Yesterday morning’s walk was scattered with beautiful light and then as I climbed the hill to go home I found myself in an area where swallows of two kinds were skimming low over the grass all around me as wood thrushes sang in the woods nearby. (Sadly I only caught one on video) This is an ordinary place but it has its moments.

The largest fair in our state is wrapping up tomorrow; nine days of: tens of thousands of people converging on a town of about 10,000, 1400 vendors including 900 of just food, livestock, tractors, crafts, carnies, concerts, and some fabulous opportunities for people watching.

Vox was born in 1909. He had a Mother, father and younger sister. When he was 12, his family perished in a house fire. He was the only survivor, and got a scar on his left eye from the fire. This gave him some survivor's guilt, trauma, and anxiety. He had to live with his aunt and uncle not too far away in a small town in rural Pennsylvania. After High school, he had his "I'm too big for this small town!" moment, and went to college and moved to California to work in television. He never returned to that small town.
