Does anyone else feel like that they can't connect with people despite having the social skills and that maybe just maybe... It’s not the social skills that are the problem but rather, most people are just a little bit shit?

It's like, I can hold conversations, but maintain friendships? Super difficult.

And I also ruin it in first impressions with most people.

I used to care so much about being liked but it's becoming less so. But yeah, I do wonder if actually I really haven't done a lot wrong and while I do have friends, they're miles away and I cannot see them on a regular basis.

So the gist of this longish rant/discussion to myself is: people are a bit shit and I shouldn't change for them despite how hard it is to have friends and keep up with them.

once again, begging, BEGGING everyone in the cr fandom to stop making posts critiquing how the fandom is being weird about one cast member by saying "if it was x, the fandom would love this/hate this even more." it turns out the cr fandom contains Multitudes of weird ass people and just because you haven't seen those reactions (or, even funnier if you are making claims about what the fandom does/does not do to other cast members, were not in the fandom during c1/c2) does not mean they do not exist. like there are certainly different social dynamics and injustices at play in some of the reactions the audience has to cast members, but almost always it is less a case of misogyny/queerphobia and more a case of people forgetting that storytelling is about understanding choices you would not yourself make and watching characters develop through conflict/struggle.

like, you can have the most salient point to make in the world about how shitty the reaction of the fandom to a certain cast member's (not their character, but the cast member as a person) choices but you immediately undo that if you make a claim like "if liam did this, the fandom would love it." perhaps the part of the fandom you are in, but certainly not the fandom that wanted to persecute him for having vax choose keyelth over gilmore, certainly not the fandom that consistently manufactured actual dislike between him and marisha throughout campaign 2 because of character choices.

likewise you might be absolutely right in criticizing the choices of the character that one of the cast members is playing, but if then in turn you say, "if this was a female cast member, everyone would hate it." my brother in christ, You are already the person who hates that character choice and it Wasn't a female cast member, so what is the truth? unless you have the statistics on the opinions every person who engages with the cr fandom has, truly just. you can make your point without appealing to a sense of misogyny/queerphobia/favouritism or whatever that you have no actual grounds for believing exists except for the fact that misogyny in general exists.

this isn't to say that things like misogyny don't influence how people react to things, all of our opinions are mediated through the social and material conditions in which we live. obviously, misogyny exists. however, truly, truly, the bigger problem in the cr fandom (at least on twitter/tumblr, idk about reddit and that is a choice I've intentionally made) is the consistent expectation that the cast adheres to what so many fans call 'comfort media' and a requirement that one's own opinions be validated by what the majority of the fandom believes (which aside from the obvious, is also an absurd expectation because trying to gauge the 'majority' of the cr fandom would be truly so much data). the cast have made it explicit many times that they value things like high stakes and big risks in their storytelling, and sometimes that means stupid character choices, character deaths, or interparty conflict. so much of the fandom has decided to engage with cr regardless of this and then gets upset when the liveplay of a ttrpg built around conflict contains conflict. similarly, people who claim to enjoy this conflict then get pissed off when other people in the fandom disagree with them and give away the ghost that what they want is validation by arguing that it is somehow problematic for the other side to have their opinions. it is much easier to blame any lack of satisfaction on how, actually, your section of the fandom has the right opinion and, actually, if everyone else wasn't queerphobic/misogynistic then they would see the proverbial light.

anyway, this is just me ranting out of both literal and metaphorical exhaustion with the "persuasive" (heavy quotes) tactics that some people in this fandom use. please look up some tips on like, how to avoid logical fallacies or formal critical thinking or just like. state your opinions and say you dislike the other options without thinking you need to provide some (often blatantly and horribly incorrect) rationale for how you're right. accept the pretentious bastard within yourself and stop seeking validation for your opinions in the fandom around you, your opinions are already correct if you assume them to be.

Am I the only one who low-key loved that they showed:

1. Lucy’s anxiety induced blabber and Tim’s 😳 in the background - because I feel like while ppl were being like “oh that rant was so annoying and over the top” but in reality that rant is literally so accurate as a stream of thought of anxiety and overthinking , not only that I think the fact that this rant was included is so telling of their relationship because as someone with anxiety I can confirm that those types of thoughts STAY inside thoughts unless we are super comfortable with the person because WE ARE AWARE HOW UNHINGED AND IRRATIONAL WE SOUND

2. The chenford fight- when you have two mentally ill people in a relationship spoiler alert they will sometimes say shit they don’t mean and will sometimes screw up AND THATS OKAY AND REALISTIC like any mentally ill person will tell you that when they are spiralling, almost always they will unintentionally take it out on the person closest to them or who is supporting them the most and that’s not because they actually want to it’s more so that their brain subconsciously knows that that’s a safe target that they can be a bit of a screw up with them and they won’t stop loving them, this is literally the most common example of displacement (trust me I’m a psych student🤓,jk jk fr tho this is an actual thing)

Like when I heard initially that chenford would have issues this season I was so worried the writers would pull that old cliche of making stupid out of character drama that made no sense and felt inorganic but THIS this is so good to see how anxiety can affect a relationship and eventually how they get over that obstacle and it came out in a way that felt very realistic and in character

george lucas handed an overwritten mess in and then the fandom + otherwise involved creators in the extended universe and other supplemental media have spent the last decades ritualistically dissecting it and reworking it’s constituent parts into some of the most fascinating worldbuilding you can get. and the average person has no knowledge of this and just watched disney completely fumble it within an hour and a half of their first title crawl in The Force Awakens and proceed to completely fall apart within the next 3 hours . and that’s just what star wars is to them

there's a weird case of like. plot armor + narrative bias that I think most people don't realize when it comes to the way people talk about Essek vs. M9

the cast & fandom throw around the phrase "war criminal," which he IS, but not for the reasons they call him out for. Like it's the state-sponsored torture dungeon that makes him a war criminal, not the treason.

Essek is held responsible for the war for giving away the beacons, but M9 *also* stole a beacon and ran away with it for no real reason. Obviously, Essek understood the ramifications better than M9, but M9 knew this was an important item to the group of people that attacked Zadash, and they knew the Empire intended to keep it.

Sure, the drow soldier asked them to take it, but IMO, that's ultimately not why they did, and they never had any intention of returning it to the Dynasty. They took it because it looked cool and they wanted it, without considering the ramifications of an important item going missing after an attack like that. I don't think it would've ultimately stopped the war if they hadn't taken the beacon, but I'm fairly certain there were unnecessary skirmishes & loss of life as a result of the fact that it went missing. M9 is smart enough to understand that even if they don't fully see the big picture.

Essek gets a lot of criticism for having selfish motivations, but M9’s motivations were also primarily selfish. They never intended to give the beacon back, they only ended up doing it to save their own skin.

Obviously, their positions are different & there's a difference between the power both parties held & their understanding of the situation. To some extent, I think it's a bit of D&D plot armor; D&D parties often get a ton of leeway for doing ridiculous, nonsensical stuff simply because everyone understands the lack of IRL consequences is part of the appeal, and you never want to punish your players for interacting with the plot you placed in front of them. But at the same time, I do think there's a bit of narrative bias, because from the perspective of M9 we can handwave their actions with the beacon as "their intentions were neutral/good, they were in over their heads, they didn't understand what was going on" which all have a grain of truth.

I feel like M9 often gets a pass because they're seen as goofy, lovable, bumbling weirdos who stumbled into the middle of a political conflict. But they didn't stumble into the middle of the conflict, they put themselves in the middle of it by stealing the beacon, then actively chose to ignore any consequences of that decision. Like they could have put effort into understanding the political ramifications of what they'd done and then decided where to go from there, but instead just ignored it because that was easier/they didn't care about the larger political conflict. And as much as I love M9, imo, apathy isn't any more of an excuse for them than it is for Essek. Like M9 actively avoided the war & really didn't seem to care about it all that much until Matt literally forced them to care about it by attacking Veth's hometown.

like i said I don't think it's exactly equivalent or that Essek & M9 were in the same position. I think it's just interesting how M9's selfishness & unsavory actions get implicitly justified or ignored by the narrative/fandom, but other characters aren't given the same leeway.

This time last year, a neighbor asked if he could shovel our sidewalk for money, I agreed to it, and later found out that he'd stolen a package from our porch earlier that day.

Today, a neighbor (I didn't recognize him) asked if he could shovel our sidewalk for money and I agreed to it. You'll never guess what I later found out.

It was almost one year to the day, according to my line-a-day five-year diary.

In both cases, he did end up returning the packages after I called him out on it (last year with a passive-aggressive sign in our window and this year when he walked past looking for other sidewalks to shovel) but still.

Like. What the fuck.

So I'm writing this to remind myself. I'm not paying anybody to shovel our sidewalk ever again, especially because I kind of like shoveling.

It's Time To Investigate SevenArt.ai

sevenart.ai is a website that uses ai to generate images.

Except, that's not all it can do.

It can also overlay ai filters onto images to create the illusion that the algorithm created these images.

And its primary image source is Tumblr.

It scrapes through the site for recent images that are at least 10 days old and has some notes attached to it, as well as copying the tags to make the unsuspecting user think that the post was from a genuine user.

No image is safe. Art, photography, screenshots, you name it.

Initially I thought that these are bots that just repost images from their site as well as bastardizations of pictures across tumblr, until a user by the name of @nataliedecorsair discovered that these "bots" can also block users and restrict replies.

Not only that, but these bots do not procreate and multiply like most bots do. Or at least, they have.

The oldest ones have been created in March, started scraping in June/July, and later additions to the family have been created in July.

So, I have come to the conclusion that these accounts might be run by a combination of bot and human. Cyborg, if you will.

But it still doesn't answer my main question:

Who is running the whole operation?

The site itself gave us zero answers to work with.

No copyright, no link to the engine where the site is being used on, except for the sign in thingy (which I did.)

I gave the site a fake email and a shitty password.

Turns out it doesn't function like most sites that ask for an email and password.

Didn't check the burner email, the password isn't fully dotted and available for the whole world to see, and, and this is the important thing...

My browser didn't detect that this was an email and password thingy.

And there was no log off feature.

This could mean two things.

Either we have a site that doesn't have a functioning email and password database, or that we have a bunch of gullible people throwing their email and password in for people to potentially steal.

I can't confirm or deny these facts, because, again, the site has little to work with.

The code? Generic as all hell.

Tried searching for more information about this site, like the server it's on, or who owned the site, or something. ANYTHING.

Multiple sites pulled me in different directions. One site said it originates in Iceland. Others say its in California or Canada.

Luckily, the server it used was the same. Its powered by Cloudflare.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what to do with any of this information.

If you have any further information about this site, let me know.

Until there is a clear answer, we need to keep doing what we are doing.

Spread the word and report about these cretins.

If they want attention, then they are gonna get the worst attention.
