So If Sam and Caitriona are not a " secret couple" and Caitriona is and engaged woman then You paint Sam in a not so flattering light. His choice of relationships and how he conducts them is shady. He openly flirts and is very touchy with his openly engaged , best friend costar during promotions? All his GF to date have been long distance and younger. Not a good look, he would be better off coming out as gay.

Anon, I do NOT “paint” Sam in any light. I simply post factual information. I don’t make up the information. It exists independent of me. I’m simply the messenger. It is up to each person to then form an opinion as to how they feel about it. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with dating anyone of any age, as long as they are of legal age. Young or old, makes no difference to me, as long as the person is happy. As for long distance, it works for some people. If Sam were unhappy, he would do things differently. Obviously, he’s just fine and makes decisions about HIS life as he sees fit, as the adult that he is. No one is holding a gun to his head. So, if he chooses to be with someone in their twenties and it’s long distance, HE IS MAKING THAT CHOICE, which logic would dictate, that choice IS WHAT HE WANTS. And if that’s what he want, then again, logically, that makes him happy. Why is there anything wrong with that? As his fan, if Sam’s happy, I’m happy. Simple as that. It’s HIS life, not mine. As for Sam’s reputation: a 38 year old man who has had relationships with 4 women (now possibly a 5th) in 4 years…is…dare I say it? Practically a monk, especially in show business. Sam’s reputation is JUST fine. In fact, he needs to date more, expand his horizons, try a cougar maybe…ahem. ;-)

As for the tired “He openly flirts and is very touchy with his openly engaged , best friend costar during promotions,” YES, ANON, welcome to how TV show promotion works on Planet Earth. ALL actors who are trying to sell a love story lay it on think during promos to SELL their show. There are MANY examples of this that have been posted before. They work hard on a show and the only way that show continues to air, and they continue to make money, and continue to have a a career, is if people WATCH the show, and people are more likely to watch a show about an epic love story, if the actors playing the epic couple SELL the love story. This is a very easy concept, a very obvious concept, I don’t get why it’s beyond some people’s comprehension. So, yes Sam will continue to be all over Cait during Outlander promo, while he will continue to conduct his personal life privately (this doesn’t mean he will hide it though), if you and some others have issue with this, I suggest you go to your local library and check out a manual on how life works on Planet Earth. The rest of us already got the memo and have been differentiating fantasy from reality for some time now.
