council (despite what the SW fandom would like you to believe) loved Anakin and wanted the best for him. At any point, he could have been honest with them and they would have done what they could to support him.
But instead Anakin chose to suppress his emotions, chose to lie repeatedly to his loved ones, chose to hide the atrocities he had committed, and then chose to betray every single one of them. All for his own horribly selfish and fucked up reasons.
Guys, he forced his own men--who were literally being mind controlled--to kill children. He killed his own wife, nearly killed their children, tried to kill his brother/father figure, later tortured said brother/father figure, played a key role in committing a galaxy wide mass genocide of his own family (and, yes, he did refer to the Jedi as his family multiple times), knew full well his Padawan/little sister could be killed in the Jedi Purge and did nothing to warn her, tortured young Force sensitives into becoming the Inquisitors whose mission was to hunt down and kill any survivors, aided in subjugating the galaxy for two decades, tortured his own daughter multiple times, maimed his son, and nearly tried to kill said son again.
How were any of his actions possibly in line with a Jedi rule or ideal, hmm???
It's interesting how Anakin broke every rule the jedi had and yet people still say those rules are why he fell.

It’s never overstated to me when people are like “work out bc it makes you feel better” bc it literally does. I think what I used to get hung up on is making the perfect schedule / wanting to know what I was doing right away. But it’s also okay to flounder at first and experiment w things and figure out what works for you and your body. The important thing is you’re starting out bc your body really will thank you for it later down the line. You cannot keep pushing it off it will add up
