Here's to one of the best actors of his generation, the versatile and multilingual king who's been pulling heartstrings for three decades with a variety of roles, faces, and languages... Happy 46th birthday, Daniel Brühl!
p.s. who's your favorite Danny character? Sound off in the comments or the tags—or don't. I'm not your mother. 😋

EXCLUSIVE: Tom Hiddleston (Thor franchise) and Mark Hamill (Star Wars) are set to star in new Stephen King adaptation The Life Of Chuck, which will be a hot package at the upcoming Cannes market.
Doctor Sleep and The Haunting Of Hill House helmer Mike Flanagan is directing, scripting and producing for Intrepid Pictures alongside fellow producer Trevor Macy.
FilmNation will handle international sales with WME Independent handling domestic.
Based on the short story from King’s 2020 anthology If It Bleeds, The Life of Chuck is three separate stories linked to tell the biography of Charles Krantz in reverse, beginning with his death from a brain tumour at 39 and ending with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house.
The script, which was adapted prior to the WGA strike, has been in the works for several months with Hiddleston set to play the title character and Hamill joining for the role of Albie.
According to the production, the genre project will draw tonally from Stand By Me, The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile.
Golden Globe and Olivier winner Hiddleston is best known for Thor, Avengers and TV series The Night Manager, as well as stage projects such as Betrayal and Hamlet for Ken Branagh.
Hamill is best known for his portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars movies and reprised his role in both the sequels as well as the second season of The Mandalorian and season one of The Book of Boba Fett. He recently appeared in Netflix’s Sandman and will star in Intrepid and Netflix’s House Of Usher, which will air later this year.
Stephen King, aka ‘The King Of Horror’, is among the all-time best-selling authors. Among his books and short stories to have been adapted into hit movies are Carrie, The Shining, Pet Sematary, It, Stand By Me, The Running Man, The Shawshank Redemption, and The Green Mile.
This is the latest project to join a bumper Cannes market slate for FilmNation. Also on the lineup are Amy Adams-Paul Rudd comedy The Invite, Dave Bautista action-thriller The Cooler, and Andrew Garfield project Voyagers, among others.
Hiddleston is represented by UTA (US), Hamilton Hodell (UK), and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole; Hamill is represented by Gersh and Kleinberg Lange Cuddy & Carlo; Flanagan, Macy and Intrepid are represented by WME, with VanderKloot Law also representing Flanagan and Reder & Feig handling Macy.

In the upscale Toronto strip club Exotica, dancer Christina is visited nightly by the obsessive Francis, a depressed tax auditor. Her ex-boyfriend, the club’s MC, Eric, still jealously pines for her even as he introduces her onstage, but Eric is having his own relationship problems with the club’s female owner. Thomas, a mysterious pet-shop owner, is about to become unexpectedly involved in their lives. Credits: TheMovieDb. Film Cast: Francis: Bruce Greenwood Christina: Mia Kirshner Eric: Elias Koteas Thomas: Don McKellar Tracey Brown: Sarah Polley Zoe: Arsinée Khanjian Harold: Victor Garber Inspector: David Hemblen Customs Officer: Calvin Green Man in Taxi: Peter Krantz Scalper: Jack Blum Man at opera: Billy Merasty Doorman: Ken McDougall Man at Opera: Damon D’Oliveira …: Maury Chaykin …: C.J. Harwood Grip: Harper Forbes Boom Operator: Peter Melnychuk Set Dresser: Garth Brunt Makeup Artist: Nicole Demers Hair Designer: Debra Johnson Original Music Composer: Mychael Danna Sound Designer: Steve Munro Movie Reviews: badelf: The best psychological drama I’ve seen in a long time. I can’t even remember anything that comes close. Filipe Manuel Neto: **Something abstract and disconnected, not worth seeing more than once in our life.** This is one of those films that puts such a huge barrier between the audience and the screen that it seems like we’re not even being taken into consideration by the producers. Despite the attempts, there is not a single sympathetic or palatable character, the script does not help and the feeling that hangs in the air is of a lack of connection and solidity in the final product that can only be explained if we think about the way the director wanted to be. abstract by force. Everything takes place around a chic striptease club, Exotica, in Toronto. There is a dancer who enchants not only a client who goes to see her every day, but also the presenter, who is her ex-boyfriend and one of the most possessive and unhappy people we can imagine. Add to this an animal trafficker with problems admitting homosexuality who is forced to participate in a revenge plan, and we have a film that we probably won’t want to see more than once. Atom Egoyan gives us firm direction, but a much less secure and solid script. I like the way it addresses loss, trauma, the feeling of denial of reality and grief. However, to believe that a woman would set up an elegant strip club and her daughter would have the courage to take over the “family business” is to completely ignore the realities of these commercial establishments, where legality and illegality sometimes go hand in hand. A real luxury house would never hold private sessions on tables in the main room for a low price, but in separate rooms for a much higher price, and real strippers don’t usually dance to the same music and use the same stage number constantly. There are also huge holes that the script never explains and that are left hanging. For example, why did Christina decide to become a stripper if it is clear, from the characters’ words, that that is not the place she deserved to be. Bruce Greenwood is the actor who deserves the most praise for his work here. He is the only one trying to break the ice and reach out to the public in some way, and that deserv...

good evening! i honestly adore your works, they’re amazing and absolutely perfect written🫶
i’m wondering if you’re writing for Paul Krantz or Alex Kerner? if yes, could i please request an one-shot with Paul, which would be about him felling in love with reader, who was a sister of his friend (well, like in movie, but the reader loves him back, not like Hilde💀), and maybe it would include some intimate poems or letters from Paul. OR a NSFW one-shot with Alex, where he and reader would have their first time together (so obviously with a virginity loss and maaaybe a bit of boobies kink?🥹)
thank you!!!
Hey BB, I haven't seen their films yet, but I'm going to save this request for when I have seen them, so look out for it in the future! 💕

6 TYPES OF DANIEL BRÜHL CHARACTERS
(updated as of 19 February 2025) After going through his filmography—54 movies, 2 TV shows, 2 music videos, and 1 documentary—I've noticed the roles that he plays often fall into these categories...
#1 - because he's German, obviously, a Nazi. The bottom two are a little niche as he plays 'unwanted Nazi admirer'.
Tumblr media
#2 - guy you can take home to meet your parents. He's played way too many of these—it's a given with that beautiful baby face—but these would be my top six. Bottom layer gets extra points for being a good friend to the elderly.
Tumblr media
#3 - opposite that is the guy your parents warned you about. It seems Daniel has a lot of fun playing these, especially the top layer, which leans on the love-to-hate category. I can't tell if it's just my utter distaste for The Face of an Angel (if you know, you know), but I also considered adding Thomas Lang. Could be why Chris in Cargo made it here as well... because what even was that movie.
Tumblr media
#4 - now we have 'man in way above his head by the situation his political ideologies have gotten him into'. You almost always need a trigger warning for the films these characters are in as they will absolutely gut you. They're often based on real people and events. So you will learn something about history while Daniel gets tortured into a pulp.
Tumblr media
#5 as he’s gotten beefier older, he’s getting more and more of these roles: sugar daddy. We don’t know much about Dirk, but I just know he’d have to be one to be in a relationship with anyone. Does Laszlo count? I wasn’t sure.
Tumblr media
#6 - and finally, 'expert in his field, kind of an asshole, but hella breedable'. Most of my favorite characters are in this category... I don't know what that says about me.
Tumblr media
p.s. in case there’s any confusion with the old reblog tags, I’ve moved category #5 to #6 because I still wanted to end on it.
