Apparently there’s a God of Poverty from the first Kid Icarus game and I’m obsessed. We NEED to bring this character back for the sequel and/or try our own Uprising-style takes on him. He’s probably based on the Greek Goddess of Poverty named Penia, which is fine to me because we could always use more female characters!
Calling her Penia for now, if Pit encounters her while opening mystery vases in a treasure room, she’ll whisk away everything he’s found! The manual describes her as having a ‘grudge’, apparently. How might anyone Uprising take on Penia be characterized? Well, there is this which I found while skimming Wikipedia;
Tumblr media
So what if Penia is a really obnoxious business major. What if she’s one of those annoying capitalist-libertarians who preaches about “If you give a man a fish” while ignoring that she’s depleting the fish supplies. She tells Pit that becoming poor is a good thing because it builds character actually and he can pull himself up by his bootstraps. Penia considers herself a “devil’s advocate” who represents the ugly truth nobody wants to acknowledge; In reality she’s just annoying.
She’s still a balding old ghost which is funny juxtaposition with how she’s using all this modern lingo and even bringing up cryptocurrency. Penia’s a scam artist in charge of casinos, she runs the credit card company that Pit can use to buy stuff, but watch out! Now every heart he finds is used to pay off his debt. Class disparity is a necessary function of society, Penia believes hierarchy is how it will always be. Her wealth comes from stealing from others in all her many ways, which is why Penia is the Goddess of Poverty; She creates the poor. She’s like an evil Hermes, and acts as a neutral party who may or may not profiteer from the wars of the gods.
There’s a lame pun about her name being Penny-a. I don’t know whether Pit or Penia are saying it and who’s laughing.

What is a “Universal Offering/Devotional Act?”
Feel free to request or suggest deities! This list will be done in order but you can ask for me to complete one that’s further down the list.
This list is subject to change. There are probably repeat deities (deities who go by multiple names, parts of groups like the Horae or Charities who are mostly grouped together, etc.) on this list. Some deities are not on here. Some names are spelt wrong or different.

im so obsessed with dicks i love them so much but i am cursed to apparently only be attractive to other trans dudes, specifically ones who dont want hormones or surgery which like. i have absolutely nothing against anyone ive dated i love my bf and all my exes are great, t4t ftw its just like. i wanna hold it while they pee!!!!! i want to knit it a little hat for the tip. i want to touch balls!!!!!! i want to lick balls!!!!!!!!!!!! penis havers please interact
I can tell you from personal experience that most penis-havers don’t want someone else to hold it while they pee. And they don’t want you putting little hats on it. It’s very sad I know, but rare is the person who is willing to be so, uh, willy-nilly with their Willy.
We could change this! The sexual expectations of people getting penetrated are getting to be freaking ridiculous with the choking and all sorts of things- we should change the social contract so that IF YOU ARE HAVING SEX WITH SOMEONE WITH A PENIA YOU SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DRESS THAT PENIS UP!!
They’ll let you do that stuff to their balls though, they’re fine with that

Here's a list with obscure deities from Greco-Roman Mythology to obssess about
Aceso: The goddess of the healing process and Asclepcius' daughter;
Achlys: The goddess of the eternal night, aka the Mist of Death;
Agon: The greek god of competition;
Alala: The goddess of the war cry, daughter of Polemos and one of Ares' attendants;
Alke: The goddess of battle-strenght and Eris' daughter;
Amechania: Apparently the ancient greeks did have a goddess of helplessness too.
Apate: A daughter of Nyx and the goddess of deceit;
Arete: She's more a concept than an actual deity. From what I found, her name means virtue, in the sense of being the best version of yourself or reaching tour highest potential. She was supposed to personify that;
Aristaeus: A minor god primarily known for rustic arts like beekeeping and cheesemaking. And Eurydice's assaulter;
Arke: Iris' sister who was thrown intk Tartarus after betraying the gods and becoming a messager for the titans;
Atë: Eris' daughter and the goddess of mischief, delusion, folly, and reckless impulsiveness that leads to ruin;
Bia: The goddess and personification of force;
Caerus: Very obscure guy and the god of opportunity;
Ceto: An early sea goddess and the mother of the Gorgons, the Graia, Echidna and the Hesperian Dragon;
Cybele: A Phrygian Mother Goddess, her cult being very popular in Anatolia once;
Dike: Goddess of mortal justice and fair judgment;
Dolos: God of trickery and guile, and a former apprentice to Prometheus;
Dysnomia: Daughter of Eris and goddess of lawlessness;
Eleos: A daughter of Nyx and the personification of pity, mercy, clemency, and compassion;
Endovelicus: Worshipped only by the romans, and apparently a deity who came from the Lisutanian Mythology. He was the god of healing and light.
Epione: The goddess of the soothing of pain and Asclepcius' wife;
Eucleia, Eupheme, Euthenia and Philophrosyne: Hephaestus and Aglaea's daughters;
Geras: Son of Nyx and the god of old age;
Homados: God of the noise of battle and all the blood-curdling screaming that implies;
Homonia: Goddess of concord, unanimity, and oneness of mind;
Hygieia: A daughter of Asclepcius and the personification of health, cleanliness, and sanitation;
Iaso: Daughter of Asclepius and the goddess of recuperation from illness;
Janus: Present only in the Roman Mythology, Janus was the god of doorways, gates, transitions, and beginnings and endings;
Kratos: Apparently he actually existed in Greek Mythology, but he was the god of strenght and power;
Limos: Daughter of Eris and the goddess of starvation;
Lyssa: Daughter of Nyx and the goddess of mad rage, frenzy and rabies in animals;
Mithras: Besides the fact that he was a roman god worshipped by a popular mystery cult there are few things known about him;
Momus: Son of Nyx and the god of satire, mockery, censure, writers, and poets;
Moros: Son of Nyx and the god of impending doom;
Oizys: Daughter of Nyx and the goddess of misery;
Pamacea: Daughter of Asclepcius and the goddess of universal remedy;
Peitho: Goddess of persuasion and seduction;
Penia: Goddess of poverty and need;
Phorcys: God of the mysterious dangers of the deep and Ceto's husband;
Plutus: God of wealth;
Polemos: Personification of war;
Ponos: God of hard labor and toil;
Porus: God of plenty and a son of Metis, making him the half-brother of Athena;
Praxidike: The goddess of judicial punishment and the exactor of vengeance;
Priapus: A minor fertility god, known for trying to rape Hestia once and his large equipment;
Ptocheia: Greek goddess of beggary;
Quirnius: An early roman god of Rome itself as a city state.
Seilenos: The god of drunkeness and crushing grapes under foot to make wine and the godfather of Dionysus;
Soteria and Soter: The goddess and god of safety and deliverance from harm;
Zelus: The personification of dedication, emulation, eager rivalry, envy, jealousy, and zeal. Had wings like his siblings (Nike, Kratos and Bia) and was an enforcer for Zeus that stood about his throne;

Okay, so for my own fanfictions, most of which take place post-TOA and therefore post-Percy "claim your children" Jackson and Jason "honor minor gods" Grace, I made myself a spreadsheet of all the cabins I believe could plausibly be at Camp Half-Blood, and ended up with a whopping 270, and there's probably more dieties whom I couldn't find any information on, and some dieties whom I don't believe would have a cabin (ex. Kronos) (if you think I should add someone comment) and decided to paste it here, since I don't feel comfortable sharing my original spreadsheet. I did add the water dieties, even though their kids could also plausibly go to the underwater camp, but I've decided to give them the option of what camp they want. I also didn't copy their domains, but I have the list from my research, so you can ask if you'd like, I'll be glad to explain! Most of my research was from Theoi Project - Greek Mythology, and Brittanica, and probably some others I've since forgotten, so if you know any good Greek Mythology resourses and books, please share!
Here's some symbols before we begin:
* - virgin goddess. I added them because Athena and Artemis already have cabins (and Athena kids by magical means)
" - Dieties whom have faded in the series. Their cabins are more memorials to them.
Additionally there are 2 dieties named Thalia, (1) Thalia refers to the muse, the goddess of comedies, and (2) Thalia refers to the goddess of festivities and banquet

So that's my list. I don't really have a rhyme or reason for why each number is each, but I did clump together gods with similar domains because that's where they were easiest to find in my research... I honestly think kids of minor gods are very underused in TOA fics, and even in PJO and HOO to an extent. Jillie, my nine year old daughter of Gelus with a contageous laugh? One of my fave OCs.
As for Roman gods and goddess, I'm not as knowledgable, but hopefully I'll make a spreadsheet for plausable godly parents, though unlike CHB it doesn't need to be organized as there's just Cohorts. I don't write Camp Jupiter fics all that often, but it'll be a good resource to have if I choose to.
