i know nothing about game development but one day i would like to make a video game where you are a fish monger traveling between vastly different biomes catching fish for townsfolk. the world around you is grueling and unforgiving but you are a fish monger and you must catch fish. but every time you catch a fish in these harsh landscapes, their scales shimmer brightly in the dark and the lighting changes just a little bit because you are not just a fish monger, this is your gift.

you encounter starving families who are struggling to survive and cannot offer you anything of value for your help but you help them anyways, because they need food and you have a gift.

discovering new species is difficult and no one sees the beauty in these unknown creatures the way you do. but you do see it, and you catalog every species in your journal, which is lovingly kept.

for now your goal is survival and giving aid to those who need it, and this requires a nomadic lifestyle. but you dream of settling down and building a hatchery one day, if such a thing can be done in this harsh world. even if it can't, your gift will see you through.

anyways the point is that beauty exists and it keeps us alive in our darkest hours and for some reason i decided to use fish as a metaphor for beauty.
