I'm evolving, people. I got a non-mxtx danmei from the library because it was next to the tgcf books and I really liked the colors on the second novel's cover. Call me shallow but I'm a hoe for a good pastel pallette. It's called The Husky and His White Cat Shizun lemme know if it's a good one or not gang :)

Tulip DPD (Dependent Personality Disorder) flag ✨

DPD Symbol by @/revenant-coining, and also credits to @/dependencypersonality for the idea of the tulip being representative of DPD, very thoughtful! Those two together made something click in my brain.

I wanted to make my own take on the DPD flag, seeing as how much it affects my life. I wanted it to be full of meaning and hope for a better future while acknowledging it isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

Stripe Meanings:

Purple: Darkness when without the guidance of others, being lost in the dark.

Peach pink: Depended person, being dependant on them. (Can also represent the love one feels for them, though not necessarily)

Orange: Anxiety, Feeling anxious and stressed when forced to make own decisions

Yellow: Hope for a better tomorrow, new beginnings (rising sun rays)

Green: Growth, constantly trying to be more independent and growing as a person. (Recovery)

As you can see, the majority of colors (3 out of 5) are warm, and the orange is centered. This is because orange is associated with anxiety and cluster C pds are the "anxious" ones.

The colors are in negativity to positivity in meaning, atleast to me. Going from feeling lost and depending on someone, to anxiety but being a bit more independent, having hope, and finally being in recovery and healing,

I chose to use the theme of sunrise colored tulips for two reasons: firstly, the DPD symbol is a setting/rising sun. Secondly, tulips and flowers in general are seen as a "needy" because of how fragile and sensitive to various factors they are, so they depend on their gardeners to stay alive and healthy

I used common tulips colors, except white and the darkest purples to keep some harmony in the color pallette and to maintain the sunrise/sunset theme.

I think one of my favorite Sunset Shimmer details is that she goes from a fiery red and orange color scheme in the first few movies to being a much more pastel red, yellow and orange color scheme in the later movies and shorts. You can see it the best in her yellow streaks of hair that go from a mustard color to a pastel color. To me it symbolizes her journey of redemption

ngl, i'm staring at this ask and wondering if this an 18+ ask or not. got me looking around like my mom's about to walk in as i type like i'm not 24 years of age. a grown adult if you will. ahem- anywho. let's go for a little safer way of an answer but everyone knows because i've referenced to it all the time. R I O! the place where we had our first not work related getaway and the maybe reason why we named our babygirl rio. yeah, too little detail but i fear the lack of it is enough to make you understand what i'm saying.

🍏 — what's a memory from your childhood in your dr that stands out amongst the others? the edges of the picture are crisp, it may not be particularly good or bad—but intricately memorable.

the moments as a little girl following her brother like he's got all the answers to life. james (jimi) taught me so much of the things i know today. how he was the one who taught me how to tie my shoes, how to throw a right hook, how to play a guitar riff. a year difference between us yet he acts like he was much older than that. he's the reason why i'm so good at what i do today and without him i wouldn't be here at all.

🥑 — what's the most comforting part of your daily routine in your dr? it's grounding— something that no matter where you are or what you have going on, will always give you reprise and solace.

my answer off rip was giving michael a good morning hug and kiss. a-ha, he's made it into my answer yet again! but he's got this feeling to him, warmth, scent, so biblically him that it cannot be recreated.

however, if he can't be found near me whether it is i'm on tour and he's got filming to do elsewhere across the country, a shower is where my grounding occurs. nice and hot, down my spine as i scrub in homemade soap i'd routinely been gifted by my sister pharoah. the pondering of the day or night that previously occured, the thoughts of the day ahead. the shower is where i release the tensions and wash off the grime to start anew again.

🍍— if your life in your dr had a color pallette, what would it look like? perhaps pastels, or a range of jewel tones? maybe a collection of shades that seem random but that make perfect sense just to you?

Slicked back hair is a big one for the Scorpio archetype. Dramatic styles, such as pinned curls, spiked hair, etc might be fun and exciting for you as well. Having a hard time designing an outfit for Pastel, I wanna switch it up from the past years. I’m trying to draw inspiration from OLD old Pastel designs and some of this shit was…….inspired if I have to be nice about it.

None of these are even her original design, I don’t think an original copy of her original design even still exists. But I remember it. Everytime I redesigned Pastel it was like a moment in history.
