I'm really glad Sim File Share exists and we have a place where we can all safely download CC and host CC on! Truly a blessing 💜

There would be so many dead links and lost CC due to random hosters going pay only or removing download links if they are not clicked regularly.

SFS is so much more than just a place to download, it also keeps our files safe and accessible for people around the world. I think we should all be forgiving about a few hiccups every now and then (which basically every site has occasionally).

On the other topic...

I calculated how many people on average press the heart ❤️ button on my TS3 pattern collections and it's...

Yes, I hear some of you say, but what about when you have 100 individual files and creators do not offer a zipped version?

I dread that too, and that is why I always create zipped files. It does make life much easier. Only 4.28% appreciate it though. Let's change that, not just for me, but for the thousands of other creators who would love to see their heart-to-download-ratios improve!

Dear simmers, here is a tutorial on how to download stuff from Sim File Share. (Over 95% of you do it wrong, so please pay attention):

Notice the red button with a white outlined (read: empty) heart.

Next, you click on that red button!

If you did it correctly (you can try again if it doesn't work out the first time, btw!), the heart is now white inside, and the number goes up by one. It means you did well and it worked! Notice there is also a blue button to the left of that red one. Click on the blue button. Wait until it turns green:

Your goodies are downloading a second later. If you are skilled, it will only be a split second between the two button presses. Go ahead and practice clicking the red button FAST on some recent downloads. Congratulations, you did it! Now you are allowed to feel proud for being kind and doing the right thing. If SFS happens to be slow (though 99% of the time it is not), just click the heart button when you can, okay? So many creators appreciate this!

It’s an awesome site and a great FREE resource. I love it and am glad we have it. People act like there aren’t humans behind this that have NO reason to provide us with this AMAZING resource. You can’t sh-t on people and expect them to stay.

Anyway I believe most users love them and I don’t want the loud minority to ruin it for us all so please show #SimsFileshare love every now and then mkay.

what if i make my comic into a visual novel esque game instead.... i have this belief that it will actually take less time than a 400 page comic (or at least less drawing, but definitely more writing for me)... will that not be more fun and engaging!!

OH YES. I remember my first day of Society Lessons as a hearing person, where the everything was explained to me. Via Audiobook. FIRST they spoke and said, "you are standing on the ground." It was a life changing revelation, and the world began to spin.

But it did not stop.

THEN they said, "there are fingers on your hands." The sensation of flesh and bone crackling into existence is indescribable, but I did not yet know pain, until they told me, "that hurts." I began screaming immediately.

And yet... it continued.

They explained so much. Chairs. Tables. Walls. The sky. Frogs. Ionizing radiation. Breathing. I was told all of it, in one sitting, and only then did I understand. Only when my ears were bursting with normal hearing knowledges, did they begin... my final test.

A strange wall-chair-finger emerged from the sky-of-the-wall, stood on the ground several times, until it was in front of me. A second one came behind it, this one slimmer. The audiobook gave these things names;

Human. Father. Mother. Door. Walking. It was completely impossible to know what these things were until that very moment.

I watch a human dip a hook into water and produce a fish, and I recall my Society Lessons where they called that "fishing." I am decked in the face by a nefarious hooligan, and I have only the audiobook to thank when I know I have been "punched" by a "bad guy." It was only the magic of verbal-speaking-words-noise that made me understand that there are "other people" and that they "do stuff."

Sometimes, even, in "groups."

Before the Society Lessons Audiobook, I knew nothing. I was pure, innocent, uncorrupted by concepts such as "parents" and "door." I am grateful every day that there is no such concept as "being shown things" or "simple logical reasoning" or "looking."

Blessed be those amongst us who escape the horrors of the Society Lessons Audiobook. I pray that you never learn what anything is. Be free! Free as a bird, which also knows nothing and famously cannot learn. 🤗

DEAF/HOH FOLLOWERS I'm losing my mind do you want me to bump a 'Hearing Disabilities Herb Guide' to the top of my priorities? Something you can use to bludgeon whackadoodles like that. This is ridiculous

Obviously not a MEDICINE guide but like; common causes of hearing disability in clan cats. Accommodations for hearing loss vs congenital deafness. Actual difficulties of not having that sense Clan-by-Clan. Debunking of misconceptions like... not being able to learn APPARENTLY.

If you don't mind me asking what stitch are you using for it? I would love to try something like this in the future when I get better at crocheting myself and the stitch you used makes such nice looking pixels! Apologies if this was just stated somewhere previously ;w;

As for the stitch it's called corner to corner or c2c, it's basically just making little boxes so it's perfect for pixel art stuff :D

I'm not entirely convinced this is the *best* beginner tutorial for solving a rubik's cube, but it is really cool from a technical standpoint

Not only does it solve cubes with any number of layers, but it does so using only two (pretty simple) algorithms (plus the mirror of one of them)

I also love the attention to detail with how the algorithms are chosen; the first alg is usually R' D' R D in beginner tutorials, but they went with D' R' D R since they're using a variation on niklas to permute the corners and D' R' D R solves that case faster. And speaking of niklas, they're again using the inverse so that it makes solving the centers more familiar

Yesterday was so productive hobby wise for me. I learned a new knitting pattern (it’s super basic but i’ve never known how to do any patterns before in general) and I tried crocheting for the first time ever!!! I struggled a lot and it ended up really wonky looking but that’s okay. I’m still really happy about it!

i understand that people are busy. and that plans can change and get delayed. but why is it that so many people are incapable of just Telling me when they get delayed. i keep getting told 'oh ill be there this afternoon, or ill call you back in a couple hours' and then no one shows up and i hear nothing for days. and i reach out and im like. hey. you still willing to help? or should i ask someone else? and they insist oh yeah im gonna help something just came up and i still cant be there but let me call you back and give you a time, ill be there. and then no one calls and no one shows up. and my whole day i have to just sit here and wait cos i dont know when or if anyones gonna be here or not. literally just communicate with me! thats it! thats all i ask! please for the love of god
