A new episode from the beloved series "Why I hate Paywalls." I stumbled over a fall collection which will be released piece by piece under early access. The early access tier is 3$, so the entire collection will make sweet, sweet 15$ of early access money. You'll get the first item in November and the last item in December. For us broke peasants the first item will go public in December and the last one in January. Jep, almost one month ea for each piece. If you have a hunch who I refer to please just block and ignore them.

Perma-paywalling cc is one thing, but having all your paywalled cc blurred is W I L D! Like, babe I can't even *see* what you make looks like or open the post to read what it even *is*, why would I buy a subscription to BLURRY SQUARES that I can only look at after I've given you money????!!!!

I will forever side eye people who put sim dumps behind paywalls because you don’t own any of that cc!

It also states in like 99% of creators TOU to not put their shit behind a paywall… also some creators content is always free which is a double slap in the face!!

If you want to make money off the sims make your own shit and do early access ✨

I agree being kicked from TSR after years of using it sucks. I read that TSR sent a generic e-mail to those creators that allegedly didn't state a reason why. Did any of them post it yet? I'm curious. Maybe posting about uploading to ModCo, a direct competitor to TSR, now also wasn't the best idea?

But I wouldn't worry too much about the income of those creators. They still have Patreon, Boosty, ModCo, or even CF to turn to. And some already did or will. 🤷‍♀️ And I fear the community won't care about how scummy the alternatives are.

Call To Action

Normally I try to mind my own business and Keep my Ps and Qs but seeing what is happening to people I speak with and people I adore, I will stand 10 toes down for them!

Recently, TSR has demoted atleast 70 artist in a fell swoop. These artist were given no warning, no explanation as to what happened, no opportunity to rectify their situation, all they got was a half baked standardised email.

What TSR does not realize is that there is power in the people. Many of the artist let go are staples of our community!! ThisIsThem, Remus, ShakeProductions, the list literally goes on. Understand that these artists had no pledge of exclusivity to TSR. They are not owned by TSR. They have paid for works that are uploaded there but not for everything the creator makes. Imagine working for a company loyally for 10+ years and then being fired without a word.

What they seem to not realize either is that they have now taken away many people's source of income. I know some believe creators shouldn't make income from CC but that is the whole point of TSR tbh. And now they are making it difficult for artist to remove their creations because its apparently abusive to other artist. So now they have fired many wonderful folks, put them out of jobs, but will continue to profit from them!!

This is my call to action for the simmers of the community I create for and adore. Support these creators elsewhere! I have canceled my TSR Vip and will no longer upload there. If others follow suit, it's what they deserve. They need to understand that TSR is nothing without its loyal artist and if they wish to act so carelessly, they need to see that we wont take it lying down!

sending from a blank bc these creators are 💀 im so glad these people showed themselves and all this crying is sending me lots of them stopped posting on tsr and are now crying , they moved to mod co and crying about being fired???? 💀 they just want sympathy for more fame and money

It's like a circle. Those creators will bitch and whine but continue to post and make money like nothing happened. People will defend them with the most ridiculous reasons (bakers and selling bread are a favorite) why they deserve money. And follow them wherever they go. Oh, and come after those who dare to voice concerns or say otherwise. It happened after the doxxing rings on Patreon were uncovered. When EA announced they'll finally enforce their TOU. When Patreon froze monetization for Russian creators. When community members asked creators to stop uploading their stuff to Curseforge. When community members voiced concerns about ModCo that charges users for basic website functions like a dating app. And now because TSR is 'firing' creators. The monetization of CC hurts all of us. Creators and CC users alike.

What Happened to Paywall CC Needs?

hii everyone! i've been getting a ton of messages asking what happened to my server, Paywall CC Needs. i'd just like to clear some stuff up since a lot of people think they were banned/kicked!! for starters: you weren't kicked or banned- don't worry! you and almost 10k members were removed due to Discord's Copyright Infringement policy.. basically the server was deleted due to Copyright. we have a feeling we know who did it since one of my mods got 2-3 copyright warnings for posting a specific creator. sadly, discord doesn't show who copyright claimed something and it doesn't give you any chance to get the server back once its deleted, so the server and.. all the cc is gone. so, where do we go from here? my mods and I are already brainstorming and working on another server. i will also be making a separate tumblr and possibly a website for the server so that if it is deleted yet again, we'll at least be able to communicate with you all better. I'm so sorry the server was deleted and there isn't a backup set up right away. truthfully, I didn't think the server would be deleted, and with what's going on irl, it wasn't on the top of my list of things to do.

please make sure to keep a look out on this tumblr, and on my instagram- cringetrait! I'll post updates there, and once the server is made I will update you all asap! ;-; thank you all for the support. I'm still so grateful that we got to almost 10k members. this server was my baby and my pride and joy, which I know sounds weird but.. i made it by myself with no help until later on, it truly was something special to me and you all made it special. so thank you so much. new server coming soon!
