Never mind that's it's 4:30 am, new historical legend art just dropped! I wanted to redesign historical legend's armor as the original was essentially a historical LU legend rather than my own and my silly little AU has morphed in my head into it's own distinct thing! I included a wide shot and a closeup version for better detail! This time her armor is inspired by central European armor of the 13th century, featuring still primarily maille armor as in earlier centuries yet now including some notable reinforcement from in the form of the coat of plates seen on her in red! The coat of plates is a fabric or leather (in this case leather) bodice with a bunch of small steel armor plates riveted to the inside. You'll commonly see this type of armor mistakenly coined "studded leather" in fantasy and games which is unfortunately a modern misinterpretation of period art depicting coats of plates/brigandine (a later development of the coat of plates) This armor style was very popular in the later high middle ages as the metalworking technology only allowed smiths to make relatively small plates, so overlapping them and riveting them to a soft shell gave great protection for the time. In the drawing you can see that the rivets are done in a decorative pattern which is also quite typical of the period, though of course here it's the Triforce of course! The rest of the outfit is taken both from my previous historical legend pieces as well as from the original game art from ALTTP and the silly genderswap fun from shonen captain. I didn't originally plan to draw a background for this piece but I was loving the drawing so much that I really wanted to make it pop with a fun split background with both Hyrule and the dark world! Thank to @musical-chan for the idea to use her lance as the split line and @aurora-boreas-borealis for help with the detail painting! help from y'all really helped make this one pop! Also the horse coloration is based on the intro to the oracle games where legend is seen riding a horse, but they need a name! please comment if you have ideas :)

AHHhh Amaya, as you already know, I’m hooked to this fanfic since the start and that last chapter ended with such a badass cliffhanger! This image was etched into my brain and it needed to be shared. I hope that my gift gives you the inspiration you need to continue to writing. The mystery behind Legend’s new strange power has my interest peaked. I really want to know what is happening with him and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the Chain reacts when they find out something is wrong.  I will be patiently waiting. >:]

Weapon Waifus - Pegasus Boots (Zelda)

Time for Peggy to lift off! She is a bit of a horse girl, but also is very chill and likes to laze about in the air. She also has strong thighs, able to get a lot of vertical height before her wings take over!

I still think both BotW and TotK missed out by not having an armor set that grants Speed Boost. Listen, I know it would be OP, but I've thought of a few possibilities:

With all the pieces being a throwback to the items from the older games and the Set Bonus could be making you jump twice as high.

It would be based loosely on a Cavalier outfit (or think a Red Mage from Final Fantasy). It would be a new style for Link that we haven't seen yet, with one of those hats that has a big feather in it. The 'cape' could be coat with a cape, and the boots could have Pegasus wings on the top (or at the feet like Cardcaptor Sakura). I think the default color would be blue, but it doesn't matter because it would definitely be dyeable 😅.

OR a 'makeshift' set that's composed of:

Bunny Hood (from MM)

Roc's Cape

Pegasus Boots

I would wear them literally all the time, even if the defensive stats weren't as good.

My fellow LoZ fans, I give you: the missing link (ha) between the Crimson Loftwing and Epona! :D

I've always loved the idea of loftwings evolving into horses once people moved to the surface post-Skyward Sword, and these pegs, imo, are the perfect blend of bird and horse. I mean, the Pegasus Boots had to get their name from somewhere, right? :D

I really love it in paintings when the saturated colors are the brightest ones, rather than the values determining what’s “brightest”.

More imagery from my MLP, Sword and Sorcery dreamscape. One of the characters in it is Fluttershy.  

      In this setting Fluttershy is a shaman who speaks and defends the spirits of the land. However Fluttershy has two states of being. One is her normal pegasus form, but when the moon is full she transforms into a bat pony and then she converses with the spirits of the night. 

      One of Fluttershy constant companions in the dreamscape is Manny the Manticore. The manticore act as both her protector and as her flying mount.

Meet Lute and Sonata, my LU versions of Link and Zelda from Cadence of Hyrule!

After being placed in a magical slumber by Octavo, Lute awoke with a curse that forced him to fight to a rhythm only he (and others with the same curse) could hear. He’s a swift and calculated fighter, finding patterns in every opponent and using it against them. Despite his battle prowess, he’s rather immature outside of it and has a very limited view on many things. He’s made it his mission to gather as many siblings into his found family as possible, and the chain is no exception.

Sonata was a proud and powerful fighter, and remains so even after a rhythm-based cursed forced her to relearn how to fight. She’s five years older than her destined hero, and fought by his side when they took down Ganon. She’s a woman known for her kindness and determination, though at times some may consider her stubborn.
