My mom was an amazing homemaker on top of being a working woman. She loved to cook and sew and she also loved thrifting. I inherited all of those hobbies and more from her. I found these vintage items recently, one at a garage sale and one at a thrift shop. The Singer sewing cube has 70 pieces and is the cutest little swing kit I have ever seen. 😍 The recipe box is a treasure trove of the best recipes feom the 1970's. My mom passed away 3 years ago today. These "milestone" dates can be kind of difficult. I was lucky enough to be able to spend the day with family in the majestic mountains where I grew up. Old memories flooded my mind and beautiful new ones were created today with the people I love most. Despite being my slowest finish on a 5k run (possibly the slowest one ran by anyone ever), I am most proud of my run at the 2017 Wakefield Moonlight River Run because I ran it with my 5 year old daughter. She did such a great job and even though she got discouraged half way through, she saw what the human spirit can accomplish when pushed to persevere. I know it is small potatoes compared to other podcasts but we just hit the 100 downloads milestone! I started this podcast because I wanted a way to keep the memory of my mom alive and to share the pearls of wisdom she gave me. I didn't know if anyone else would want to listen, much less share their own stories.
