i knew nothing about warhammer, i half-expected the game to be somehow too lore dense for me to properly enjoy but i'm honestly just fascinated. i'm only some 30hours in and in act 2, but i really don't know what could happen to make me dislike it

pathfinder:WOTR and kingmaker are also CRPGs with way better combat and more robust magic systems than both bg3 and Bioware games and way more extensive lore and with lots of romanceable companions, it just is more complicated and lacks the fancy cinematics. they're different products. it's fine that theyre different products. They're all crpgs but they're all taking aim at different things and they always *have* broski

also "such in depth character customization" my ass please stop saying this until there's sliders. Like actual sliders, not 3d scanned presets to flip through like Divinity has always had 😤. a 4kHD game capable of good fabric and hair physics and a big color palette with a lot of armor choices =/= an in depth character customization. they're different things. just hold them in different hands. Sure bg3 is pretty! your characters are all lovely! I can see the preset faces tho 🙃 it's hard personally not to feel like they're all the same actress in a different wig and that's not what I want out of "complete character customization"

I'm not saying lower expectations for da4, just that I personally do not want da4 to be bg3 and I prefer them to be very separate products *because they are* and always have been, and saying bg3 being good will mean you're disappointed by anything Bioware puts out is very dumb imo. Seems like you probably were one of the people who was gonna hate da4 on release anyway.

Okay lads, starting act 3 of bg3 and I have, ah, actual complaints.

Jk Simmons wasn’t great. I hate it when games get some big name movie actor and uh, they just don’t fit. Every time he spoke it was super rough, especially in scenes with some of the better voice actors. Dude just…didn’t emote when it made sense.

The plot got too weird, way too fast. I know I was just all like “uh it’s not weird enough” well it is now. And I hate it. Feels like, cheesy cringe too much, and the main plot just feels exhausting.

I can put up with a good amount of cheese, but it honestly just feels cringe. The writing is rough. Dagger bhaalspawn lady is…nicely voiced, but they sure don’t make it easy with how cringe some of that dialogue was.

Character quests seem to be the best so far, but the more I play, the more I just wish I was playing pathfinder:wotr or the og bg 1+2.

Honestly, I just feel exhausted playing it at this point. Not really vibing with any of the romances so far so I may just sell my soul to the emperor. #yolo, y’know?

Soon I can start my first Pathfinder:WOTR playthrough and thinking about character build. I want to make wanderer/outcast with an animal companion. Currently narrowed classes to Hunter (base, divine hunter, divine hound), Druid (base, feyspeaker, drovier), nature Oracle, Sylvan Sorcerer. I dont want main char to be pure buffbot for pet but some buffs are nice. She will be either caster or range melee like pike or spear, something like that.

I like nature oracle but Ember is already with "Blackened" curse and I wanted to take it for my char so it will be awkward. If i go oracle then probably pick "Plagued" curse. Divine hunter is interesting because of "otherworldly companion".

Race is practically any medium humanoid, but probably go with someone with elven proficiency.

last night while playing pathfinder:wotr daeran DRAGGED A FULL TUB into my commander’s room. the tub was fucking HUGE. it wasn’t one of those claw foot ones either this shit was a full slab of stone with a depression scooped out of it and was like eight feet long and five feet wide. how did you get it in there. you don’t have the strength score for this. who helped you. how did you do it with nobody noticing. How Did We Get It Back Out Of The Room.
