been using a Pavlok, which is a little watch shaped thing you program to buzz, make a sound, or shock you, or combinations. I have a horrendous time waking up, being a notoriously deep sleeper and grumpy when I wake up. So far my main problems with it are
I sleep through the lower rumble/tone/shock settings
Forgetting to charge
Taking it off in my sleep despite rotating wrists and even ankles
And the main one
I SLEEP THROUGH IT SHOCKING ME HALF THE TIME!!!!!
If I don’t have it set to 70% or higher, I don’t even notice it!! The whole concept is it gets me used to waking up to the buzz or tone so avoid the shock (the bad stimulus) but that doesn’t really work if I don’t notice them. Might just set everything to 100 for the next week.
There’s also the multiple options for how you can make it turn off (which becomes irrelevant when I take it off in my sleep): jumping jacks, a “logic puzzle”, or scanning a QR code.
I just want to wake up consistently, man.
If anyone has any ideas please share with the class.

Pavlok Net Worth After Shark Tank
Pavlok is a unique wearable device that promises to help people break bad habits and form good ones. It is designed to deliver a mild electric shock whenever the wearer engages in a targeted bad habit such as biting nails, procrastinating or even smoking.
The idea behind Pavlok is to create a strong association between the bad habit and the unpleasant sensation, which eventually helps the wearer overcome the habit.
Maneesh Sethi the founder of Pavlok, is an innovative entrepreneur with a unique approach to behavioral change. Born in California in 1987, Sethi developed a passion for self-improvement and personal growth from a young age.
Sethi’s experiences with procrastination and lack of focus led him to create Pavlok.
He initially experimented with hiring someone to slap him whenever he got off track but found it impractical. This led him to develop the idea for Pavlok, a wearable device that delivers a mild electric shock to help break bad habits.
Manish Sethi came to pitch his product on the 7th episode of Shark Tank S29. His ask was $500,000 for 3.14% of the company.
Investors weren’t impressed with Manish’s pitch because he had no studies to prove that his technology was effective. Apart from this, the investors did not like Manish’s rude behavior. Read More

foone I need your help. you're the only person I can think to ask. I recently developed some sort of narcolepsy type disorder and it would be useful if my friends could trigger a shock collar or something similar via IFTTT or app, to wake me up if I fall asleep during the day. my searches for actually remote-triggered collars or devices haven't been successful except for stuff like the Lovense, which could work I guess but they're kind of bulky to wear as a bracelet or something. not to mention expensive. and I don't want to put something up me just to use the alarm function. anyway let me know if you know anyone working on this ok thank you byeeee
I've worked on doing some remote collar shocking stuff but it's tricky and incomplete.
I think the only off the shelf option is a PAVLOK:
It's a watch that shocks you, but it apparently can sync with a phone and you can set it up to shock you when you get emails and stuff? I don't know how well those functions work, so you may want to look into it more before you drop the cash on it, but it looks like it might do what you want.

There's some potty training watches that come close on features. There's an e-vibra one on Amazon that only displays the clock if you press a button but keeps the numbers on with a countdown in timer mode. But you have to press the button a couple times for whatever time, hrm.
A Pavlok night work if it had a couple buttons and a screen probably.
A Lilywatch S3 would get you there if you want hardware and are willing to roll your own software/watchface entirely basically.
I need ugly adhd tools.

Immutouch wristband buzzes to stop you touching your face
In the age of coronavirus, we all have to resist the urge to touch our faces. It’s how the virus can travel from doorknobs or other objects to your mucus membranes and get you sick. Luckily, a startup called Slightly Robot had already developed a wristband to stop another type of harmful touching — trichotillomania, a disorder that compels people to pull out their hair.
So over the last week,…

Waking up with Pavlok’s wrist-shocking wearable alarm clock
I can’t help but think about shock collars when I wrap the bright orange silicone around my wrist. They’ve always seemed fairly cruel. And yet, here I go, putting one on myself — not for barking or wandering out of the yard, but for the crime of having a hard time getting my butt out of bed at 6AM. And while I certainly have more agency in the matter, the comparison… Read More
