A.B.A is an experimental clone of the real Dr. Paracelsus (fan-theory)

(I made the distinction in the title but to be clear - I mean Paracelsus her creator, not Paracelsus we all know and love but the one A.B.A renamed him after. To differentiate, I'm referring to them as Dr. Paracelsus)

So, this might not be common knowledge watching Guilty Gear from the outside, but there's actually two Asukas currently 'active' in STRIVE - the original Asuka R. Kreutz and his clone Asuka R♯. In fact, it's the clone that's the main playable character, and the arcade mode is from the clone's perspective as he is his own character separate from the real Asuka.

Asuka R# was created based on Asuka admiring the construction of the Valentine sisters, and the "Frasco specimen" and creating his own clone based on that research. The 'Frasco specimen' is currently assumed to be referring to A.B.A (and was potentially a teaser for A.B.A's eventual inclusion into the game at that point in time).

Asuka (R#): No? Well, I beg to differ. Otherwise… I might never learn why you created me. Asuka: …Um, well… About that. The Valentine sisters, formed by the Universal Will, were perfect beings. I hadn’t seen such immaculate synthetic life since the Frasco specimen. Asuka (R#): So you wanted to try it for yourself. At least you're honest... if ethically bankrupt. Asuka: Let me guess... Do you resent me? Asuka (R#): No need to worry about that. Unless you resent yourself. Now, why don’t we kill a little more time?

What if I tell you there aren't just multiple examples of artificial lifeforms like A.B.A that are all clones of someone, but even in the current official Guilty Gear World entry for 'Homunculus', it's explicitly mentioned there are multiple homunculi in the world and that A.B.A could have 'siblings'?

All the Valentine sisters are clones of the original Aria Hale. So everyone here is technically, on some level, genetically the same person:

And R# is also a near identical clone of Asuka, down to possessing the same memories and experiences but programmed by Asuka to be more socially active than he really is, and also to lack a moral compass (which doesn't seem like a good idea but ok).

So if A.B.A is a similar experiment to the two examples we know, then it follows she is likely an experiment into synthetic clones as well.

And then there's the official entry under "Homunculus" in the offiical Guilty Gear World database (link goes to the online wiki copy of the entry).

That's right, there's confirmation there's multiple homunculi out there, with it explicitly hinted that A.B.A is simply the only one to appear in the games "so far". And either they are going to be unique homunculi, or possibly 'clones' of/like A.B.A that vary like the Valentine sisters do.

And this may be a superficial design coincidence, but original Asuka's eyes are golden while his clone R#'s eyes are green, and quite a similar if not the exact same shade as A.B.A's

But note that the original Aria's eye color was green, and her four clones all have very different eye colors (Elphelt's seems close but hers is actually light blue). It prolly does mean that even when making a near-identical clone like Asuka did with R#, the clone's eye color being different is one of the main differences that appear.

And this leads back to my previous theory that Dr. Paracelsus could be revealed to actually be a woman, and that A.B.A is her genetic clone. As the name 'Paracelsus' is actually a made-up name that's a portmanteau of the words 'para' (meaning 'beyond') and the name 'Celsus' and just meant 'beyond Celsus' and was the historical alchemist's way of dissing another alchemist called Celsus. So there's no inherent gender related to the name 'Paracelsus', and can be a nickname for a woman alchemist/scientist.

This would also help explain all the perfectly sized shorts that A.B.A found around Frasco in the first place to wear. They could belong to her 'mother' who would be exactly the same size as her.

I'm rooting for a future introduction of an older woman scientist that gets to be revealed as A.B.A's creator, because I think the visual would be so cool. Cos her 'mother' would be her but aged normally. And can you imagine if Dr. Paracelsus treats Paracelsus as her son-in-law!?

Shade Maria Hedgehog:

• First child of Sonic and Shadow

• The result of Sonic’s wish to have a family of his own

• Hatched from an egg (due to Shadow’s alien DNA)

• The chill sibling. She’s fun, but not reckless

• An even balance of both parents, she has Sonic’s sense of fun and adventure as well as Shadow’s more cautious and calculated thinking

• She has both Sonic’s speed and Shadow’s chaos manipulation skills, though they are more limited

Miracle (Mira) Rose Hedgehog:

• Second oldest sibling and fraternal twin of Destin

• The result of Shade’s wish to have siblings

• Bestowed upon the couple by the spirit of their world, Gaia

• The hot-headed sibling. She’s passionate, but has trouble controlling her emotions

• She takes more after Shadow with her serious demeanor. She also suffers from severe anger issues, which can lead her to make rash decisions

• She didn’t inherit Sonic’s speed and instead wears shoes like Shadow’s. She did inherit Shadow’s chaos manipulation abilities, and unfortunately has power outbursts when her emotions get out of hand

Destin Miles Hedgehog:

• Middle sibling and fraternal twin of Mira

• The result of Shade’s wish to have siblings

• Bestowed upon the couple by the spirit of their world, Gaia

• The funny sibling. He’s confident and jovial

• He takes more after Sonic with his joking demeanor. He’s always on the go and always has a quick comeback at the ready

• He didn’t inherit Shadow’s chaos manipulation abilities, but he did inherit Sonic’s speed, and is the fastest of his siblings

Emerald (Emmie) Gaia Hedgehog:

• Second youngest sibling

• The result of residual Chaos energy left over from Sonic and Shadow going super

• Sonic and Shadow find her in the wake of destruction left after a huge Chaos energy spike

• The positive sibling. She’s energetic and optimistic

• She has Sonic’s positive outlook, but also inherited Shadow’s immortality, and doesn’t age as a result. (Until her wish to free herself and Shadow from their immortality, she’s stuck physically at age 5)

• She has crazy powers, similar to Sonic and Shadow’s super form powers. She can fly, teleport, and has telekinesis

Ultimus Chaos Hedgehog:

• The youngest sibling

• The result of a top secret project to create ‘The True Ultimate Lifeform’

• Was abandoned by the lab that made him and found by Sonic and Shadow as a baby

• The edgy sibling. He’s indifferent and melancholy

• Takes after Shadow with his closed-off nature. He is usually stoic around people at first, but will loosen up around people he knows and trusts

• When it was discovered that he’d inherited no powers, the lab that created him abandoned him and shut down Project Ultimus. Sonic and Shadow came across him shortly after

So what makes Beacon so eldritch? Like what can they do? Are there others like them? Thanks!!

Love this question!! Thank you for giving me a chance to dump lore lmao^^ (Sorry, it got long, so under the cut it goes! Also, spoilers after the second para)

The easy part first, yes, there are many eldritch beings on Earth aside from Beacon. Not like a lot, but more than enough to be on the Bedrock Society's radar. You'd be forgiven for assuming Beacon is the only one, as Eldritch beings are very territorial and view one another as competition. It's very rare for two Eldritch beings to be within miles of one another, with some minor exceptions.

As for their Eldritchness, I do use that term very liberally, and you'll have to forgive how vague I've been about Beacon in general. You'll get to hear most of the details from the horse's mouth as well as read the BS's research on the species.

The word Eldritch just means "weird and sinister or ghostly", but its most popular association is HP Lovecraft's work, Eldritch Horror, which is an inspiration but in a very loose sense. Themes of cosmic interference, humanity's insignificance in the universe, and concepts/sensory details that are beyond comprehension are all themes I plan to play with in Stygian. But Eldritch beings in Styg work differently from traditional Lovecraftian horror.

They do indeed come from another place(dimension, universe, whatever word fits best for you, no one can pin it down anyway). But traveling here to our level of existence had a price for Eldritch beings, changing them at a fundamental level. It might be comparable to losing a limb(s) or your vestibular sense. They're a little like hermit crabs, starting small, struggling to find a shell to house them, eating to regain their strength, outgrowing their home, and searching for something bigger and better along the way.

Younger beings have less to work with and are much weaker than older beings, who've managed to acquire complex forms to house themselves in. The potential power a being can wield in their nearly immortal lifetime is limitless.

Beacon, specifically, is able to manipulate physical objects without physically touching them, manifest a shadowlike form to inhabit while on land, and influence the mental state and dreams of certain kinds of lifeforms. Something to note, the lighthouse constricts much of Beacon's movement and powers while on land, limiting how much they can actually do.

Oh gosh, I don't really have a favorite! I do enjoy different types of genres of music, if that helps? I like nerdcore and some famous artists that are on youtube are Cam Steady, Shwabadi, DaddyPhatSnaps, etc. I also do enjoy the occasional bout of bardcore. I also enjoy old school pop and rap songs like Usher's Yeah, Flo Rida's Low, and so on.

So maybe... Pitbul, Kesha, Little Mix, etc.

But I'll listen to most anything so long as it sounds good!

Dark Brown! Almost black!

I don't believe in the Hollywood portrayal of little green men, but I do believe that we are not alone in the universe. There's been samples of water, bacteria, and so many other tiny microorganisms not from earth! With that evidence, there has to be some other lifeform out there who has intelligence! It's only a matter of finding a planet with a suitable environment that mirrors that of earth and given how the universe is always expanding... It's improbable, but not impossible!

I'm getting better! Honestly! I'm working on myself, I've been taking daily walks, teaching myself some new hobbies, and my depression has been getting better! There are some days when I don't feel like doing anything, but I am a better place than I was a few months ago! :D

Angst like 80% of the time but I do enjoy my fluff too!! I swear Q_Q I prefer para's over one liners for sure - it gives you more to work with and to reply to, but I'm not too fussy? As long as people give me something that I can reply to I'm not bothered about people matching my length...but if I write like 500 words and you write 20 back...that probs makes me feel as though you're not as invested as I am I suck at plotting - mainly cause I feel like I'm usually left up to coming up with everything and then I worry I focus the thread too much on my muses and then my anxiety just kicks in and it's a mess - so winging it is how I tend to start things, but if we speak a lot ooc then plotting becomes a lot easier and I'm more likely to just appear with - okay but what if blah blah *insert random thought here*. basically, aba was created as an artificial lifeform in a lab named Flask (previously mistranslated as frasco) as a homunculous. Her creator , a scientist named Paracelsus, was taken by the goverment n she lived alone for 10 years, n later gained an interest in keys of all kind. She later escaped the lab, but knows nothing of the outside world, and one day stumbled onto a living magic battle axe which is shaped like a key, quickly falling in love w him, naming him Paracelsus and calling him her husband (fun fact he sounds like a total nerd. he also does NOT wanna be here at all lmao)

her design also used to be way more bloody. girl was groaning and mumbling to herself the whole time. most of her story modes basically revolved around her looking for people to make para a human body

what do you think about the existence of parasites in Pokemon? Someone in a server I was in was saying Pokemon don't need parasites to exist because Pokemon are magical, and I think that's stupid. I'd imagine parasites to be regular animals, at least for my verse where regular animals exist, but it could be interesting to have some parasitic Pokemon...

I have no idea what they'd mean about magic. Pokemon already have to feed on other Pokemon all the time, and many are confirmed to feed non-lethally (the broadest definition of parasitism) by draining energy or outright sucking blood: Zubat, Buzzwole, Eelektross, many ghost types and many grass types. I'm also not sure how they're forgetting Paras and Parasect, which are completely controlled by a true parasitic organism living in their bodies. If it wasn't always a Pokemon, the fungus became permanently integrated into its Pokemon host, but it's more likely the fungus is a species of grass type Pokemon itself since it evolves, it uses grass attacks, and it even speaks Pokemon language :)

Another canon parasite is Nihilego, actually the first Pokemon explicitly referred to as one in its official descriptions and its title, which is able to feed on and enslave any lifeform with a brain by injecting psychotropic venom. Official artwork has it taking over a Pikachu:

Also, its Japanese name has nothing to do with "ticks" and it doesn't normally have to do this, but one anime episode has Pikachu getting sick because a Joltik has been attached to him and siphoning away his electricity:

Finally, settings with "magic" also have parasites anyway! Some more obscure Dungeons and Dragons literature has parasitic worms and lice that feed on magic itself, even; if any kind of energy source is produced by a living thing, both predators and parasites will evolve to exploit it, but mainly parasites. There are way, way more parasites on Earth than predators.

Meet Para(it/its)! A sentient parasite alien that made its way to earth with the specific goal of observing humanity in their natural habitat! (the necklaces are chew stim toys)

Para's species co-evolved with a bigger, nonsentiant species that they use as vessels for control and protection, essentially fusing with their hosts to become one being. They fuse by attaching those pinchers to the base of the spinal cord and forcing all nerve impulses and the likes to be run through their body, taking over the brain in doing so. They die when the host dies but they also very much extend their hosts life. They have no social concept of gender, with the species being essentially able to change sex depending on reproductive needs (like a clownfish)

Para's species are looking to study any and all sentient lifeforms they can find, and they feel the best way to do this is by taking a near death member on as a host. This way they can learn about the hosts species as naturally as possible without the ethical problems of taking over a living sentient host. Para's specific host was brain dead and bleeding out from a car crash when Para took over. It has brief flashes of the hosts memories and emotions, but there is effectively nothing left of the hosts former 'self'

Para has developed a very close relationship with humanity, and doesn't want to go back to its home planet, preferring to live with humans for the sole reason it finds them interesting! Home base has little problem with this at the moment, as Para is gathering important information, but it will have to return home at some point.

A: Sure, but we're talking about very different scales. I'm talking about enormous monsters and creatures, which could destroy entire cities by merely walking through them. Transformers are big, sure, but only in relation to humanoid-sized lifeforms. Very few of them can reach a size comparable (or even superior) to a skyscraper.

No lo preguntaste tú, pero ya lo contesté antes: no puedo tener batallas con monstruos tamaño kaiju en la Tierra. La magnitud de destrucción que ese tipo de peleas suelen generar simplemente no es sostenible para la humanidad con cierto nivel de "realismo" del UCM que tomo como base para el Kverso. Es muy poco probable que decida incluir esa serie algún día, lo siento.

A: You didn't ask, but I've already answered this: I can't have kaiju-scale monster battles on Earth. The level of destruction that these sorts of fights usually generate is simply not sustainable for the sort of "realistic" humanity of the MCU that I've taken as a base for the Kverse. It's very unlikely that I'll decide to include that series someday, sorry.

How I Run My Blog!

Speed I LOVE GOING FAST!!! Of course, I take all the time I need on my replies, but I get really into it and I love having a lot of threads of any length. I never end up having to use drafts; I used to on older accounts, but it stressed me out so much I would rather just slam dunk all my replies at once in a burst of muse energy!

Replies I tend to use icons (every single one of Tinge’s are photoshopped and edited by me, as of writing this she has around 160 taken of Shadow from shorts & comics, and a handful of them made from various 3D programs/games/etc.

I don’t usually do “script” format (e.g. “ Tinge: Waffles sure sound good. *puts waffle in toaster*) because I love love loooove describing things! She also loves to get wordy, so semi to multi para is where it’s at for me!

Selectivity I can be a bit picky about who I interact with. If you don’t have a rules page and at least some semblance of an about, I probably won’t follow back. I also barely RP outside of fandoms I’m familiar with (not to worry, since there’s a LOT of stuff I’m well versed in), and I definitely won’t interact with anything on my blacklist (on my rules page.) 

Wishlist As for a wishlist? I suppose I wish there were more folks who RP-ed in the Toontown Online fandom. There’s always someone out there RPing a Sonic character, you’ve just gotta look for them! <3
