i adore how protective nine is of rose but i also think what is regarded a lot of the time as ten not caring about or valuing rose in the same way is him having more faith in her. it’s kind of like when people complain about rose not challenging ten the way she did nine when they’re just much more on the same page in s2 because they know each other better, so she doesn’t really need to.

in theory, ten could have yelled at rose in the idiot’s lantern for not waiting for him when she confronted magpie. but he doesn’t, he loses his mind trying to save her (VERY nine) and also acknowledges that her observation was spot on. the whole “domestic approach” line gets attention but i have never really interpreted his intention as being to insult her; in some ways, i feel her reaction is a holdover from nine, who did put down the idea of domesticity (and also actively manipulated her into leaving her mum in world war 3 which never really gets mentioned).

and of course, rise of the cybermen is a parallel to father’s day. the doctor starts out harshly talking to her the way he did when he was nine, forbidding her to see her father, but then he gives in when she just looks at him. which is exactly what he does that in father’s day too of course.

like, why do you think she refuses to be sent away in doomsday, another direct parallel to parting of the ways? she’s saying she’s not a kid anymore, that she already made her way back to him once before. she can’t be protected from the hard choices anymore and she won’t be, because she understands everything that it means to be the doctor’s companion. you never see it on-screen but clearly sometime between tooth & claw and doomsday she asks about what happened before he regenerated; she has to learn that she is the bad wolf, especially when she is to continue her journey of turning into nine in s4 and making hard choices. ten wouldn’t have known that, but it’s a mark of the respect and faith (he believes! in her!) that he stops protecting her from the truth.

i mean i think i am having literal delusions. specifically about people secretly hating me and being out to get me. i also keep thinking that someone or something is implanting thoughts into my brain and also ive had thoughts that aliens are contacting me (by implanting the thoughts into my brain), that nobody understands me like in a literal sense, that there are eyes watching me in certain areas, that people can read my thoughts, that my meds are hurting me, that something or someone is coming for me, lots of stuff like that.

and i know most people would consider my angel stuff delusions and i say they are when im double book keeping but they are NOT delusions to me. i dont consider them delusions i just pretend that i do. but tbh calling my angel thoughts delusions actually bothers me quite a bit. they’re very much real and people just dont get it so they think its delusions

right now the world and my mind are extremely scary and painful places for me. especially my mind tbh. but it’s making me act really unkindly to people i really care about and im not sure what to do about it. all i know is that i absolutely cannot keep behaving and feeling this way for much longer it’s just not ok for me ofc but not my loved ones either

i think like. so much would be solved if we normalized the fact that some people do experience delusions and hallucinations. like yes, its something that those people need help with/need more accommodations for, but we could use being more understanding of people with psychotic symptoms in general.

like, i can tell you that at least one person raving about conspiracy theories is someone who experiences delusions, and if we understood that, we wouldn't have such a hard time getting them back to a more grounded perspective.

i am someone who experiences delusions and I do get incredibly triggered by all the unreality bullshit, the simulation theories, all that unreal bullshit, and it is actively negatively impacting people like me.

we could really use a better understanding of those with these symptoms, because acting like having hallucinations/delusions makes you a killer is a take that makes zero sense. Like, genuinely, you have no idea what you're talking about if that's where you immediately go. I can point out a bunch of shit discussing the darkness of humanity and that logic applies to anyone, regardless of mental illness. Delusions and hallucinations don't mean you'll act on anything, it just means that your brain is creating false images or thoughts, and that can get really fucking confusing.

We could use a little more empathy or compassion towards those with these symptoms, because obviously this shit isn't going away for us, just like other disabled people dealing with their disabilities. We are not idiots or monsters, our brain just gives us random false shit sometimes and it really fucking sucks. Be more understanding or I'll telepathically insert false shit into your brain one day, y'all should see the nightmare that some of us have to deal with.

i wish people understood that when i (and many others) call people fakers on syscringe i don't mean that they're deliberately faking. i mean that in some way their symptoms indicate factitious DID, something that can be done completely by accident.

people can be FULLY convinced they have a disorder, often with the help of other people in the same situation encouraging them because they can relate to eachother. this is why self-diagnosing in a largely self-diagnosed community is so damaging. if you take medical research completely as subjective, anything could be DID. i believe everyone claiming to have DID genuinely THINKS they have it.

doctors are more of an ally than you'd think. even if they won't diagnose you, they WILL help you manage your symptoms and heal. that's something you SHOULD want. if you can't get diagnosed with DID, get diagnosed with PTSD. and for the love of god, please actually try to accept healing.

One was a sweet person enthusiastically telling me how much in my DBZ fic they enjoyed watching Vegeta freak out and make everything worse, his hot mess was “beautiful”.

The other was a Maedhros simp telling me on the fifth chapter of North to South that I “white-washed” Mae by not having him be a 10,000 iq giga brain running circles around the smartest people in Westeros. It included the phrase “do better author”.

So after all hell breaks loose and they’ve been trying to find a solution to the problem for a while, Slash and Delusion are probably going to end up meeting up alone once in a while. Might not be intentional. Likely won’t admit to it when it is intentional.

Pretty much the only place Delusion and Slash could hang out safely *and* have Delusion’s aura suppressed so he can just chill and not worry about hurting himself by having negative emotions is probably going to be Delusion’s apartment.

Unless they, for some reason, go through the trouble of setting up a little secret place with a magic suppression field. But that’s so much troubleee

So slash just breaks into his apartment. Because that’s so much safer (sarcasm). God only knows how she managed it. Delusion doesn’t bother asking, he doesn’t care anymore.

It’s so weird for her to see him emoting like a normal person. She never saw this before she started breaking in, and while she’s not surprised he has the suppressor thing in his apartment, it’s so bizarre that it almost feels like danger

Them having an almost soft moment, because feelings are getting to be so much. Delusion, who by now has completely given in to the feelings, asking if she’ll stay the night. He just wants her there. It doesn’t have to be anything else. She can leave whenever. She could leave at the crack of dawn if she wants.

Slash naturally wants to say no. It doesn’t feel right. She’s always been with Byte and Pluto and they’re going to be so worried when she doesn’t come home.

Honestly their goals are pretty much exactly the same, it’s just the method of getting there that’s the problem.

The goal is for them to all just be chill, Slash can have her besties and an inadvisable boyfriend, Delusion will get to have his childhood bestie back and an inadvisable girlfriend, and also Delusion will clear them of charges from JR and help them hide from the rest of law enforcement so they can do whatever they want.

If they were all chill there’s the slight possibility that the horror squad would help him take targets out, but they’re a bunch of petty little shits so it’ll take quite a while before they even seriously think about it.
