Also Bain is alive, I'm mixing Payday 2 and Payday 3 together, so Shade is there too!

The Payday gang need the slightest whisper of an excuse to throw a party these days. How could they not? They had more money than any of them could reasonably burn through in several lifetimes, let alone the one they actually had - so throwing lavish parties for themselves and their CrimeNet associates was a no-brainer.

The countdown to midnight began. Jiro, Joy and Gao Fong dutifully raised their glasses, more observers than real participants - their new year would come later according to the lunar cycle, and was always more enjoyable anyway. Wolf and Hoxton clung to each other, eyes carefully watching the seconds tick down so they could kiss at exactly midnight. Sokol, Duke, Jimmy and Bonnie had pint glasses filled with - something - that they planned to down as soon as the clock struck midnight, with a fierce bet between them on who would down their drink fastest (they had roped Aldstone into being the timekeeper for this dubious event).

Nobody expected it to be Vlad that caused the most chaos. As soon as the clock struck twelve - and a chorus of Happy New Year went up from the TV and the heisters who weren't lip-locked or drinking furiously - there was a fierce gasp and strain of Ukrainian swears from Vlad.

The contractor hurried across the Safehouse to where Locke was standing, sipping champagne from a delicate flute. He grabbed the mercenary's face in both hands, and pulled him down for a kiss. Locke mmmph'd and struggled and spluttered until Vlad ended it, pulling back with an exaggerated "MWAH!" that had the Safehouse falling into expectant, surprised silence.

Locke was beet red, blinking as if to check whether that had really happened. Vlad was smiling broadly, teeth on show as he slung an arm around Locke's shoulders.

"Happy New Year, everyone!"

actually there's a lot of possible friendships for jiro i think work really well but we don't see a lot of him in anything unfortunately. so i picked jimmy for this one!

i like to think of jiro as someone who will calmly do the weirdest shit, or at least is happy to enable it. even with the weight of kento hanging above him, it doesn't mean he'd just be sad all the time you know. the payday gang is different to the yakuza in that (i think) everyone would genuinely support one another as relative equals. because everyone is valuable they need that camaraderie. jiro isn't immune to that.

jimmy and jiro are hanging out near each other in the safehouse which means something i think. maybe jiro has taken jimmy under his wing, making sure he's ok and hasn't fainted in the bathtub. but also telling him about weird and fun shit he can do and sitting back and watching the chaos.

jimmy is a smart dude, and probably has a hunger for knowledge of all kinds. jiro would be happy to teach him everything from taiko drumming to gunpla. i see dallas telling jiro off about jimmy doing something and jiro just sitting like -_- because yeah that is his fault and no he does not regret a thing.

jimmy also needs a few stable friends i think. just to keep himself sane and happy. jiro is a very good contender. jiro needs a chaotic influence to keep him from getting too stuck in his own thoughts. and i think jimmy works well for this.

also jimmy is one of the few people who can give jiro a run for his money in shogi.

Minor payday 2 secret ending spoilers. So Jiro and Sangrés are so gay, right? Like what the fuck could possibly have been going through Sangrés' mind other than "I'm gonna fuck this yakuza dilf six ways to sunday" when he volunteered to accompany him on his super personal revenge mission against the Yakuza? And why did Jiro let him tag along if it was a super personal revenge mission? They 👏 are 👏 kissing 👏. Why does nobody talk about this? Did they get married in secret without the gang knowing and this is their honeymoon? Who proposed? I am screaming and crying Overkill, you can't just make a gayass plot point like that and just leave me in the dark.

as a left 4 dead 2 player, if bain was to turn into an infected due to being injected with green flu, he would’ve become a smoker, since the mercy hospital patient showed signs of turning into a smoker (same cough sound as a smoker, face bandages in the areas where the smoker is mutated)

I haven’t played Left 4 Dead, but doesn’t the virus mutate quickly? It stands to reason that Bain might not have become that because the virus reacts differently to people. Different symptoms, you know?

You could argue that the Dentist was experimenting with the virus to eliminate the flaws and leaving the benefits, which could’ve been part of Bain’s super strength in the Hell’s Island heist. I mean, he punched through multiple faceplates and took out over a dozen mercenaries with his fists and a pistol. (It’s even implied that he… phased through solid metal? Which I’m chalking up to the alien thing. There’s a bloody footprint halfway through metal bars so like…)

Just based on the super strength stuff, maybe he would’ve become a tank? Dallas mentions that Bain might’ve gotten that because his cells were burning out or something. Adverse effects based on his biology? Maybe that’s why the experiment failed. (I personally think that the Dentist injected Bain because he knew that the gang was coming for him)

But anyway I respectfully disagree—we know what the patient zero guy was gonna turn into, but Bain’s possible infection is left up to interpretation.

(Aren’t there people in L4D that are immune to the virus? So maybe Bain’s bloodline makes him partially immune… bro still dies though womp womp)

From what I know and feel of their vibes:

Bain - We haven't seen any proof of him doing it, and I'm kind of torn on it. 'Cause that could be a potential security risk for him, depending on how he gets the nail polish and what kind he uses being turned into some way of tracking him. But, I can also see him sitting at his computer, painting his nails blue to pass the time while something compiles on his desktop or the guys are stealthing a heist. I dunno. Your Mileage May Vary.

Dallas - He wouldn't and never has. If anyone pestered him about painting his nails for him, he would complain and leave the Safe House with the excuse of 'needing to buy more cigarettes'. Even if he bought a pack just that morning.

Chains - He doesn't paint his nails, but he wouldn't be bothered if someone asked to paint them for him. He'd just remove it later if he needed to go on a heist or something like that. He probably wouldn't care which color they gave him, but he'd ask for purple if they gave him a choice.

Wolf - He was a dad in his old life, so he wouldn't care if someone painted his nails. Otherwise, he doesn't go out of his way for it. Another 'doesn't care what color' kind of guy, and I don't think he'd ask for a specific one, unless he wanted it to match something of his for some reason. Like, if he wanted his nails to match his 40K army he was running at the time. (After much thinking on it, I think he would field Tyranids and Genestealers as his main [either Pauper Princes or Rusted Claw], Khorne Daemons with corrupted Astra Militarum as his secondary, and Necron Flayed Ones as his third. Fight me.)

Hoxton - Dude's from the British Punk scene, so he definitely paints his nails whenever he's not on a heist. Lots of blacks and reds. I bet you $20USD that he freehanded the anarchy symbol on his thumbs more than once. The one on his right thumb always looks better, southpaw that he is.

Houston - YMMV again, but I don't think he does. Houston is very particular and works with his hands a lot--especially when it comes to the van. He's probably washing his hands constantly. Also, since some of his behaviors come off as Autistic Spectrum tics, he probably doesn't like the feel of nail polish on his nails. I, personally, despise the feel of nail polish. My fingers feel like they're suffocating under thick mud, and so I reflexively scrape it off to get rid of the feeling. He might do the same.

John Wick - Unless he did it while he was with the Ruska Roma family for any plays or ballet they made him do, he doesn't and he won't let anyone paint his nails for him. If anyone would ask to do it for him, he'd just give them that mildly annoyed glare that he has, say "No," and walk away.

Dragan - Playful as he is, he wouldn't--either on his own or if someone offered. Dude's still too wrapped up in being an enforcer for the Butcher and a gym rat in his off-hours. He's got no time for it, and it's 'just not his thing.'

Jacket - He probably wouldn't do it on his own, but he would sit there while someone else did it (so long as it is Sydney or Wolf painting them). His recorder would be peppy in its responses, even though his facial expression wouldn't change from his usual dead-eyed stare during the process. But, overall, I think he would be happy with some bright, neon colors on his nails.

Sokol - He wouldn't do it on his own, and he'd be insulted by someone else offering to do it. But, eventually, he'd thaw to it and the curiosity would get to him until he'd finally ask if someone would paint his nails for him. YMMV on whether or not he would like it or figure out that it's not his thing, but at least he'd move past a minor part of a learned stigma after the experience.

Jiro - He wouldn't. He's an old-time yakuza, so that would be a no-go with him.

Bodhi - He's all sports and bravado-focused, so I don't think he would. But, I dunno. It depends on how easy going y'all think he is with the rest of the Crew, and whether or not y'all think he would agree to sit there and let someone else do it, so YMMV here as well.

Jimmy - He would if someone else painted his nails for him, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he 'woke up' in his clone to find his nails already done up in a rainbow of colors and lil' designs. 'Cause, his uninhabited, motionless clone would be the perfect subject to paint, after all.

Rust - He wouldn't. Ever. If anyone asked if they could paint his nails for him, he would sling A LOT of slurs and just tell them to 'shoot him instead.'

Scarface - He wouldn't. Male bravado once again, except his ego is a 'different kind of inflated' compared to the other guys. Depending on if he took any yayo, he might even pull a gun or a knife on whoever offered to do his nails.

Sangres - He's similar to Scarface in the machismo department, but in a Mexican ganger kind of way, instead of 'a kingpin with something to prove.' So, he wouldn't paint his nails on his own, no. But, he's also mostly easy going with the rest of the Crew, if a bit abrasive in his approach, meaning that he might let someone else do it for him, even if he just removes it right after. Then again, he might tell them to fuck off before they even finish asking. It just depends.

Duke - He wouldn't, as the chemicals in the nail polish could potentially damage any of the artifacts he messes with.

Gage - He would do it to throw off people, but he tends to pretend to be a homeless veteran, so he doesn't need to, normally. Otherwise, he doesn't do it for any personal reasons.

Vlad - He would let someone paint his nails, especially if it would confuse others. Also, the thought of beating someone who owed him money while his nails were painted pink with red and white hearts would be hilarious to him.

Locke - He wouldn't, and he'd say British-specific slurs in response to being asked. I can actually see Hoxton getting mad at him and stomping over in a huff just to fire back, even if he only managed to overhear part of the conversation from a different room. 'Talk shit, get hit,' as they say.

"Sir!" Kento acknowledged his superior with brisk efficiency.

Dallas wasn't heeding The Dentist's obvious triumph, and the hopelessness of the situation. As much as Bain silently willed the man to keep his goddamn mouth shut, the mastermind refused to do so.

"Jiro's been looking for you-"

"Bain and the Payday gang leader known as Dallas will be released shortly. You will be escorted onto a plane-"

"Your Dad Jiro, you know?"

Kento continued as there were no interruption at all, speaking clearly and unhurriedly.

"-where you will both be flown to your desired locations-"

"Dallas-" Bain hissed.

"-once we have secured the leverage we require." Kento's face remained perfectly stoic as he spoke, totally unaffected by Dallas' interjections and attempts to - what, exactly? Annoy Kento into beating them? Bain knew better than most not to piss off Kento, knew what lay behind that neutral visage. Kento was cruel in his precision, executing orders to hurt and maim without a moment's hesitation.

"As we know your secrets, so too have you learned some of ours." Dallas glanced at Bain.

"If you keep our secrets, we will keep yours." Kento raised a hand, placing it atop the camera.

"We will provide face coverings for Bain. Dallas shows his face. His body, too."

Bain blanched. He physically recoiled. He thought he heard a sharp intake of breath - and fought not to watch how The Dentist's grin grew bigger as Kento's words sunk in.

"What's wrong, Mr Steele?" The Dentist crowed, taking a step closer to the mastermind - Dallas immediately stepped away from him, finally level with Bain's side.

Kento continued. "We record Dallas cumming. The method doesn't matter - but his face remains visible at all times. This ensures your cooperation in keeping our secrets, and in turn we shall keep yours." His features sharpened, like a hawk spying its prey. "Failure to keep our secrets results in the footage being leaked, along with your name and last known location... Nathan."

Bain's eye shot to Dallas's face. Gone was the arrogant blustering of before, his talking back. Behind the bruising and blood the man had paled. All the insults he'd wanted to hurl at them had died - his stunned lips had flown wide apart.

"You're sick," he whispered. "You're a sick fucking bastard."

yeah no problem ! i'm not too experienced with writing platonic things , let alone teenage/child reader situations , but i can most definitely try !

You're adopted by the Payday gang

The gang literally has no fucking clue what to do with you when they find you in front of the safe house

You were dropped off by Twitch at the safe house and Duke was the one to meet with you first

Litearally has no clue what's going on, and the rest of the crew ends up gathering as well to see what was happening

Dallas eventually got a call from Bain, explaining the entire situation

You were adopted by Bain for reasons unknown, and now you kinda just live there

It takes a bit of time for the gang to warm up to you, but once they do, it's pure fun from then on out

Jiro is like the calm parental figure that teaches you coping mechanisms for things like anxiety, depression, or other issues

He's the first one to notice if something's wrong, and he would be the first one you would go to

Duke is like that really cool relative that can and will blabber on about ancient shit

He'll offer to take you to a museum of your choice on his days off, and if you take a real interest in something you see, then he'll probably steal it during a heist just to make you happpy

Sydney, Joy, and Wolf are basically your chaotic family

Joy will teach you the ropes on tech and hacking, Sydney would let you go ham on designing masks, and Wolf would help you try to make your own contraption in his workshop

These situations typically get you and the gang in some trouble [Making a mess with paint, making the most dangerous fucking contraption in humanity, accidentally hacking into some really dangerous/important database, etc]

That's where Aldsotne, Dallas, and Hoxton come in

They're like the calm and tired parents of the gang like oml give them a fucking break

If chaos ensues and it involves you, Dallas will be the first one to hear about it and immediately try to diffuse the situation

Hoxton would be the one to give you a good scolding about it, and Aldstone would be the one cleaning and teen-proofing the place where it happened

Sokol and Bonnie are the more chill ones and often like to teach you how to play games

Sokol will teach you how to play hockey, and he might even take you to an ice skating rink to teach you how to skate [if you don't know how to that is]

Bonnie would teach you the tricks behind gambling. Obviously she won't use real money when playing with you, but she'll use fake chips to demonstrate the stakes that are put on the table when in such situation

Jacket is like that weird and quiet relative that you are a little uncomfortable with but manage to get along with him after a few hours

He'll let you record your own lines for his tape recorder and might even use them during heists

Jacket also likes to offer to play video games with you, and you often beat him in them. Of course, he doesn't complain or anything because if he did, he knew he'd probably be mauled

Ethan and Hila like to invite you to record videos with them

Whether it be a vlog about daily life, a YouTube challenge, or a talent showoff, they always wanna make sure you feel included

Hell, when they post their vlogs, they'll often brag about how epic you are and make sure that you get a nice amount of attention on social media. If you're okay with it that is

All in all, the Payday gang is a pretty good family considering your whole orphan situation

poor reader trying to balance all their time with all 20 of the payday gang + bain.. i imagine theyd be given a cellphone with all their numbers + a tracker placed by bain. plus i think aldstone and all the contractors would take a liking to reader as well! = their phone blowing up 24/7. this idea is living in my head rent free lol, i think learning how to play poker from bonnie or sydney designing a special mask for reader sounds so cute! they would probs draw sticks to see who can go on a stealth mission with reader. how'd you think they would react if reader got hurt on the job??

If Reader got hurt on the job all hells coming lose. Anyone whose doing the heist immediately goes insane while the more professional one takes care of Reader. The others are bashing and killing the cops with such anger they’ve never seen. After the heist Bain gets their doctor to check Reader because their all worried. After that they won’t be allowed to go on a few heist until everyone is calmed but they still get a paycheck because they deserve their fucking paycheck.

Now for the phone part,yeah it’s blowing up a lot to the point Reader has it on do not disturb 24/7 at this point. Bain literally has to tell everyone chill the fuck out with the text and calls because it’s getting annoying plus Reader’s about to block all of them even though Reader knows they’ll make another number. It calms down but it’s still blowing up a bit but much calmer. Jacket uses this to talk to reader every day. I feel like Jacket is probably Reader’s favorite because he gives them a fresh breath of air with suffocating them. Reader’s phone is hella decorated with stickers that represent all of them,few of them sharing a sticker.

The drawing stick park is right,Bain keeps track but also uses it to keep the heisters to behave. If they misbehave or make them lose money they get a tally off but if they behave and don’t make them lose money they get a tally on. By the end of the week the people with the most tallies get to go on a stealth mission with Reader. Usually ends up being Wolf,Jacket,and Jiro but that’s because their actually fucking calm and don’t go insane. They all rub it into the others faces that they got to go on a stealth mission with Reader. Basically stealth mission with Reader = heaven to the heisters.

Now yeah Bonnie and Sydney taught Reader how to play poker. They also taught Reader to cheat at poker without getting caught. When they all play Poker Reader always wins because of this,also Reader’s poker face is the best because I feel like they always wear a mouth mask with different smiley faces or mouths while their eyes just look so done with idk just thought of that. Yet if it’s Bonnie,Sydney and Reader playing against each other it’s a LONG game. They all know each others techniques and habits. It takes HOURS for them to finish just one round. With those three playing any of them can win because no one is going easy,if one goes to the rest room they take their cards because they don’t trust the others. Bain often has to tell them to stop it because Reader needs sleep but Reader just brushes him off and says “trust me a few days without sleep ain’t nothing like a week without sleep. SYDNEY/BONNIE HURRY YOUR ASS!” Reader becomes so hostile and rude but determined during poker. Their silent but when they talk they are cussing or trash talking the others because they want to win.

Now the mask Bonnie and Sydney made it because Reader’s original one was just a blank with one with a smile face. They made it to Reader’s liking and added their initials very tiny on it,like it’s hidden tiny! Reader probably has a ton because everyone wanted to make them one but Reader mostly wears Bonnie and Sydney’s mask because it’s like their face in a way. It’s like how glasses feel like you’ve been born with them that’s how Reader feels with their mask. Bain made them a special one but they mostly wear that one for stealth mission. They wear the other mask it’s just mostly Bonnie and Sydney’s mask which the two girls rub it in the others faces.
