If I turned Oberon into an Aether it would simultaneously turn Shale (his adopted dad) into that Looney Tunes dog with the tiny kitten I think. It would break him with the adorableness and his Grumpy Facade would slip as he fought the urge to cuddle his little bug son

"Forever in Space"
On January 8, 2024 an American moon lander Peregrine was launched into space, it was supposed to reach the moon’s surface. Besides scientific equipment on board Peregrine was biomatter (DNA and human remains) of 70 people, among them were those of the first “Star Trek” series’ actors. It was the creator of “Star Trek” Gene Roddenbury, along with his wife Majel Barrett who played nurse Chapel, as well as actors Nichelle Nichols, James Doohan and DeForest Kelley, who played Lt Uhura, Chief Engineer Scott and Dr McCoy respectively. Even though the mission wasn’t successful and the lander didn’t reach the moon, one could say that the actors and the creator of the series stayed in space forever.
With my great love❤️

Peregrine launch sees US on way to the Moon after five decades
By David Szondy January 07, 2024
The first US Moon landing mission in 52 years is on its way after Astrobotic’s Peregrine Mission One (PM1) lifted off this morning from Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida atop a ULA Vulcan rocket at 2:18 am EST.
Under cloudy skies, the launch of PM1 took place without major delays or incidents. At one minute 16 seconds into the flight, the Vulcan/Centaur launcher reached maximum dynamic pressure. Reaching the one-minute-50-second mark, the solid rocket boosters separated from the Vulcan core stage. At the four-minute-59 second mark, the two first stage liquid fuel engines shut down, with stage separation following six seconds later.
The second stage then ignited and burned for two additional engine burns. After the Centaur stage shut down, the Peregrine spacecraft separated at 50 minutes into the flight.
The Centaur stage then fired again, sending it into a heliocentric orbit where it deployed the Celestis Memorial Spaceflight’s "Enterprise Flight" payload, which carries the cremated remains or DNA of a number of celebrities, including Gene and Majel Roddenberry, Nichelle Nichols, DeForest Kelley, and James Doohan. Peregrine also has the remains or DNA of 66 other individuals as part of the Celestis "Tranquility Flight" to the lunar surface.
As the Peregrine lander's systems powered up, contact was established with Astrobotic’s Mission Control Center, which will oversee operations from now on as Peregrine embarks on its 17-to-19-day cruise phase to lunar orbit during which it will orbit the Earth once before inserting into a lunar transfer orbit.
On reaching lunar orbit, Peregrine will carry out a series of orbital maneuvers to bring it closer to the lunar surface for up to 39 days until it gets the green light to land sometime in February 2024 at Sinus Viscositatis next to the Gruithuisen Domes on the northeast border of Oceanus Procellarum. This is an area of particular interest to geologists and it is hoped that the domes, which were formed out of granite-like substances, may shed light on the presence of water under the lunar surface or trapped in minerals.
Also onboard Peregrine are 20 payloads. Five of these are NASA experiments sent as part of the Artemis program and 15 more from international organizations. One of these is the Iris Lunar Rover built by Carnegie Mellon University. This means the PM1 is not only the first US lunar landing mission in over half a century and the first using a privately owned and operated spacecraft, it is also the first American mission to carry a lunar robotic rover.
The video below recaps the launch of PM1.

judging by the "fixes" they've applied to fern and i'm fairly sure also to a few other genes, they likely intend to flatten and generic-ify EVERY gene that does anything interesting with especially the top feathers portion of the wings. :/
#flight rising#the ridiculously strict standardization guidelines they seem to put every gene through recently are actively detrimental to looking good#i don't know why they can't seem to get the idea that different body shapes showing the same gene a little differently is a GOOD thing#rather than every single gene appearing to be the exact same flat pasted on texture. undel's book had a whole thing on that how'dthey forge#we like it when each dragon's shape does something a little unique with gene expression! it makes it worth actually having different breeds#i think whatever tone-deaf standardization guidelines they're following are likely also actively detrimental to ancient breed design creati#and might even be part of the reason why we haven't gotten any dragons with stuff like turtle shells for the secondary gene yet#because under the current personality-sucking apparent standardization guidelines they would not be allowed to try to adapt any modern gene#to a shell-backed dragon shape#because tweaking them to work on that shape and actually look good would be considered by their standards changing them too much#even though the difference on a majority of genes wouldn't be any greater than the difference between some genes on skydancer vs other wing#under the standardization rules they seem to follow they may literally not be allowed to design even any ancient dragons w/ nonwing seconda#much less with any truly mold-breaking shapes or concepts of wings. they seem to struggle just with figuring out how to apply it to feather#off the top of my had some wing-“wing”-and secondary gene area ideas that would be absolutely possible but i'm fairly sure they'd never do-#“feathers” are actually smaller membranous wings like a fractal. mane. elaborate peacock tail instead of wings. body fins. head frill. bell#throat fan. head crest. overlapping hard scalelike spines flattened into something like a spinosaurus crest. sailfin 2!. inorganic wings.#all of these things are entirely feasible and i have thought on how to adapt genes to them extensively but they would likely never do it#because peregrine-for example-would look perfectly fine-better even- applied to the trailing edges of overlapping armadillo plates#except fr's standardization rules seem to be so ridiculously strict that they would say it can only be on the trailing edge of a wing shape#they just seem to want every gene to be the exact same pasted on flat texture on everything even when it makes no sense on the dragon shape#and even when following that design principle actively looks worse. which it mostly does. it demands they suck the 3d out of everything.#so we end up with a game where every dragon looks like someone put a cutout of a texture on it and adapting it to the 3d shape is a “bug”#give us MORE breeds with anatomical features that cause small but consistent deviations in the depiction of genes!#not less!#it's the tundra butterfly dark manes all over again#we LIKE slight variety that makes sense on the dragon's unique shape! unique forms demand unique adaptations! not flattening!#undel wrote an entire section of an artbook about how patterns should be adapted to your subject's anatomy and shape how did they all forge#is this one of those corporate “to preserve our brand identity” things? is it a loud minority/“listening to the wrong feedback” thing?#it's gotten to the point that there's basically no point even scrying most breeds until at least a year after they come out#because inevitably they're going to abruptly “fix” every single gene that looks interesting and good

you know, in theory, peregrine should be an easy gene to draw. and yet every single god damn time I struggle with it SO much.

I love your Hazbin Hotel HybridMemo!AU. 🥰 By the way, after seeing the latest comic of your HybridMemo!AU, is Vaggie going to be okay? Because I really hope that Vaggie survives! She and Charlie deserve the best!
Also, I have a general question regarding your HybridMemo!AU, what kind of animal-hybrid-creature is Vaggie? (she looks like she’s some kind of bird)
thank you and yeah they deserve happyness<3
some hybrids can change some of their traits (gene) the strongest hybrid (Dominant) can alter (mutated) between 2 or 3 other traits of other animals (more for some hybrids *Cough* Lucifer and Michael *Cough* *cough*)
Vaggie's case is special, she is not a dominant, she is a peregrine falcon hybrid mutated into a half butterfly due to blood loss and her wings being torn off
she's stuck like that

Note
falcon's pattern not being on the belly is the most criminal thing about it. that's like the most distinctive peregrine falcon trait how are you going to base a gene off of them and not include it!!! they fumbled the face markings too but at least they're kind of similar. peregrine is better. falcon should have peregrine's pattern all over the belly and the current solid belly color on the rest of the dragon
