Hormonal Changes In PCOS With Symptoms
Hormonal changes in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) significantly affect women's health, leading to a range of symptoms. Key hormonal imbalances include insulin resistance, elevated androgens, and disrupted levels of estrogen and progesterone. Insulin resistance can cause weight gain and increase the risk of type 2 diabetes, while high androgen levels can lead to acne, excessive hair growth, and male-pattern baldness. Estrogen dominance can result in irregular menstrual cycles and mood swings, whereas low progesterone levels contribute to heavy bleeding and PMS symptoms. Understanding these hormonal changes and their associated symptoms is vital for effective diagnosis and management of PCOS.

#Repost @vadihealth with @make_repost ・・・ At the age of 14, I was diagnosed with a huge ovarian cyst. prior to the diagnosis, I used to complain about my stomach aching. My mother thought I was making an excuse and threatened me, to take me to the doctor. Little did my mother know, that, the visit to the doctor was about to change my whole life. The doc said that my paunch was not a regular chubby baby paunch but was a cyst that was as large a 7 month pregnant woman's belly. From there on, periods became a nightmare for me, but no one spoke about the problem. I wasn't even aware about PCOS at the time the cyst was diagnosed. All I given, was immediate solutions, stomach ache- painkiller injections, stressful periods-anti-anxiety pills, inability to sleep-sleeping pills, but the root cause remained undiagnosed and unspoken about. Over the years, I learnt to listen to my body, I read and researched, identified my own symptoms and gained knowledge about PCOS. It took even longer for me to understand that every body is different, what works for me may not work for the other, or the symptom that gives me the jitters could not be an issue for someone else suffering from the same hormonal imbalance. awareness was an eye-opener, I learnt to accept my symptoms, my body’s reactions and my remedies too. Body image to me wasn't always rosy, but I learnt to accept myself without agreeing to the fact that it is ok to be this way. For me finding a balance between accepting myself and pushing myself to lead a healthier lifestyle was the key. My goal is not to become size zero, but at the same time, I keep trying to work on my appearance, but at my pace and in the way that suits my body strength as well. I have learnt in my journey with PCOS is the fact that the peace of mind lies between awareness and acceptance. The more aware you are of the hormonal imbalance and your body, the more you will be able to accept it. The more you accept, you will be able to lead a healthier lifestyle. So listen to your body, it speaks a language that only you can understand! @ikreatepassions . . . . #pcos#pcosmanagement#hormoneissues#hormonalimbalance #ikreatepassions https://www.instagram.com/p/CVSBg-AodXh/?utm_medium=tumblr

When you are diagnosed with PCOS, as part of standard treatment you might be put on oral contraceptives or birth control pills to bring your cycle back on track & to manage your symptoms. 🤝 Now, these birth control pills are basically, synthetic forms of our sex hormones- estrogen and progesterone (progestin). 👯 Women with PCOS are already pre- disposed to a number of medical conditions including a number of heart related conditions and diabetes. ❤️ Long term usage of birth control pills for managing PCOS can actually make conditions even more worse by complicating the entire scenario.🚨 Oral Contraceptives might come up as the safest options to prevent unwanted pregnancy but still these comes up with certain downsides. Continue reading below to get an idea of what possible changes you might witness in the long run as a result of relying heavily on birth control pills. 💊Elevates cholesterol levels 💊Puts mental health for a toss (due to which you might end up adding anti- depressants to your daily medications) 💊They might play with your blood sugar levels 💊Elevates inflammatory markers in the body 💊May contribute to nutritional deficiencies (by negatively impacting the gut microflora) 💊Increases your risk of developing gall stone 💊Imbalances the body’s ability to tolerate glucose. 💊Increases your risk of heart diseases 💊Puts you at a risk of developing auto-immune conditions 💊Shoots up your blood pressure Relying on OCPs considering them as the ‘cure’ for PCOS might not turn out as a wise decision.❌ Menstruation is something that should be taking place naturally and not by inducing it by putting synthetic chemicals in our system. If there is some sort of imbalance on the hormonal front, then the root cause needs to be addressed. 🙌🏻 . . . . #healthjourneywithdisha #dietbydisha #pcosdecoded #pcosdecodedbydisha #birthcontrol #knowaboutpills #fooddoctor #nutritionistsofinstagram #dietitiansofinstagram #pcos #pcosmanagement #pcosawareness #lifestylecoach #healthledger #roots #contraception #realisrare #allignhealth #healthandwellness #wellnesscoach (at Delhi, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBWBsBxpapV/?igshid=hjtfr6hlsl2t

Without the struggle, I don't think I would have appreciated what I have now found and how I handle the struggle both physically and mentally..... This is part of my beautycounter story too....the less endocrine and hormone disruptors the better..... If you haven't watched the Netflix movie Stink! yet, I urge you too....it is eye opening #Repost @holisticallyketo (@get_repost) ・・・ // GRATITUDE WEEK // 🙏🏼🤗😍🙏🏼⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ Reason #2️⃣ I’m grateful for PCOS: Deep appreciation for holistic health. ⠀ ⠀ Chronic illnesses often have mysterious causes, resulting in a full-body healing approach. Generally an immune, digestive, hormone or inflammation issue can have many symptoms and just leave your body out of whack. ⠀ ⠀ Holistic health means you treat the root of the condition as well as the symptoms. Especially with reproductive issues, a diagnosis is a window into your whole body’s health. ⠀ ⠀ My favorite part about working towards remission with PCOS is *KNOWING* I’m working my whole system towards lifelong health. SWEET. ⠀ ⠀ If I just tried to manage symptoms with typical medications, not only would my PCOS never reach remission, but I’d deal with side effects and future lifestyle illnesses. ⠀ ⠀ Things I do to take care of PCOS holistically: ⠀ ⠀ 🌿 Use ketogenic living to lower testosterone⠀ 🌿 Keto and intermittent fasting for weight loss and healthy cell regeneration⠀ 🌿 Cleanse bad estrogens and boost progesterone with seed cycling ⠀ 🌿 Supplement with well-sourced products to balance hormones based on blood work review by my naturopath⠀ 🌿 Essential oils for everyday wellness, moods, beauty care products, sleep help and stress management ⠀ 🌿 Essential oils for replacing toxic cleaning supplies in the house⠀ 🌿 Working out for hormone balancing⠀ 🌿 As much quality sleep as I can get! ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ How do you use lifestyle changes to manage your health???⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ #PCOS #polycysticovariansyndrome #endometriosis #infertility #grateful #ttc #keto #ketosis #pcoslife #pcosmanagement #ketopcos #pcosketo #chronicillness #periodproblems #ketoaf #hormoneimbalance #estrogen #progesterone #testosterone https://ift.tt/2SeIyqS
