Thank you all for the feedback! Cookies were the most suggested: thumbprint cookies... girlscout cookies... biscotti... etc. However, my brother in law's mother has this snickerdoodle recipe I've been wanting to try, so I went with that! They were a bit crunchier than I like, so next time I'll probably take them out of the oven right at the 10 minute mark instead of the 13 minute mark. Either way, guests were wrapping them up in napkins to take home, so I count that as a win 🍪

For the second option, I just went to a slightly-nicer-than-usual grocery store to pick up some fresh fruit and nuts. After I took the picture my sister added some pigs in a blanket to the spread, so it was a darned good brunch overall!
