“my self-sufficiency will be the death of me” [timkon ficlet]
goooooood afternoon timkonners. Really wanted to get into the habit of writing a little bit everyday again, so I’m filling out some whumptober-adjacent prompts (courtesy of scealaiscoite). This may be eventually cross-posted to my ao3, who knows, this is mostly just to keep my writing skills in check after a really rough few months of work + to get me out of my writing slump on my larger fic projects. This has been very lightly edited, and is extremely unbeta’d. Anyways, enjoy! Prompt: blood swirling down a shower drain. Content warnings for light descriptions of a knife injury & medical treatment related to that.
The ceiling is that awful popcorn texture. It's yellowed over time. There's a spreading stain over corner, likely some water damage from the unit above. There's some rust at the corner of the shower curtain rod and some odd looking spots at the bottom of the flimsy plastic curtain that has him groaning because he's going to have to look into this, he lives here, other people live here, and clearly the landlord spruced up his apartment but not the others and this needs to be taken care of but it's another thing to take care of -
His breath catches in his throat, a barely held gasp just eeking out past his lips. Every time he tries to breathe low into his belly, his chest spasms. Bruised ribs, he catalogues. Another thing to take care of.
Tim's fingers shake over the left side of his chest, right above the torn parts of his uniform, right where his emergency beacon was slashed through. He lost the one on his wrist sometime between Falcone's latest hidden warehouse and the apartment building. If he reaches down to his boot, he can press the one still intact. He can press it, and someone will come and get him.
He can't move his hand.
Well - It's not that he can't. He's still got some feeling left, which is good. But he can't stop staring at the ceiling. The thought of even moving his head makes him feel so - so tired. It feels as if someone has scooped out his bones and filled him with dense liquid. He tries to will himself to move, to slam down on the emergency beacon and suffer through the indignity of having to be saved by Robin and sit through a thorough dissection of everything he did wrong tonight. He doesn't mind it so much anymore, really - but he's just - he's too tired. He's too tired.
When he closes his eyes, it feels good - the rest that calls to him feels like the kind after a particularly long day of running around as a kid. When you've probably spent too much time in the sun and your chest hurts, the phantom pain of deep laughter following you to your bed. He believes it, for a moment. That he's really just closing his eyes after playing too much and too long and his mom will be there in just a moment to brush his hair out of his eyes and tell him don't let the bed bugs -
He presses down on the knife wound along his abdomen to keep himself awake.
Only an inch deep, but three inches long - they got messy trying to pull it out, he thinks. Another wound. Another thing to take care of. Which he won't be able to take care of if he passes out in this dingy bathroom that's probably going to give him an infection.
His fingers feel cold. He can't tell if he's going into shock or if he's been sitting under the spray of the shower so long that the hot waters run out.
He can't die like this. Not like this. Lying in a mold covered bathroom, shredded to pieces. Not like this.
It's painful, it makes him flush with a deeply buried shame that he tried hard not to face - but he chokes out his name anyway.
"Superboy," he says. "Kon."
There's a moment - one painful, awful moment - where there is nothing but the sound of the shower and his own, ragged breathing. Then, somewhere further inside there's the sound of a window opening, the stumbling of leather boots against hardwood floor - and then Kon's there, right there next to him, and Tim has never felt so relieved and so ashamed at the same time.
"Shit," Kon says, holding Tim's face. He looks down at Tim's hands, shaking against the wound in his side, and follows the blood going down the shower drain. "Shit."
"Good t'see y'too." Tim mumbles.
Kon's staring - or at least, Tim thinks he is. He thinks time is slowing down, maybe. Between one blink and the next, Kon's face morphs from wide-eyed worry to a grim sort of determination. The grip on Tim's face tightens - not unkindly.
"Not funny, Tim," Kon says, lowly.
Tim just swallows, barely wincing at the acrid taste of copper on his tongue. He tilts his chin with what little energy he has, indicating his stomach.
"Knife wound," he says. "Bruised ribs. Gotta check for - for concussion -"
"Stop talking -"
"Need - stitches -"
"Stop talking."
Tim's mouth clicks shut. He feels something burn at his chest - not pain, but something more akin to anger flaring beneath his skin. The urge to crawl out of the tub, to rip away from Kon and get his own goddamn medical kit was making his stomach roll. But God, his bones were like lead and his head was so heavy - the overwhelming relief of being gathered up into Kon's arms was almost enough to distract him. Almost.
"I'm taking you back to your house -"
"Can't."
"Why?"
"Got - my own - my own place -"
Kon freezes as he leaves the old bathroom, pausing briefly to scrunch his eyes tight and mutter a small Jesus Christ before readjusting Tim in his hold, gently.
"You need help, Tim, and you've lost a lot of blood -"
"Not too much -"
"Tim -"
"Kon," Tim says, strained. "The longer we stand here arguing, the more blood I lose. Take me - take me back to my apartment."
Time really slows down then. Kon's bright, bright eyes bore into his, a completely open book. Tim can see the way he swallows down his words, the way his jaw twitches as he grinds his teeth - the way his eyes shine with worry. Tim holds his gaze, focusing on the pain blooming across his ribs in order to avoid thinking about just how much Kin's gaze unsettled something within him.
"You're gonna be the death of me," Kon mutters.
"Not if I die first," Tim says, softly. Kon doesn't laugh - doesn't so much as smirk. Then, he's bounding out the door faster than Tim could blink.
Tim feels a wave of vertigo and he does everything he can to stop the bile rising in his throat. He digs his nails into the worn leather of Kon's sleeve, groaning with his lips shut tight. Kon's thumb rubs a soft circle where he holds him - a gesture so gentle that it takes Tim by surprise. He doesn't get to relish in it for long before Kon's laying him against his new dining table; Tim mourns the clean wood. He'll be scraping out blood from the grooves for the next few months.
"My medkit -" Tim's hand reaches out, weakly. "Get me - needle -"
"Are you out of your mind?" Kon damn near shouts. "You're not sewing yourself up."
"I can and - I will -"
"No," Kon says firmly, hand wrapped around Tim's wrist. "Can you - can you just let someone help you for once?"
No - it's the reply right on the tip of his tongue. Help. There was a time when people surrounded Tim, when he could reach out a hand and find another reaching out to him. But the longer he does this, the more he loses, the more people start to disappear - the more that he finds that the only hands he has are his own. The hands that will stitch him up and prop him up straight, the ones that get things done.
But another, tiny part of him sighs. A little part of him sags with relief, maybe with exhaustion- because yes, he would like some help. His fingers are cold and cannot stop shaking and Kon is steady.
"Fine," Tim finally says. "Help me."
Kon smiles. That irritating, crooked grin lights up his face and Tim chest constricts at the familiarity of it.
“Was that so hard?” Kon says, a teasing lilt to his voice.
“Yes,” Tim groans.
Kon moves swiftly - more assured, more practiced than he had been months ago when he first had to deal with some bad scrapes while out on a mission with the team. His hands don’t flit about wildly, searching for something to make it better. He takes off his own gloves and washes his hands before cutting through the tightly woven Kevlar of Tim’s suit, gently washing the cut, and letting Tim dig crescent shaped divets into his bicep while he threaded Tim’s skin back together.
“You’ve gotta breathe, Tim - “
“I’m trying, asshole - “
“Don’t call the guy with the needle and thread an asshole, asshole - “
Tim barely notices that Kon has already snipped the medical thread and has started placing bandages across his side. Tim watches as he moves, quick, tearing medical tape and snipping bandages with determination, and then carefully placing them where Tim still bleeds. Tim’s mouth goes dry - he looks up at the ceiling instead.
“How’s your hearing? Seeing double?” Kon asks, flashing the little emergency flashlight in Tim’s eyes. Tim resists the urge to bat him away.
“Just fine,” Tim blinks. “God help me if I - if I ever have to deal with - two of you.”
“Twice the fun,” Kon remarks.
“Twice the headache,” Tim says, with little heat. “Kon - painkillers - “
Kon rattles a small bottle, labeled meticulously in Alfred’s familiar handwriting. “These ones?”
“Yes,” Tim says, breathlessly. He tries to put one hand under him, arm shaking with the effort to try and pull his own body weight up.
“Hold on - “
“I can - get up by myself - “
“Tim,” Kon says, warm hands curling around Tim’s arm. “Let me help you. Please.”
There’s an earnestness to Kon that is so disarming that it peels away the remaining resistance in Tim. He uses his last bits of energy to wrap an arm around Kon’s neck, a flush traveling across his cheeks as he mutters okay and lets himself be held again. This time, he lets himself melt a little further into Kon, pointedly ignoring the unfurling, winding feelings in his gut - he neatly packs that feeling away for later in the corner of his brain. He focuses on breathing, on the steady rhythm of Kon’s heartbeat, and the soothing hands that hold him.
He blinks rapidly, realizing that he’s been placed on his couch and that Kon has managed to rummage up the eye-sore of a blanket that Dick had given him as house-warming gift a while back. Kon’s in the kitchen, then suddenly by his side, waving a small glass of water and the painkillers in front of Tim.
“Drink up, Timmy,”
“Don’t call me Timmy,” Tim grumbles, and downs the pills and water in one swift movement.
When he sits back, it’s like every bit of adrenaline keeping him awake has left him. The last dredges of it disappear and all he can do is curl against the headrest, the scratchy, awful blanket giving him an odd sense of comfort. He blinks, slow, trying to get a good word out before sleep could take him. To tell Kon he’s got it handled, that he needs to report back to Dick about the stake-out going wrong - but he can’t. He just looks up at Kon, illuminated by the bright lights of Gotham from the window behind, and he feels a deep, deep ache in his sternum. A sudden urgency fills him - a worry. That when he wakes up, Kon will be gone and something about that makes Tim feel sick.
He moves his fingers slightly, flushing with embarrassment as he croaks out “Stay?”
Kon doesn’t hesitate. There’s barely enough time for a thought before Kon’s hand tangles with Tim’s, the rough pads of his thumbs, slowly becoming calloused from farm work, begins to rub against Tim’s knuckles. Tim’s breath catches in his throat.
“Of course,” Kon whispers. “You don’t even have to ask.”
Tim breathes out. “Oh.”
There’s a smile on Kon’s face - a little knowing, a little sad. Something childish blooms in Tim; he wants to reach out and hold his face, wants to pull at the edges of his cheeks until the sadness went away. But rest tugs at him, the exhaustion in his bones pulling him down, down, down until the feeling of Kon’s hand in his was a distant sensation, his last words something like out of a dream.
“I’ve got you, Tim. I’ve got you.”

Sea Cryptic! Danny AU- Pt. 7
[Pt.1] [Pt.2] [Pt.3] [Pt.4] [Pt.5] [Pt.6] [Pt.8] [Pt.9] [Pt.10]
“I’m having a child.”
Danny stared at Batman.
“…Uh, congrats?”
Batman whips out a stack of paper and a pen. “It’s you. Sign here and initial the highlighted spots.”
Danny instinctively, from years of dealing with Vlad, whacked the stack right out of Batman’s hands and into the bay. He doesn’t even feel bad about littering this time because, “Begone, fruitloop!”
Wait, no, that’s not what he meant.
“I mean- I have parents!”
“Not for long.” Batman muttered and then did a double take. “You have parents? How?”
Danny gasped, placing a hand on his chest to clutch his metaphorical pearls. He ignored Batman’s mutters. Everyone knows the vigilante has an adoption problem. At least, everyone who lived in Gotham did, as everyone who didn’t was somehow convinced that he “worked alone” or some bullshit like that. “Are you naturally this insensitive or were you dropped on your head as a baby? Obviously I had to come from somewhere.”
“They’re still… alive?”
“And kicking,” Danny said, inching away from yet another rich weird guy trying to adopt him. “Mostly the kicking part, though. He said, remembering the sparring sessions. His mom could kick his as six ways to Sunday with nothing but jiu-jitsu and still have time to work in the lab.
“I see.”
“I’m charging you extra for the emotional upheaval. I have trauma regarding rich people trying to adopt me.”
Batman sullenly handed over a thousand.
“Sweet. There’s a group of shades down here asking if you could find their murderer. Apparently the serial killer is still at large.” Danny pointed.
“Of course. Tell me everything.”
The adoption papers disappeared as Batman went into detective mode.
Danny shoved the cash into his glowing chest and breathed a sigh of relief. He needed to make rent this month so it was a windfall running into Batman.
——
“Hey, Tim?”
Tim woke up from his Power Nap. “Huh?”
“Phantom’s complaining that Batman kept trying to adopt him.”
Tim blinked. “Uh.. what does that have to do with me?”
Danny stared at him, a patiently amused smile on his face. “Just in case the rumor about the Wayne’s sugar-daddy-into the Bats was a thing. Other than that, we might have to confront Batman to get him off of Phantom’s back. ”
“You… want to confront Batman.”
“Hey, man, Phantom’s a friend and it’s ride or die.” Danny snickered. It was literally die, with his Phantom side of things. He held two fists up, and wound them, like Popeye right after eating spinach or something. “And if Batman bothers Phantom, we ride at dawn.”
“Batman doesn’t come out unless it’s dark, though? Or for the Justice League.” Tim grinned. He mentally classified Danny under his “to go to” list. That’s where Bart, Bernard, Cassie, Kon, and Garfield were. If he starts shit, he could count on them to have his back and cause even more shit. Danny, wanting to fistfight Bruce over the man making Phantom uncomfortable? He absolutely is making that list.
“Then we ride at, like, dusk. Or uh, like 10PM. I gotta get my beauty sleep.”
“You’ll definitely need it,” Tim inconspicuously texted the group chat, which quickly blew up.
“Shut up,” Danny playfully shoved Tim. “Wait, can Batman even legally adopt? Isn’t being a vigilante illegal? And how can he adopt someone dead?”
Tim dramatically flailed and splayed over Danny’s carpeted living room. “Dunno about his identity,” he lied to Danny, like a liar. “But Gotham has a bunch of laws for the undead/restored to life people so there’s probably enough gray space there.”
Danny spluttered. “You guys have undead friendly laws?”
“Yeah, geht do you think Grundy just chills out? Plus, we have like a minor resurrection event every few years. It usually doesn’t stick but sometimes it does. Bruce pushed for those laws when Jason came back to life, except he doesn’t actually want people to know he’s like, alive.”
“Jason died?” Danny blinked. Well, that would explain the vibes. “Huh. So what’s up with his rank vibes then?”
“Rank vibes?” Tim pressed record on his phone.
Danny nodded. “Yeah, you know how Phantom’s got like a really chill green vibe?” Inwardly, Danny snickered at his pun. Chill. Yeah, he meant that very literally. “Jason’s got kind of a rank green vibe. He’s kind of stinky? Definitely never introduce him to Phantom.” Danny’s senses got worse in his ghost form.
“Jason regularly showers, though?!”
“Not smell! Like, a spiritual smell?”
“You can smell souls?!” Tim sat up. “Bro, you’re a meta?!”
“Uh.” Danny hesitated. “Yeah. I can smell souls. It’s a thing. Everyone from my town can do it.”
“What?!” Tim paused. “Wait, can Phantom smell souls?”
“Yeah. We’re, uh, from the same town.”
“Danny, what the fuck?”
“Hey, don’t look at me like that, you’re the one with a soul-sick brother! Not to mention, you’re kinda stinky too!”
“Hey!”
“Soul-stinky nerd man!”
——
“I stink?!” Jason spluttered out, extremely offended.
“The Lazarus pits. He’s most likely smelling traces of Lazarus pit on you, you imbecile.”
“We need to speak to Phantom. This instant.”
“I dunno, B. Danny sounded like he was gonna break your face if you bothered Phantom anymore.” Dick snickered.
“Yeah,” Tim chimed in, from his seat in front of the Bat-computer. “He was pretty serious.”
“Are we just gonna glaze over the fact that they’re from the same town?!” Stephanie exclaimed, practicing her moves on a training dummy.
“How does that even work? What does that mean? I thought Phantom was an immortal?” Duke asked.
“We also can’t rule out time-travel.” Barbara slammed her baton into a training dummy, twisting her wheelchair in an agile maneuver that left the dummy on the floor.
“No bothering Phantom.” Cass proclaimed.
“That’s quite right. You all have a warm dinner sitting above your cave and should it remain uneaten, I assure you that sherbet Sunday and crêpe Tuesday shall be canceled.” Alfred stepped in. The Bats, threatened, scrambled to ditch their gear and go upstairs.

Father’s Day
@autistic-human’s post and @moonlightcycle571’s comment on said post were the inspiration for this one. I love dad Marvel soooooo much, cause I think Billy would try his best to be a good adult figure without even realizing it can come off as parental. He’d just be doing what he would’ve wanted someone to do for him, which was be there for whichever kid no matter what. So what happens when a bunch of angsty teens with trauma meet him? He’s obviously going to try his best to be there for them!
Like Kon, when he first met Marvel, he didn’t really know what to think of the man. He was nice. Almost overwhelmingly so. He also helps Kon with anything if he ever needs help. He’s also almost always around and is willing to talk about virtually anything with Kon too. And this isn’t just exclusive to him, but to everyone. (It makes him feel slightly queasy sometimes. He hasn’t realized what he’s feeling is jealousy whenever his parental figure’s attention is on another kid.) So that’s why when Father’s Day came around and M’gann suggested they all do something for Marvel, he was a little dumbfounded. One, because he just came to the realization that he thinks of Marvel as a kinda dad, and two, because what were they going to do? Marvel isn’t actually their dad, so what if the Captain finds it weird? Kon really doesn’t want to think about Cap finding all of this weird.
The YJ eventually decided to just get Cap a gift. They were all pretty sure that’s what you were supposed to give fathers. Now the question is: what to give him?
Marvel: *goes to Mount Justice to check in on the kids*
YJ: *All in the kitchen fighting about how to frost the cookies cause they all did it differently*
Marvel: *hears them and comes to the kitchen*
YJ: *doesn’t notice him*
Kon: *Does notice and picks up his batch of cookies and goes to Marvel* “Cap.” *presents cookies to Billy*
Marvel: “Huh?” *stares at cookies. Kon’s cookies are a bunch of mishapen blobs with smiley faces* “Are these for me?”
Kon: *nods head* “They’re you.”
Marvel: *takes a cookie with one of the biggest smiles Kon has ever seen on the man’s face* “This is amazing… thanks Kon!” *bites cookie* “They’re really good too!”
Kon: “Really?” *eyes shining at the praise*
Marvel: “Yeah!” *finishes cookie and is about to grab another one*
Other YJ members: *now notice Marvel and Kon* “Wait! Wait! Wait! Try mine next!” *they all proceed to take turns shoving cookies into Marvel’s hands*
Marvel: *eats them all and gives each of them stellar reviews*
About after thirty minutes of Marvel and the kids eating cookies…
Marvel: “What was all this for by the way?”
YJ: “Huh?”
Marvel: “What was all this for? I mean, it’s not my birthday, so…” *doesn’t know it’s Father’s Day*
YJ: “Oh uh… We just felt like it.”
Marvel: “Oh. Okay!” *just happy to gobble the last, remaining cookies* “By the way, this means a lot to me. Even if it was just a spur of the moment thing. I appreciate it.”
YJ: *all super duper uper happy he loves it but trying not to show it* “No problem.” (Spoiler: they’re not very good at hiding it.)
Then there’s Damian. He’s always had a love-hate relationship with Marvel’s happy go lucky, friendly attitude, but it sort of reminds him of Grayson so he’ll never admit it but it’s leaning more towards love. The man has also weirdly never once gotten mad at him, or at anyone as far as he can tell. He’s extremely patient, and the fact that Damian hasn’t pushed the limits of that patience yet is surprising to the young Wayne. The man also knows a surprising about of animal facts and lets him pet his tiger. So that’s another bonus. The man also doesn’t underestimate him solely based on the fact he’s a child. So, when the Father’s Day holiday rolls around, he decides he would reward Marvel for being an admittedly commendable person.
Marvel: *standing by the window of the Titan’s tower, looking at Jump City*
Damian: *appears from nowhere* “Captain.”
Marvel: *jumps before looking to Damian* “Yes, Robin?”
Damian: *holds up Alfred the Cat* “This is Alfred the Cat. I’m giving you the privilege to pet him just this once. Say hi, Alfred.”
Alfred the Cat: *meows*
Marvel: “Hi.” *little wave to Alfred* “Nice to meet you, Alfred.” *shakes Alfred’s little paw before petting him*
Damian: *lets Marvel get a single pet in before pulling Alfred away* “Alright, that’s enough.”
Marvel: “Oh- uh…” *smiles at Damian* “Thanks for letting me pet him, Robin.”
Damian: “Your welcome.” *nods at him before walking off to bring Alfred back to the manor*
Then there’s also Raven. She honestly had no intention of even thinking about the holiday, considering the fact her father is a demon that actively sucks and ruins her life. Then she saw Damian do his thing and after thinking about the Captain and how the man cares for her and her team members… she supposed he should get some type of reward. The man is extremely nice after all.
A little while after Damian’s departure…
Marvel: *back to looking out the window*
Raven: *also appears out of nowhere* “Marvel.”
Marvel: *jumps just like with Damian and looks to her* “Yes, Raven?”
Raven: *presents Marvel with a mini version of himself*
Mini Marvel: *waves to Billy*
Marvel: “Wha?” *bends down slightly to look at Mini Marvel with a confused smile* “Is that me?”
Raven: *nods head* “It’s a new spell I learned. I wanted to show you.”
Marvel: *pokes Mini Marvel in the stomach* “This is… Amazing!” *gives her a wide grin* “You’re amazing!”
Raven: *a little surprised she feels happy at the man’s approval but isn’t really hating* “Thanks.”
Marvel: “Actually, wait. Hold up!” *mutters a spell and in his hand spawns a Mini Raven. He places the Mini Raven in Raven’s palm with the Mini Marvel*
Mini Marvel: *fawning over Mini Raven*
Mini Raven: *blankly staring at Mini Marvel and lets it fawn*
Marvel: “And you’re saying you learned this spell on your own?” *looks away from the Minis and to Raven* “That’s awesome. You did a wonderful job.”
Raven: *doesn’t really know how to handle all the praise* “Thanks… I’m uh… I think I left the stove on.” *instead of heading to the kitchen, runs off to her room*
Marvel ended up later telling the other members of the JL how many gifts he’s gotten that day. They were a little confused and wondered how many kids Marvel could have. But no, they found out that a lot of their own kids think of him as a somewhat father. Also, a few of the adults might’ve thought about slipping Marvel gifts when the man wasn’t looking cause Billy being a dad isn’t just exclusive to the kids.

i genuinely believe that Bernard would not be jealous of Kon, even knowing damn well that he has a crush on Tim and that it's probably reciprocated.
Yes, Tim is his boyfriend but he knows that he is Robin and it's not difficult to understand who Kon is. If he can be patient and support of his hero life then he surely will accept the innegable bond that he shares with his team and Kon, in particularly.
When Tim let them meet for the first time, Kon is almost /offended/ because wtf? how dare him non see Kon as a threat?
It basically becomes a mission to make Bernard snap and to be close to Tim, closer than usual, but before Bernard could actually do something, Tim would be the one to stop him or even frown and glare at Kon because he's acting weird and even rudely to his boyfriend. His best friend should understand what being in a relationship mean, it's not nice what he's doing.
So, it's Kon who snaps and asks Bernard what's his problem??? why r u not jealous? you don't care enough to be?
but it's obviously impossible, you can see the devotion in every glance he shares with Tim.
Bernard simply says what he thinks: that of course he's jealous, a part of him will always be, but he'd never undermine how important Kon is to Tim, too. He'd never make him cease the friendship or even change it, it'd be unfair to Tim and himself. He wants a relationship with Tim because Tim wants to stay with him, not because he scares away the competition or get mads at his past.
and Tim? Tim falls a bit more in love with him, feeling almost guilty for being attracted to Kon.
but Kon? Kon is suddenly breathless and confused and wtf, why is his crush's boyfriend so hot? what is happening?
#They'll get together at some point but i need them to sweat before#and yes bernard knew what was kon doing and he was having fun in not giving a reaction and watching kon boils in irritation#he is not a saint#but really he's fine#plus kon is hot too and his boyfriend is already a bit in love with him too#let Bernard have his fun#dc comics#bernard x kon#kon x bernard#bernard x tim#timbern#tim x bernard#konber#timber#timbernkon#berkon#dcu

WIP excerpt behind the cut for Derpsheep; obligatory sugar baby Kon. (( chrono || non-chrono ))
Kon laughs sheepishly, shakes his head, and then leans down and presses a kiss against the corner of his mouth. Tim boils alive. Like. Just a little. Then Kon straightens back up and gives him another grin before looking back down to the bag and digging into it. He comes up with the chocolates first, since they’re what Tim put on top, and grins wider again at the sight of them.
“Dude, how much are you paying in shipping?” he asks with a laugh, shaking his head again.
“Not that much,” Tim lies. It wouldn’t have been that bad if he hadn’t sprung for expedited, so he figures that counts as true. Like, arguably. From a certain point of view or whatever.
Look, he’s spent more on less important things.
Kon laughs again, then puts the chocolates in his coat pocket and pulls out the jewelry box, inspecting it curiously before flipping it open.
“Oh, sick,” he says, looking delighted, which makes Tim feel as good as nailing a landing on the edge of a skyscraper, and then frowns again. “But how much was–”
“You can’t tell me not to buy you things anymore,” Tim interrupts him as politely as he can. Kon pauses, then flushes again and ducks his head a little, smiling helplessly.
“Okay,” he says, then bites his lip and stares down at the bag. “Um . . .”
“Yes?” Tim asks.
“I can kinda, uh . . .” Kon trails off, then looks embarrassed. “I mean, it feels like . . .”
Right, Tim thinks. TTK probably does take away some of the element of surprise from unwrapping presents.
“It’s fine if you don’t like it,” he says. “I just found, well . . . an option that wouldn’t wilt over dinner.”
Kon looks very embarrassed.
“You really didn’t have to,” he says, a little stilted. “I mean–you already . . .”
Tim tilts his head. Patiently puts on what he’s decided to make his “you can’t tell me not to buy you things anymore” face.
Kon turns red again, then pockets the jewelry box with the chocolates before pulling out the last gift to look at too. He opens the box gingerly, and stares into it for a long moment before taking the actual gift out.
Tim really hopes he likes it.
“You really didn’t have to,” Kon repeats as he turns it by the stem, his face still all flushed and his eyes and voice both just barely soft.
It’s a slender little branch of blue orchids, all shiny and pretty. The company that makes them lacquers real flowers and then accents them in gold. So it’s still obviously an actual flower with the petals all visible under the lacquer, but the stems are gold-plated and the petals are edged in more gold, and the flowers themselves are preserved by the lacquer, so . . . yeah.
He could’ve waited for the cul-de-sac and just started giving Kon fresh flowers like he’d originally planned, Tim guesses, but he’d stumbled across the site while looking for gift ideas and kinda just . . . gone from there, pretty much. He’d actually seen roses first, but the orchids had felt a little more . . . creative, maybe? And likelier to be to Kon’s tastes, given how obviously fondly he remembers Hawaii–and misses it, maybe, though that might be assuming a little much on Tim’s part.
Even if it, unfortunately, doesn't miss him.
It’s just . . . a hypothesis, really, that Kon misses Hawaii. Just going by certain things Kon’s been willing to say and show in front of Tim Drake, and hasn’t been willing to say or show in front of Robin or the team.
So when Tim had seen the orchids, well . . .
Blue orchids are a rarer color, apparently, and he’d just thought–well, Kon’s eyes are blue, and so is a significant percentage of his suit. And so is, obviously, the sky he flies in, and the water he might miss. And blue orchids are supposed to be symbols of rarity and uniqueness, so, uh–maybe it’s a bit much, but he’d just thought . . .
Kon clearly wants to be seen as someone unique and individual, and clearly deserves to be, so . . . yeah. Well.
It’d just fit, he’d thought.
They’re supposed to represent sincerity, too, but that’s a whole other thing.

The Office but it's the Batfamily.
Bernard (To the camera): I think Bruce hates me.

Bruce (to the camera): I am very glad Tim, found himself dating someone. I don't think there's someone who would ever be enough to any of my children.
Bruce: But he is happy. So I am happy as well.
---
Bernard, invited over to dinner: That's. . . Um, A very nice mansion you have here sir. Really big. Big enough to hide an secret passage to clones but–
Tim, gesturing to him to shut the fuck up: HAHAHAHA ISN'T HE FUNNY?! (whispering) ᴮᵉʳⁿᵃʳᵈ ᴵ ˢʷᵉᵃʳ ᵗᵒ ᵍᵒᵈ.
Bernard: WhichI'mnotimplyingyoudoanyway. But– IT'S NICE. Really nice. Thanks for uh inviting. . . Me.
Bruce, glaring: Hn.
---
Bruce (to the camera): Dick told me to make a "chit-chat". Be sure that our guest felt welcomed.
---
Bruce (to Bernard): Did you gave it a thought about your internship yet? When I started medical school I had a great interest on how Gotham's Hospital deals with post mortem patients.
Bernard:
---
Bruce (to the camera): I tried to find a common ground to make conversation. We both had similar majors, even though I've drop out
Bruce: I'm glad it was enough for a good starter.
---
Bernard (to the camera horrified): He wants me dead.
---
Dick (to the camera): HOW WOULD I KNOW HE WOULD PULL UP THE SERIAL KILLER TALK??–
---
Steph (to the camera): There's something really uncanny in seen it happen to another person.
Steph: And also really fucking funny too.
---
Kory (to the camera): The first time I got there I'm pretty sure was the time he made a contingency plan for me.
Kory: Which is cute. He thinking it would work but– Yeah.
---
Barbara (to the camera): Me and Dick? Oh he stopped talking to me for several weeks.
Barbara: When he did, he said "You are making a mistake".
Barbara:
Barbara: Don't you hate when he is right?
---
Kon (to the camera): I wasn't aloud to enter the house– I when I dated Cass, so–
Kon: Not that stopped me. But it still hurts.
---
Cass (to the camera), shrugging: I liked his piercings.
---
Bernard: . . . I didn't– Yet. No sir. I'm just, huh. . . Going with the flow?
Bruce: That's unfortunate. It's really important to always have a plan.
Bernard (gulps): You think?
Bruce: Yes. You never know what might happens next.
---
Damian (to the camera): It was the best dinner I've ever attended in this house.
---
Tim (to the camera): *Loud sight* I don't know what I was expecting.
---
Jason (to the camera): Are we really just going to pass on how his boyfriend looks like a knock off Scooby-doo member?
Jason: Like he is rocking a StarStruck haircut– And we just?– Okay.
---
Dick (to the camera): I mean it's not like Bruce is doing on purpose right?
---
Bruce, grinning to the camera: Hn.
---
Duke (to the camera): Oh he's absolutely doing on purpose.

please i am frothing at the mouth I NEED to hear your take on how the bats find out about JJ and Tim losing his wing in the Wingless Wing AU and how they react.
please brucewaynehater101 my lord and savior give me the angst i so desperately crave
Of course! With praise like that, how could I refuse.
I hope you enjoy the angst :D
Here's the post in reference for anyone unfamiliar.
Alright. In that post, I mentioned they find out at the same time they find out about Tim's missing spleen. We'll call that the funny path.
Ye asked for angst, though. Here's some delicious angst:
TW: JJ, wing removal, brief mentions of anti-hybrid sentiments, mentions of trafficking/selling body parts
Tim's back constantly aches. It's been years, but he can still feel the harsh hacking into his shoulder blades as his wings were removed. He can't bring himself to look at the jagged lines in his back.
When Bart saw the then raised pink scars, his face morphed into grim understanding. With careful movements, he slowly got Robin used to pressure and hands on his back. It took months for every small step forward, but the speedster was patient. He was casual and never drew attention to the small gestures. He analyzed the subtle shifts in Tim's body and backed off without being asked.
The rest of YJ eventually caught on as well. When Tim was finally able to have people's palms upon his back, Kon, Cassie, and Cissie would bicker about scar tissue massages. Eventually, it became a team bonding activity to help others with their pain (whether through massages, offering heat/ice, or moral support).
When Tim gained a gnarly gash upon his throat, the same careful process occurred again.
YJ was broken up after Tim returned with a scar upon his abdomen, but Bart, Kon, and Cassie still helped with his healing process as he did for them. They supported each other through every scar, visible or not.
When Tim first got the scars, he spent a year teaching the muscles on his back how to work properly. He added exercises, stretches, compression, and heat packs to his daily routine. It was insanely difficult to research and experiment by himself, but he managed. By the time he offered himself up as Robin, he already had strong arm and back muscles. They weren't enough for Robin, but they worked.
While Tim was Robin, he took extra care not to get damaged on his back. He lied and hid any injuries he did obtain, often seeking out YJ for help instead (after they reach that point of trust). This process worked for years. There were a few close calls, but Tim has called Kon in extreme cases.
At first, Tim didn't want anyone near his back. He hid his scars from the batfam because of his trauma and his internalized anti-hybrid sentiments (he knew most of the Waynes were hybrids, but he also thought they would kick him out if they knew he was too. Just the horrid stuff his parents spouted and conditioned learning). Eventually, as he grew closer to YJ and more comfortable in his skin, he still hid from the Waynes.
He considered telling Dick a bunch of times, but everyone else didn't foster a relationship with him where he felt comfortable. Cass knew, but she also isn't a hybrid.
There's a ton of factors in play for why Tim never told them.
When Tim gets fired from Robin, it's agonizing. He created fake wings just to maintain that role.
In his desolation, he comes to the realization that he can change his wings. Instead of the bird ones Robin has always had (at least until Damian [which is another point of contention]), Tim can have back his dragon ones. They'll be fake, but some part of him aches to have wings resembling his old ones.
Dragon wings are rare, and this causes some tension between Tim and his family when he returns. Out of all the wings he chose to fashion, why did he choose the rare, highly sought-after ones? To their knowledge, he isn't even a hybrid. They trust Tim, obviously, but him choosing dragon wings doesn't help their already strained relationships with him.
Jason especially, as someone whose had to take down a fuck ton of hybrid trafficking rings or underground selling of hybrid parts, has issues with Tim choosing dragon wings.
To prove a point, Jason chats about a pair of dragon wings that keeps getting sold around the black market. It's been years of Red Hood chasing these wings down to try to stop them from being passed around. He wants to honor them by giving them a proper burial.
One of the reasons Jason is so hung up about them is that they are so so small. They obviously came from a child.
Tim turns pale. Jason thinks that Tim finally realizes the error in his ways until the teen asks Jason to describe them.
Hood is pissed as fuck that Tim wants descriptions of the wings and initially misunderstands.
Then he notes the way Tim's arms stop in an aborted movement to wrap around himself. He catches the paleness to his face, the trembling of lips, and the hunted look in his eyes.
Jason hesitantly answers.
Tim collapses to his knees and throws up.
No one else in the family was there for this interaction. However, they see the effects.
Jason no longer berates Tim (particularly about the dragon wings).
Joker, the next time he escapes, loses a leg.
Jason and Tim hang out more with the older being more affectionate and mother henning.
#tim drake#thank you for the ask!!!!#dc universe#dc au#jason todd#yes the joker sold tim's wings for some pocket change

Oooh, Double Kryptonian AU is super interesting! Does Clark get them all somewhere safe? Maybe the Kent farm so Ma and Pa can look after them?
Dyam is already asleep, breathing softly where he's curled up in a hay bale and a sleeping bag. He's still easily swayed to sleep most of the time, his energy wanes much faster than his brothers and father, his body is trying to catch up to itself while it heals. Jon sleeps next to him, simply always eager for a nap.
Dic sits close to the fire, watching the flames and the sky all at once, his long hair pulled up and back and out of his face, the once greasy strands now cleaned with Martha's simple soaps, there's a kind of peace to him, listening to the way Kara talks his ear off about the teenage hero's their own age.
Jae is the quietest, he normally is, reading a book with his back to the fire so he can see the words on the page, his hair is curling around his mask, nobody on earth had seen the boy without it yet. There's a barn cat that's curled around the old camping chair that Jae occupies, purring up a storm and occasionally moving when one side of it's black fur gets too hot.
Te however, is pulled up on an old log that never got cut, holding a stick and asking Kon to explain himself one more time.
"It's not hard." Kon explains, patient and smiling. "It's just a kind of food. You like sweet things." Te scrunches his nose up, his own long hair is not nearly as neat as his brothers so it falls down around his hears and chin. His pale eyes watch the chocolate bar like it will bite him.
"I'll go first." Kon stabs a jumbo marshmallow through the stick he's holding, grabbed perfectly out of a tree this morning in preparation of tonight's main event. "It's easy to do, there's no wrong way to do it. You burn the sugar, you put it on the chocolate. You sandwich it in between graham crackers."
"The Google says that it has to be gold." Te's English words aren't as smooth as when he speaks his native language, but he's been much better at learning English than Kon has been at learning Kryptonian. "You say it needs to be burn. What is correct?"
"There's no wrong way to do it, buddy." Kon laughs, "Try it how you saw it on google first though, okay?"
Te nods, once, and copies Kon motion, spearing his own puffy marshmallow and sticking it much farther than Kon's reckless sort of arsonist approach.
They roast their food, smelling the sweetness burn over the fire, hearing the sounds of family, the night air, and they concentrate.
Kon goes through three s'mores by the time Te is finished with his first, the golden crust cracks when Kon helps Te place it down in between dutch chocolate and thickly covered homemade crackers.
Te's first bite is like a revelation.

a little bbts wip wednesday!
The first time he truly woke up, Kon remembers panicking; he remembers opening his eyes to see everything was all white and silver, sleek and sterile, and his mind fritzed and went lab lab lab until a blur of warm colors bloomed above him and someone said, “Kon, you’re okay. You’re at the fortress. Everyone’s safe.” The words repeated in a patient loop until Kon could place Clark’s voice. Could recognize the weight of a hand on his shoulder. Clark wasn’t any less blurry by then, which was unsettling, but Kon finally dragged a full breath through his lungs. “Clark,” he’d said, voice cracking right in half. Clark stopped his mantra, his figure shifting a bit. “Kon,” he murmured. “Hey, bud. There you are.”

Cass found you healing. There was something about you that healed a part of her that nobody else ever could. Maybe it was her mummy issues, or maybe it was genuinely your loving personality; either way, it didn't matter. You were soothing and patient with her. You even taught her how to speak, read, and write.
She came to the startling realisation she loved you at her family Christmas gathering. You weren't just a friend. You had stopped being a friend in her mind long ago, but she never addressed those feelings. It was safer to keep it all bottled up. She would come back to it another day, like rejecting a phone update until it finally automatically updates. She'll deal with it eventually.
Well, eventually happened.
It started when Steph and Babs both made a joke about the two of you being a lesbian couple. Cass and you both froze in place. Neither of you knew what to do, but your gay panic barrelled through you like a gun to your head.
You had quickly signed something Cass couldn't catch to Steph, who paled and also began to slightly panic. What started as an innocent joke suddenly became a massive plot twist between the two.
Steph. Was. Mortified. She would later brag she is the reason you two got together and that she saw it all along (falsely, as well), but that moment had her horrified. She did not anticipate that she would ever have to deal with this being a possibility. Girls are always close. Why would you two be any different?
She had to wheel Babs far, far away, and have a panicked conversation, which Helena joined in as well with wide eyes.
Barbara was on the gay train immediately and was coming up with plans and bouncing ideas off of the other girls. What do they do? Does Cass know? Is Cass gay? Their heads were spinning. She hadn't considered that any of them could be gay. Well, except Tim, but his relationship with Kon has been so well-established that they don't feel like a gay couple anymore.
Helena "what do you mean she's gay" Wayne was floored. Now she was invested. She needed to study you both before deciding if this was an actual thing yet or not.
The girls all watched you two carefully. Tim joined in quickly as he understood and also became invested. He dragged Kon into it, too, but told him to let the detectives work after Kon complained and told them to leave you two alone.
You tried to act oblivious to their obvious growing group staring you both down. Not cool, Steph.
You glared at Steph, who looked away but looked back again once your gaze was back on Cass. Your gaze softened as you looked at Cass. Your sweet, beautiful, best friend. You'd give anything for her.
Cass was incredibly confused, but she was happy. She wanted to cuddle on the coach, and you laughed your agreement. This was the moment she knew she had feelings for you: cuddling on the coach, watching a terrible Christmas movie, and having hushed conversations with you. You both had content smiles on your faces.
She had blushed hard when you kissed her forehead, but she looked at you like Cupid just hit her with an arrow, and you looked at her like she held your heart in her hands.
The girls (plus Tim and an uninterested Kon) needed to strike. How? Mistletoe? There was no guarantee you wouldn't cop-out and kiss her cheek. They didn't know. They asked Tim how he managed to date Kon, and he shrugged,
"I decided we're dating one day, and then we started dating. I suspect M'gann did something, but I don't know."
Kon shook his head, but he didn't know either, so he let Tim's explanation go by without comment. Tim gave a thoughtful expression. He didn't know what they should do. Kon said plainly,
"We could tell Jason to force them to kiss."
Jason narrowed his eyes at the group. He heard his name amongst the growing group of siblings despite being on the other side of the room.
"What are you idiots scheming?"
He actively had to walk past you and Cass to join the group, but as he passed, he, too, noticed the cuddling duo. He stared for a moment before you tell him to fuck off and he heads back to his scheming siblings.
"We're trying to get these two together. Can you help us?"
Jason crossed his arms while casting his gaze back to you both. He took note how at peace Cass seemed in your arms. She seemed serene and the way she looked at you... Well, it looks like she's in love.
Jason gave a resigned sigh. Even he can see the clear love and devotion.
"What do you need me to do?"
He tried to look disgruntled, but he couldn't hide how curious he was. He watched his siblings carefully. What are they thinking?
"It's not a good idea. Kon wanted to make you force them to kiss. He doesn't trust his superstrength."
Kon shrugged. He's not the brains when it comes to human interactions. Tim and him are both awkward and he struggles with what's normal still.
They watched Cass giggle as you rolled her on top of you for her to sleep. You smiled fondly and gave her a quick forehead kiss. She blushed with a grin on her face. Friends kiss, right? You run your hands along her back and whisper to her,
"I got you."
The evening was surprisingly quiet. Suspiciously quiet. Your eyes landed on the group gathering and narrowed in suspicion. Almost everyone was gathered now and whispering with quick glances your way.
Cass felt so at ease. It was like her heart beat your name. She did consider that you might be more than a friend, but she didn't know how you felt. Sure, you kissed her and cuddled her whenever she asked and you were always respectful by asking before touching her, but you were so close that it makes sense how you'd act. She said in a small voice,
"I have a question."
She took a deep breath to steady her voice, burying her face in your neck. She doesn't want to see your face when you end the friendship.
"Are we... more than friends?"
The silence she received concerned her. She pulled away and looked at you anxiously. After another pause, you asked,
"Would you want to be more than friends?"
Cass nodded. She isn't sure she'd ever survive without your soft forehead kisses and cuddling feels so right. You smiled at her and said in a cheeky tone,
"I guess we're dating then, Miss Cain."
Cass immediately kissed you. You were her salvation and her inner peace. It felt amazing to kiss you like girlfriends. It felt like she could fully relax now that the uncertainty was removed.
The kiss was long and full of love. It spoke all the words she never said and all the pining you both had for each other.
When you pulled back, you both giggled. Your hushed confession of love was for only her ears, but that didn't stop the rest of them trying to listen.
Cass was equally quiet as she whispered to you,
"I love you. You're my saviour."
You kissed her again and raised your middle finger to the group you knew were watching. You love this woman with everything in your heart.
Dick had no clue. He came out from the kitchen with Alfred and both men stopped as they saw the scene. You and Cass kissing, a large group trying (and failing) to pretend they aren't watching. You gave them the middle finger after a while of staring and a couple of photos taken.
Alfred looked relieved, but Dick felt betrayed. Cass never told him she's gay. He's the first one everyone goes to for their problems and secrets. He knew Tim was bisexual long before everybody else, he knows Jason reads fanfiction (he snooped on his phone and found Wattpad downloaded), he knows Damian has hidden a pet fox in his room, he knows everything about everyone except Cass. Cass never went to him, and she rarely caused trouble (that she gets caught doing). Why didn't she want to tell him she's gay? Did she not know until you?
Bruce came down the stairs and also took in the scene. He had a feeling he had more gay kids. He wasn't sure who it was, but it makes sense that it would be Cass. She kept all her cards to her chest, only revealing things as needed. He should have seen it sooner.
Neither of you cared what the family thought. It was only putting a label on mutual feelings that were ignored for far too long.

Batclan and Catband (part 2)
> previous part
> next part
.・゜-: ✧ :-
Dinner ended up a relatively calm affair, or as calm as it can be with the batclan and the cat catband in one place.
"Where is elle actually?" Selina asks, leaning on the table with a grin.
"With her aunty harley and pam," he answers, phone in hand. "They're bringing her over soon, tho."
Dick, sitting opposite of Danny, perks up at that. "Your daughter, right? How old is she?"
The teen practically glows at the question, proud and not far from showing it.
"Become 2 recently! A gremlin in sheep clothes, truly. She knows how to get what she wants, a habit learned from her glam glam." At the last words, he gives catwoman the stink eye, huffing when she laughs at him.
"I have been wondering, how old are you, danny? If you don't mind." Bruce has an easygoing smile on, but Danny knows that glint in his eyes.
"Also freshly turned 18."
Both Selina and Danny watch the other man carefully, one hiding her sharp stare, the other openly showing it.
"Isn't that a bit young to become a single parent?" The man asks in concern, no matter he should be with emotions, mother and son recognise the tone of worry and relax slightly.
"Her circumstances of appearing in our life is not much to be desired. However, we are very happy with her joining our little family at that time."
Danny speaks fondly, smiling as he recalls the moments. "Selina helped immensely when needed and didn't shy from showering the little gremlin in love"
While the batclan would have loved to continue the conversation, Alfred appeared with a gentle smile.
"Master Danny, there is a guest waiting patiently at the front door for you, I'm afraid she might just run off with no one watching." He gives a very amused look at the members of the table.
He shoots out of his chair, letting the butler lead him out and about.
Once the teen is gone, does Bruce straighten his form and look at selina.
"What about the mother? Is there anything—"
"I'll stop you right there, bat dear." She holds up her hand, giving a sharp smile.
"While I'd rather not talk behind Danny's back like this," she gives the table a look, noting that every member seems to be in their vigilante persona.
"Elle doesn't have a mother, I won't explain any details without Danny's consent, but this is more of a Kon-El situation."
(Bruce, in particular, doesn't like how that info makes everything else snap into place, and the final picture isn't much better.)
"Kon-El situation– isn't she a toddler??"
"Why would anyone go for danny??"
"Was it Lex Luthor–?!"
Their questions were silenced by the sound of tiny footsteps running to the door and swinging it open with no grace.
The tiny being runs around the table, peeks over it to see where a certain woman is located at and sprint to her lap.
The father of said being isn't far from her, making sure she doesn't trip nor fall. Alfred closes the doors and flawlessly slips next to Bruce, the amused smile very much still present.
"Glam glam!" The tiny girl squeals excited, getting pulled up and seated, just in sight of everyone else.
She is like a carbon copy of her father, minus the gender, but at the stares she becomes quite shy, very endearing.
Danny sits next to them, grin on his face and gesturing to the batclan.
"Wanna meet your uncles and aunts, elle darling?"

Something something, Bruce accidentally keeps adopting his friends' wards. It doesn't sit well with his kids.
Diana's been training Yara for a little over a year. She's scrappy, brave, and unafraid to stand up for herself against the world. She reminds Bruce of a dearly beloved Ghost, and even dearer son.
" Oh wow. You're, uh. You're Batman. Love your work. I mean, Princess Di says you should take it easier since mortals don't fight gods, but it's so cool to me that you do. My mom died too! ...Sorry. Can you sign my pegasus?"
"...For?"
" Jerry. I mean, -- Yara! Sorry."
" Meeting new people isn't exactly my forte. It's fine. Is my training plan working for you? We can adjust it together."
"Oh! Well, I have some cool ideas,-"
For some, emotion gets lost when it comes to Batman. They see a wall of stone and tragedy, nothing beyond a twitch of lips reminding them there's a man wearing the cowl, not the other way around.
Dick's mouth is hanging open as he watches the blank expression on Bruce's face, patient with the excitable rambling in front of him. He rarely looks so happy on patrol.
"He smiled at her!"
Damian is very stubborn. He just won't accept it. Not even with the evidence of Diana's student taking a stream of selfies with his Baba, where he even smiles in one of them!
" Don't be ridiculous, Grayson. That's reaching a new low of stupid, even for you."
" Okay, one. I'm a very capable detective who thought YOU the robin ways. If I'm an idiot, you're an idiot."
" ...TT."
" Second... It wouldn't hurt to be home more often. I think he's lonely."
Damian frowns, " Baba deserves better than pity scraps. And you deserve better than forcing yourself to be here when you're not ready. It's unfair to you both."
"...Maybe I'm not an idiot after all."
The real challenge? The superboys.
"It's not that serious, Dames."
" Not that serious?!" Damian hisses when he's sad, it's a well known fact, " He put MY stickers on your bandages. You don't even NEED bandages!"
Jon shrugs, maybe, perhaps, intentionally flaunting the pink dragon stickers on his wrist. Accepting to arm wrestle Cass had been a bad idea, " It's a nice gesture."
Damian points a finger at him, then calms himself with a hollow breath, " I'm going to walk away. My therapist would be extremely proud of me."
But the bets were off when Jason visited.
"...What's your boy toy doing in my room?"
Tim drags a hand over his face as Kon whistles a marry tune, lounged comfortably on Jason's bed like a spoiled cat, " Dad Invited him over for dinner."
" I just figured it'd be nice to settle in! Since I'll be moving in soon and all," Kon smiles very smugly, " Bruce needs someone around since you just hate being here so much. You don't mind, right?"
" You know," Tim figures he should at least try to stop the slaughter, " I think Alfred's cookies are done. Let's go check."
Jason's radiating murder, " I think it's time for you to go home."
" Oh, I'd really love to see you make me."
Tim discovers Kon is immune to bullets, but not to being crashed through a wall.
