It breaks my heart to know that you just don't know something until you know it. It sickens me to the Core... I mean stomach-turning sickness in my gut that I did not know this years ago. Anyone who knows the road I've had to travel with my son understands this. I know that my mother always says when you know better you do better but this doesn't help with the overwhelming guilt that I feel for vaccinating my children years ago. It hurts because I TRULY thought I was doing what was best for them. When my oldest daughter was born chicken pox vaccinations were in the test adinistering phase (per her pediatrician). I remember her doctor telling me this was the best thing for her. Me as a young mother, only 20, believed him and thought I was ahead-of-the-curve in creating a healthy life for my child... Thank goodness I had the desire to #breastfeed although that WAS NOT the popular thing to do as a young mother back then... actually with my baby face I would have probably gotten less nasty looks if I were having sex in public. Now we are all just on the path to #Healing... Me from #guilt... Resolving Poverty

Working at The Haven shelter, we run low on t-shirts for those in need at times (especially during the summer️). Initially curious to understand more about homelessness and poverty in general, I created the website [ResolvingPoverty.com] to inform and share the wealth of knowledge I discovered having looked into the topic myself and the causes, the realities, and realistically viable solutions via the most optimal means presented by researchers and experts on the topic of homelessness and poverty at large.

Following the creation of the site, the idea to create a logo, manufacture t-shirts, and provide them to guests at the shelter crossed my mind as an insightful and worthwhile project to undertake. I proceeded to order 32 shirts @alliedshirts to give to our guests at The Haven for them to wear. The idea is that when any person living on the “streets” wears one of these t-shirts/sweaters/hoodies,  curious eyes will pay notice and hopefully be intrigued enough to visit the website (“a homeless person wearing a “resolving poverty” shirt... let me check this out.”). 

The homeless individuals themselves, wearing the shirt, indirectly become an advocate of their own cause for betterment. This will lead the general public toward learning more about homelessness and all that it entails from a more realistic, empathetic, and pragmatic viewpoint based on primary & secondary source-research by 100+ authorities on the subject, with a “How You Can Help” call-to-action link should readers be inspired to contribute their time, money, or supplies to the cause of resolving homelessness and alleviating poverty by helping guests in need at The Haven.

1) A FREE SHIRT FOR THE HOMELESS. 

2) A PUBLIC SCHOOLING ON THE CAUSES/EFFECTS/SOLUTIONS OF HOMELESSNESS AND POVERTY IN AMERICA AND WORLDWIDE (HISTORICALLY AND PRESENT-DAY). 

3) THE OPPORTUNITY TO HELP THOSE MOST VULNERABLE AND IN NEED SHOULD ONE WISH TO CONTRIBUTE TIME / SUPPLIES / FINANCIAL CAPITAL.

My goal with Resolving Poverty is to clothe the homeless whilst advocating for their cause, by making them indirect advocates - fashion activists, for the improvement of their condition, bridging the gap between homelessness-to-housed, benefiting all. to leave the world a little bit better by a redeemed social condition.
