You still can’t convince me that the whole ‘Steve abandons everyone in the present to go back to Peggy’ thing was a well thought out/well developed ending for his character that made any sense for his post-catfa character arc (let alone all the time travel stuff) bc wdym none of the people who made the movie can figure out the logistics of it??

ngl i do kind of hate how much marvel/the mcu has pushed captain carter in terms of like, marketing? if that makes sense. peggy is like, a good character. like genuinely. the writing in season 1 of agent carter gives her depth after being interesting enough in captain america: the first avenger. the whole point of the show is that peggy can do all of things that steve can do and more. with no serum. and while it’s true that they both run toward the grenade in the first avenger, i think the sudden shift to make her captain carter isn’t necessarily bad, per se. because captain carter originated in fanfiction and in marvels puzzle tales game back in 2016. and i enjoy cap peggy!! but i think the sudden pivot to her (and especially after they JUST made sam captain america…) feels…cheap? disingenuous? very #girlboss to me. which is sad because had it been done earlier or better, i wouldn’t have had a problem with it

i rmr when all the initial meta around endgame was coming out people were talking about steve being depressed and whatnot and it's like well yeah but he's BEEN depressed, like he woke up alone in this century and he kept going, now i can understand it being worse this time after finding a family and getting bucky back and losing them all except of course that's not why endgame steve was on about so like......the people writing meta were trying to connect these things that of course weren't really there on screen because that simply wasn't our steve

but i think it really could've been SO interesting to see this is the thing that finally makes steve stay down like he's lost so much and he just CAN'T keep fighting like i get some people think that's what they were going for but considering the ending......it's really not. and so i'm just thinking about a version after iw, maybe he gets some of the thor treatment except not turning his depression into a dumb fatphobic joke lol and maybe nat and others are trying to get through to him and it just doesn't work and then we get some flashbacks (which you could have done for all the original avengers actually which would be particularly important for bruce and nat and clint who did not have their own trilogies) including his mom telling him "you always stand up" and THAT being the thing to finally get him moving like it would've been such a perfect way to finally show sarah rogers some respect and ACTUALLY show steve really struggling instead of whatever they tried to do with him in that movie

Watching Hayley in Heartstopper and my Steggy brain cannot stop thinking about Peggy with Steve and hers son (Nick). Especially when he wore the Captain America costume

Steve and Peggy naming their son Nick (Maybe after Fury but no one will know. Peggy will connect the dots when she needs Fury much later in the future)

Nick who wants nothing more then to be like his 'super brave and awesome daddy' when he's growing up. There's a photo album somewhere in the Carter-Rogers household that has photos of Nick's Halloweens where he dressed up every single on as Captain America.

All handmade outfits from Ana herself (don't worry, Ana loved to make them and loved Nick's assistance and company). Mr. Jarvis designed the 'shield' himself and Nick helped paint it.

That's why there's a handprint in the middle of the Shield, just over the wonky star.

Steve finds this adorable and it becomes a tradition for the three of them to dress as Cap for every Halloween.

It's a tradition that is carried on through their grandchildren, with the same homemade outfits that had been so much life and love and cared for just as every momeno from their time as parents.
