        he’s so tired of this---of feeling control slip through his fingers, dropping onto the ground and smashing into a thousand pieces he’ll never be able to put back together, even if he spends the rest of his career trying to do so. that’s what it feels like; every bullshit command, every pile of bureaucratic shit he has to wade through, it’s chipping pieces off him slowly. nate had such ideals, so many things he wanted to achieve, here. and he’s been left a pawn, barely managing to keep the bad things away from his guys, barely able to hold on.
