The argument between Medea and Ashina continued in the background as Chaya steadied the video monitor, Peregrine trying to get them both to quiet down.

“Do you know any good stuff I could get for my dad?” she asked, the audio a bit tinny; the computer still worked even with how old it was, but that didn’t mean it didn’t have problems. “Ruthie and Oscar are still with him and Ambrose, and I want to surprise them all with good gifts.”

Despite herself, Chaya’s tone soured a bit at the mention of her stepfather Ambrose; he was a good man, of course, but nothing could replace her mother.

”Grandfather, grandfather!”

Chaya shoved the others out of the screen’s view, trying to hold the monitor steady. Sometimes, she swore she was the only one who actually knew how to run this thing.

“Grandfather, do you know if the other Primarchs will be back for the Winter Festival?”

“I know *my* mother will be back,” Medea chimed in. “And Phoebus and Circe, too!”

“Nobody cares about your stupid siblings,” Ashina grumbled. “You see them all the time, Mimi, and we wanna see *our* families!”

(OOC: @ask-the-demi-primarchs is my blog! I’m a bit of a novice with this askblog stuff, but the starter post there has a bit of context, especially since the blog starts as an explicitly online thing in-character.)

" My beloved grandchildren." The ancient cooed.

"Your fathers might not be able to return for the Winter Festival. They are occupied with very important work. One day, your fathers and I shall bring about an age of great prosperity, one that will put the well-wishes of the Winter Festival to shame, one in which all Mankind shall be united once again, and the stars themselves shall be our gift.

Starter Post [First Era]

“Don’t touch that, you stupid idiot!”

Chaya smacked Peregrine’s hand away, ignoring his shout of protest as she spun the dials and smacked the buttons on the old device. Her uncle Calistus had brought it back for her on his recent visit to the palace, and he called it a com-pu-ter — it was ancient, he said, something her mother had once used when she’d been the Lady Commander of the Kane dynasty’s fleet instead of him. Even he didn’t know everything it could do.

She ignored the other kids pressing up against her as the screen finally blinked on, but she was unable to hold back a little laugh at Medea’s whoop. Chaya flipped through the leatherbound journal her uncle had given her until she finally found the password, quickly punching it in before anyone else could touch the computer. Once the screen brought up the old holo-net site, some sort of thing that was apparently called a blog. Chaya’s mom had ran one of these when she was alive, but that wasn’t what she was looking for.

After a bit of arguing, the kids finally agreed on a name for the blog (even though Amarok pouted the whole time after they refused to name it something wolfy). Chaya booted up the new blog, drumming her fingers on the old desk as she waited.
