☆ Lux really likes baking, and after meeting PJ, she takes up the challenge of trying to find a way to bake things for them. She develops a passion for messing around with different art supplies and combining them to make various snacks for PJ. One thing she commonly makes for them is little faux chocolates that she makes by melting crayons into a mold like these,

☆ They're both incredibly easy to fluster. Lux often manages to make PJ blush intentionally, whilst PJ makes Lux blush unintentionally all the time. Lux can flirt if she's given herself a pep talk, whilst PJ cannot flirt to save their life. They're terrible at it. PJ makes up for it by saying some of the most romantic things imaginable without even thinking about it. Like calling Lux beautiful at random moments because they think she looks pretty and they want her to know.

☆ Lux is a lot better at coming up with pet names for PJ than they are for Lux, at least at first. It takes PJ a while to grasp the concept of pet names. The first real pet name that PJ came up with for Lux was “Violet”. Because purple is PJ’s favorite color and purple tastes sweet and Lux is sweet. Very creative of them, I know. They do come up with more over time, though. They also both have a knack for coming up with silly names for eachother.

Here are a few pet names that I imagine they call each other!

What PJ calls Lux:

• Violet

• Bun

• Sunshine

• Firecracker

• Burnt Marshmallow

What Lux calls PJ:

• Starlight

• Sweetheart

• Darling

• Brush

• Microsoft Paint

☆ I like to imagine that Lux likes to pick up and carry PJ sometimes, whether from place to place or just to pick them up and spin them around.

☆ PJ isn't super great with their words, but they're great at giving gifts to show appreciation. I like the idea that Lux's most treasured notebook is one that PJ gave her and customized.

☆ PJ draws/paints Lux all the time; they often keep the drawings to themselves, but they like to doodle her when they're bored. And in return, Lux writes poetry about PJ quite often. PJ has only read a few of them.

Vellum Redesign!

I've been shifting my focus back to Vellum, since she was kinda just left on the backburner...

And, revisiting the first ever design of her I made a few months ago, it was way too cluttered & difficult for people (including myself) to draw. So, I wanted to try again, this time keeping in mind her character & what would actually make sense for her!

Overall, just tried to make her design much simpler while still conveying important themes.

Previously, I had two seperate designs for Vellum: a battle armour outfit, and a casual one. Instead of having two separate outfits she wears at work/out in public, I decided to cut it down to one. She wears casual, comfy clothes at home, of course.

I kept the save-point star motif, but added it in more effective areas, since that's what PJ's soul is and her soul is in the same shape! (I'll make a visual for that, eventually.) To simplify her scarf, I removed the star-stripes pattern and put big, white ones on the ends instead.

The sun emblem on her chest signifies her high status in the Paragon.

This design is her final, official design!!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone, currently thinking about the only couple ever (Paperjam and Lux)

I don't think PJ would be super into Valentine's Day. (I can't remember if this is a canon fact or if I am misremembering) I feel like he'd see it as a kind of stupid concept. Why does there need to be a day dedicated to showing people how much you love them? Shouldn't that be an everyday thing? That kind of thought process.

On the other hand, I think Lux would be SUPER into Valentine's Day, wanting to go all out for it and make it the best day ever for her partner. She'd spend the weeks leading up to Valentine's Day trying to get as much info out of them as she could about what their perfect date would be. Asking about their favorite places, favorite foods, favorite movies, all that kind of stuff.

With PJ, the day would come, and Lux would have a fairly relaxed day planned out for the two of them. She'd set up a picnic for them in Outertale, making a bunch of snacks and sweets for PJ out of art supplies. She'd pile everything up in a picnic basket and take the two of them there, sitting on top of a mountain overlooking the stars. She'd lay out a waterproof picnic blanket, one that couldn't be stained by PJ’s ink, and the two would start eating.

The atmosphere would feel casual, like any other date they've been on despite the importance of the day in Lux's mind. A date perfectly suited for PJ. She'd gift them a handmade card with a new sketchbook attached to it. The first few pages of the sketchbook are covered in a collage of photos of the two of them, with little notes and reminders restating Lux's love for PJ over and over.

She hadn't expected a gift in return. She knew this wasn't PJ's favorite holiday, but she'd be surprised when a small box was pressed into her hands by the skelinkton. Inside would be a gold necklace with a charm in the shape of the sun, black ink swirling around inside it.

PJ would tell her it was a way for her to keep a part of him with her when they were apart. Lux would just about burst into tears.

I think PJ would start caring about Valentine's Day after meeting her, seeing how much she looks forward to the holiday. He'd want to put some effort into it, suddenly understanding why it's so special to her when he sees the way her face lights up at the gift.

The two would finish eating and head home, where they'd snuggle up on their shared couch and watch some bad cheesy Valentine's Day movies together, making fun of them the whole time.

The next year, PJ would plan their date.
