💭 thinking of the headcanon of bdubs and etho both having stims of running their hands up and down the moss of bdub’s moss sweater

obviously for bdubs this would be easier because, well, it’s his sweater after all! he’s the one wearing it and can fiddle with the collar or rub his knuckle against his chest when he’s thinking. but etho as well, when they’re close in proximity, there’s that ability to reach out and run the back of his hand down the sleeve of bdubs’s sweater

or the idea then that etho takes one of bdubs’s sweaters, maybe not to keep, maybe he takes one for a few weeks and then switches it out with another. just to keep the familiar smell intact. and he can hold it in his hands and press his face against it, because the feeling of moss against your cheeks is quite nice. sort of soothing

and it feels different than just a bit of moss, moss carpet or a piece of a moss block to hold, because to make it into the sweater it’s been woven into that shape. and it changes the texture, just a bit, just enough that it’s different when etho is holding bdubs’s sweater vs when he’s holding a moss block

what was he there to say? to do? whatever his intentions were, they were interrupted by the slightly more pressing matters of a knocked-out lurch and a nicholas with a relit determination. why was he there? doesn't it feel like, after nicholas decided to walk home alone, that danny sat there in the station ruminating on whether or not to go after him? like there was something he needed to tell him?

can't you imagine the scene that would have played out if there was no lurch? danny at nicholas's door while he's midway through getting ready for bed? saying something about how he hated to see nicholas go off alone, and wondered if he really needed someone with him afterall???
