Imagine time cuz I'm insufferable unfortunately.

But like Ford one day is home alone. Dipper's gone out with Mabel and Stanley, leaving him alone for once. So he's ya know doing his thing, enjoying the peace to the best of his ability when the Mystery Shack door bursts open. Ford looks up, startled because the shop should be closed. And Soos and Melody were in town currently. And he peeks his head around the corner to spot someone he never would have suspected to come to his doorstep. None other than Pacifica Northwest. But that's not the concerning part that puts him on edge.

It's the fact she looks like she's been crying.

Ford's immediately in Gruncle mode, because how could he not when there's a child who's obviously distressed. He sees Pacifica stiffen up when she notices him and he puts his hand up in a peaceful gesture. Looking her up and down and noticing she's got scraps and cuts from what looks like a tumble onto the ground. Ford gestures for her to come inside, letting her know that Dipper and Mabel would be home soon if she wanted to wait up for them. The blonde just nods, not meeting his gaze due to embarrassment. She takes a seat at the kitchen table and Ford gets to work finding band-aids and medicine. It's quiet between them and Ford doesn't know how to break it when Pacifica breaks it. By asking a simple question.

"What do you do, when nothing you do is ever good enough?"

And the older man just freezes. Because he wasn't expecting such a heavy question from someone like Pacifica Northwest of all people. Ford thinks about it, sensing it's a complicated situation for her. And while he's thinking of a response he thinks of his father and how he felt when he couldn't ever do enough for the older man no matter how hard he tried. And while it's not exactly the same it helps him give a response.

"If what you're doing isn't enough, then you move onto something new. There's always going to be some situation or person, where nothing you do will change it. So you have to keep going and go your own way sometimes. There's no shame in it."

And Pacifica she kinda takes it, thinking about it before just giving a nod. Ford leaves it at that, hoping that it helps her somewhat. He doesn't know exactly what's up, but he knows that Pacifica is clearly struggling with something. So he'll try his best to offer advice whenever possible. Especially when it's a friend of his grand niece and nephew.

Platinum Paz

Hello! So, like I mentioned a few days ago, I spent this week actually working for a short story for a different fandom, that fandom being Gravity Falls!

I’ve been checking out the This is not a Website dot com website and I LOVED Pacifica’s short story (she was always my fave) and I decided to write smth inspired by that story

Basically, 17 year old Pacifica has the nightmare in the short story and calls Dipper for some help!

This is indeed a Dipcifica story since I love those two together especially their possible dynamic when a bit older pre-relationship but I tried to focus it mainly around Pacifica’s mentality around asking for help cause there is no way that with the way she was raised that girl is okay with any level of vulnerability at all, so yeah

Part 1: Pacifica's story

Pacifica stormed into her palatial bedroom and slammed the door so hard her chandeliers shook.

(There were at least 3 chandeliers in Pacifica’s room, including a teensy chandelier over her nightlight.)

She buried her head in a velvet pillow and screamed for an inhumanly long time, then flopped over and stewed at the painted cherubs on her ceiling. It wasn’t FAIR.

After everything she did for her parents- get up at 5 for fencing lessons, beauty pageants, fox-hunting, butler-hunting, cleaning up the black feathers after dads weird “grown up masquerade parties”- THIS is how they repay her HER! PACIFICA ELISA NORTHWEST!

It had been a rough summer for Pacifica- first she came alarmingly close to losing a Party Crown, then her golf skills were called into question, and now her parents grounded her for literally saving the entire family from a Category 10 ghost and shut off the spigot on her caviar tap for rest of the year. What was she supposed to eat now Dog Food She angrily opened her mini-fridge and pulled out an UpperCrustablesTM brand snack pack and angrily spread the caviar on the tiny baguette.

“Ugh, why does it come with this dumb little stick. The caviar always gets stuck in the CORNERS!”

She looked at a napkin where Dipper had written the shack’s phone number in case killing the ghost might have created a “double ghost.” Ha! As if she would put HIS number in HER phone.

Everything in her life used to make so much more sense before those PINES twins came along and screwed everything up.

That stupid Mabel and her baffling, undeserved confidence. That know-it-all sweat stain Dipper who’s giant head was always butting against hers.

Something about Dipper’s words had knocked over a domino in her mind that started a chain reaction that was causing her whole identity to come crashing down.

He told her she had potential to change into…a better person. How do you become a better person when you’re already the best person? It didn’t make sense!

Thinking about it exhausted her, and soon, her eyelids began to droop.

Soon she was… she was...

In Pacifica’s dream, she was freshening up at a party washing her hands when she noticed something… red, swirling in the drain.

here is my reverse falls au pitch (rev falls 2.0?) but with my own tweaks:

pacifica (paz) southeast (15) is the child of two hippies who own the mystery shack, a new-age spiritual museum and bookstore. unbeknownst to them, the previous owner who disappeared a years before they bought the shack had placed a shield around it from the supernatural. however, paz being born in the shack did something to the shield and she's basically absorbed it, becoming more or less immune to supernatural forces (she doesn't know this yet).

her friends and allies are the staff at the shack, including wendy corduroy (16) and melody (22). her parents, for all of being new age hippies, are ignorant of the real supernatural under their noses. paz has always been suspicious of the town, but starts to believe when she discovers journal 3 hidden under one of the floorboards in the attic.

the pines family have been in town for generations. they're old money, and have gotten their wealth by manipulating people through the demon will cypher, who was tricked into serving the family at the turn of the 1900s. only a few members of the family have manifested psychic powers - and the only living members who currently have powers are mabel (16) and mason (16), who are telepathic and telekinetic respectively. ford had powers, but he went missing years ago - stan does not, but he is the twin's legal guardian after their parent's deaths.

mabel and paz are diametrically opposed upon officially meeting when they both start at gravity falls high school. one of the reasons being that she can't read paz's mind, for reasons she doesn't understand. mason - in possession of journal 2 - is fascinated by this and paz in general, though he maintains a cool facade. after the both of them end up hunting the same supernatural entity, they realize that both of them have clued in to the strangeness of the falls, that extends beyond just one demon - because the thing is, more and more supernatural entities keep leaking into their dimension through a rift.

begrudgingly, and much to their friend groups mutual dismay, paz and mason make a good team. her immunity to magic and general stubbornness and determination make her a tank, whereas mason's telekinetic powers and knowledge of magic make him a formidable ally. they start monster hunting together, but not because they like each other or anything!

sure, they've saved each other multiple times but that's because the other is crucial to the mission! and that episode where paz posed as mason's date to a banquet in order to excorcise a ghost was just for convenience even though they did dance together and share a very charged look that extended way beyond what was necessary...

paz is motivated to hunt them down to protect the town, whereas mason is motivated by a desire to protect his family and their secret. but, the rift supernatural beings enter through can only be closed through releasing will - and no living person knows how to do that.

aka reverse falls meets buffy the vampire slayer meets supernatural meets (insert teen monster hunter show)
