This quote from FvF Director James Mangold can be added to the one you posted:
“Whatever had been said to me before I met Caitríona — ‘She’s in this hot TV show, huge following, former model’ — this is often the kind of thing that turns me off. But what I was confronted with was a simply remarkable actress—present, fearless, emotionally vulnerable, and smart.” - James Mangold, Director FvF
Thanks for the message, Anon. 😃 Your Mangold quote is from Vanity Fair and follows Brian’s recent post with video of Jamie Dornan’s and Orlando Bloom’s, and a tweet screenshot of Mangold’s, talking about working with Caitríona.
James Mangold and Caitríona Balfe attend the Le Mans ‘66 /Ford v Ferrari premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival at Roy Thomson Hall on 9 September 2019 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Thanks for your message, Anon. 😃
What do I think “based on reviews in everything she's done in and outside Outlander?” 😂 How To Attract Unwanted Attention Without Really Trying…
I think Caitríona will be just fine, regardless of her age (45 in October) and Outlander’s ending (filming in the next few weeks, Season 8 promotion sometime before 2030…).
It’s nice to step into the unknown and see what the possibilities might be. — Caitriona Balfe, 6 September 2024
Video 📹 from Twitter
I’d argue if every other role is typecasting, every other role is something different. 😉
Let’s look at her work released since Outlander premiered in August 2014, supportive wife/mother wise:
2015 The Price of Desire ❌
2016 Money Monster ❌
2019 Le Mans ‘66/Ford v Ferrari ✔️
2019 The Dark Crystal: The Age of Resistance ❌
2019 The Christmas Letter ❌/✔️
2020 Angela’s Christmas Wish ✔️
2021 Belfast ✔️
2024 The Cut ✔️/❌
2025 The Amateur TBA*
*Will she play the murdered wife? An American CIA agent or diplomat? A foreign agent or assassin? The Amateur’s version of Mrs Kravitz? 🤷🏻♂️ What we do know is she had her own dialect coach who is “passionate about coaching accents,” and, according to someone who attended the film’s screening in Pasadena last month, “(Caitríona’s) talent and range is bigger than anything we’ve seen.”
Does she have something bigger than small parts lined up?
As you mentioned, she typically doesn’t talk about, much less name, a project until it’s announced officially. 🍿🍿🍿
I think she’ll be offered roles, big and small, and do only what appeals to her and suits her family’s** lifestyle. She still owns the rights to Here Is The Beehive and now has some experience directing. She’ll never be bored, between time spent enjoying her family** and her interest in travel, art, music, film, fashion, literature, sports, and people.
**her actual family
You didn’t ask, but I’ll offer my humble opinion, just the same. I don’t think they’ll move abroad, regardless of her having lived for several years in New York and Los Angeles. Her and Tony’s parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews all live in Ireland and the UK. As she and Tony have done for years, I see their staying abroad for long periods during filming, but not setting up a permanent residence. I think they’ll continue to make their home and raise their son in Ireland/UK… JMHO.

Arthur Chester Duncan (September 25, 1925 – January 4, 2023) was a tap dancer, called an “Entertainer’s Entertainer,” known for his stint as a performer on The Lawrence Welk Show (1964-82). He was the first African American regular on a variety television program. He performed all over the world, and notably at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
Born in Pasadena, one of thirteen children, he entered show business at age thirteen, when he was a member of a dance quartet that performed at McKinley Junior High School. He entered Pasadena City College to study pharmacy but left to pursue a career in show business.
The weight of this, as well as the weight of being the only Black man on the show, led to him pre-recording his tap dancing, saying he “didn’t take chances.” This confined him and his dance moves, not allowing him to experiment, which is a key element of tap dancing.
The 1989 film Tap featured him in a cameo appearance with other famous tap dancers. He made more TV guest appearances on Diagnosis Murder, Columbo, and The Phil Donahue Show.
In 2004 he was honored at the annual “Tap Extravaganza” in New York City.
In 2006, he was honored for his contributions to tap dance at the 15th Annual St. Louis Tap Festival.
In 2017, he appeared on the series premiere episode of the reality talent series Little Big Shots: Forever Young, where he performed a dance and reunited with actress Betty White.
In 2018, he made an appearance on The Talk as part of a surprise for co-host Sheryl Underwood, who performed a tap dance routine with Savion Glover as part of the show’s New Year’s Evolution.
He served in the army as an army private. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

The day after de la Huerta barged in on the production of "My Scientology Movie," director John Dower interviewed her on camera in her hotel room. She revealed that she had participated in a reenactment of an event Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard used to put on with scientist Jack Parsons after World War II. "She had taken part in a kind of Magick ritual, a reenactment of a Magick ritual," Theroux told Business Insider when the film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, referring to an occult practice. In the 1940s, before the creation of Scientology, Hubbard and Parsons were part of the California branch of the black-magic cult Ordo Templi Orientis. Parsons used the huge amount of money he got from the Department of Defense for inventing rocket fuel and converted an old mansion in Pasadena into a pagan oasis where strange rituals happened often. According to Dower and Theroux, de la Huerta said she was the female lead in a reenactment of one of the Magick rituals done in the mansion. It was all part of a performance headed by artist Brian Butler, who is also known as the manager of legendary experimental filmmaker and author Kenneth Anger ("Hollywood Babylon"). Like any good journalist would, Theroux and Dower followed the story, interviewing Butler and Anger as well as going to Pasadena to film the occult mansion. But looking back on it now, they went too far down the rabbit hole. "Interviewing Kenneth Anger was fun because 'Hollywood Babylon' was kind of a formative book for me back in the day," Theroux said, "but I thought he was going to link it all up — Hubbard's Hollywood years with the current religion — but it turned out to be an odd interview." Theroux and Dower ended up never using any of the footage in the movie from the de la Huerta lead. But Dower will never forget the last day of shooting de la Huerta. "She started singing a Charles Manson song," he said. "I realized then we really went too far down the road with all this, but it was good fun."
like. hello. that's it that's all the existing information
did anybody ever like... find any information about what happened between paz de la huerta and jack parsons? like the unreleased interview footage from the scientology documentary she interrupted

Noah Cowan. There’s so much to want to say and share to honor a life. A complex, special human. But the words don’t string together easily right now. Noah mentored, influenced, provoked, and shaped a generation of film people. His peers, the industry, and many audiences, through his curating, writing, advocacy, and leadership. He was opinionated and outspoken, passionate and playful. His devious, strange laugh was absolutely infectious and singular. His intellect was awesome (and sometimes intimidating)! That was Noah. That mind! Woah. Noah’s brain wouldn’t ever seem to stop. How was he always a few steps ahead, with certainty before you even fully understood the question that needed answering? I suppose that’s fitting. This past year Noah was a few steps ahead of his friends and he was so graceful giving us the time and space to catch up with him on this final leg of his journey. What a heartbreaking gift before his brain made his body slow and then just stop. Noah wholly embraced Toronto, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and whatever city he was inhabiting for a film festival at that moment. People in film culture in all of those cities, and beyond, are reeling today. A few weeks ago, Noah held court at a small dinner in LA. Anne Thompson (right) and I sat with him in Jeanne (center) & Bob Berney’s home in Pasadena right before Christmas. He was lively and lucid, sharp and funny, inquisitive and opinionated. He was Noah. And he was top of mind all week here in Park City. We were sending Noah photos from various gatherings, certain we’d catch up with him when we all got back home. We all knew his time was limited but we didn’t expect to hear the inevitable so abruptly. I really thought there would at least be some time for a catch up and a debrief once the festival was over. Isn’t that often the case? Noah. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn5Df5IJWka/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

i think whoever your own personal It Girl is, says a lot about you as a person. like basic zoomer girls are really into the hadids and thats fine. or the more nostalgia based bloggers will pick someone dead like marilyn or audrey etc. ive beemn thinking about it and the only one i feel compelled by is paz. shes just so weird. i think i first saw her in her bizarre walk-on cameo in My Scientology Movie and immediately had to figure out who this weird, sexy woman was
In Louis Theroux's first feature film, "My Scientology Movie" (in theaters Friday), the acclaimed British documentarian travels to Hollywood in the hopes of better understanding the Church of Scientology by investigating its most infamous moments with former members.
But, as it typically goes with a Theroux project, the unknown creates the most compelling footage. And there's nothing more compelling in "My Scientology Movie" than the hilarious and surprising moment when, in the middle of Theroux doing an interview with former Scientology member Marty Rathbun, actress Paz de la Huerta suddenly hijacks the shoot.
Dressed in a bikini and sipping a water, she is seen in the background walking by the windows of the hotel room where Theroux and Rathbun are shooting. She suddenly stops, knocks on the room's window, and walks to the room's door, which Theroux opens.
"You can't film me," de la Huerta says, before stepping into the hotel room and talking to the camera.
effortless. totally unhinged
"She had taken part in a kind of Magick ritual, a reenactment of a Magick ritual," Theroux told Business Insider when the film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, referring to an occult practice.
i cant believe this was cut, release the paz-jack parsons ghost summoning ritual interview immediately

Theroux and Dower ended up never using any of the footage in the movie from the de la Huerta lead. But Dower will never forget the last day of shooting de la Huerta.
"She started singing a Charles Manson song," he said. "I realized then we really went too far down the road with all this, but it was good fun."
