PERCEVAL THE UNHAPPY, THE MISERABLE, THE UNFORTUNATE, THE FISHER KING!

ALRIGHT alright. so previously I did an illustration that explained the premise of all this, that it's inspired by the narrative choices that Bresson made in his film Lancelot du Lac etc

to dive in more into it (because this is something like derivative fiction. I'm putting concepts into a blender and seeing what comes out of it): the setting is haunted by the previously existing narratives that started cannibalizing each other until it regurgitates itself into the more well known narrative beats, and something else about the invasive rot of christianity and empire mythmaking into settings. it's an intertextual haunting, if you will! and this scene takes place during the grail quest narrative, but the temptation of Perceval plays out differently.

in both Chretien (and Wolfram's) Perceval narratives, what 'wakes' Perceval up (in more ways than one. desire and self actualization in one go!) is seeing knights, something his mother tried hard to keep him from. so instead of the temptation of lust & etc in the Morte narrative taking the form of a lady, it takes the form of a knight. the temptation to renounce one's faith to serve something else remains.

so Perceval still stabs himself, but instead of continuing on the grail quest in the shadow of Galahad, he becomes the narrative's Fisher King because his earlier state of being as a the grail quest hero is creeping back into his marrow. it was waiting for an opening, and stabbing yourself in the thigh is one hell of a parallel!!!

that wound isn't going to heal buddy, and the state of the setting will now be reflected on your body. sure hope that Arthur hasn't like. corrupted the justice of the land or anything. that sure would suck for your overall health.

all the red in this sequence is because in de Troyes' Perceval, Perceval takes the armor of the Red Knight and becomes known as the Knight in Red.

WARNINGS: NOT REALISTIC AT ALL!! if you are looking for a realistic revenge sort of plot, it is not here, I tried as best as I can to search up what the whole electronic system does and it's relation to the DRS, BUT I AM BY NO MEANS AN EXPERT NOR HAVE ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE, SO EXCUSE THE POOR RESEARCH. Alright have three! Favourite hot drink? Any places you’d like to visit (outside of this current trip) and what is the most recent book (or fanfic 😆) you have read and recommend?

Fave hot drink: when I want something sweet hot choccy. This is a special treat tho my like fave on the regular is either chai latte or earl grey tea :3

Places I’d like to visit oh man!! I’ve always wanted to go to the pacific north west/Vancouver and live out my twilight dreams (sorry I’m actually a 16 year old girl) also recently I’ve wanted to go to Europe for… obvious reasons. I mean, I’ve always loved history so it’s unsurprising that I have interests in exploring places of historical significance. I would like to visit Normandy and see the US cemetery there. Also might sound odd but I do want to visit a concentration camp at some point. I’ve been to the holocaust museum in DC and as an archaeologist/historian I do feel that it’s important to remember how we got where we are today and to pay respects.

Most recent book I’ve read and finished is Band of Brothers which I of course recommend. I’ve also been working through War and Peace again. Since I’ve been traveling I haven’t picked up many books… but fanfiction… I’ve slowly been working through Scenes from a Decade of Mutually Assured Destruction and I LOVE it so much. Literally the webgott ever. Après la guerre is prob my fave baberoe series I’ve ever read, ESPECIALLY the second fic in the series. I really like this whole series but Seal Every Dream with a Prayer is so good. Older brother Dick and suspicious younger sister Ann… oh my heart.

ynferrari: I've had the rare privilege of witnessing the beautiful madness of motorsport right in front of my eyes. I grew up running around on track, moving car sketches from the dinner table, holding the car parts by my fingerprints. A plethora of memories that, sure I adored, but for the longest time was unable to acknowledge the significance of.

It may sound silly but it wasn't until I was a teenager that I began to realize not everyone got to be so close to their favorite sport. When I turned fifteen I got into the habit of walking around the grandstands before the race started and talking with other girls my age. These conversations taught me a lot. At nearly every race, I would hear a variation of "It's my dream to drive an F1 car." After a chorus of "Mine too!" there would be an awkward realization that dream was nearly impossible to accomplish. Women, weren't widely accepted in motorsport. Being a female fan was difficult enough already. Imagine trying to be a driver?

Then, I did start to imagine. Young girls from all around the world dying to experience the adrenaline. Just once. To feel the champagne coat them. Just once. Or even to be able to sit in an F1 car. Just once. A small moment that could change their lives forever.

When Susie reached out to me and shared her aspirations for creating an all-female racing series, I knew it would restore hope in the dreams of young girls all over the world. When she offered me an opportunity to help make this a reality I never considered saying anything but yes. I'm overjoyed to join Prema Racing, F1 Academy and Susie on this journey. I only dream of witnessing other women experience what I have so many times, running on track, peeking at the sketches and touching the car so gently because you're afraid of breaking it. And even more, I hope they cross the finish line with an indescribable feeling pulsing through their bodies. I hope they all hear their anthem on the top step. We can make this happen. Thank you to everyone on this project, thank you Susie, thank you @/f1 and THANK YOU FAMIGLIA FERRARI! (Ferrari family)

Charles possessive and jealous, SMUT 🔥

The sound of your laughter streams through the Ferrari garage as Charles returns from FP1. It’d been a good session for him, finally proving his capabilities at driving the nightmare that was the SF-23. All he wanted was for you to greet him with a hug, maybe a kiss on the cheek and a soft 'well done!' But you were nowhere to be found.

Charles stalks through the garage, eyebrows furrowed, following the melody of your giggles. His eyes narrow as he sees you, crouched next to a frustrated Carlos, hand perched over his arm. The logical part of Charles' brain knows you're just being the angel that you are, comforting Carlos after his horror crash out of FP1. But the jealous part of him is screaming, zeroing in on your hand wrapped around Carlos' wrist, a hand that belongs to him. He exhales a sharp breath through his nose before joining the pair of you.

Carlos is first to look up, "Hey man, you looked fast out there. Sorry I ended up cutting the session so short." He apologises, looking down at the ground. "No worries mate, hope they get the car fixed for you." Charles replies, patting Carlos on the back. "Mon cherie, can I borrow you?" Charles asks, extending his hand to you. You raise an eyebrow at him in confusion before slotting your hand in his. He pulls you up from your crouching position before practically dragging you into his drivers' room.

"What's u-" You start to ask, unable to finish your sentence as Charles slams the door before pushing you up against it. He stares at you with thunderous eyes, "My own teammate? Really? You had to touch my own teammate?" He asks, scoffing under his breath.
