Disability Research

Hey... I need a bit of advice, and a direction to start researching in, about spinal injuries?

This is sorta directed in the Outsider's fandom, as I'm writing Johnny in specific, but i'm writing a story in which Ponyboy, Johnny, and Sodapop all get some form of sickness and are out for a day to three days, though the fic focuses on the first day, and there's a part written in Johnny's POV and I realized, after a brief stunt of research, that there's a lot more to being paralyzed than I had initially thought.

So I thought I would ask to see if anyone had any good sources for research or if there were better posts on Reddit that someone could link to me about someone's experience and life afterwards?
