Schniders in Stars Hollow Lenny arranging bouquets from flowers in his garden for his loved ones.

They eventually retire to Stars Hollow fully. Midge refuses to sell the brownstone in the city, but it's mostly for the kids and grandkids to use now.

This, of course, means that Lenny gets to tend to his garden all year round. Plants beets in the fall, and in the spring, by May, most everything is in bloom.

Probably a little too much this year, so Lenny clips and prunes and soon, the kitchen table is covered in Dahlia and tulips. Coneflower, lilies and marigolds, petunias and alium.

The roses won't pop for another month or so (in time for Midge's birthda), but there are plenty of beautiful flowers that aren't as well known to go around.

He settles a bunch into one of Midge's vases with some water and carries it into her office, settling it on the little coffee table in front of the couch she's sitting on as she takes a phone call. She beams up at him and tugs him down for a light peck, pulling away quickly. "Susie, I was not making out with Lenny."

"She was a little," he says into the phone.

"Stop trying to get me in trouble!"

He chuckles as he heads back to the kitchen. "Gonna drop off more flowers."

And he does.

The Dragonfly is busy this weekend, and Lorelai grins at him from behind the front desk after handing a couple from Milwaukee the key to their room.

"Hi, Stranger, Midge kick you out?" She teases.

"Not yet," Lenny chuckles. "I wonder when she'll get around to it. No, I come with a gift." He holds out a bunch of flowers, held together with a little hemp rope.

"Oh, wow," Lorelai marvels as she takes them. "These are amazing. Let me grab a vase out of storage, these are going right here at the desk."

He chuckles as she hops off and comes right back with the promised vase, a little water in the bottom. "Rory home? She can have one, too."

"No, Rory is still in New York," she tells him. "She'll be home next weekend."

"There are always more flowers," Lenny promises. "See you later, kid."

"Bye, Lenny, thank you!"

He waves her off and heads out.

He finds Liz at thr diner and hands her a batch, and she gasps, hugging them.

"I swear you're a whiz in that garden, Lenny. I don't know how you do it. I wind up killing all my flowers."

"Patience," he says. "Attention. It's like raising kids, but instead of being mouthy, flowers just wilt if they're pissy."

Liz laughs at that. "Don't get me started. Dula is four going on twenty-four, I swear."

"She's a little firecracker," Lenny agrees. "Speaking of mouthy, how is Jess?"

"Good, I think," Liz smiles. "He's been busy on that book tour, though. He's supposed to be back in another week or so."

"Yeah, he texted Midge before he left, but we haven't heard from him since," Lenny nods.

"He's fine," Luke tells them, bringing over a coffee cup and filling it for Lenny. "I annoyed him into calling me yesterday. He's in Raleigh. He'll be here next weekend after the tour wraps."

"My baby's coming home!" Liz crows. "I should cook him something special."

"You should not," Lenny tells her.

"Hey!"

He sips his coffee. "Buy him a nice sweater. For the love of God, do not cook."

"What he said," Luke agrees. "Don't I get flowers?"

"You don't own a vase," Lenny reminds him. "Until you buy one, you don't get flowers."

Babbette and Mory get a bunch. Miss Patty, too, against his better judgement. Taylor gets a few. Kirk is allergic to everything so he gets none. He drops a batch off with Jackson for him and Sookie.

He's tired when he gets home. Winded in the way that comes with old age. He blows out a breath and wanders around, finding Midge in the kitchen.

"How'd it go?" She asks.

"Fine. Rory and Jess will both be home next weekend," he informs her.

"I'll have to do up a nice dinner for them," Midgr grins.

"I know that grin, Mrs. Bruce."

Midge smirks. "Do you, Mr. Weissman?"

"Oh yes," Lenny nods. "That is a look much like your mother used to give when she thought she was being terribly clever about her matchmaking."

"I have no idea what you mean."

Lenny chuckles. "Of course you don't."

A Study of Squidward

Experiment 1: Squilvia

Squidward's first date "in a long time" -- it's not specified who he's dated before Squilvia, but I know most of us believe he dated Squilliam, but since we don't know that for certain, Squilvia is here at experiment 1.

Squilvia had a single date with Squidward and was only ever seen again on one Christmas promotion and disappeared into obscurity. She's never spoken about again so it's safe to assume that it was mutual that it just didn't work out. She's the only woman on this list who is actually a woman and actually had a date with Squidward.

Experiment 1 - failed.

Experiment 2: Patricia

This is Patrick.

There is literally no change in personality and the only difference is the hair and makeup. He doesn't even speak in a "girly" voice...it's just...his normal voice.

For absolutely no reason, everybody falls in love with "Patricia" ... I don't even know what to say here. Obviously Patrick wants nothing to do with Squidward OR Mr. Krabs romantically. He doesn't understand why they're being so nice to him.

Experiment 2 is an auto-fail.

Experiment 3: Petunia

Oh, Squidward, Squidward.

Immediately he is infatuated by this lady...but this lady is actually Plankton in disguise. Obviously Plankton is only interested in getting the Krabby Patty formula, and to an extent he did love his flower shop, but he was absolutely in no way going to ever reciprocate Squidward's feelings.

Squidward was about to ask this woman he barely knows to marry him, that's how hard and fast he fell without ever getting to know the real Petunia (which, obviously, doesn't exist).

Experiment 3 - failed.

Aside from Squilvia (who looks like him, and we all know how much Squidward loves himself), the other two infatuations he has are both thick women. He has a *type* apparently.

Unfortunately for him, neither one of them are actually women. But I know someone else who is "thick" and is also obsessed with him.

Now if only Squidward would get his head out of his own ass and realize how much SpongeBob really loves him, he might actually have a happy ending for himself. But our bi king needs to realize women...do not work out for him. Not even Squilvia.

To this day, I cannot forgive Denny's for making a Thing Burger as a promotion for the 2015 Fantastic Four film, not because the movie is bad, but because the burger itself is non-kosher. That's right, Ben Grimm can't eat his own burger!!

What kind of sick twisted diner makes a burger based on a famously Jewish comic book character that violates not one, but two dietary restrictions in the Jewish faith. Not even Yancy Street would pull a stunt this dirty!

Firstly, the burger includes bacon. Kashrut only permits the consumption of animals with divided hooves that chew their chud. As pigs do not chew their chud, they cannot be eaten.

Secondly, eating meat alongside dairy is not kosher. This is because of a Torah passage that states "Do not cook a kid in its mother's milk."

So how do we fix this revoltin' development? Removing the bacon is easy. You could even substitute it with turkey bacon if you so wish, but choosing between meat and cheese is tricky. Removing the meat takes away the... well... meat of the meal, but taking away the cheese removes the bun's Thing-like appearance, removing its identity as a Thing Burger and making it just another hearty meal.

There are two ways to go about this, which I shall dub the pro-meat method and the pro-cheese method. The ingredients in the official Denny's Thing Burger include burger buns, a beef patty, pork bacon, hash browns, cheese (inside and on the bun itself), egg, and Thing Sauce (spicy mayo). By sampling from this list, we can make a kosher thing burger.

My recipe for the Pro-Cheese burger is to cook your dough in the oven with shredded cheese on the top to create that rocky look. For the interior, I thought perhaps I could lean into the Thing's aesthetics by emphasizing the hash browns. In fact, if the potato slices are mixed with egg and flour and cooked on a pan, you just created a Hanukkah staple: Latkes! The fact Denny's thought to include hash browns but somehow didn't make it intentionally Jewish is an astounding missed opportunity. Slide some Latkes in-between the cheese bun, maybe drizzle some dill sauce, grind some pepper for extra kick, and you got yourself a weird variant of a Hanukkah dish. I wonder if Aunt Petunia would approve.

For the Pro-Meat burger, I thought maybe the Latkes themselves might be stable enough to use as a substitute for the buns, but in case you feel different, you can always have them inside the buns. If you choose to have standard buns, I recommend scoring the top before baking so that it looks all rocky. You could also do this for the pro cheese method if you so wish. As for the inside, go ham... literally! Get a nice beef patty, throw on some (turkey) bacon, a nice sunny side up egg, that spicy mayo, some ground up pepper, and you got yourself a hearty burger that Benjy is sure to enjoy. You could even substitute the patty for breaded chicken if you think it looks more Thing-like.

No matter what option you prefer, I hope that this reconciles the mistake Denny's made in constructing a burger Ben Grimm, let alone the jewish people wouldn't be able to eat. Maybe someday the Kosher Thing Burgers will outlive the half-assed film tie-in that inspired it.
